A hidden gem in suburban Durban. We discovered Julio's during a five day visit to Durban when we rented an apartment just up the road. The food was delicious, the service exceptional and a great variety to choose from.
We selected Julio's as the venue for our last meal before starting our journey home to Australia (after watching Australia beat SA in the T20 cricket 😉). Many thanks for your contribution to our African Adventure.

Good food takes time to prepare. Relax and enjoy a drink while you wait. The prawn and chicken was the best I have tasted. Soft, fresh rolls on offer. Great service, excellent food and friendly staff.

The food is always good. We were disappointed by the lamb shank that was covered in creamy sauce -very disappointing. Better to ask the customer if they prefer sauce covered food.

Great service & great food. I thoroughly enjoy the calamari starter, highly recommend deep fried & request tartar sauce. The fillet steak with mushroom sauce is absolute perfection. Try it!!!

The food is beautifully presented and cooked to.oerfectiion. I have a huge appetite but couldn't finish my soft, juicy succulent, melt off the bone eisbein. The prices are darn good too. See you there. Goodness, you're an excellent restaurateur.

Was terribly disappointed in the food on that day, previously it had always been excellent. Service and the food was too shocking for words. Patrons were disgruntled and plate after plate were being sent back to the kitchen. Not the norm! We were accustomed to far far better there. Never been back!!

So my cousin is here from the UK for a little visit and yesterday he fancied Seafood... Julios in Glenwood was our destination of choice and it was delicious!
Because neither of us could decide on one specific thing, we shared a few starters - grilled calamari tentacles, the calamari/chourico combo and the mussels in a creamy sauce - dipping those damned soft, warm, slightly buttered portuguese rolls in the sauces as we went along (carbs... so bad but so delicious).
Mains was a shared Platter for One with extra veggies and chips (chips were cancelled due to "carb overload") Good and simple, well prepared, tasty and a nice variety of tastes and textures which hit all the right spots - coupled with a few glasses of white wine and we had a great evening out all round �

Food good. Service good. Just an idea. Put up blinds or curtains at the back windows for the evenings. Had a soccer match going on right outside. This restaurant looks onto the Stella Club Soccer Field. Hard to have a conversation while a practice is happening. Weather was not good so had no option but to sit inside and face the field.
