Review Little Stream Conference Centre & Tea Garden - Constantia

Beautiful hidden gem . Loved the tranquility. Sitting in the magical garden you hear different interesting sounds. Unfortunately the path that I took down to the magical garden is not wheelchair -friendly.

Magical rainy afternoon. Fantastic service, burger a bit overdone but home made fries top notch. Coffee shakes to die for, and their power smoothies are a meal on it's own. Definitely recommend - looking forward to plan a function here as the gardens are truly magnificent.

We had a bridal shower here. Such a stunning venue, good service and very accommodating of our needs. We hired the tent, which is lovely and private with a beautiful view of the garden. I personally didn't eat anything but was happy to see gluten-free carrot cake and gluten-free brownies on the menu. Some of the guests had the carrot cake which they said was very good. Nice it caters for gluten-free people!

Love this very special place! The food is delicious, affordable and memorable. Tea and scones a must! But the gardens are really eccentric! We spent an hour walking around the garden after lunch! Great surprises, perfect for children to run and enjoy! Loved it! We will be back!

Great place to spend time with family. A lot of space to panic and eat great food.

We ordered 2 picnics for the 5 of us. It was delicious! Beautifully served under the trees in the beautiful gardens. We had a fabulous day and will deffinately come again. What a true hidden gem

This is tranquil place with a huge huge green garden, a paradise for kids just outside the city centre. No sounds of cars or the hustle of the city, just fresh air and singing birds. The restaurant staff are efficient and professional, the food is freshly made and quite delicious, we had a lovely breakfast. Will definitely call again.

We attended an 80th birthday celebration. Was held under the nomadic tent and catered by the venue. Canapes, fresh fruit, wraps, etc. Food was tasty and well presented. Service could have been a bit more organised. They were still laying the food tables after the guests arrived. But a beautiful venue and worth a visit. They are not licenced but unsure of whether you can bring your own. We've been for breakfast previously and loved the setting, food and relaxed atmosphere. One can take a walk through the garden and can do a picnic as well. Serene spot away from the rat race

A lush country garden with mystic themes, quaint buildings and intriguing winding stone pathways through dense trees and shrubs. Lovely secluded picnic lawns and a tea garden with Olde world charm. A bucket list for a special picnic or tea garden treat with fascinating garden walks.

Despite the fact that they were short staffed due to the taxi strike and having to battle through loadshedding, the waiters managed to carry out their duties with a smile. Yes the food did take long to come but the beautiful and serene atmosphere and good company more than made up for that. I take my hat off to the waiters on the day who were run off their feet but still done a marvelous job.

Beautiful hidden little restaurant in Constantia. Incredible service from all the staff especially Prince who took a liking to my 92 year old granny. Incredibly tasty well-priced food. Beautiful surroundings.

We took friends to Little Stream Restaurant for lunch today. It has a fairytale setting, so pretty and green and cool and peaceful. The food was great and a delightful waitron. Can’t wait to go there again. 👌👍🏻

What terrible service. We arrived there at 10am. Took our order and eventually 12:15 decided to leave. After asking a few times what is going on, response that they have a function on. May I add I have a 2 year old and a 7 month old. Leaving my toddler thirsty and grumpy! Little stream will not see us again.

So, I read the reviews but went anyway. Unfortunately it was exceptionally average. <br/>It was raining but we booked breakfast for a friend's birthday. We were the only table and service was still slow. The blueberry hotcakes came they didn't have the maple syrup and cappuccino butter as advertised. This was not mentioned when ordering. Rather annoying, how hard can it be to make especially when your breakfast menu is so small. They did manage to scare up some plain syrup which was sorely needed as the 'hotcakes' were dry. <br/>The salmon eggs Benedict was a generous portion of salmon but that's where the compliment ends. In summer I'm sure it will be busy but it won't be for the food or the service

Repost of a family member: Our visit to The Little Stream on Sunday, 10 April 2016 was in lieu of my Moms 82nd birthday celebrations. Having made the booking the day before, and having once again confirmed it on the morning of the visit, it was explicitly noted that a group of ten would be coming for tea and cake. A list of cakes had been requested the day before which all sounded great. On arrival, we were greeted by tables that were set up in what could quite easily be described as a sand pit. Despite the beautiful lush lawns so aptly displayed on the website, we set aside this somewhat unpleasant factor to pursue the purpose of our visit. Well things very quickly turned from bad to worse. Having requested some glasses and an ice bucket, a soup bowel filled with ice was left on the table alongside the ice bucket, which once again we set aside. On ordering two cold meat and cheese boards, the waiter returned to inform us that there were no cheeses or meats available. This led to some extremely tense moments following which I had then begun engaging with the staff in the kitchen quarters. I expressed my embarrassment to all asunder. On enquiring about the cakes available whilst in the kitchen, I was then also told that there were no more scones available, there was eight slices of cake left, and chocolate brownies that very clearly had been left uncovered for the entire day, exposed to the elements.. This was turning out to be the worst garden tea experience ever. I requested to speak to someone in charge, who then miraculously indicated that there was sufficient ingredients to make up the two cheese boards... Well the less said about the boards, the better... The manager at this point had been contacted to purchase another cake, which arrived in due course, and which was just as quickly dispersed amongst our table and others who had arrived after also in search of some afternoon tea and cake.<br/>What an extremely disappointing experience. One could hardly offer an opinion on the gardens, since the garden tea area has most certainly not been integrated into the lush lawn area ... By the way we had been told that should we wish to sit on the lush green grass areas, the waiters do not serve guests in that area...<br/>The service in this Constantia establishment was poor, I felt like I was in part managing the table.... The food below standard... No ambience to speak of, though the guests at the table were most gracious and found the humor in what was clearly the most aweful garden tea experience that I along with 8 guests had been to in Cape Town... And the saddest part is that I don't even think that the management of the establishment fully understood this... Just such a disappointing experience

Always loved walking in little forest, had no idea there was a awesome little place for Sunday breakfast! Doesn't get better than this place, outdoors and great service and food! I know where I will be every Sunday mornings

Little Stream is a hidden gem in the middle of Constantia. To be fair, I like the scenery more than anything else. It's like stepping out of the real world and into a wonderland...literally like almost falling down the rabbit hole. The garden is exquisite and peaceful like you won't believe. The property is HUGE, even though it doesn't seem like it from a distance which is why I took so many pictures.<br/>However, even though the views are great, and the atmosphere is peaceful, even though the waitress was friendly, the service was quite slow and it wasn't crowded or anything. It seemed like there were only two waitresses wondering around. The food was average-mac and cheese and the quiche. Next time when I go back I think it will be for the cake and the scenery more than anything else. Also the menu could use more variety. I didn't see any chicken options there except for chicken wings on the kiddies menu.

Such a cute little restaurant. Lovely to meander around afterwards or before and take in the scenery. The menu is small but the food is fresh and delicious

Sweet little restaurant (not located at #26 as stated on the app) but at the END of the road! They are pet friendly 🐶 which is always a win for me. Beautiful to sit under the big trees - very friendly staff. The coffee is VERY strong - I like strong coffee but this wasn't too great. The scones weren't bad - a little hard. It's a sweet little place 🌿 always lovely to sit outside and not be in a mall or staring at a parking lot

Had a very disappointing experience the other day - kitchen wasn't interested in providing a vegetarian breakfast option (we were told just to order a croissant with jam), four of the six breakfasts arrived, and then we waited another twenty five minutes for one more to arrive, and another ten minutes after that for the last one. There were only three other tables there, and the explanation we were given was that the kitchen was very busy. I'm saddened by this, because it really is SUCH a beautiful location.

Good, wholesome farm style food. Everything there is made with effort, and is delicious. Thick bacon slices, always a win in my book! Don't expect fine dining. Casual, chilled vibe.

The little stream is a proper hidden gem and a nature/flower lover’s paradise. It’s a really great little spot if you’re looking for a tea and cake kinda a vibe, followed by a pretty stroll through the gardens afterwards. It’s the kind of place you go to with your girlfriends/ your mom / your sister. Lovely!

Beautiful grounds and lovely setting but always way to full for my liking. Food is nice without being fantastic. I would go back for the beautiful and peaceful environment but only during work hours when I knew it wouldn't be packed with people - it attracts many young families with its enormous garden areas for exploring.

When this little venue was run by its previous management we went there often and were always very impressed. Some English guests of ours went there shortly after the new owners took over and were not impressed. We decided to test it last Friday for lunch and were very surprised. I had the burger which was very well made and tasty with great chips. Michele had the chicken salad which was one of the best she has had for a while, good size so she took some home. Overall a pleasant experience, the Peacock coffee isn't great!
