Review The Village Bicycle - Claremont

From the moment I walked in, greeted by their huge wood fueled pizza oven, I knew I was going to be treated to an amazing pizza experience. All the food seemed to be had crafted which is the main reason why we dine out. We started with some starters, the garlic bread was a pizza base and it was absolutely amazing. Light, crispy and loaded with garlic. Complementing the garlic bread with chili oil was absolutely lovely. For mains most of us ordered pizza and I have to say it was one of the most amazing pizzas I've eaten in a very long time. Just like the garlic bread it was light, crispy but with the perfect balance of toppings. I easily ate the entire pizza and felt perfectly satiated. The cheese that they use is extremely creamy and stringy. A cheese that I'm yet to find in any local grocery store. Finally it was time for dessert and the chocolate brownie and ice cream caught my eye. Unfortunately load shedding just hit, but we convinced them to cook the dessert in the pizza oven. All I can say is thank you for doing that because what I received was an absolutely blissful experience. When the cold ice cream softened over the warm, moist and chocolatey brownie I got a contrast that descended from heaven. A contrast that will trigger your reward system and fill your brain with dopamine. Thank you for the amazing experience, nowadays I very seldomly eat out and I'm so grateful that I left with such a big smile on my face. I'll definitely recommend this place to everybody that I speak to. Keep up the good food and service.

Organised my daughter's 21st birthday party here. We had exclusive use of the back section leading out to the tented section with heaters. The staff were super accommodating and attentive. Lovely platters to start and the pizza and burgers were great. I had the burger in a bowl which was amazing!! They organised vegan cheese especially for one guest's pizza - which she said was delicious. Took my own birthday cake in at no extra charge. My daughter had a lovely birthday. Thank you to all who made the evening a success.

The food was sooo good, prepared in no time, hearty portions and served with a smile. I'd go back in a heartbeat!

This place used to be known as Da Vincis and we have always enjoyed their food. We sat down for the Saturday lunch special and it's really worth it - R69 on selected menu items. We had a variety of dishes and we were not dissapointed. Soft pork ribs for only R69! Can you say "HELL YESSSS" I will most definitely be back! Service was very slow and we waited quite a while for our food, even though the place was practically empty, but I assume they had quite a few phone orders .So we waited and waited but in the end it was worth it,

Very cozy and staff are welcoming and friendly, a hidden gem if you ask me! Great variety to choose from on the menu and at decent prices. My macaroni arrived fresh and straight out the over and We also received a pizza on the house 🍕

The Village Bicycle has it's name on the right mark. This bicycle has traveled to many villages and found out exciting, fresh, new, delicious food ideas and now have their menu layed out with all the most favourite items that everyone prefers. First of its kind is the unique idea of a burger in a bowl. Try it you won't be dissapointed. They range from burgers, pizza, pastas, chicken wings, schnitzel, ribs, salads, desserts to die for and not to mention the drinks. Kids are welcome. Here they can draw on the table with crayons and be creative while the adults have a drink with a great meal. Thanks for the experience.

Ordered via Uber eats, really impressed that with the bunless burger you get a really good and decent salad. Plus the seed toppings are delicious. Most places when ordering bunless, you get a measly amount of soggy lettuce and slice of tomato. So happy with my order! 5 Star!

The best pizza I've ever had! They have a wide variety of food and their pizza is my favourite one. It's really large and thin based with a lot of toppings and reasonable prices. Very friendly and a lovely atmosphere. I just wished the music could be atmospheric as well, like soft piano or even classical music.

Overall it's good, just wish they didn't have pre-made pizza bases. Some fresh, made to order, bases would take this place to the top.

Primarily a pizza place, I had a really good burger (without bun) while my companion had an excellent pizza. Both were very good. Recommended.

We ordered their rib and also a pizza take-away and it was so good we wanted check out the place. The food is still good but I did not like the fact that we were 3 adults and our food came out at different times. First the pizza came, so we shared that, then my wings came so I shared that with the peeps at the table and then my friends ribs and wings came. This place probably have the best pizza's and ribs but I think I will stick to ordering take-aways because there is more focus on that. Throughout our time sitting there, more take-aways came out than anything so I think if I want the best pizza or ribs I will rather order it as take- aways then I know our food will arrive at the same time!

Went with a group of friends to this establishment. The staff was professional and we were organised quickly. The pizza at DV is world class. Fresh ingredients in the correct proportions resulted in a world class memorable pizza and the base was exactly as I requested. We all passed a spectacular evening and I would recommend this establishment to everyone.

I love Da Vinci's on 2nd! Super vibey restaurant with awesome staff. They serve the best thin-based pizzas with fresh ingredients that just melts in your mouth.The Dali (ham and mushroom) pizza is yummy!! The atmosphere is SO chilled & I like that it is great for the whole family to enjoy a night out. So cool that you can draw on the sheets placed on the table! Will definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone who loves good, tasty food or just to pop in for some cocktails. Absolutely making it my go-to place :)

I hosted our volunteer bonding dinner for Little Moon, our SHAWCO project, at Da Vincis, last Wednesday. I couldn't have chosen a better place! The vibe was warm and lovely. Dwayne was incredible, accommodating, and supportive of our cause (throwing in free pizza for good measure). The pizza was top-notch, and we were super grateful for you guys accommodating us in terms of a vegan pizza, etc. We'll definitely be back soon!

We had an amazing evening at DaVincis. Duane and his staff were on top form, cold beers flowed, cocktails so good and the food was incredible. We tried all the recommended dishes and Damn delish.

What an awful experience! Loud unprofessional staff that have no courtesy for their patrons. It felt like we were sitting in a rowdy bar. To top it off I ordered a Thai Chicken Lasagne that tasted extremely sour, to only be told by staff that it was actually off. Honestly, I will never be visiting this establishment ever again.

Da Vinci’s is one of my favourite neighbourhood restaurants and we have been going there for years as we love it. Unfortunately tonight was the exception. We ordered two pizzas and a teriyaki beef salad for take away. The meals were paid for and the pizzas were ready, however only after asking when the salad would be ready the waiter then said they had run out of beef. Why was this not mentioned when the salad was ordered? Two cold pizzas later and no first choice salad after waiting for almost an hour has left me really disappointed �

What a terrible experience. I generally go to Da Vincis on Kloof and have a great experience. At this on, it took them 30 minutes to get my pizza in the oven after being told three times it will take 5 minutes. Then the pizza didn't have mushrooms on but it had already been cut. I watch them put the mushrooms on after the pizza had been taken out of the oven and tried to put back. The result is a pizza that is overcooked and then they tried to get all the pieces into the box, while I'm watching the fiasco! Won't come back here again. Bardellis is a hundred times better in service and quality!

It was our first time here. It was great. Lasagne was delicious. Meat balls out of this world. Macaroni cheese and chorizo balls were tasteless. They were new to the menu. Perhaps rethink them�

Yummy place to go with humming energy and good variety of pizza's. Enjoy the thin pizza bases, with great options for vegans. They are so popular, that there could be a queue over the week-end...bring some patience along. This is our mostly visited eat-out and sure worth it!

We've just LOVED coming to this place for pizza! We only visited because it was on our Entertainer App and we're so glad we did. It's our favourite place for pizza! The wrong starter was delivered, but was whisked away and replaced in a jiffy. Nice Staff, Super Pizza.

Terrible! All the food was cold, undercooked and we received one type of sauce with all our food, even though we ordered different sauces. As well, underneath all our chicken strips, there was an old chicken bone, DISGUSTING! It was a big order and I am bitterly disappointed! I will NEVER EVER order food from Da Vinci's on 2nd again! What a waste of time and money!!!!

Best thin crust pizza by far! Great variety of pizza's - they taste amazing! Can highly recommended Da Vincis on 2nd as a pizza restaurant.

Wow! What an awsome restaurant experience I had tonight. The pizza we ordered is called The Bosch. It's peppadews and marinated beefstrip yumminess deluxe! The waiters, Jamie and Adam were awesome well -mannered staff, polite and really on the ball all night. Thanks guys!!! We have just discovered our favourite spot. See you every week from now on! Myself and a friend are real regulars.. but for some reason last night we ordered a pizza.. the base was unusually thin and only a few rib pieces. We actually ended up ordering a starter after the pizza as we both were hungry still.
