I've become a regular because of their spaghetti bolognaise. Today I tried the prawn tagliatelle off the lunch menu (starter and main for R135) and OH MY GOSH. One of my absolute favourite pastas! Creamy but not nauseating with a nice hit of Chilli. Food is always fresh and delicious. Can't wait to go back!

Favourite Italian trattoria in Durban. Authentic cuisine. Excellently prepared. Portion sizes quite large. Lots of variety in the menu. Come here every time I'm in Durban. Family tradition.
Honeymoon pasta is the best. Seafood in mounds with a sumptuous creamy sauce. Best seafood past I've had.
Now slightly bigger, more busier. Am happy for the restaurant that they are doing well. Might have to book next time.

Went for a spontaneous dinner with friends. We had their pizzas which were delicious. I had their vegan pizza which is honestly one of my favourite vegan pizzas I have ever had. Staff were great. Mains were a bit slow coming out but worth the wait! Value for money

Not impressed with the Florida Road Branch. I went for a romantic evening with my husband as we love and rave about this place.Only to be disappointed at the word go. To be told there were not any Prawns, when I came specifically for the honeymoon pasta and hubby for the seafood pizza. Anyway he choose a difference pizza, which lacked in flavor and burnt like meatballs. I then choose Avril's pasta, only to have a pool of water at the bottom of my bowl, tomato not cooked long enough and given sad ,sad tiny langoustines in replacement which didn't even make a difference to the dish. Flavor lacked to this dish as well.

It has got to be the best Italian food I have ever tasted! And what makes it extra special, is that chef comes out and discuses in detail the menu for the evening and ensures that you are happy. Would definitely recommend the food, the vibe, the service and welcoming attitude �

Went to Florida road branch for lunch, ordered their lunch time special, after 45min wait called the waiter, he said he thought we knew that our food would take 30-45min to prep and that it was almost ready. After 1 hour and still no food, the manager approached us and said that the waiter was supposed to have told us when we ordered how long our food would take to prep...but it was already past the said time...we left starving and very disappointed...wont be back!!

Glenashley restaurant - I would recommend the Morningside restaurant, my visit to the Glenashley restaurant was very disappointing - pasta tasted average, waiters were in a rush and not interested, and that tiramisu tasted terrible compared to what you guys do at the Morningside restaurant... Won't go to your Glenashley restaurant again...

As usual, Mammas outdid themselves last night. I enjoyed the best Melanzane I've ever had! Coming from an Italian family who was once in the restaurant industry, that certainly says a lot. Cherry, the awesome manager was so hospitable and cheerful as always. Our waiter was also really organised and friendly. I will never get sick of Mammas and continue to recommend it to those near and far.

The food arrived 25 min late Ice cold as they forgot to prepare an order! The minute we got the food that was ice cold we called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who’s response was “well what do you want me to do” and never contacted us back with a follow up. Very disappointing never ordering from here again and do not recommend to anyone.

Cardinal error made by Mama Luciana's today. If a restaurant, in this case Mama Luciana's, takes a booking then it must be respected. Because management chooses to take money emanating from New Years Eve over a small family that comes every year to eat at their resto, then their strategy is all wrong. The thing is we would probably have been gone by 21.00 & they would have had plenty of opportunity to fill their R650/head seating arrangements. Greed at its greatest & failure in knowing your clients a sad reality at this place. Won't be going back �

This restaurant is usually quiet.<br/>There are no restrooms on the premises which is utterly ridiculous.<br/><br/>The food:<br/>Lunch special starter of salmon carpaccio was light and refreshing. Main was prawn and shrimp tagliatelle which was powdery and severely lacking in flavour.<br/><br/>Pizza: Good crisp thin base otherwise average.<br/><br/>Pasta: The arrabiata here is always a winner for me.

It was my first time trying out mamma luciana's, after reading the great reviews, I feel a little disappointed.<br/>The pizza was okay, too salty and plain for my liking, the calamari was the better option indeed. Their service on the other hand was good, our food arrived quickly, our waiter was attentive and polite.

Best Italian food I've had in the Durban area. Authentic pizza and pasta. Fresh and full of flavour. They ain't shy with the cheese and we love the cheese. Service was slow and waiters took long to take order's and didn't check on us often to refill drinks.

I ordered the Avril"s seafood pasta with tagiatelle (fettechini like pasta) as a take away order. Upon opening it, I was horrified, I saw dry tagliatelle which was covered by an extremely small portion of the pasta sauce. The pasta sauce took up about 20% of entire contents, the rest 80% is dry pasta(withabsolutely so sauce) ans even if u mixed it all together, it is still extremely dry. Not impressed. Never again guys. Goodbye.

This use to be a nice restaurant. Pastas were well priced and amazingly good. Well things have changed since our last visit. Pasta constadina had "italian" sausage. It was dodgy pork.. no sign of basil either, first time i ever sent back a plate of food of Chicken parmigiana. Crumbed chicken breast that wasn't crumbed, was told the oven is broken.. an Alfredo sauce that split with canned mushrooms. This is my first ever bad review and im sad to write it on a restaurant that use to be the Godfather of Italian cuisine in Durban.

Had a date night here and the place is pretty average, its a very authentic Italian place. The food was Good but the meal took over an hour to arrive I had to remind the waitor on numerous occasions Hi please don't forget about US!! Keeping in mind it wasn't even that busy!

Casual family run restaurant with some of the best Italian food around. There is fresh pasta prepared daily by the family's grandmother and is always worth trying! The food is fresh and the vibe is great. Service is a bit on the slow side, but then again, its Italian, so its all about enjoying the company around you and having a good time!

I tend to eat here once every time I visit Durban. The service is always fairly average (sometimes even poor) but the food is really good. Their pizza is always a winner but I have surprisingly had a really good chicken salad there. This is a "no frills" Italian restaurant that seems to focus on the food only.

We had such a great experience here. There is an awesome vibe here and the staff are so friendly!<br/><br/>The gorgonzola gnocchi was delicious!!! It was so soft and the cheese was just perfect. There is a great wine list with plenty options for everyone! The desserts are also fantastic.<br/><br/>I definitely recommend this place! It's a must try for Durban.
