Excellent tapas beautifully presented and reasonably priced given the quality. Our waiter Peter was courteous and attentive to our group of five. We ordered most of the tapas options, all of which were very tasty. Table favourite was probably the duck croquettes followed by the beef short rib and grilled calamari. Such a lovely way to enjoy good food. We’ll be back!

Celebrated my birthday here .the restaurant is so nice very cosy also .I enjoyed my mussels but my boyfriend complained about how small his sirloin was ...the waiter was super friendly and efficient
First time here and food and service were amazing! Will definitely be hack for some great tapas. Need more of these kind of tapas restaurants in the Northern Suburbs
The best kept secret about La Parada Constantia is the light and airy section known as the ‘former Harbour House’. Sit here to escape the rowdy terrace crowds and enjoy stunning views over the valley. The menu offers tasty snacks, tapas and mains to satisfy all tastes. Great service too.
Been there twice already within a week's time! Great vibe with Spanish music playing in the background. The tapas were delicious. I tend to have a preference for the outside seating for its amazing views. Would definitely visit again!
What a jol!
We came here on a Sunday evening. The setting is great and the music ramped up over the course of the evening. We had a mussel dish that was quite delicious.
As the sun set the music turned up and it because a dance party that all enjoyed. I'll definitely be back!
Really had an amazing time! The food was great, thoroughly enjoyed the calamari, steak and prawn tapas! I can’t wait to come back. The vibe and atmosphere was incredible.
A really nice place- like an old English pub with an edge. Tapas food and a casual vibe. We shared a few plates of tapas- the prawns stood out for me. The others liked the pork belly. Presentation was gorgeous
Although the service could do with some improvement it is a beautiful restaurant with delicious food! The portion sizes tend to differ every time I go back to the restaurant and order for example the sesame seared tuna so they need to work on consistency... Cocktails are delicious however!
Great food and service! Especially enjoy the ham croquetas, calamares fritos, pork belly, roasted butternut and patatas bravas. Also my new favorite drink is the gin and tonic cocktail. I think this La Parada is the best of the 3! Tried camps bay after and wasn’t as impressed
They have the most amazing food. Three of us went and we had ordered main meals each and when we got the food it was sooooo much(not complaining though). Two people can eat off one main meal. Oh and their ham croquetas are to die for. Its has a great vibe for the family or a nice chill evening with friends. They are quite pricey but honestly so worth it! The service was fantastic and the staff were so helpful and friendly. I will definitely be coming back!!

What a spectacular view to enjoy the end of the Constantia wine route. The portions where a little shy for me, even with the tapas theme but that’s me! My kingklip was utterly delicious and thoroughly enjoyed.
Great, delicious tapas. We had fried calamari, tuna, a salad & chili potatoes.
Service a tad slow. And for the prices that one pays, the toilets can & should be upgraded!
We come here quite a bit for cocktails and are never disappointed by the quality. The prices for the beer is a bit steep but the wine as well as cocktails are fairly priced.
As for service, we have never really had poor service until our last visit. She wasn't attentive at all, we had to wait ages for everything. We ended up asking other waiters to serve us. Eventually we moved tables and had a great waiter, who was very attentive and very friendly.
The tapas weren't mind blowing. The olives we ordered were very bitter, and the poached egg was pretty standard/boring.
The ambiance is quite vibey though.
In summary, I enjoy this place for a casual cocktail or two.
yesterday was my first time experiencing this hotspot, and wow was it packed! to be I’d definitely go back, on a less busier day. the weather was lit, which was a good thing. the quality of drinks were top notch too. the only negative is that is crazy full, as in it was uncomfortably full.
Be careful what you order as things get nasty quite quickly. I've been to this La Parada four or five times now and granted on a busy Sunday afternoon you can forgive the kitchen for being a little lax. Perhaps I've been ruined by my recent trip to Spain, but slapping "bravas" sauce on deep fried nibbles does not make tapas. With the Harbour House next door, introduce more fresh seafood on the menu - simple plates of anchovies are a great juxtaposition to deep friend morsels of cheese and chorizo. But, compliments where due - the churros are proper.
Sunday vibes are bit up it's own arse and pretentious, but then again one has to play to the market. Happy to go back, but will pick my times more wisely.
Arrived at La Parada after a relaxing Sunday drive through woodlands in constantia. The restaurant was vibrant and exciting with life. There was a distinct scent of jubilation in the air. The band was playing popular music with an Afro twist to it. We were seated next to the stage, which was quite a busy area. I ordered tapas to eat this was the; salt and pepper fried calamari, prawn croquetas and the honey and thime roasted butternut.
The salt and pepper calamari, was fresh, it had a nice lemon zest and tender crumb to it. The prawn croquetas were cooked well through, the tomato aioli is not strong. Makes it a comfortable dish to enjoy. The butternut was sweet and soft, it was a great compliment to the main tapas.
Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon
Had our company year end dinner here last year. The food was really good, although we had the tapas to cater for the large crowd, the food went by very quickly. For my first time there, I enjoyed it and would be keen to try more meals.
We were a little early for our reservation at Chefs Warehouse so stopped for a quick glass of wine...
And nearly cancelled our reservation lol!
Absolutely loved the atmosphere!
We sat inside at the bar, the fire was roaring and so warm!
The serving staff so friendly, smiling and rushing to open doors and make you feel welcome!
The husband had a coffee which smelt heavenly! And i opted for a glass of Franschhoek merlot which was an insanely great way to start the evening!
What a vibrant and yet cozy, atmosphere!
We will definitely be back!
On a sunny day with friends is a perfect spot, especially sitting outside. Downside is the slightly chaotic feeling when it's time to order and receive the food. A couple of waiters delivered to our tables dishes for somebody else , and between ordering drinks and food we waited way too long to have the attention of our waiter. He was very kind and seemed awake , so when our plates came we realized there was a problem with the kitchen since few dishes weren't complete ( we were three guests and we all had the same pork belly, but two were missing onions and other two were missing the apple sauce). On top of it all our dishes came all together ,filling up the whole table, quite uncomfortable. In honesty we only ordered tapas and side dishes, three for each guest, but if I was the waiter (or the kitchen) I would have divided the order to facilitate the table. The whole experience was fun, we had a laugh on these hiccups, but I wouldn't go in a couple looking for a relaxing time.
The tapas selection at La Parada is fantastic.
Last night, we had the roasted pork belly, the chorizo, the patatas bravas (roast potato chips with homemade tomato sauce and a garlic aioli), the salt and pepper fried calamari, the beef shin croquetas and the tomato salad (with dill labneh and pine nuts).
I would say my favourite dish was the calamari- lightly fried, crisp and delicious. The tomato salad was also a hit- so light, fresh and tasty.
We ended the meal with churros which were warm, crispy and not too stodgy.
The food is delicious, the vibe is great, the drink list is extensive and the service is usually good, so why I have not given 5/5? The prices. The tapas are small and pricy and the platos principales are ridiculously expensive, R295 for chicken seems crazy.
Was mine and my family's first time here, and I've been dying to come to eat a meal as opposed to just coming for drinks!
It was really really fantastic! We ordered a round of 6 tapas and were so impressed we ordered them again! We had the grilled calamari, the tuna, the chorizo, roast potato chips, the fish as well as the pork! All were amazing, special shout out to the fish and calamari! We then ordered desserts to share, the cheesecake and the churros, out of this world!
Our waiter was on the ball! I would give 5/5 but I felt it was a bit pricey for small portions even though they are tapas!
All in all I will be coming back!!
Lovely setting. We had to wait quite a while for our food. There isn't too many vegetarian options, but the patas bravas was delicious. The standout was definitely the dessert - we had the doughnut. Really yummy with lots of components and reasonable priced for what was given.
Wow delicious tapas! I would definitely recommend the line fish, pulled pork, tuna and the calamari. They are all good and very hard to choose from but for me those were my favorite. We also tried the churros and cheese cake delicious! Service very good and helpful when choosing what to eat, felt well looked after and the manager was always checking that everyone was alright.
Great Tapas style eats on the menu. Good wine selection and some craft beers. Visited on a Sunday evening and it was bustling so service was on the slow side. There was a dj/band that creates a vibe if you're looking for somewhere up beat.
Went for the first time recently. The vibe is great, restaurant was very full. Service was quite slow so we kept having to look for the waiter, maybe they should get some more staff. Nice place to indulge in good tapas. I would recommend some more options that aren't so deep fried
Pretty tapas spot in constantia. It's a lovely setting and we would have sat outside had it not been for the weather. The staff are friendly and helpful when deciding what to order. I do find their menu quite limited, that being said the tapas we did have were terrific. We shared the salt and pepper calamari and patatas bravas. They were good portions and more than enough for two people. But the churros truly won me over. I'm not really a fan of churros but these ones were served fresh and warm - straight from the deep-fryer. Will definitely go back to have them again!
Always such a bustling vibe here! Restaurant is always busy, and staff are always efficient...today we had the pork belly, homemade grilled chorizo with patata bravas (potatoes), squid and mojitos(I had non alcoholic). The food was delicious, the drinks were yum and the atmosphere was upbeat. Nothing to complain about at all!
The venue is nice for lunch on a sunny afternoon. It can get quite hot so you'll want to go when it's not boiling outside. A mild summer afternoon is best. The food (Tapas) is good. There are a variety of different options to choose from. The portion sizes are decent (1 Tapas is big enough for two people to share and I recommend that you order a few of the dishes so that you can try different things from their menu). Lots of flavours and textures to enjoy. The croquettes are my personal favourite. There are affordable wine options available which is great. On average, you can expect to spend between R200 - R250 per person for a few Tapas dishes (4-6 dishes) to share including drinks.
Blistering hot day so we were lucky to sit under an umbrella on the terrace. Music spanish and jazzy, nice vibe overall. The waiter relaxed and friendly, not rushed at all. We just kept ordering tapas from their list of delicious choices. Line fish (Steenbrass) and tuna absolute best choice. Chorizo ok, not very spicy. Grilled Calamari delicious! Craft beers on tap to cool you down. We had a lovely and long lunch. Pity that Zomato indicates that lunch is only from 12 to 2PM. This is NOT the case. Kitchen is open from 12 noon to 22H00 (I asked)!
"Thank you so much for coming"...that's a greeting two customers received when they were shown their table. Big win! After aborting my run less than halfway into what was supposed to be a 45km training run- pesky ankle. I was in need of some much-needed tlc. I was parked at Constantia Nek where said run started, La Parada stared lovingly my way. If memory serves me, this was a hotel before, which burnt down...ok details are fuzzy- what I do know is that the place has been transformed into two trendy restaurants. Tapas- inspired La Parada and for the posher client, Harbour House.
Had an awesome flat white and the croissant with scrambled eggs, trout and a dill cream thingie. Super tasty and great value for money. It seems that everything the Harbour House group touches, turns to gold ...Good job guys.
I've had some excellent evenings here. The food is wonderful and the venue is very vibey. I have also been here during the day and been quite disappointed. The daytime service is very lacking. Our waiter repeated our order wrong 3 times and then brought the wrong coffees. Evening service is great never had an issue.
So excited to have La Parada in our neck of the woods. I'm a sucker for tapas, an outdoor setting and a vibe so full marks for all 3. The tapas were super tasty and a few of the portions were bigger than we expected - which we were obviously thrilled with. Very keen to go back for a Sunday brunch vibe.
I don't have a bad thing to say about La Parada.... the setting is fantastic for a chilled lunch with friends, the food was very good (we tried numerous tapas and nothing was worse than decent) and the service was fair. Definitely worth trying out for a slow afternoon lunch sitting outside when the sun is out!
We had a lovely evening at la parada on friday evening , loved the wine list so affordable amd lovely options to pic from ! Had a beautiful merlot and pinotage blend ! Definitely gong back for more wine !
We sat inside on a very windy day. Great decor and vibe. Outside area would also be good on a summer day.
Wide selection of tapas. This can get a bit pricey as you do tend to order more. Best shared in a group. There were 4 of us.
Service was good and we were given recommendations when stuck for choice.
All the food was fantastic. Fresh, tasty, well presented. Hard to find a favourite dish. Particularly loved the poached egg on wild mushroom, but the salmon was also fresh and tasty and the croquettes had you coming back for more!
Don't think you can go wrong regardless of which tapas dish you choose
I'm going to give this place a 4 even though we hardly ate; it is a tapas joint after all. It is sitting in the most beautiful spot I've seen in a while! I was always a little reluctant to come because it came across "larney" but it's completely the opposite! Such a lovely restaurant with a really beautiful sitting area outside!
La Parada have done a beautiful job with renovating the old Constantia New restaurant. It's a beautiful setting for a glass of wine and some tapas on a sunny day, which I did with some friends during the holidays. We shared a bottle of Buiten Blanc and a selection of tapas - the roasted tomato salad, seared tuna and mushrooms with quail egg. All the dishes were tasty and fresh, and the service was friendly. Can't wait to try the Harbour House next door!

Was so excited to try out the new venue and we went last night: exquisite venue! Beautiful setting and love the fairy lights in the trees. The food was completely amazing! So tasty and interesting and great presentation of dishes👌🏼👌🏼 I have to say though, the desserts were a COMPLETE let down: they sound so great on the menu, but are in fact completely uninspiring and not well executed. Quite an anti climax :( but definitely can't wait to go back for more tasty dishes!
Such an amazing setting! Really great atmosphere. Love the decor inside and outside. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is great and presented well. Wasn't too much going on with the salad, very bland and plain so I wouldn't order that again. In general, a very nice experience!

Situated in Constantia Nek La parada has such a beautiful setting and fun atmosphere. Upon arrival the restaurant was busy and very full, the staff took my details and put us on the waiting list for a table. One of the downsides is that you can't book in advance, they only allow you to book for tables of 15 people or more. We waited for about 15-20min before we were seated. I had the grilled calamari and a side salad which was very delicious and my friends had the pork belly, the fried calamari- pork belly was a hit but the fried calamari was apparently not that great. The service was also a tad bit slow but overall it was a pleasant and fun experience, will definitely be back!
Couldn't wait to try this place out.
We visit hout bay regularly and the location is perfect to stop off on the way there or back.
The decor is quirky and modern with plenty of tables outdoors for a spot of Al fresco dining.
You only get a view of the road but luckily the food is pretty as a picture so you will probably be more interested in looking at the plate.
We had breakfast on this occasion smoked salmon and the frittata both were ample portions and full of flavour.
Only negative thing was the lengthy time we had to wait to get the bill.
They've just opened so I think they are still refining the art of defining which waiters should stick to which tables but honestly it wasn't something to out me off as we had such a nice meal.
Will be back for dinner soon!
The place has a Vibey atmosphere but I find their very limited wine-by-the-glass menu frustrating. There are some good wines on the list that could easily be offered by the glass as well as the bottle.
This is a new restaurant. Beautiful setting and easy to access from the main road. Ample parking.
Tapas menu with plenty of choices. No bookings taken except for tables of 15 or more. Portions were good. The beef fillet was OK a bit of the dry side. Definitely recommend the salt & pepper squid. If you like vegetables then order the sides.
The service needs to be better.
This restaurant has recently become one of my favourites. The food is magnificent- tastes wonderful and is aesthetically pleasing- the view is out of the world and the service is fantastic!
Two things. One, Constantia Nek restaurant looks awesome now. Two, probably the best service I had all year. Tapas were great as well as the ambiance. A must visit if you're in the area as a post-wine tasting dive.
The relaxed atmosphere and tasty tapas make La Parada such an ideal dinner spot! The Constantia La Parada has a nice open outside area which is perfect for the Cape Town summer. The tapas are quite large and great for sharing. The fried calamari was definitely the highlight of the meal, with the beef fillet coming in at a close second.
What a lovely surprise! We came here sporadically on a Thursday afternoon for lunch and were blown away by absolutely everything we had. We ordered the beef shin croquettes, prawn croquettes, patatas bravas (AMAZING - just like the Spanish ones), and the salt and pepper calamari. Everything was delicious! The only downside was that the waiter was a bit slow with drinks and things, but overall a wonderful experience.
This is a very nice new spot!
It is clean and fresh and it is something different! My boyfriend and I treated ourselves to dinner here last week Sunday, it was incredibly busy as there was an event happening outside. It was very vibey and young. I'm not sure if this happens every Sunday or if it was just this particular day.
We did not make a booking but they happily found us a table straight away! I must say it was quite noisy because of the party happening outside but we really didn't mind that.
It was very cosy inside with a homely feel to it.
We ordered the calamari, sides of greens, octopus salad and the line fish tapas. It was amazing. The best calamari I have ever had. The softest texture, you didn't even need to chew! It just melts in your mouth. The veggies were a bit bland but overall absolutely amazing.
It is definitely a place to treat yourself as it is a bit pricey.
Delicious food and very friendly staff!
I liked the relaxed atmosphere and the various tapas on offer. The food is served so nicely really looks stunning. Definitely going back! The coffee is also very good.
Went on a Tuesday night and it was heaving! No tables were available so we sat at the bar. Great service and I loved all the tapas dishes we ordered. Great venue well organised kitchen, bar staff on the ball. Really enjoyed the experience as a whole. Will be back soon!
Went there with a few friends last week for lunch and we were pleasantly surprised. The portions didn't seem big enough for one person so we ordered a bunch of tapas and shared it between ourselves. The food was amazing and it was awesome trying a bit of everything. Employees are all friendly but the manager needs to work on his attitude towards customers and employees. Otherwise it was a great experience and lovely scenery!
Had a lovely summer evening at the new venue very vibey and busy. Pork belly was amazing, beef croquets so good, crispy squid delicious all the tapas we tried I just want to go back for more. Seating is very tight though. Everyone I was with got very annoyed cause you get bumped a lot. Venue is true to the original building. Can't wait to go back for another cold glass of vino
So, finally a new lease on life at Constantia Nek, sharing premises with a third Harbour House.
The tapas were absolutely delectable, and the portions were reasonably sized. Good friendly service and fairly small but varied menu. Lovely indoor/ outdoor vibe with great background music creating a relaxed upmarket ambiance. Not for anyone on a budget though!!! 😂
Looks set to become a firm favorite amongst the locals and Constantia wine route visitors alike. La Parada serves up nicely plated tapas and good wine (or craft beer or cocktails). The food is good overall (but the pork belly we had was dry and uninspired). We had four tapas between the two of us and left feeling satisfied. Service was adequate but because it's actually a really large restaurant their kitchen was running behind and the waiting time for food was around 40 minutes. But you won't care when you're sitting outside soaking up the sun and views from Constantia Nek. A solid new offering on the route to Hout Bay and the perfect stopover after tasting some wine at any of the nearby farms.
Excellent tapas and great vibe, even mid-week! Place will be booming in Summer, especially their outside area. Recommend the beef fillet and ham croquettes.
Good service, good food, good vibe. Would expect nothing less from the Harbour House Group. Definitely draws an older crowd, but I think everyone from the 'Burbs' will be happy to have a viby go-to place closer to home. Their wine list could do with some work; not a single light-medium bodied red on the list only the heavy stuff, but happy to have a new suburbia hangout.
We went to La Parada for drinks and a snack. The setting is great, but the wine list is standard and very disappointing. It doesn't match up to the restaurant's location or reputation
La Parada:
La Parada is possible one of if not my favourite tapas bar in the city. I'm obsessed with their deep-fried ham and cheese balls, their grilled peppers with anchovies on toast and of course their bacon wrapped prawns are always a hit!
They also make a pretty mean cocktail, I had the lemongrass daiquiri.

I felt very welcomed coming to La Parada.
Waiter was friendly and very helpful.
The wine was very nice (not too generous though)
I ordered the Tuna Poke Bowl and I have to say it was not the tastiest I have had.
It was bland and the fish was not prepared well. However it was edible.
Maybe they should stick to their more traditional foods which I presume is beef.
We had a great time, the food was great and so was the service. We ordered tapas to share: prawns, short rib, pork belly, fried calamari, and fries - all divine in their own way!
this place was great. Good wine great atmosphere. Especially sitting outside was great. The hop on hop off busses pass just right in front of the place so its very convenient.
Everything was perfect 👌🏼
The food was delicious also the staff and service was great 👍🏼
I've tried prawns pasta and calamari&prawns pizza 🍕
Took my girlfriend there for a surprise date.
It was amazing honestly. Breathtaking view, food and cocktails.
I recommend this for anyone who wants to take there friends or family for a nice meal with some good background music and nice atmosphere.
You will see me again.
Amazing location. Great selection of foods and drinks. Awesome vibe on a Sunday.
The food was very nice and was served without waiting too long. The waiters were all very friendly.
They have free WiFi and the location is quite good since there is a City Sightseeing bus stop just outside. You can jump off for a quick snack/meal then jump onto the next bus in 20 mins or so once you’re done.
We had a booking for a big crowd and they went as far as having two tables prepared for us, one inside and one outside for us to choose from. The food and music was good and service too. Great views for pictures 👍
Everything was great, love the food, service was great, atmosphere superb,👏👏👏
Had a quick dinner at La Parada. Not completely tapas experience, however the food is of good level. The waiter Lovell was very helpful and created a relaxed, but excellent atmosphere. Good service overall.
