Review Morituri Pizzeria & Ristorante - Claremont

This is my first time visiting Toscana. I came here with my wife and a friend. We ordered two pizzas and one pasta (can't remember the names of the dishes). The pasta was amazing , very flavourful and fresh, but just a bit underseasoned and a bit too much sauce. The pizza base are very good, nice crunch exterior and soft chewing interior. However, some of the combination of toppings are a bit out of the ordinary. For example: smoked chicken and jam, and then salami oil and drizzle of honey. Personally I don't really like my pizza with so much sweetness. We went there on a Wednesday and it was quite empty but our waiter was very slow to take our orders and give us the bill. Overall great experience, I will come back to try other pastas and will order pizzas that are more ordinary.

One of the best pizza places in Cape Town. Don't know what you want? Try one of their pizza quarters - 4 types of pizza on one plate. Friendly service all round, and they also have a delicious chocolate fondant.

Some would say a good pizza is smothered in cheese and extra greasy. But I’d say it’s when the balance is just right with base, cheese and the toppings. They have the best pizza I’ve ever had. Get the quarter pizzas as you get to try 4 combinations in one. Perfect option for first timers. Quality 👌🏻

Best Service, great vegan options and really nice atmosphere.

Oh, this was something else! We went back for a second time in one week. The flavour combinations on the pizzas are amazing with combinations of up to four pizzas on one plate available.

Wonderful pizza. Watched one of the top gourmet suppliers deliver in the best possible ingredients. Thin base and incredibly generous toppings. Normally you have to hunt for the anchovies and capers, not here, they abound. My friend had a gluten free pizza and declared it the best she had ever had.

I was so excited to see that they had a full vegan menu, and I wasn't disappointed. A warm welcome, excellent service, full-of-flavour food, and nice ambience - what a treat.

I like pizza here, it's properly baked in a wood fired oven and the toppings are good. I also had a soup and a steak in other occasions and I wasn't disappointed. The owner isn't Italian but he's got a good grasp of how a pizza should be! 🙂

Great pizza and setting! I was conflicted about giving a 5 star rating as the service was poor. Could have just been the day but the wait staff weren't very friendly or inviting. Regardless, I would still revisit for the delicious pizza.

As soon as you step into this restaurant you feel welcomed and warm. From the decor to the staff - everything is pleasant and comfortable. The authentic Italian food served here is spectacular (thin base pizzas are a must).

Great pizza place that has many vegan options as well. The service is great and the meals are delicious. They also serve pasta dishes. The alcohol range is very good. They have great specials and you can see those specials on their Instagram page. The lights are gloomy and not excessively bright. The dessert range is good. My favourite dessert is the Toscana Milshake, it is phenomenal. Highly recommended!

The wait was a little long but the manager apologised. I decided to try something different and have a steak. I was pleasantly surprised. Better than the steak I have had at many a steak house. Other members of our table loved their food as well. Well done ! :)

Nice casual pizzeria ambience. Good variety of topping options, but some canned toppings like asparagus would be better to pass on. Can do gluten free crust for an extra 20 rand.

As usual, the pizzas were hot, tasty and pretty damn good. The best in town in our opinion. Smashing and well worth a visit or takeaway. Keep it up

Great pizza selection on thin base. Good pasta and fair meat selections. The portions were sufficient and enjoyable. Quick service, but felt a bit rushed.
