Goundens - Durban - Photo album

Absolutely amazing bunny chow. My husband and I split the quarter mutton bunny chow and it was delicious. Good flavour and spice level. I was a little concerned when I wasn't asked about spice level preference but the way it comes is perfect! The quarter is only 90R and enough to feed two people. O
The bunny chow has remained consistent over the years . Well done to the owners , the bread was fresh, curry was piping hot and made fresh, heat was just right. It can get busy during lunch. Please consider a delivery service such as uber eats or Mr D .
We went for takeout bunny chows after a visit to Stellawood Cemetery. Mutton, chicken and broad beans. Yummy. It may be a bit spicy for the uninitiated palet but oh so flavorsome. A quarter bunny is a huge portion for one. We all had leftovers which we warmed up in the airfryer for the next day.
Still the best value for money - been with the Goundens since the early days. I'm not getting into the taste debate, lest I lose some of my mates. The chip chow is an unbelievable innovation - chips in a bunny chow with a gravy of choice. Gonna try the dessert one day.
First time eating a Mutton bunny at Goundens. All I can say it's on my top 5 favorite bunny places in durban. Service was super quick at the table. The bunny quarter was quite big with a generous amount of meat and gravy. It was well worth it. The taste was nice and flavourful it had a nice aroma no
My husband and children enjoy the spicy mutton bunny. This is the place to visit for the tastiest mutton curry in Durban. It’s not lamb but proper well aged mutton cooked with potatoes in a thick spicy gravy. It’s not about ambience or decor, the food is the ONLY draw card.
Its always busy here because the food is so amazing!!! Especially at lunch times. Unfortunately there is no line or much order when ordering but the cashier or the guy taking orders seems to know what his doing. Have to try the Mutton Bunny Chow. Not very spicy absolutely delicious!!! Please consi
Man Oh Man what can I say. RED CARPET BUNNY. Absolutely flavourful and spices that hit every pellet on your tongue. Service was great didn't had to wait long. When I'm in Durbs again this will be my lunch spot. Durban Tradition. Thanks to the team and keep it but.
Still setting the bar for the famous Durban "Bunny Chow" food is constantly good, ive been visiting this establishment for many years, always busy around lunch, you will find a seat though.
They make the best curries in Durban. One of the best spots to enjoy Indian cuisine such as their bunny cows, roti (which are perfect!!), delectable curries and more.
Fantastic curry. If you enjoy a good bunny chow. Then you have to go to Gounden's good service. But very busy so you need patience..
This place gets very busy!!! The food is Devine and it's worth the drive to Goundens! A taste of days gone by!! Well done!!
Don’t be fooled by its common place appearance - this is the real bloody thing! If you’re on the hunt for an authentic Durban curry Gounden’s is the place to come too. Excellent service, in an austere interior, but lacking nothing. Then there is the food which is brilliant. Best Bunny Chow ever!
My first time to visit here. I have been in Durban all my life just about, but today I had the opportunity to eat at the famous Gounden's. I must say I was impressed with everything. The #muttonbunny was really good. I found no faults. Only thing was that the waiter brought me a knife and fork. 🤷‍♀️
Nice place for one of the best bunnies in Durban. Taste was great. Not too pungent. Just right. Fully loaded with mutton. Gravy was tasty. 9/10 for me. Loved every bite. It was just right. 😋

This is my first time we came here to have Bunny's to eat. The service was very good, very busy place & the Bunny's were very delicious 😋.

I cook a pretty decent curry so it real as to take something special for me to jump in car and travel to Umbilo just to satisfy my craving. From bunnies to my
Very tasty bunny in durban. Curries are great. Usually a crowded place, but the food is worth the wait.
