Review Botanicum Cafe & Grill - Constantia

Lovely little spot situated in Constantia. The food is absolutely delicious and there is a large variety to select from. The service was a bit slow (not enough waiters on the floor) but the staff still did their best and always had a smile on their faces. This is a pet-friendly restaurant, and furbabies are welcomed to sit outside in the shade or under the canopies

I totally love the setting. I came here in a nice warm evening and sat outside. It’s definitely a gem of a place! I enjoyed my dinner and dessert even more :).

We were there two times and very happy with the food and very nice service. Prices are good. Everything is worth the money. The calamari as starter is my favorite. We tried Pizza (good) and the fillet steak for 260 ZAR. Perfect! Only weakness are the french fries. They are not cross enough. We were two adults, had starter, one Pizza, one fillet steak, two beer and two wine andere paid below 1000 ZAR. We will come back:-)

Had breakfast with my family at this location. Beautiful setting and very comfortable. Food was very good. Only issue I had was that if you make up your own breakfast, it becomes very expensive. Service was superb. Will definitely be back.

This restuarant has a lovely warm feeling. Sunlight is allowed to flood the open space of the inner restuarant. There, sophisticated lamps and wall lighting send there owns rays through the room, landing softly on the leaves and vines of living indoor plants. Nostalgic oldworld artworks of botanical drawings and paintings, beautifully framed are suspended on the walls. Service is quick, excellent and friendly. My charcoal grilled and fresh cut ribeye steak was tender, marbled and deliciously flavoursome. The cream spinach was probably the best I have had. Freshly made - no defrosting vegetable boxes here. My partner's homemade Linguine, had a truly delicious Napoletana style sauce with a healthy bite of chili. Really good. The unfortunate timing, meant that the restuarant was resetting their tables after having hosted a seemingly very successful birthday event. This meant the peace and calm of the space was disrupted by moving tables and chairs occasionally screeching across the floors, as they were carried and dragged back to their original spaces. That aside, this was an excellent meal and I would gladly return, possibly to taste more of the great craft beers they have on tap or the lovely wines they stock. They also have an electric stairlift, and a designated bathroom for disabled persons.

We ate the artichokes, rib eye and steak tartar with creme brulee. Wow, wow wow... thats all I can say. The cocktails are wonderful, the waiter called Alpha is the best. Awesome experience really. Thank you

Absolutely love this place! Botanicum presents the classical beauty of bontanical art with the modern comfort of great design and exceptional food. The sourdough pizzas and burgers were flavour-filled and well priced. Enjoy its charm and delicious food under the canopy of ancient oaks or within the stylish and comfortable interior. Wheelchair accessibility accommodated.

What can I say. The service was world class, I honestly haven't received my food this quick at any restaurant in Cape Town before. Not only was the service fast, but the food was AMAZING. I can simply recommend this restaurant for days! Will definitely be back for more. My wife says it is by far the tastiest, juiciest and best Vegan burger she has ever had. My steak was also brilliant, and I HIGHLY recommend the chocolate fondant!

The food was delicious and the service incredible. We had the lamb pizza and the chicken salad. Both were the best we've had! Lovely restaurant.

Absolutely excellent, reasonably priced, pet friendly outside with heaters for warmth. We had lunch there 22 June and went back for dinner the next day. All staff were so accomodating, super fast and wonderfully friendly. We left Botanicum incredibly satisfied with our experience, I wish I didn't live 1600kms away so I could eat there everyday. Great service and top class food. Try the Negrini cocktail, delicious!! Calamari starter is a winner and end off your meal with the excellent homemade Lemongrass ice cream. The ice cream alone is worth a visit, I'll drive there every day of the week for this if I can. They also know how to make a great coffee!!

Great little restaurant. Great food, excellent service. Quality coffee, wines etc. And the prices feel reasonable.

What a stunning cafe to answer emails and have delicious coffee. Staff are very friendly and the scrambled eggs are superb.
