My favourite cocktail bar! Modern decor with comfy seating and handbag hooks! Friendly and trained staff that help you decide what to try next on their inventive menu if you're as indecisive as me. Their menus are updated every few weeks and serve a refreshing change to the standard set of cocktails and mixes you find at restaurants and bars. Perfect for a night out with friends, a casual dinner or a date. Good food, good drinks, good vibes!

A Nice variety of original cocktails and drinks. Definitely check it out if you’re looking for something a bit more unique than your standard GnT or mojito. The cocktails are well made and don’t taste watered down or syrupy. You get what you pay for. Food items on the menu offer a good choice of finger foods or something a bit more substantial like a burgers etc. The waiter/barman was friendly and seemed like a genuinely good person.

What can I say.... After two years away from Durban this place is now twice as big with no kids in quality of the cocktails. They've got a few new ones in the menu now, but some of the old cocktails have survived. Nothing disappoints, the food is as good as ever. If you don't know what to choose in terms of cocktails speak to the experienced bar tenders and they'll pick something for you at they clearly love the art of mixology.

Atmosphere and service is great. Tikka burger was slightly disappointing as it tasted more like Sriracha mayo. Would like to see more authenticity with this. Would like to try other dishes on their menu. Drinks are readily available - from basic to high end. Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Great vibe to come and socialise with friends or even work colleagues. Great food especially there tacos, served with flavours that you will enjoy for days. Drinks wise you can be assured that what ever you order to drink from there specialties list will be great. Freshly prepared craft drinks on offer.

Thank you to Kaylan , Tristan and the team at Lucky Shaker we hired the venue for a private function and it was an absolutely amazing evening from the food to the cocktails and most especially the service , I would give this venue a 10/10.👌

The cocktails are literally an experience every person needs. They will tailor anything you want, the great drinks are the Shark Juice and something called a super C shooter. Do not ever order the pork crackling, it is bad. But their chicken nachos and chicken strips are excellent!

Trendy decor and ambience. The menu is nice and refreshing with a new take on classic cocktails as well as new cocktails with good flavour combinations. The nachos were good and service friendly.

We had such an awesome time here. The food was tasty. The drinks were good but the service was amazing! I would go back simply because of the amazing service. Its such a nice cozy place to wind down on the weekdays and it's even more vibrant and full of life over the weekends. Awesome place!

So my friend and I had drinks at Lucky Shaker and were served by Nico who was amazing and so friendly! We were also topped up with water by another waiter who was friendly and very helpful,<br/><br/>However when we received our bill - which was given to us by a waiter whom we hadn't met before and hadn't been server by - he demanded a higher tip and was extremely rude. There was an issue with the card machine which he tried to blame on my friend.<br/>I really like this place but the behavior of this waiter was entitled and revolting. He didn't apologise for his behavior.<br/><br/>I will not return to this place as I will not support an establishment which have staff who look down on paying customers, demand more money and propogate exclusivity among patrons. Unacceptable.

A small cosy hangout joint. We had an office get together and though the other tables were occupied we were the biggest group. The drinks had a good variety and innovative. I had the beer on the tap which was good. I saw the ladies were enjoying their Blush. The starters had a good variety. The wait staff did not bother us. The music was good but not overwhelming the conversations. As we sat there quite late so some of us ordered dinner. I ordered the deluxe burger on recommendation and I must say you cannot be disappointed. The tacos looked weird and the taco was small and the fillings were quite a lot. Be aware for the restroom you need to pass a car park.<br/><br/>Overall good experience for small get togethers.

Amazing service with even better food and drink - a must visit! The interaction is professional, food spot on and they defiantly promote the drinks - spend a few hours going through the cocktail menu, you don’t need to be walking when you leave there’s always Uber!

So I finally got to try this spot out. I was not disappointed at all!! I had the Deluxe burger & my friend had the chicken one. We ultimately had half of each because we were both saying how delicious our burgers were😋😋. The burgers are really some of the best I’ve had! The ambiance is also so amazing! All in all a great vibe

Not the slickest cocktail bar decor and set in a business area with limited other bars or eateries nearby, Lucky Shaker is possibly the best cocktail bar I’ve been to based on purely their cocktails. Their blends are exceptionally well crafted and presented, with subtleties in their flavors and never overpowered by any one element. <br/>

These guys definitely know the meaning of QUALITY. perfectly blended cocktails to suit any occasion. And the lamb taco and crackling pork make great accompaniments!

Popped in for cocktails after a gin festival...there was an excellent vibe but didn’t appreciate the bouncer at the door who was picky about letting certain people in. The cocktails were delicious and the bar tenders are efficient at making complex cocktails.

Trendy little place that serves great cocktails... The bar tenders are quite knowledgeable about the menu as well as off menu options. Worth a visit.

A really unique range of cocktails; I'd recommend The Antidote. The lamb tacos are incredible as a starter and the burgers are great too. <br/><br/>The ambiance is similar to that of a classic New York bar and the service is the best that one could wish for. One of Durban's gems.

Quick and easy. Always a good crowd. Great tasting cocktail. Pretty small menu, opt for the bacon burger. Could do with some music but a great vibe for after work drinks.<br/>

Hidden away amongst what seems to be office blocks and apartments, Lucky Shaker is a cosy spot with a great vibe. After finding it on Zomato, the good rating prompted me to go try it out. The dark-ish interiors make this place a good sundowner/ evening drinks place as they are known for their long list of cocktails. Unlike other eating establishments where waiters give you recommendation and specials on food, their waiters give you their specials/ recommendations on cocktails! Amazing! Their cocktail menu also helps you decide, by splitting it up into sections, ranging from fruity to strong! Their food menu is somewhat limited and the taco portions are small (2 small-ish tacos per portion and pricy on that account) so make sure to add some snack boards to your order. Wait staff is friendly and energized. Will come back!

My favourite cocktails in Umhlanga. From their cocktail menu which caters for all tastes, to their weekly specials, like the gin of the week, this place has the wonderful drinks. The service is also great, with friendly staff. The food menu which is predominantly burgers, is also decent, however probably not the reason why this place is so popular

Lucky Shaker has become my families go-to cocktail bar in Umhlanga and with good reason. There's a great vibe, amazing cocktails, and good food all under one roof.<br/>Word of advice: come early. This is a popular venue and the seats fill up quickly so if you plan on coming in a group of six or more people I recommend getting there timeously.<br/>My favourite part of the evening was definitely the cocktails. The cocktail menu is diverse, original and ranges from fruity to strong. There is also a chalkboard with alternative cocktails written on it that change more frequently than those on the menu. I personally like the fruity cocktails and adored all of the ones I tried (if only I could remember their names!).<br/>The food is also a hit. We ordered a variety of meals ranging from the starter nachos to burgers. While everyone really enjoyed their meal we found the nachos to be underwhelming. The burgers looked particularly delicious and well prepared.<br/>The only thing I could really critique is that there is not a bathroom in the venue: you have to leave and walk to a separate part of the building when you need the loo.<br/>Overall we had a great time fueled by amazing cocktails and I cannot wait to return.

Every single time I go to Durban I drop by. It's one of the top 5 bars in South Africa.<br/><br/>Their food and drinks are 'amazing.' And saying that is an understatement. <br/>You will meet some of the most knowledgable sipsmiths here in SA. <br/>And they get a green bonus: Love the fact that they have zero wastage. 100% of all ingredients are used.

From the food to drinks, everything has a fresh flavour to it. Tried the falafels once and was quiet delish. The drinks never disappoint either.

Had a marvellous night of unique drinks at Lucky Shaker! The service was great as the barman went out if his way to ensure my friend and I were satisfied with our drinks! The bar area is beautiful! Will definitely be back.

Limited menu of burgers and tacos, but great quality.<br/><br/>All cocktails are from from scratch with squeezed juices and homemade syrups. Location is perfect for casual drinks with colleagues after hours or with friends during the weekend. Staff is very friendly too. Drinks were rather disappointing, though. It most certainly didn't live up to my expectations.

I like the fact that freshly squeezed juices are used in the lucky shaker concoctions, it makes the drinks somewhat guilt free. The place itself has a refreshing setup and a cool vibe when it's busy. In general drinks are a bit over priced and theres no happy hour or half price specials on the cards yet.

Needed a change of scenery for a Friday night and decided to visit Lucky Shaker. I was actually really pleased with it's laid back atmosphere. If you want to visit a place that's chilled enough to converse, and offers a great variety of drinks, this would be it.

Lucky Shaker is a cocktail bar shaking up some creative cocktails. Friendly staff and delicious drinks. With a bar setting, there aren't many seating areas for you and friends to gather around and we spent our entire evening at the bar, a little difficult to enjoy food. We were looking forward to enjoying tacos but with our table being given to another group of people we left not having enjoyed all that they offered.

Lucky Shaker is a trendy cocktail bar located in the hub of Umhlanga. It is quite small but it's very accommodating to all guests. Young adults find it a lovely go to for a drinks (or drinks) after work with friends or colleagues or for pre drinks before a big night out! <br/><br/>My friends and I visited Lucky Shaker earlier on this year and quite enjoyed their food and drinks, even though it was very busy! They offered a wide selection of cocktails and the waiters were friendly while advising on which one to try according to our specifications. We were each happy with our selection. My friends ordered burgers as a main meal and I tried their lamb taco. Their food was of s good standard however the burgers were a bit dry. I would definitely go back to try more of their cocktails. <br/><br/>

One of the best spots in Durban. Innovative drinks, great food and good quality service. Whenever I'm down in Durban we meet with friends as lucky shaker. What I love about lucky shaker is how the bartenders are always willing to make you a drink of your choice. Last night a friend requested a drink he had in Singapore and if was made to perfection. <br/>I have so many favourites on the menu so I can't choose - the nice thing is that the menu also changes. So there is always something for everyone. If you're looking for a good spot with tasty drinks lucky shaker is the place to go to.

By far one of the best places I have visited so far in Durban. The fact that o was able to order a Whiskey Sour and it was done properly that just made it my #1 spot. <br/><br/>Besides the liquid nutrition we also just had one plate to soak up the alcohol. <br/><br/>I will return to this gem many more times

What a place!<br/><br/>I could not find flaw in Lucky Shaker. The atmosphere was easy, although it can get a bit loud later in the evening. The service is amazing and the food is everything.<br/><br/>I went with two other friends and we all got the same thing - Lamb tacos except mine was a lettuce wrap. Honestly, I thought I'd be disappointed be eating lettuce while my friends went in on a proper taco. It was quite the opposite. <br/><br/>My meal was a  medley of deliciousness. The portions are smaller than what you'd imagine, but surprisingly satisfying.<br/><br/>The drinks menu quenched my curiosity, I'd say the place for cocktails.<br/>What a great find.

I think I have found my favourite place north of the uMgeni River :)<br/>This spot is super cool with great food. I had the crumbed chicken taco- perfect for a light meal and their homemade cocktails are also amazing!!! Service is wonderful with a lovely overall vibe and ambiance! Killing it!

Definitely a hidden gem. Service, Food and Atmosphere awesome. We went for a chilled evening with friend to catchup. This venue is ideal for that. Don't expect not to bump into someone you might know but the secret is out.

Awesome vibe, marginally obscured location, great bourbon(and other stuff) selection, best tacos/burgers...most importantly exceptional service! Hats of lads...you've got a winner...and this is only my 10th visit this year! 😜🍻

Perfect for after work drinks- a wide variety of cocktails. I love that they dont compromise on the food quality because of the bar atmosphere. Tacos were amazing.

Brilliant. I had the most amazing night here, a small & chic bar with an incredible atmosphere. Perfect service, no drink was left un-filled along with divine food to snack on. friends took me here as a surprise for my birthday & I can't wait to go back.

Definitely a hidden gem. Cocktails are on point and the burgers and tacos keep me coming back for more. Best place to chill with friends. The staff are ever so hospitable.
