The estate notably one of the Constantia greats, it comes at no surprise that they won’t have worthy eatery to delight their visitors. A common misconception is that notable wine estates have expensive fine dining restaurants chasing culinarily achievements, but not all! Here we find a charming cafe style eatery opening onto a courtyard with benches, water feature, and lots of hardwood fixtures, creating a very warm intimate space. The menu is perfectly balanced and so well priced, I would argue it’s prices offer better value that your average chain franchise restaurant. From what I’ve experienced, only the freshest ingredients can be expected, with great coffee too. Stand outs are the fish & chips, salads, and my personal favorite, fresh scones 🤤 Enjoy 😊

Lunch - pan fried hake broccoli & mash was delicious. The Hummingbird cake slice was scrumptious! Seating for two at the window was very comfortable. Service was prompt and friendly.

Well presented food made to perfection. Enjoy a morning in their beautiful relaxing garden, order the salmon Benedict, and watch as the local family of chickens pass through. You'll find it difficult to leave such an amazing place.

We stopped at Buitenverwachting and got a take away cappuccino and croissant, which we enjoyed outside on the bench in the winter sun, with the squirrels and roaming friendly chickens for entertainment. The gift shop has some special pottery pieces.

Lovely restaurant with a delectable menu. Cosy atmosphere and lovely staff. There's also a cafe where you can buy delicious baked goodies and Smous, with a wide selection of wines at reduced prices.

Really great service! The shared pillar chairs at the tables for 2 are super uncomfortable though....they are narrow, with a thin cushion that can't be moved. You also feel every move that the person on the opposite side of the pillar makes!

Coffee BloC at Buitenverwachting Wine Estate is an all time favorite venue of mine within the Constantia/Bergvliet area. Besides the fact that this venue is nestling amongst ancient oak trees on a historically interesting wine estate, the walks from Buitenverwachting to Klein Constantia is a delightful exercise. The coffee is excellent and the food menu is most reasonably priced.

In beautiful surroundings, we were treated to an excellent lunch. The pan-fried fish might have been the best I've ever had, and my fellow diner raved about his Caesar salad! Service was excellent: friendly and attentive. The beautifully manicured garden was made more impressive by the six handsome cockerels strutting about. A thoroughly lovely spot!

This charming little cafe offers a divine selection of coffee and teas. One can also indulge in pastries or cakes. With a rustic and stylish feel, this tucked away coffee shop also has tables out under the trees that will only add to the relaxing experience.
