Review Woolworths Cafe - Claremont

Matthew Stewart
Great Service and I enjoyed my Chicken Strips with French Fries, Tomato Sauce and a Coke Zero. I will definitely recommend this!
Liesl Prinsloo
Very friendly and attentive service. Delicious coffee. Delicious, well-priced food. The corn and cheese waffle was perfection.

A really great strong and good quality coffee served here.

I really appreciated the friendly and understanding service today. đŸ™đŸœđŸŒ»

It's always a great time and the food tastes amazing.
Michelle Macleod
Excellent service and very accommodating. The food is freshly prepared offering a varied menu. Choose from the menu for lunch or select and dish your own from the buffet table. The restaurant is situated on the lower ground and is wheelchair accessible

Nice cafe with very nice food. It is also nice to go and get coffee and some lunch. It is more busy in the mornings but there are often a few people there for lunch either for the buffet or the very nice food on the menu. This place has a great atmosphere usually is the morning. It is also nice because you can get a takeaway coffee when you are on the go.

Have the free-range beef burger. Trust me. Just do it. Better than any burger joint I’ve been to. Haven’t tasted anything else on the menu because this is too good not to get every time.

I love Woolworths I do all our shopping there.BUT I do hope they listen when I asked please put music lower. loud music is invasive. One can't think clearly & makes one spend less time.spent there shopping which would otherwise be pleasant experience.I tend to think the music is more aimed at keeping staff happy certainly not customers. So please, powers that be. Do your job & see its very soft, pleasant & conducive to relaxing shopping . Best coffee in Waterfront.

Harvest table was incredible, but just quite pricey so just be careful when eyes become bigger than your stomach. Staff are friendly, although it can get quite busy and service may have to be requested.

What a pleasure it is to frequent Cavendish Squares’ coffee shop. Their staff is absolutely amazing, from the manager, Winston to the rest of the staff, namely: Cindy (ever so helpful), Michùlle, Shauna, Wellington, TK (always smiling) and Olwethu. They all go an extra mile to see that we are happy. This is the best place to just switch off!

Good location, easy to find and situated in quiet nook in what can be a high traffic area. Friendly staff, good service. While not an extensive menu, the available options are very well presented and well prepared. I was disappointed that I couldn't get the crispy chicken burger, but the beef burger I had was pretty decent. Good value for money.

I had a quick bite to eat here this afternoon. I had a some salad, which was maybe a bit too simple! Basically Tomatoe, Lettuce and some cheese. My daughter had the cheese toasted sandwhich, which was nice. I really enjoyed the ice spiced chai and my daughter liked the green drink (whatever that was). Not too bad, but not wonderful either.

I got a takeaway of some stuff from the harvest table today and it was just okay I guess. I would really appreciate if the harvest table had more gluten free options.
Otherwise, I really enjoyed the beetroot and double cream yoghurt “salad”. It was quite an interesting take on beetroot. ✹
I also appreciated that the cutlery is biodegrable. #savetheplanet yes!!

A little busy as it was lunch time, but we only waited about 15 minutes till we were seated. One of the best cups of cappuccino I've had in a very long time. I highly recommend the vanilla and cinnamon cappuccino. All round an enjoyable experience and will definitely visit again soon.

Had the frozen honey nut latte and a breakfast wrap. The latte was really good, the flavours were spot on. The breakfast wrap sounded better than it tasted. The amount of egg on the wrap was a bit overwhelming and the tomatoes and other contents were at the bottom of the wrap, so that was a bit crappy.
Our waiter was super! So helpful and friendly :-)

I think woolworths cafe is really nice if you want a light delicious meal, nothing too hectic. My personal favourites are the Cajun chicken burger as well as the Lamb burger... However, I had brunch here today and I had the roast chicken salad which was an EXTREMELY small portion size, it actually resembled a starter to me, yet it was priced like a main. So I had quite an underwhelming experience there today. I would advise having a salad there if you're not very hungry.

Some of the cafes also serve a delicious hot lunch, but this can be pretty pricey (priced on the weight of the plate)

The best Chai Lattes in Cape Town - no, seriously! If you want to find out how good the Woolies Cafe is, just look at the line to get in. Although it is busy, the short wait is well-worth it! Their breakfasts are amazing and they always have a good selection at the lunch buffet. With their separate coffee counter, they have made it so easy for busy people to grab quick meals on the go. My favourite meal used to be the crispy potato cake with creamy basil mushrooms and a poached egg - until they took it off the menu. Please bring it back, Woolworths!

At Cavendish this arvie to see Liam Nielson’s latest “The Commuter” (so-so) and with dinner waiting for me this evening I settled for Woolies’ restaurant and opted for a rather funky-sounding smashed peas with feta and mint open saamie. Yes, couldn’t resist the challenge and I can confirm it was absolutely delicious. As is so often the case – not only at Woolworths but many other restaurants I’ve been to – the cappuccino was tepid, but no problem for Melody to nuke it chop-chop and bring it back to me with a wide smile. All round a good experience and very well priced to boot.

You can never really go wrong with Woolworths Cafe. It’s a lovely place, great atmosphere, and good for a casual meeting. Huge fan of their soups and pressed juices.
Kim
Enjoyed myself.. I've always been a Spur Fan and never thought I'd find myself at Woolies CafĂš!! Absolute delight.. service was great and it had such a homely cosy vibe as if i could sit there all day long..and food was top notch . Can't wait to again
Michael Cheney
Love their coffee. Really nice selection of different things to try on their menu. Their staff are friendly and check in often enough. Their portion sizes aren't big so don't go expecting to fill yourself for a meal. Having said that their food is well presented and tasty.
Zaahidah Adams
This place is always busy. The staff is good and their food is amazing but then again Woolies everything is amazing. The Salmon trout sandwich Is lovely on wheat bread, and so it’s their freshly or red juice.
Diana Bowen
I'd been here a couple of times and their chicken and mushroom pie was delicious and the chicken cheer bread was nice. I had a scone and a breakfast wrap there as well I go there often because I know there is better food quality and the staff is friendly and the place is busy at lunch and breakfast time and the service is good as well.
Emmerentia Du Plessis
After work coffee with Shahieda (lunch too short for post holiday catch-up).
Food - Smashed Avo Toast for me. Scone with jam and cream for her.
Drinks - flat white for me. Tall Chai Latte for her.
I can not fault the food or the drinks but the service left much to be desired - I understand it was towards the end of the day, but we would've liked more attentive service.
Adrian Kaplan
interesting experience at Cavendish branch today. Food is always top class but today they were out of oranges, pineapple, avo, celery and other items making it exceptionally difficult to order. I asked why they couldn't just pop into the food hall and buy these ingredients....instead I got a blank stare.
Supervundu
Surprisingly good if not a little inconsistent at times. I never imagined myself enjoying eating at a supermarket restaurant, but the clever people at Woolies have extended their brand promise/delusion with aplomb. Woolies coffee is definitely to my taste. Interesting breakfast options too. A regular weekend shop-stop.
Nicole Andrews
Always love a fresh tasty brunch from woolies cafe with a delicious coffee. I've never been disappointed and I go quite often. Staff is always friendly and enjoying their job(well I hope lol) One of my absolute fav places.
Milou
My friend and I loved stopping here for coffee between classes, and I even had a birthday tea here with select friends - the white chocolate cake was that delicious. But was vastly put off when a chai smoothie tasted somewhat of fish. We pointed it out and management replaced it, but the fishy aftertaste stayed the same. Our guess is that someone didn't clean out equipment properly. Haven't been back since.

I do love Woolworths. Well the food side to be specific. And especially the food at their cafes. Such an inspired and creative menu... And delicious. Just mentioning that I haven't found better scones in the whole of cape town. However I have always been flummoxed by the service. Extremely slow and often just being blatantly ignored. Not this time. Huge shout out to Cindy one of the friendliest waitresses I've had. Not all up in your face but sensitive and attentive. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
Unopa Mazwigwila
It's quite organic and I enjoyed that about woolies cafe. It is such a busy place and it's always full. It's family friendly. It has the normal cafe atmosphere and the service is beautiful.
Lauren Niekerk
One of my favourite cafes! I usually come here for breakfast and have to come in early on a weekend to get a table because it's quite popular and can get really packed! Service has always been great. I ordered the eggs Benedict on mushroom with honey glazed bacon. They were very accommodating with my sister and allowed her to build her own breakfast of honey glazed bacon, mushroom and chips. No complaints here. Love this place!
Shamin
Nothing beats a Woolies coffee when I am away from my own machine. Avo on LOW GI bread is a perfect start to the morning. Service is the best I have received at a Woolworths cafe
Adamhfuller
For me any Woolies cafe is a default place to pop in for a quick meal when there are no obvious alternatives. You can trust the food quality. The menu is interesting. Recently I have found that the service lets them down quite a bit. It can be so sloooow. Annoying especially since this is a gobble and go venue. The Harvest table also seems to have slipped a little. Still great spots and low risk !!
Capetown_restaurants
As always the food was delicious (and this chocolate and pistachio cheesecake was no exception), however the service remains really slow and you have to practically beg for your food and then later on the bill. A bit annoying but the food keeps me coming back.
Lauren
All I want to say is I love coming to this Woolies but like 3 times ive had the rudest waiter in the history of mankind. Im not a rude person but I hate his face, does it kill to smile and be friendly!? Anyway now I've ranted and I can go on with life :)
Eleni
Although this Woolworths cafe gets super busy, their buffet is always wonderful. All the food is of typical Woolworths quality and the staff definitely go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful experience.
Simone Hasselbach
This place is always packed. Quite a big 'branch' with plenty of seating. Popped in for a quick coffee and cake after shopping. Love that i can order decaf and skinny here and their carrot cake is simply delish!
Lenita Johan
Been for breakfast couple of times. Never disappointed. Might have to wait to be seated however especially during the weekends. Service can also get slow if it's busy. The coffee is good if you just want to sit down and read your newspaper. Not to mention their OJ so good! Bacon potato cake and the breakfast wrap is our all time favorite. Will be back for more.
Jenna Rodd
I absolutely love woolies coffee and their breakfast is always spot on. Their harvest table that they have at lunch is also fantastic (I especially love a chicken and mushroom casserole they make with rice) although it can be quite pricey at R200/kg. Their fresh juices are also delicious. Special mention must go to their delicious breakfast wrap and the honey-mustard chicken and avocado sandwich. I have also tried the quinoa chicken schnitzel which was delicious and served with coleslaw which was a unique twist on a traditional chicken schnitzel and gluten- free. The menu is expansive so there is something for everyone.
Tanweer
One of my favourite coffee shops to chill at. Really enjoyed the flourless chocolate and almond cake although it was a bit pricey for the small portion. The cappuccino was disappointing as it was very milky but the chai spiced and chocolate crushes were lovely.
Sara
I'm a huge Woolworths cafe fan however this particular branch always seems to be out of something. Today they were out of apples, oranges and pears and therefore couldn't make any juices. This seems a bit ridiculous seeing as they're inside a grocery store. The management of this store needs to manage their stock levels a lot better. Other than that the food is always great.
Francesca Favero
I find woolies cafes notoriously slow when it comes to service, but it's not bad at this branch. Lots of nice drinks and baked goods from which to choose. However, it can get a little noisy with all the people walking through the woolies so try get a table further inside the restaurant area.
Ruqaya Gabier
I absolutely love their frosted lattes! Service varies according to which waiter you get, but usually they are accommodating if you're not brought exactly what you ordered. Tuna slaw on ciabatta is one of my favourites and can definitely be shared between two people. I find the salmon bagel a bit dry. They definitely get busy during lunch (and breakfast especially during weekends). A good place for a catch up with a friend or if you're feeling for a relaxed atmosphere in a busy mall.
Jana Van Rensburg
Popped in to get a takeaway white hot chocolate and a coffee. Quick and efficient and very friendly service. A great place to grab a drink and something to eat in between shopping expeditions.
Tarryn Alexis Sher
Absolutely shocking - went with 4 friends and 3 out of the 4 of us couldn't order what we wanted due to no stock. (Lettuce and nutella), staff need to tell customers if they are out of anything. Absolutely disgusting. The service was slow and unacceptable.
Sanelisiwe Sani Sibanyoni
Always uses the freshest of ingredients and maintains a high standard of the ingredients themselves. Thoroughly enjoy their house cake especially the carrot cake!!! It's the best carrot cake I've had my whole life and just about the perfect sugar content with the icing and the sponge. Delightful service & friendly and accommodating staff members! Love, love!
Caryn Edwards
I usually come here just for the coffee. A short honey nut or gingerbread latte is enough to satisfy me. But, as the cheesecake fundi I am, I had to try the double decker cheesecake, the newest addition to the already delightful array of cakes. Decadent, moist, slightly tangy to balance the richness of the chocolate. It's everything a cheesecake should be, and looks even more appealing on Woolies' latest range of earthy crockery. The waiters are always attentive, and the subtle, minimalistic decor is enough to transform this underground spot into a fond corner where I can happily retreat from the commercial hype.
Mosa Mashati
I had the classic rotisserie chicken on white farmhouse bread and it was absolutely delicious. (I added honey glazed bacon to the sandwich)
their new cucumber fresca drink was so refreshing with a hint of lime & ginger!😍 loved it

Woolworths café lives up to the exceptional quality of the Woolworths brand. I love that they're always adding to their menu and improving on their food. They serve simple meals, made well, for a reasonable price.

A delicious light meal would be their mushrooms in a pesto sauce on toast. Their pastas are nothing extraordinary but I had their new veggie burger which was delicious! I firmly believe that you cannot go wrong here!
Glenn Mckay
Pleasant atmosphere and the staff were very professional, friendly and provided all I needed. Management however needs some attention. Between the chef throwing his toys at the staff and making a scene, manager observes it and said nothing. Portion sizes of bacon are rediculous. Asked for 2 portions and still looked like 1.

Woolworths cafe is one of my go to places for a cappu and a slice of baked sweetness. My favourites are the honey&nut or vanilla&cinnamon lattes, just as good frosted. Today I tasted one of the best brownies for just R20. Perfect for an afternoon pick me up.
Robin Mahlangu
Always a nice place to pop in, the freshly made juices are of special mention and the salad portions are very generous. Only downside is that they do not always have in stock what they have on their menu.

Had a really great experience here. Although it was buzzing and packed to capacity, the food was impeccable!

We waited a while to be seated and when we were, we had to wait a lengthy time for our food but it was all worth it.

I ordered the Classic Rotisserie Chicken on rye and a berry, banana, honey and yoghurt smoothie. The open sandwich was of spectacular quality and a hearty portion at that! The smoothie was refreshing and left me wanting more.

Also had their chai latte which is exquisite and their croissant was a 'melt in your mouth' moment. I had a bite of my mother's scone and it had a biscuit texture on the outside but oh-so-soft on the inside!

Great service, even better quality.
Barbara Ann Hall
Thank goodness for Woolies and this carries over into the their restaurant as well. The quality of their food is top notch and I particularly enjoy their buffet table where you can dish what you want and you pay according to weight. Service is always good as the staff is attentive and friendly. A great, reliable place to pop in for coffee or lunch.
Waseem Dawood
they have become overpriced but then cut their portions as well. i used to enjoy their burger but the price has sky rocketed. the coffee is okay and i enjoy their juices but the portions leave a lot to be desired.

I love Woolies Cafe for lunch or to grab a coffee on the way out of Cavendish.

Everything on their menu is tasty and hearty. I like their harvest table at lunch which I think is great value for money or their cakes and my favourite of which is the cheesecake. Lunch time at Woolies Cafe gets quite busy as you can see in one of the pictures below so today I just settled for an iced mocha which was refreshing and gave me the caffeine boost I needed.

I have always had friendly waiters here and service is good.
Megan JoĂŁo (Jacobs)
Visited for lunch yesterday. As a cheese lover I went as I heard about their cheese waffles that have been all the rave, so wanted to try them out myself. I usually just stick to lattes and pastries here.. Unfortunately at 12pm when we were there they had already run out for the day.. :( anyways so we had corn waffles instead. They were quite nice though so that made me feel better. The waitress tried to help and was accommodating and apologetic which I appreciated. Also, I really enjoyed the hibiscus, elderberry, ginger tea! Will definitely be back to go through the rest of the teas.
JonJon Clark
Had the pesto mozerlla toasted flatbread and it was really yummy. Woolworths just never fails to provide you will some good old quality food. Reallly love this brand.
Ashna Dayal
Woolies Cafe is always perfect for a warm treat on a cold day. I always enjoy their vanilla and cinnamon cappuccino. I am a bit disappointed that their menu keeps changing as I was really craving their creamy mushrooms on ciabatta toast and I didn't see it on the menu today. So I ended up getting the toasted ciabatta with basil pesto mushrooms as a topping. It was tasty but not the same as the original. My friend ordered a scone and a cappuccino, which she really enjoyed.
Tabassum Smiley Aleem
All day brealfast palces is always a win. Had a lovely breakfast here last week. It was their second chance as the 1st time i went i was quite disappointed. Had a good cup of coffee and an omelette. Service was good
Riani Deacon
We hada very late lunch and opted for woolies because they never dissapoint and once again they lived up to the standard!! Food was done in a reasonable time and really delicious! You can never go wrong. I will reccomend the quina crusted chicken- different but will change the way jou look at schnitzels!
Zohra
The food is delicious and exquisitely plated. Ordered the eggs benedict and it was just delicious. Service was very friendly. Honestly, I'd definitely go there again. Waiting in line is definitely worth it
Ulisha Moodley
Woolworths is basically my second home. You can always find me shopping my heart out in the retail and food sections. I'm a big fan of the cafe as they have fresh meals off the buffet for when I'm in a hurry and the sit in for a nice breakfast / brunch / lunch. I thoroughly enjoy the classic rotisserie chicken sandwich, as well as the gourmet cheese and the salad sandwich. My other favourite is the crispy chicken burger. These meals are always fresh and delicious. This particular branch can have very slow service but the food definitely makes up for it.

I also enjoy the honey nut latte and the hot chocolate. Both always so tasty. Yes drinks can be tasty😛 Woolies is always a good choice.
JotterJo
Woolies cafe offers a great variety of all-day breakfasts. Delicious cheese & corn waffle option as apposed to just toast. Portions are generous although service is slow & meals tend to come to the table a little on the cold side.
No snapscan or zapper.
Restaurant is clean and ambience is great.
Will back for the Autum Table which we've had before and thoroughly enjoy.
Mpilonhle KaMandlenkosi Vilakazi
Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! My bae had a Salad sandwich and I had a chicken sandwich and it was divine!! Great service, Amazing food! We would definitely go back!!!!!
Waleed Taliep
Pretty average, breakfast not great - what you read on menu and what you get = 2 different things. Most of the menu was out of stock, so options limited. Will only come back if desperate.
Cleo
Woolies cafes are always winners and this one in upmarket Cavendish Mall is no exception. Every table occupied on a Saturday morning and people queuing at the takeaway coffee spot. Professional staff and great quality food.
Jessica Stromin
Delicious wholesome food and the best cappuccinos ever. I had the hollandaise poached egg pan - quite rich, but oh so yum - and the boyfriend had the corn waffles with delicious avo topping. I also had the frozen lemonade with cucumber and mint which is sweet and refreshing. Both of us were extremely satisfied and our waitress was lovely!
Jodi King
Ordered this frosted latte on my way to go study! Exactly what I needed! It was so tasty and refreshing! It wasn't too sweet, and not too icy either! The man who took my order was very sweet and I waited maybe 3 minutes for this to be made! Very happy customer!
Kirsty Donald
I always love going to a Woolies cafe because the food is so good and fresh. They have recently changed their menu and added some great items such as a pulled pork bum which I had for lunch. It was delicious but very rich. The siracha mayo is the winner on the plate though. There are quite a few other new items I can't wait to try out.
Zahra McQueen
Woolies really isn't what it used to be in terms of the quality of food they serve at the cafes... that and I also just waited an hour for a Turkish Plate. ONE hour.
Stephanie Venter
Had their harvest table / buffet lunch recently and it was every bit as good as I remember it to be. Food is great, but service could be a bit more attentive. They have a new system with medicine-like brown glass bottles for water and tiny glasses, which I think is meant to be quirky but seemed a bit weird. Delicious, tasty, well-flavoured food.
Chetna Black
Do not order the eggs benedict. Just had it and it was awful. Tastless, non cohesive dish. Im still here, ordering something else, so let's see how it goes. But do not have the benedict.
Mikaela
When in Cavendish, you can always count on Woolworths Cafe for a quick coffee or light breakfast. The wait staff are always friendly and attentive, however, make sure to ask for the bill in advance as it does take quite awhile to come. The food is well presented, but taste wise it is nothing to rave about. If you're in Cavendish and looking for a quick and convenient place to eat, Woolworths Cafe is perfect.
Hano Jordaan
Absolute chaos at peak time. Eggs overdone, potato cake not seasoned. This was unfortunately the worse breakfast I had in 5 years. The coffee was good and they have a grande option that was great to last the full breakfast.
Danica Astra Prout-Jones
I love Woolies. With all my heart I love their food, I love their innovative and brilliant food products, I love their deals, I love shopping there and I really do love eating there! Not all the Woolworths Cafés are up to the same standard, which I think is a pity, but the Claremont branch is definitely getting it right.

We've been to this Woolies Café a number of times, mainly during peak hours like Saturday lunch time! While the food has always been fabulous, the service did tend to be lacking and we have waited a long time for our order!

We were lucky enough to actually grab ourselves a table and we had a lovely waitress who was quick, efficient and super friendly. I had the Chai Latté which is a Woolies favourite of mine. A little too sweet but still yummy! For lunch, I opted for another one of my favourites, the salad wrap with avo, toasted onion, hummus, shredded carrot and sprouts. It was fresh and crunchy and the perfect light lunch but I do think it does better as an open sandwich on toasted seed bread! My sister and mum both had the Turkish Flat Bread which looked amazing and they really enjoyed it!

Our boards were all cleared away empty. You can't go wrong with Woolies- the ingredients are always fresh and every meal I've ordered here has always been super tasty and fresh. The atmosphere is relaxing, the staff are professional and after enjoying a delicious meal you can literally get up and walk 20 meters to the food section, buy the ingredients and make it yourself! What a win!
Bryan Vally
Great coffee, good food at relatively reasonable prices. As good as it gets for a mall coffee shop. Their consistency is commendable, although their service is s little slow at peak times.
Tiyaarah Cloete
I love a good Woolworths breakfast, they're affordable (by comparison to other brunch/lunch spots). I had their chicken burger with fries and garlic aoli and its so good, their chai lattes are great too. Woolworths cafe is a must

Okay I've returned to woolies, the prices have gone up exponentially- the burger with chips which was R75 is now R103 and it costs 60 bucks to add salmon. Their portions are tiny now and my waiter had such an attitude- he served people who came after us first and was very attentive to other tables but not ours - probably bc we look young. Anyway, i won't be returning to this one, however the waterfront branch is faaaaaar better
Ilhaam
I really want to love Woolies Cafe. I have been there numerous times. Every experience was different - as in good and bad. Highs - the food is delicious. Basics done well. The harvest table is lovely if you want to have a bit of everything. There is something for everyone on the menu and breakfast is served all day. Lows - service can be slow. I've waited an hour for eggs/ mushrooms on toast on a Saturday morning. The manager did come around to apologize so I have to mention that. Also been there when it's dead quiet and waited 30 mins for coffee, 20 mins just to get the bill. Got food poising the last time I went there, so haven't been back again. Sad, as it was my favorite spot for breakfast. Great for a snack if you want a break from all the shopping. The scones are my favourite, and sweet corn fritters without the bacon (can't eat it). Chai steamer/latte is also yummy.
Lee Lebotsa
Guys two words : Lunch Buffet. That's it - I'm done!

Well apart from that there is a really cool vibe there.

It's everything I love about a cafe : warm ambience, a full house during lunch time, and yummy eats. They make the best green juice which is made right in front of your eyes and amazing coffee to go with any meal of your choosing!
Dayi
I rushed out of the house at 9am to catch a 2.5 hour movie. After that marathon my body was screaming for breakfast and Woolies Cafe came to mind. Very convenient spot so popular with the shoppers. Had to wait to get seated but that didn't take long at all. How they won me over:
All day breakfast,
Honeyglazed bacon,
Poached eggs,
Mushrooms,
Crispy potato cake,
Breakfast lover satisfied.
Tanya Venter
Who knew that the restaurant good old Woolies started would actually turnout to be fabulous! I recommend any soup in winter, anything from the harvest table or the Spanish open sandwich!
Phillip Black
A great spot with great food. Well presented, tasty and good service. Been here many times for the salad which you will see in my pictures below. I had the red cappuccino for a change, with honey obviously. I think I was all coffee'd out for the day, so it's a great "no caffeine" alternative. Some great healthy options, I had the red juice which consists of various vegetables and fruit. I liked it, you will too if you are a beetroot fan. I have also had the green juice before. The wraps and burgers look great too. You can swipe your MySchool there which means whatever charities you picked can benefit from you eating which I like the idea of. Woolies cafe is a great place to catch up with friends and share some scrumptious chow.
Charné
This is my mom's favorite place to come for scrambled eggs on toast. The buffet is also delicious. I had a chicken burger today which was pretty tasteless unfortunately, but I've enjoyed the other meals I've had here.
Overcomingmom
I often meet my sister in law here. We always land up chatting for hours. Taking in the buzz environment & enjoying woolies' delicious coffee. Cake. Cappucinos or yummy smoothies. My latest favorite craze is the Honey Nut Latte. Yummm
Tasneem Jakoet
Beat after an afternoon of shopping? No problem, Woolies has you covered! Sit down at their lovely cafe for a quick coffee or delicious meal.

The harvest table is heaven - a table decked with homestyle food. You can just fill your plate with whatever you desire and off you go. No waiting for you food. However if you do feel for something a little more specific then have a go at the menu. The pastas are absolutely lovely, the burgers are better! Great thing is that you have an array of breads to choose from, which works wonders for those with intolerances. They're also very accommodating when it comes to making certain dietary changes to your meals.

If you haven't yet been, go now - they've added new items to the menu!!! The open sandwiches are another favourite and let's also just have a moment for the freshly baked goods that stare at you whilst you're eating. The scones are a sure winner for afternoon tea and the caramel cheesecake is a must!

Also, I've recently fallen inlove with their mezze platter. Such great value for money and oh so delicious. It gets really full around lunchtime on any given day (the harvest table is to be blamed)...but the service is often swift with managers very present.

Do yourself a favour, stop by for a coffee and a good meal while you're at it!
Alice Scott
What an excellent experience! Service was friendly and fast and the food was brilliant. Would highly recommend the bacon, mushroom and potato cake with poached eggs as it is just divine!

Always a winner!
Life With Leigh CT
Had lunch with a friend here, opted for a roast beef sandwich, and the infamous hazelnut latte MUST TRY if you're visiting. service is prompt the waiter was efficient.
Debbie Coulson
I love all Woolies cafes... The Claremont one is busy but has good service - excellent, healthy food choices which are fresh and well presented- the organic coffee is just the best! Also freshly pressed juices which are great! Their muffins are delicious- moist and flavorful!
Alexandra Barry
Incredibly disappointing.
I am a great fan of the Woolies cafe and often visit the Johannesburg and Pretoria outlets for healthy, feel-good food.

My visit to this outlet however was quite the opposite.
I ordered the nachos- a standard favourite of mine. After EVENTUALLY arriving the meal was -with no exaggeration- a plate of nacho chips, a couple slices of avo, roughly (and by that I mean chunks) chopped onion and some sour cream and cheese.

The waiters were surly and unhelpful. We waited for ages just to be seated - it felt as though we were a nuisance to them! The service was painfully slow.

I certainly hope I caught them on a bad day.
Vuyo Renene
I usually have the pasta's at Woolies but to my surprise, I quite enjoyed this simple meal. I had the Rotisserie chicken on a fresh baguette (wasn't so fresh though). Add some black pepper and a bit of tabasco sauce and it becomes a great quick lunch time meal. To drink, I had a iced mocha which was delicious and much needed since I was heading to the library. The service was average but I wasn't too focused on it since I was in a rush.

I was forced by traffic in the direction of Cavendish Square one morning when I was on sick leave and had to pickup medicine from the chemist. I though why not pop in get meds and have a brekkie quickly .
My 1st choice - JB Rivers - has closed down - and I went searching for another option in Cavendish to have a quick brekkie at. Remembering the Woolworths has a cafe on the basement floor, I set off towards it. This is early and the the cafe is not full yet.
I don't get greeted, I don't get seated, I don't get offered a menu - have to help myself to all of the above.
I waited 5 to 7 minutes for a waiter to ask my order after I fetched my own menu and tried to get the attention of several waiters. It's not like you can miss me - I was sitting right in front of the counter and kinda put my hand up on a regular basis to be able to place my order. I did over hear waiters arguing whether they will server my table or not - how awesome...
The young man that assisted me was very helpful and also appologised for the delay. He took my coffee and food order and offered to bring coffee immediately - which he then did.

The food was over cooked even after I specifically ordered my poached eggs medium (runny yellow). The plate was so hot that I could not touch it which meant that the food continued to cook on it.

I will give this cafe one more try - but in my opinion - they need to do the following to make this work - and this is just from my observation of yesterday morning:
1. Get a manager that cares about food, people and work.
2. Thin out the waiter staff - they have about 10 - and only need 5 committed, hardworking, caring waitering staff to make this work.
3. Check the kitchen staff - they think cooking for patrons paying is a joke - there is a time and a place for jokes - if your silliness causes delays for the food coming out of the kitchen - then I wonder if Woolworths have the right staff working there?
4. Streamline the way they work with proper method and procedure in place.
5. Ensure that all prep work is done before they open their doors.

I hope that this falls on the ears of the powers that be at Woolworths.

Always busy - especially on the weekend, if you want to go here for breakfast get here early! Food is delicious - the mushrooms on toast for brekkie is just so good. Their iced coffee isn't that great though - don't order it if you're looking for a good one (like one from vida)

The food is absolutely delicious, but always a bit of a waiting time for it to arrive at the table. Go here if you have an hour to get some lunch or breakfast, not if you're in a hurry.
Woolworths cafe in Claremont is small great for a quick rush lunch or breakfast. Positive: Food is great! A must try is the chicken schnitzel open sandwich. It is simply amazing..Negative: service sucks the waiter paid no attention to her tableq getting our orders wrong and then forgetting half the things I ordered because she didn't write it down. I felt ashamed for her part when the hostess had to correct her the 3rd time.

I love popping in to woolies cafe after shopping up a storm. My favourite are their scones, which are always a big hit. Their muffins and sandwiches are also well worth a try. If you feel like a nice treat, the carrot cake is to die for!

Everything is always very fresh and service is great!

After shopping around Cavendish the whole morning, my stomach was in need of some food. What better place to eat at then Woolies CafÚ.
As a lover of food and an instagramer, I am an avid food photographer. So upon the arrival of the food, I whipped my phone out and started snapping away. Then comes the manager, looking rather stern and tells me that I am not allowed to photograph the food, as Woolworths food is copyrighted. So I laugh and carry on with the photography. The manager then says he's not joking and that I must delete the photo or he is going to have to take my phone away. I looked at my friend to ask if he was being serious and he said yes. Me being slightly gullible, started to believe this story until the manager laughed and I called his bluff. The manager then complimented my photography and I promised to hashtag Woolworths with my photo. So #woolworths haha.
Service was good and staff were friendly. My friend and I both had the chicken snitchzel, paprika mayo, smokey tomato and mozzarella toasted sandwich with an iced spiced chai for me and iced coffee for him. It was so so good and very filling! Woolworths Café never fails to satisfy me. You can never go wrong here!
