I took my parents there last night and had the best experience every in the restaurant industry! There were a bit of a mess-up with our food, but they handled it great! They apologized well, def the best i have ever experienced! Thank you for great service! 10/10

We were greeted by a very friendly waitress and showed us to the table outside as it was full inside on Tuesday (yesterday). She promised to call us in as soon as there was a table available inside but as it was too busy, by the time she came back to take out order we had already moved to a table inside after a gentlemen who had overhead us talkibg to the waitress that we needed a table inside. He gave us his table as he was done dining and the service was supper, the waitresses were very cheerful and smilling and even explained the menu to us. The food was just great, fresh and well presented. We really had a great time, as always. My beer was supper cold...thanx you. Keep up the good work

The houdini and player hater vegan burgers are the best vegan burgers that we have ever tasted, ever! The dusted onion rings and nachos are great and the vegan oreo milkshake will blow your mind. We travel far for this gastronomical experience.

I had a burger called āThe Ranchā. The peri peri chicken had just the right about of heat. I often find in burgers that the heat either doesnāt come through or it doesnāt go with the rest of the ingredients. This was not the case with āThe Ranchā.
Albeit that it was a rainy day when we visited, the overall atmosphere was very warm and cosy. Tried the avo fries for the first time and for something one would think wouldn't work at all, they were absolutely delicious. The food was hearty and the service delightful.

We went for the Rugby game day special. Staff are amazing. Space is abit cramped. But other than that its good. Just not the location to watch a rugby match.
I love the waitresses here. They are genuine, they have great banter, and are overall just the most helpful souls around. The two really cool managers (Sean and Sphokazi) are like angels and you can really see the love they have for their team. Nothing better than great food, and seeing hugs and laughs to add to an already cool atmosphere. I do not think this gets said enough. It is really nice feeling like someone genuinely cares for your needs, and here, they really do.
Went there on Friday afternoon and had thee cutest little ray of sunshine for a waitress. I can't quite remember her name but she was tiny with brown hair and a massive bow on the top of her head. Also had thee most wonderful experience with the manageress (Siphokazi I think?). Our waitress told us she is as wonderful to them (staff) as she was to us as customers and that says a lot about leadership. Everything was good, the food was timeous, and we never felt like we were left unattended. A good job to the team (or as our little waitress called it: "her family"). A really beautiful thing to see and experience!
my favourite frozen margarita in the whole of Cape Town! Hudsonās happy hour is always a must. Calzociniās, Poppers our sliders are my go toās. Sometimes the cocktails taste watered down during happy hour but the manager was more than happy to send over a new better one.
Hudson's burgers are always good, and they have a huge variety. My personal favourite is "The Shroom" - their mushroom sauce is delicious! I also really like the fact that you have so many options within each burger, such as how you can choose your patty.Ā
This place can get rather loud in the evenings, so I would not recommend for having conversations.

On Tuesday 10 April 2018 we visited Hudsonās in Claremont. Friendly and warm welcome for 2 and 4 leggeds. Spacious, well lit, sheltered, outside area with heaters.
Delicious mixed pomegranate and lemom frozen margaritas. Good selection of burgers including Vegan/Vegetarian options. Yummy Nachos with chicken. Obscene popcorn milkshake for the extra hungry. Separate 250g beef burger for Raffa only R40! Gone in 4 gulps!
Great, friendly, efficient service, great drinks, yummy food, decent portions. Lively vibe and open till late so nice for night owls. Very dog friendly.

Ordered the Wiseguy burger. 250g beef patty topped with a tomato relish, fresh chilli, jalapeno and rocket.
Thoroughly enjoyed this burger. It would have been better if I added a slice of cheese. All the ingredients were fresh and complimented each other well. They burger itself was well seasoned and juicy. I had the skin on fries as a side.
The service was excellent!
The only complaint I have is that you have to order and pay for your side separately. Most places at least give you one side with your burger.
Loved the food, adored the waiter and the vibe was really great. Highly recommended. Especially the milkshakes and cocktails. The burgers were really delicious as well and the cheesy fries were to die for.
Setting: In the heart of Claremont, there isnāt exactly a great view or ocean breeze for the restaurant to make use of. However, they make up for it with outside seating and a large, attractive bar that somehow creates a cool vibe where they might have been none.
Service: Although Hudsons is usually synonymous with bad service, the experience we had was great. The waitress was attentive and prompt, and the friendly manageress also checked in on us once or twice.
Food: All four of us had the special burger, which was absolutely delicious. We were asked how we would like our patties done, and although all four of us wanted it cooked differently, we were all pleased with our meals. The sweet potato and disco fries are an absolute must. 4 out of 5!
Loved my visit! Tried the burger of the month as suggested by the waitress. I must say one of the tastiest burgers I've ever had- beef patty stuffed with bacon jam topped with avo, cheddar, feta and battered onion rings. Service was efficient with a really lovely waitress. Only negative was that the beer was not cold.

Super cool joint for lunch or supper. I really dig their burgers and appreciate the creativity that comes with it. They also have a cocktail hour from 16:30 - 18:30 everyday, where cocktails go for half price. I was really blown away by the size of the cocktails which definitely meets my happy hour needs. They also have a nice variety of items on their menu which includes burgers, pizza, sliders, salads and grills. We landed up ordering The Rockafella Burger @R78, The Player Burger @R95, a side of Loaded Fries @R45, a side of Sweet Potato Fries @R25. They also have 2 variations where you can order a 180 g pattie or 250 g pattie. The loaded fries sounds good but I personally wonāt order it again as itās not executed well. Other than that the food is delicious, the vibe is hip and young and the service is great.
The burgers are out of this work especially the jalapeƱo burger it's my favorite thing to eat ... The drinks during the happy hour are still to the same standard of normal hours unlike most restaurants.
I had the best food and milkshakes here - almost all Hudsons never disappoint! Had a great time because of the atmosphere and tasty treats! Definitely go for the Nutella Choc milkshake the size of a soup bowl!
Great spot to come to for happy hour...which at this place is 2 hours long. Wow!!! It's always buzzing during this time, a cool spot to bump into new friends that are all interested in the same thing which is good food, good company and of course good drinks.
First time at this restaurant and I had an awesome time!! Our meal came on time, even though we were warned it could be a little wait when it is busy. I had the sweet potato chips - they were delicious! I had no idea what was nice and our waitress was so friendly (Sara??) and SO helpful!! I got the Lah Di Dahh based on her recommendation (I wanted something INTERESTING you know??) and wasn't disappointed!

Popped into Hudsons Claremont for the first time in a long while this week and just wow! What ever has happened recently has made them up the game. Food was phenomenal, the shroom burger was ridiculous, waitress on point and Tendai (the GM I think) checking on our food and working the floor was something very rare to witness in Cape Town these days. Good on the team and management! 5 Stars!

The place is also really great, having some of the tastiest burgers. It was not really busy when we got there so I liked the chilled environment.
The La Di Dah burger is one of it's kind. Never tasted anything like it before. Prepared with an ostrich meat patty and topped with German mustard and biltong shavings, it bursts once inside the mouth, adding just the right amount of Spice required to enjoy ostrich meat at it's quintessential form. A delicacy that is exclusive to the southern and south Eastern capes of South Africa.
Great burgers and vibe. Service can be a bit hit and miss but the the quality of food more than makes up for it. Truffle cheese fries were brilliant as were the Sliders.

Eaten here hundreds of times. It's the default go-to place for students. They're always busy at night around the weekends, so be sure to book.
Their 'instashakes' are huge and well worth the money if you like milkshakes. I find pizzas are thin on base, cheese, and tomato base and would avoid, especially if hungry. I really enjoy their lentil patty and the newer falafel patty. It's convenient now that you can order for delivery; but I haven't had the best experiences through delivery.
Sometimes the kitchen can be a bit lazy when they're busy and not prep / present properly (ex: not slicing jalapeƱos and spreading toppings).
Happy hour is a huge WIN even if only for the half-price chili poppers.

I enquired about a birthday sparkler and she let me know about the free birthday waffle which I ordered along with the lindt brownie milkshake for the birthday girl and both were absolutely to die for! Got there during happy hour with two of my good friends (around 6) and stepped into an already packed and vibey room. All starters and cocktails are half price during that time so we scored on food and drinks! Thoroughly enjoyed my grapefruit cocktail and my chicken and glazed onion calzones. We shared a bowl of Mac and cheese croquettes which was quite delicious too. A place I always come back to!
Hudson's is slightly on the pricier side but their drinks and food are worth it. Thankfully, half price on cocktails, beers on tap, and starters at Happy Hour every day from 4:30 pm till 6:30 pm lessens the burden on your wallet. The booths are large and roomy, very able to house large groups - which of course means that at Happy Hour, the restaurant can be a bit rowdy. Cocktails are generous in size and are quite potent - especially the margaritas. I would highly recommend the Truffle Cheese Fries, which will definitely leave you wanting more. Another item on the menu which deserves praise is "The One" burger which my partner adored for its sugar glazed bacon. Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for "The Stack" burger. The chickpea and lentil patty was too dry and lacked in flavour, it also happened to fall apart when I cut into the burger. I would also suggest it having more goat's cheese. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back soon for another happy hour.

This was literally a quick in and out pop up at Hudson's mid exam studying. The service was really efficient and the the slider burgers were tender and flavorsome as usual. My friend also enjoyed his mushroom burger, overall it was a satisfying experience.
I had the ranch burger today - my favourite. The waitress initially got out order wrong but the service is usually good here. The food is pretty much always up to standard. Don't come here in the evenings though if you want to be able to hear other people properly at the table!
Hudsons, My favorite Claremont lunch spot.Their menu has everything from burgers to pizza's to insanely over sized milkshakes, I ordered the East village selection which is 3 mini burgers which have different toppings which is great if you're indecisive like me. Sides are ordered separately though. I also had the Amarula milkshake which was amazing! I was a bit overwhelmed. Service is excellent, I'll always be back ā¤ļø
I came here with friends for lunch (burgers and milkshakes - which are huge by the way) on a busy Saturday. There are lots of tasty options to choose from as they cater for 'banting' or the undecided by way of sliders (3 small burgers). My favorite was the 'Shroom' burger with a divine creamy mushroom sauce. This place seems to be popular mostly among students but this could just be due to the location. The service, however, was ridiculously slow and our waitress forgot our order so had to check back with us - twice.

Noise noise noise. There was a real loud buzz on Friday night and the place stayed full. As one group left another arrived to fill the table. We booked and when we arrived the people at our table were paying their bill!! Must mean something about what people think? We waited about 10 minutes with our drinks at the bar and were then shown to our tables. We then waited quite a while for service and had to call someone as they passed to get some attention. The food came fairly promptly considering how busy they were. I had The Boss burger which was excellent. The meat was tender, juicy and tasty. The other 3 in our party all had the Health Nut Chicken! It seams they liked it with tender, juicy chicken apparently cooked to perfection and certainly not dry. I had the Greek Side salad and Michele had skinny fries (with skins on!) and both were good. Good craft beer and good Don Pedro. Great night out. Just had difficulty hearing ourselves talk over the noise.
The food was amazing and the service even better... I enjoyed it so much I decided to go back with friends and once again I was just as impressed and certainly even more excited about taking more friends

I am not a burger fan but really enjoyed the Hudson's chili burger . Nice and spicy. Burger to bun ratio was perfect with the sauce not smothering the party.
Hudsons is always a good idea for good burgers and good happy hour specials. Everything from their margarita's to their wine is worth it. Today we tried the mayo truffle fries and the chilli cheese fries; worth every penny especially topped up with their chilli sauce
I know that nobody goes to Hudson's for a cappuccino, but if you do find yourself ordering one, you won't be disappointed. The chicken strips appetizer is always a winner and the service is top class.

When it comes to happy hour half price cocktails this place is tough to beat. Having tried pretty much every single one on the menu, the Grapefruit Crush has to come in at number one for being so delicious and refreshing. Any competitors I should know about?
The only downside is that it can be so busy, so get there when the happy hour starts (4:30!)
The tribeca selection is my favourite! Their cocktails arent too shabby either and they have a good vibe! I am a smoker and I find their smoking section a bit too small which can be off putting if theres no room in the smoking section, but not the end of the world :)

Their burgers are tasty but doesn't fall into my top 10 burger joints in Cape Town. The other cocktails on the menu are mostly just ice ( we watched them make it already as you are able to sit at the bar Ā which is a little bit of a disappointment.

The drinks at Hudsons are a bit pricey but the milkshakes are creative and tasty, especially the oreo milkshake with bar one. The Pimms cup cocktail is a personal favourite as well. The food is flavourful but I have noticed an inconsistency in how they make the chips compared to the other Hudsons I've visited which was a let down. Your ideal meal at Hudsons is a cocktail and a juicy burger.

Last night i took wifey to Hudsons in Claremont. Wifey had the 3 sliders called the east village selection (one mushroom, cheese and the other called the wise guy) as well as the disco fries which is basically fries and a chilli sauce covered in real melted cheese and spring onion. (Dont be a hater she likes to eat lol ) I had the nachos and we shared the falafel soft tacos. It was actually surprisingly good for a student hang out - we really enjoyed it. I wish we could've had beef - but the meat isn't halal(why oh why) and I could taste it would've been really great had it been beef. Overall I'd rate them a 3.5 but their food was a 4 the ambiance itself just wasn't appealing to me personally.
Definitely the best Hudsons there is. The service is good. The cocktails are everything and the vibe of the whole place is great. It's a burger joint so you get there knowing what to expect, except I didn't expect to have the best burger I have ever had in my entire life!! Honestly. The food here is Great.

Hudsons in Claremont is a great place to meet friends for drinks or dinner. As their restaurant is much bigger than their branch in Kloof street, the waiting time for both food and drinks tends to be a little bit longer. However, both the food and cocktails are just as delicious as in other branches -always consistently good. With a pizza oven at this branch, there are some added menu items there. I have had the chicken calzoncini starter before which was good, and I have has a taste of a friend's 'The Blogger ' Pizza which was very good - nice thin crust!

Burger challenge #5. I had the meat packing sliders. Which by far the best sliders to order from Hudsons. All 3 were good. Only problem it is so noisy inside it's almost impossible to have a conversation with a large group.
Received excellent service from Sphokazi, the food was amazing. I had their Brat Burger special and it was the best I have ever had!! Great Experience, definitely come again! Visiting Cape Town from Johannesburg, I will definitely recommend Hudson as a place of good food to friends and family!

Despite Hudsons reputation as a burger joint, I find their burgers to be quite average. The pizza's on the other hand are delicious. Another thing I can't fault is Hudson's tapa menu. I've tried everything on there at least twice and have loved them every time. The crumbed chicken strips and the falafels are must try's!

Hudsons is famous for their great atmosphere, burgers and milkshakes. I've always enjoyed the food at Hudsons. My favourite item on the menu is the cab driver pizza. The pizza is crispy and topped with rocket, chicken strips and the cab driver sauce. I've also enjoyed their Oreo milkshake and the Oreo waffle with ice cream. It's great spot to visit for cocktails and drinks during happy hour. The service is usually good.

Hudsons is crazy busy in the evenings, especially between 5-6pm which is the last of happy hour. I arrived during this buzz and so the only available seat was at the bar which turned out to be a really enjoyable experience. The barmen are very friendly and attentive even though they're busy. I had a cappuccino and the shroom burger with chicken. It was nice but definitely not as amazing as the Vanilla Thunder! Why did they take that burger off the menu? It used to be my favourite and I haven't found a second best yet. All in all, always a good experience!
Working in the area, I occasionally come here for after work Happy Hour. Really lovely food (I had the guacamole, which was so fresh! And the chicken strips) and the vibe is good. I didnt give full 5 stars as the benches were uncomfortable (granted i have a big bum so benches are always uncomfortable for me).
I wanted to specifically mention what a great waitress we had - I feel I've gotten so complacent in general eating out regarding average service, so I just want to say thank you to Bianca who looked after us. Really lovely manner and on the ball, especially at the busy rush!
Went to Hudsons after ages this weekend. Sashen and I had our usual fav the ranch burger with sweet potato crisps and I tried something new, truffle mayo fries. I did find the truffle mayo fries to be a bit underwhelming, could hardly even taste the truffle. The burgers were great though, I could have had another one! We had a friendly waiter who was pretty efficient.
I've been to this branch on a number of occasions. Great service and the food is always so flavourful! On this occasion I tried a beef burger topped with bacon jam and cheese and a side of disco fries. It's clear why Hudsons can confidently display the title "burger joint" with their juicy patties, great toppings and all around unique burgers.
Went here for dinner with a bunch of friends before first semester started. Good vibes and great food - living up to the Hudsons reputation! Their happy hour is also worth mentioning because their cocktails are super fantastic.

Went to Hudson's this evening for dinner/drinks with some friends after Uni. I had the Highline Salad and it was really amazing. It's an Ostrich patty over blue cheese with cos lettuce, rocket, cucumber, avo, crispy bacon & a boiled egg. It does come with a vinaigrette dressing but I asked for mine without it and drizzled olive oil and balsamic over mine instead. The ostrich patty was very juicy and the salad had a good texture and flavour. It was the first time I have ever had one of the salads at Hudson's and I can honestly say I would definitely order it again.
As usual the place was buzzing and had a really good energy!
Myself and about 14 mates were here for my mate's birthday and it was chilled. The food was good, the vibe was cool and the service wasn't too sloppy considering how full the place was. I must say the pizzas weren't too impressive. Very tasty to say the least, but it's not exactly filling.
Their burgers are good however there are definitely better burger bars around Cape Town and those tend to include chips! Service is a bit slow but if you just want to grab a burger with friends the vibe is festive.
Im such a regular at Hudsons Claremont, it's always an obvious go-to option for a easy going lunches and dinners. I went to Hudsons on Woman's day for the 4:30 half price specials. I orderd my the Calzochinj with chicken. It's simply amazing!!!! There's some mouth watering saucy onions in it, with chicken and melted mozzarella. The food was exemplary, flawless to say the least. We ordered two starters, which was the Triple Cheese Chilli Poppers and the Free Range Crumbed Chicken Strips. I was particularly chuffed about the poppers because it wasn't too spicy but it satisfied the craving.
For mains we had The Ranch burgers which was immaculate. Chicken was tender and the sauce on the burger itself was unique. One of the best burgers I've ever tried (So good I had to devour it immediately and was not able to take a photo of it). The only downside was that we had to order sides because it did not come with any. We had to wait a while for our main meal, but I assumed that quality takes time and indeed I was not disappointed.
Overall, the ambience was great and the restaurant wasn't overcrowded, probably because it was a Tuesday evening. I am pretty sure that they are jammed on the weekend because their food is to-die-for.

The hudsons happy hour special in the week is an ultimate bargain! I love the calzoncini and the crumbed mushrooms. Their cocktails are super delicious and I'm convinced they make the best cosmopolitan in cape town. Their burgers are great too, the shroom being my favourite. This branch is really welcoming and always on point with timeous service and a warm atmosphere.
Well we all kind of know what Hudsons is like, right? All I have to offer is that I ordered a blogger pizza (go figure) without goats cheese and asked for avo instead and they forgot my specifications and brought me the normal blogger pizza. I explained I hate goats cheese, sorry and they made the pizza I was after in like 5 mins and gave it to me for free. So #winning! Lol

I was still keen to try the Hudsons' burgers despite my negative experience at the Parkhurst branch in Joburg. So on a trip to Cape Town I found myself near the Claremont branch and thought I'd pop in. The service was friendly and quick to my relief. I had the meat packing slider combo which was delicious. One of the burgers had a lamb patty topped with battered pickles. Damn it was good! If you are going to park in the parking lot in front of the restaurant be sure to bring cash as they don't have credit card facilities and the closest ATM is in Cavendish shopping centre.
This is one of my favorite hudsons. Be it happy hour or any normal time, the service is amazing and the food is always of quality regardless of the crowd.

A great standard place for students. Hudsons has an excellent happy hour with very good specials. It's quite pricey when there aren't specials for what it is. The food is delicious, the cocktails are wonderful and the milkshakes are excellent.
I waited over 40 minutes for my meal but we did have a very friendly waitress. I had the bacon burger and my sister had sliders. The sliders were very dry but my burger was excellent and the drinks were very nice although we do wish we could have had them with our meal.

The first impression of Hudsons is that it's Hudsons. It's a crowd favorite, pretty much. I've been a few times but my only full-on meal there was tonight. We sat outside, which was really nice. The vibe is super chilled, especially on this particular Sunday.
The service can be slowish during their busy times which is so very understandable like almost not worth mentioning (they get VERY busy during and after rugby games.) The food was really good, as always. We all had burgers except for one who had the falafel tacos which were apparently amazing. I personally chose to try the sliders because I suck at making decisions. Everyone was really very happy with their food. The milkshakes also went down a treat- especially the brownie and the fudge ones which came with a clump of each respectively. The highlight for those who had them were the deep fried Oreos! I've tried the poppers and the macaroni croquettes before and they're both delicious starters that will keep me coming back, especially for their happy hour half price
Their drinks menu is relatively extensive and the wine is normal-priced but some of the craft beers are a little expensive for my taste.

Nothing better on a Friday after work than to have drinks and snacks at Hudsons. We love the relaxed style dining at long tables and having the late afternoon sun warm or backs through the high windows looking up at the Newlands mountain.
Being crazy about chilli poppers, I had their bacon wrapped version with crumbed chicken strips. Hubby had tribeca sliders: the pkayer, the shroom abd the boom boom. Cheesy, chilli gooeyness at its best.
Lots of beers and craft beers to choose from we had Peroni & Jack Black.

Possibly one of the best burgers I had in my entire life! We ordered it with a side of disco fries ( it takes a while to get used to the texture and taste) and deep fried oreos for dessert(yummy!). The waitresses are really friendly and full of energy - but they did bring the wrong drink...
Popped in after the Stormers game at Newlands. Despite it being full service was good and waitress friendly. Drinks and food were really good. Loved the battered onion rings. Burgers are well priced and even though you pay separately for sides if you add them it's still practically the same price as a spur burger meal and much better quality. Will definitely return.
I usually don't eat burgers, but when I do it's only at Hudson's for their Sliders.
I ordered the Tribecca sliders. Everything was absolutely delicious, and the right proportions made my mini burgers easy to eat, instead of it being sloppy. The only issue I had was with my skinny fries - because they just weren't skinny. They were normal fries served to us, and when we asked why, the waiter replied that they don't know why the fries aren't being cut into the shape of skinny fries. It's a bit of a let down, because Hudsons skinny fries are usually so tasty - but today it just had no taste at all.
I ordered the passion fruit for the first time there, and it's definitely my new favorite drink here! You can actually taste just how fresh the ingredients are and it comes through in the taste.

Strawberry daquiris and chilli poppers are a firm favourite of mine at Hudson's. Make sure to hit up happy hour on weekdays for extra value for money! The pizzas are pretty average but the burgers are obviously what you come here for. The Shroom and the Cheese are my personal choices, paired with the sweet potato fries for a delicious meal š

I love Hudsons as a franchise! I often find myself at the Stellenbosch branch but last night I ventured out to the Claremont Hudsons. I must say it was just lovely. I ate myself silly. Went with a friend and we had their side table guacamole and bacon wrapped poppers for starters which were the ultimate. We arrived at Hudsons just before half past 6 making the special which included half priced starters, cocktails and beers on tap which really knocked quite a bit off our bill! I had the burger of the month Guido style and she had the boss. Both on point in terms of presentation and taste. I like the new menu, it offers a wide range of options but not too many which could cause one to be overwhelmed which I appreciate. I had the banting cauliflower as a side and it proved to be rather tastey. The atmosphere was lovely, the staff (waitresses, managers as well as the runner) were friendly and attentive and the vibe was great. Even though it was pretty much a full house we didn't have to wait for our drinks or food for long. Good service, good outing, excellent food!
I really love Hudsons! It's always got such a buzzing vibe to it all times of the day. Their happy hour specials are really awesome offering a bunch of cocktails that come in massive glasses! Dinner time there is also just as good, and you HAVE to go there to have their burgers. My favourite are the sliders since I always struggle in deciding on only one burger.
The dessert though...wow...deep fried Oreos?? Since when! They were delicious and indulgent (unfortunately no pic because we gobbled them up so quick).
I'm also quite happy to see that the service is much more friendly than they used to be, yay!

Vibey, good service and delicious food. I love all the Hudsons' , but the Claremont branch is my favourite by far. I always go for happy hour (16.30-18.30) and get my favourite, 'porky poppers' - massive jalapeƱos stuffed with cheese, deep fried in a thick batter, wrapped with crispy bacon and served with a mild blue cheese dipping sauce. To die for. Their cocktails and beers are half-price too!! Only complaint is the music - rock & roll during the crazy busy happy hour makes it difficult to talk.

I've been to this hudsons branch most often compared to any other. Love the atmosphere and seating. As a vegetarian, the veg patty is great and my only qualm is that they don't serve a side with their burger as you've got to order you side.
On my most recent visit we went for their happy hour specials which is quite a steal. We had the chilli poppers, calzone and tacos. The first two were great but my friends were disappointed with the tacos. They were also really busy and our drinks took about 20 minutes to arrive.
Overall, it's a great spot with friendly staff, a vibing atmosphere and good burgers.

I went there yesterday with some friends and it was a good time. Be warned: the tacos are no good but the calzocinis are amazing.
I haven't been to Hudsons in about a year and I have to say that I like the changes I see! We had a girls night and it was so much fun! The place was vibey and perfect for the occasion. I like the fact that you can now choose between chicken, beef and ostrich burger patties (I don't think it was like that last time I went.)
The food arrived promptly even though the rest of the service wasn't particularly speedy. All in all a good night out though.

Ever been to Hooters in the US? Cos this place felt like a classier version of Hooters, don't stare now. Really large selection of great brea.. burgers (burgers are their thing), beers and spirits. Service is exclusively female and large bre... prompt and friendly. Becomes ridiculously packed with trendy young people from the Southern burbs on Friday and Saturday evenings, you have been warned.
Our family of 4 wanted a quality burger experience and that's we got at Hudson's (Kloof Street).
The service was friendly and fast, the vibe and music good and the burgers were flavourful. The variety of burgers leaves you wanting to visit over and over again.
Drinks were cool; craft beer and a great alcoholic ginger beer.
Great food, very lively, the service on point and a very welcoming atmosphere. Would definitely recommend for a Friday night out!

If you love burgers it's definitely a must. But on the same note if you want a delicious cocktail with your meal it's a complete match maker. They have this really delicious lemon maragne cocktail it is so yummy feels like you eating a piece of cake. But it's a cocktail.

Hudson's is always a good spot to satisfy a burger craving. This particularly branch has slightly slowere service than the Kloof and Greenpoint branches. For lunch today both my fiancƩ and I had the sirburger (in support of November) which is a bacon wrapped patty with a sweet potato hashbrown. It was a great burger, the only downside being that the bacon on the outside could've been a bit crispier. The nutella milkshake is also a winner

Hudsons Claremont consistently delivers delicious dishes time after time. Pretty much any dish on the menu lives up to its description and bursts with flavor and is cooked correctly. Exciting new cocktails such as the ginger mule (in mega sized glasses) are definitely a reason to keep coming back. A personal favorite is the chili poppers - large and bursting with a mixture of cheeses and served with a tomato salsa. The only downfall is that the batter can sometimes be a bit too soft and lacks that extra crunch one desires in a popper. Sometimes service can be slow due to the restaurant being super busy and the music is pumped too loud on top of a full room of patrons competing to be heard. However, one will always come back for the amazing food and drinks.
I really enjoy the uniqueness of their menu. Such delicious, flavorful food and good value for money. Very friendly staff and very accommodating with menu changes. We're vegetarian and they make any burger on their menu vegetarian if you request it. We had the 3 mini burger option which are set options but they allowed me to switch one of them to something else. It's usually busy so you need to book and accept that service will be a bit slower if they're busy. But we were very happy with our service and the manager, waitresses and cleaning staff were all friendly.

Loved the fact that outside was warm and sunny to chill with a virgin granadilla mojito, some beer and great burgers . The original royalle was tasty and when the forgot the avo, they gave me double - yum!! I prefer the hudsons in green point to the one here but nonetheless, their cocktails never disappoint. Tried the pimms cup and its oh so yummy !!! And the fresh fruit is plentiful so be careful if you want to go big foodwise, it might be a bit too much. The rockstar pizza is really delicious and although we went half half it was still very filling (unless that is because of the cocktail!). Service isnt too great though. Waiters take AGES. I

I visit Hudsons quite a lot as you can never go wrong with any of their burgers!! I love the idea that you can order a "slider" which is basically 3 smaller burgers. I love being able to chose more than one thing- so being Abe to chose 3 different burgers is always a win for me!

I always love Hudson's for great burgers that might not be "gourmet" per se, but have lots of combos and choice. I've had the veg options (lentil version, and chickpea burger, both of which have been great).
Service in Claremont was slow and nonchalant, and even if this is the "vibe", it's not amazing. It could also just have been a busy day, but is that ever an excuse for apathy?
I'd still come back again and again for great fare.

I love Hudson's. All of the branches are decent but this is my favourite, perhaps because I go there so often. The service isn't great (a bit slow) but the food definitely makes up for it. Our favourite is to go for their half price cocktail and starter special (before 6) and we always get the calzoncini (peri per chicken, obvs), porky poppers (like normal chilli poppers but wrapped in BACON) and the salmon crostini. Yum, and cheap!
Hudsons has become the new institution of burgers on South Africa. The standard that this franchise achieves is quite impressive although I prefer Cape Town over Johannesburg.
I had the feta, avo, and bacon burger was was once again awestruck by the amount of flavour that was packed in. My friend had the pizza and was also suitably impressed. This really is a great restaurant. The service was great with our waitress really looking after us despite the late hour. She was full of smiles and we appreciated it! The decor is relatively modern and consistent with other Hudsons so no surprise.
I genuinely can't wait to come back here hey. If not to Claremont then to the other outlets of this great franchise.
Definitely my favourite burger joint in Cape Town. Their chilli poppers are mind blowing and the burgers simply delicious. Do yourself a favour and get the disco fries as a side. You will not regret it. The only thing keeping it from getting a 5 rating is the service which ranges from average to poor. It's not a fine dining establishment so it's more of an irritation than a serious detracting from the whole experience.

I opted for the bacon wrapped chilli poppers. My mind was blown. Absolutely delicious, best chilli poppers in the world. Battered with a light beer batter, stuffed with cream cheese and mozzarella and wrapped in bacon...what is there not to like!
I couldn't make up my mind which burger to try, there are loads of options, so I did some sliders. All 3 were yummy! Hard to pick a favourite, but for me, The Shroom stood out the most.
The variety is amazing, there is a burger style to suit everyone, even vegetarian options, and I am not talking about just another salad bun.
My suggestion...go there when you are really hungry. Burgers are huge!

Really looooove the wings and this wasn't my first time here, I usually don't enjoy the chips but today they were REALLY good. The service was amazing, our waitress Siphokazi (she should get a raise) was extremely attentive and friendly, we left her with a pretty good tip because she deserved it. You have to visit Hudson's Claremont just to try their burgers and milkshakes as they are the best - and not bad value for money either! However your experience is normally only as good as your waiters and this can be hit and miss, especially at busy times but if your happy to *possibly* not have the best service and want good food, round up some friends and be sure to try their amazing menu!!

Best burgers ever - I suggest you order a slider so that you can fully take in the awesomeness that Hudsons has to offer. It gets a little bit busy and loud - quite a young crowd. They have great craft beers on offer and a lovely selection of cocktails. The waiters are friendly and quick.
Ok, I'll admit. Anything involving cheese, bacon, alcohol and the words "half-price" will win my heart. Hudson's does it all, and more. Although technically a burger joint, I find the burgers overpriced (especially because you have to pay extra for chips). However, their happy hour is amazing. The half price beers (think R9), cocktails (R20) and starters (R25) make for an awesome evening out. Order the Porky poppers and a Moscow mule and you will be a changed person.

Some of the waitresses are sooo sweet and some don't care much. I always try sit in the nice girls sections. They make incredibly good chilli poppers. Went here today. Had the Hudson's pale ale and the player burger. The service was a bit slow but overall the burger was excellent. Very well priced to. The fries where the worst I have ever had simply because they where to oily. Other than that the beer and burger where tops. Good vibes and great music playing inside. Will be back for sure.
Chilled vibe, fun burger selections and friendly waitresses. I would recommend "The Player" burger, because who doesn't love bacon, feta and avo? Or ordering the sliders (which are 3 mini versions) is also a nice way to try more than one.
Burgers were fantastic (what else), juicy, meaty, smokey. The fries were very nice on their own as well, not just a regular side dish. Liked the home made lemonade a lot. My personal surprise: how much I genuinely loved the awesome strawberry milkshake. I usually hate strawberry milkshakes.
Staff was friendly and had a playful team spirit amongst each other.
A great place for burgers in a laid back and upbeat vibe. I would not recommend the pizza ever but the burgers, wings and ribs are all winners. Beware of the cocktails, they are massive and pack a punch! I really enjoy the fact that you can order your burgers "guido style" wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun.
Really nice vibe.. Obviously a burger is a must, but otherwise if you don't order a milkshake you're a fool... The milkshakes are to DIE for!!! Bar one is definitely the best. And believe me, I've tasted all of them.
We go here often and to the Claremont one the most. Great burgers, pizza and such a vibe. A little secret is the amazingly tasty ribs. Too good! I always have the Hudson's pale ale or the beer of the month. See my attached pic to see exactly what I had this month. Had the peanut butter milkshake for dessert. OMG! Great place, great food, cold beer, delecious burgers, good specials and a lekker vibe. Definitely worth a visit. They have a happy hour (5-7pm) where beer, cocktails and starters are half price. ?

This place is by far one if our favorite burger places. Our favorites are the vanilla thunder - chicken burger, with blue cheese and crumbed mushrooms. You can opt to have burgers Guido style ( with lettuce instead of the bun ). Another huge favorite of ours is THE CAB DRIVER - an amazing chicken pizza. Nice and spicy - just how we like it. Top that off with one of their delicious milkshakes and you good to go! Go early as they get very busy basically every night of the week.
Hudson's milkshakes are the best! I recommend the Horlicks and Honey flavoured one! The burgers were delicious as well. My sister did not enjoy the ostrich burger because it was too dry. Overall a great vibe and friendly service.

Went for an early supper on Tuesday. Really tasty burgers. We had The Boss & The Works and shared The Liberty Slaw. Plenty of food for 2 people. Service was also good. Ideal for a quick pop-in meal.
Hudsons offers a large variety of both burger topping and size. I had the mushroom burger which was delicious. I tasted the beef ribs; these could have contained more sauce. The Hudsons Red Ale craft beer is worth a try, not to mention the house coleslaw!
Best burgers...really tastey pizzas. The Staff could and should be friendlier and more welcoming. Other than that , great food, great prices.
Hudsons has become my son and my regular Wednesday supper spot. The burgers are excellent and the standards consistent every time - the selection of burgers and toppings is great. Pizza and onion rings also to be recommended. The waitresses add a lot of spunk and never fail to flirt with my ten year old son. A solid option - great dude food.
At this moment and time there is no better burger place than Hudson's - we are frequently visiting the one in Claremont because it is about 4 KM from us - I have never - and I mean never - had bad service or food here - if you are looking for a well balance juicy burger patty - this is the place to go.

I've heard the rumours... those shakes are to die for! I've been wanting to try Hudsons for a while and boy was I glad. I went during Happy Hour on a friday afternoon and admit that even at 25, I still felt a little old, Happy Hour is very popular with students! The cocktails are very well priced at R20 and they have great half price starters to go with them too. I tried the rolled up bacon, avo and feta pizza which was also roughly R20 and oh so delicious!

Perfect spot for students after a long day of lectures and/ studying. Happy hours from 16:30-18:30 on weekdays ensures an easy wind down after a long day. Half price cocktails, beers on tap and starters on the menu really set the scene for a good evening. Always a good vibe and friendly waitresses!
Love this place, staff is always smiling, Cocktails are HUGE and yummy which is a bonus point and food is good, not the best Chilli poppers I had but the burgers are delicious !

Best burger joint ( I think) always festive. What I live about this place is the Guido burgers, that's without the roll but will lettuce instead. And not too bad pricing either. Around 50 bucks for a 180g burger. Sides you pay separately. Below pictured is my sons original royals burger topped with onion rings chilly cheddar cheese and bacon.

A mini calzone made of pizza dough and filled with chicken, loads of mozzerella & caramelised onions and then topped with their creamy house peri peri sauce. BEST! We just wish they made a bigger version.

A group of us went to Hudsons for the Rugby World Cup Final. The service was impeccable (we were continuously checked on with very friendly waitresses). The food was tasty and filling and came out in a timely manner even though the venue was very busy. I highly recommend Hudsons.
Sarah was my waitress, Iāve never had better service at Hudsons. They normally struggle when we are in such a large group. (We were a group of 10) Yet she was absolutely incredible, Iād have Sarah as my waitress over anyone else in all my experiences at Hudsons! Food was delicious
So I am a meat eater, tried to donate blood today but my iron levels were too high kind of meat eater. But man, vegan Mondays slap at Claremont Hudsons, that Seoul burger was so damn good! Now next you may wonder what is needed with a damn good burger? An Ice Cold beer! And thank goodness for Sarah Jessica....Parker?(Didn't get her last name), the Newest, most stunning waitress in the joint, she made sure my beer was perfect, even asked for it to be put in the freezer so it was extra cold! The waitress Zara was excellent; she was attentive and polite. Great experience! 100% recommend the nutella waffles, though you should plan to share them with a friend. Will be back soon.
