I spent 2 nights in Colesberg and had supper both evenings at Bordeaux and can honestly say that I wish we had a restaurant that serves real country food of this quality in Capetown. The first night I ordered the Venison Pie with Samp and Veg. It was absolutely outstanding. The second night I ordere
Love the food, you have to stop here, even the accommodation is great for a stay overnight. Real old house with pressed steel sealing.
Our first stop on our road trip and we had supper at Bordeaux restaurant. We shared the Skaapstertjies which was so juicy and tender. Then the 3 of us had Boontjie-bredie, Chicken pie and Lamb curry. Incredibly tasty and big portions were given. We went to our guest house very full but very content.
Lovely little spot for a stop over on the road, definitely nicer than a roadhouse. Great selection of drinks and food, in a character house of the old town.
Edit: 3 year laters and the mutton pie is still delicious and the service is still super friendly and good. Plus the thickest dom pedros ever. Original: I had the Mutton Pie with rice and veg and my partner had the lamb burger. Both were delicious. Fast and friendly service and beautiful historic b
We stayed over last night in Colesberg and the food and hospitality were excellent. We will eat here again on our way home
Food was very good. Our party of 8 was very happy with their meal.
Great meal during our Colesburg stopover. Cozy atmosphere and Great Karoo hospitality. Felicia made us feel so welcome… she lit a fire for us on a cold Winter’s evening, and was most attentive throughout. Meal was delicious local fare with ample portions.
What a lovely lunch experience. The food, lambshank, and lamb chops were delicious. It is highly recommended.
Lovely food and friendly service. True Karoo hospitality. The town and the restaurant was neet and clean. Will definitely stop there again!
History and good food comes together here. Excellent service and food. A visit is a must whenever in Colesberg. Keep up the quality and service!!
Awesome lamb shank. Lamb is definitely a Karoo speciality. Atmosphere and hospitality a bit average. Owners/managers were cold and aloof. But the quality of the food makes up for the cold atmosphere.
Quaint local gem. The outdoor area is particularly cozy with a garden setting with stunning fairy lights in the evenings. Excellent service. Good food. Felt very secure and relaxed.
Great service, delicious food! They also had a fire place which was welcome when it was so cold!
It was open early 08h00 for breakfast on a Monday morning and the breakfast was great and the coffee tasted like it smelled. Divine. I will definitely go there again.
The food was exquisite, service very good, portions big, prices very reasonable.
