Review Cafe Nood - Claremont

Such a vibe. We always return because of the most friendly people ever. The food is absolutely to die for. We always have the Eggs Benedict. It really is the BEST one in Cape Town, if not SA. Thanks for the most awesome vibes ever. ✨️ 💞

Another old favourite that never disappoints. This is a hospitable spot that is always a good place to check in if you have business at Kingsbury Hospital. The staff and competent, courteous, helpful and responsive. The prices are absolutely reasonable and the food is imaginative and delicious.

Beautiful little restaurant. Delicious 😋 meals. Good Atmosphere. Opposite Kingsbury Hospital. Park on the street.

Lovely spot for breakfast in Claremont. The food is delicious, the service is warm and friendly and the atmosphere is serene and laidback. Another plus is that it is dog friendly. Located opposite from Life Hospital (formerly Kingsbury), one of the challenges here is parking. It's limited and the space where you can park is a cash only parking (10-15 parking spaces if that).

Nood is a favourite venue to meet friends or catch up on work. The food is adventurous and delicious the ambience calm and the staff are always warm and welcoming. Artworks displayed are for sale and a percentage goes to Red Cross Children's Hospital. Every guest I have introduced to this restaurant has returned.

Only had breakfast here but always had a great experience. Very popular so seating can be a challenge. Paid parking is relatively easy.

It’s quite cool inside albeit a bit cramped where we sat. It was really hard to find the place and parking. I can’t remember what the food was like.

Despite my early reservations about how the place looks from outside, this was a terrific experience. It's a serious breakfast spot that sits in a dark-ish area of Claremont but very safe. The service makes this place a 5 star for me. The staff give an effort even if the food can sometimes be a fraction on the slow side. Definitely worth it!

Always have had great services and meals here

Delicious food, friendly hosts, lovely waiters. Their cheesecake is fabulous

Great service from our waiter Donald! We were 8 members at the table. All of our food was served together maybe which was lovely. Usually one is waiting 10 minutes or so for other memebers food to come when you order different meals, this wasnt the case. We all enjoyed it together while it was still hot. Food was amazing had the croissant, salmon and scrambled eggs. Great portion size especially when it comes to like salmon, a awesome amount was given and I was so happy. Pricing for food is definitely worth it. Enjoyed my time and will be going again. Thank you

Nood is such an awesome little spot situated in the heart of the numerous health & medical businesses which it caters for. At first glance is seems to be a small and simple coffee shop but after my 2nd visit this week I'd rate it as my new favourite coffee shop in the southern suburbs! The decor and design create such a functional yet comfortable atmosphere and the service from staff and management was 1st class! Very affordable prices and really good coffee. Only 1 room to improve..the savoury muffins look delicious but were very bland and almost "dusty" dry...Sorry Mr. muffin maker..I mean no insult but rather offer constructive criticism..Please tweak your recipe a little for your new frequent visitor. 🙂

A lovely cafe for breakfast, brunch or lunch. One of the best Eggs Bennies in town. Delicious cakes - we recommend the cheesecake. They also have a good selection of gluten free cakes. Prices are reasonable and great cuppacino. Very friendly service and the art for sale creates a lovely ambiance.

Miss going there, they go out of their way for you. (I'm very picky) the staff always have a smile Margo & Anton really care for the customer's needs and have a cheerful word for them. The food is delicious and enjoyable. Well worth a visit.

Love this place! Always the best food, friendly and attentive service (thank you Donald), and world class coffee. A must visit, owner run, one in a million gem. Thanks all :*

Great menu options. Very good staff. Nice vibe. Lots of high end restaurants can take a leaf out of their book.

Margo went out of her way to make my fiance's birthday special! I don't live in Cape Town, so I just asked her if I could pay in advance for his regular, favourite cake and coffee. She made a card, added a candle and a chocolate heart, and I am so grateful for the extra effort she put in without being asked. I have yet to try the famous carrot cake, but I can't wait 😁 Thank you so much, Margo 🌸

Lovely Cafe, with delicious foods. Friendly staff too.

We went to their 1st anniversary art exhibition and cocktail party and had the best pizza ever!! What friendly owners too. We will be back!

The place is beautiful inside. There is a small section with artwork where you can sit in comfort, admire and even purchase some of the art.

The coffee tasted like a house brew - had a sweet and almost almond flavor to it.

Unfortunately the eggs Benedict was tasteless. The hollandaise sauce was slightly tangy, which was good, but the eggs just didn’t do the dish justice. Hmmm, maybe this is way I prefer organic! The rocket was dry and also...tasteless.

Anyway, better luck next time Nood! ✌🏼

I've been here twice. Once for a drink and this time for breakfast. The waiter was extremely friendly and helpful and the service was fast. The breakfast was amazing! The eggs were perfectly cooked and the bacon delciously crispy. Would definitely recommend this place.

I found Cafe Nood by accident; I was in the area for an appointment and needed to kill some time, and here is this delightful little cafe that I couldn't resist going into.

Their coffee is very good - I've tried a Gingerbread Latte and a Mochachino, both of which I liked. But the real winner is their Lemon Scones. I was lucky to be there early enough that they had literally just come out of the oven. Served with jam, cheese and cream, let me tell you, I was #blessed (and I don't use that hashtag lightly!).

Looking forward to going back next time I'm in the area.

Cute little spot almost hidden behind bushes but also conveniently located near Kingsbury Hospital and Library Square. It serves up the most divine breakfasts and healthy lunches! The decor is very quirky but interesting to look at. The parking option nearby is the only downside as the rates are annoyingly high. But otherwise it's a great option to go for if you are in the area.

Great food and fantastic service! Great place to work at in between meetings while having a lunch and a coffee! Definitely will come back again!
Cozy spot in Claremont, lovely for relaxed alone time on a Saturday morning. Our waiter was excellent! Very professional and made the experience all the more lovely. Had the bacon Eggs Benedict, wasn't as flavorful as I am used to, but coupled with fresh orange juice was just the kickstart I needed for the day.

I would give this restaurant a 5 but haven't as the parking fee was ridiculous. Not sure if I would go back because of this. I paid R38 and I was only there for lunch. My food and flat white were yummy! I had a quiche with a big side salad. My friend had the chicken wrap. Service was quick and friendly. I would go back if they change the parking service as I think this is ridiculous and theres no alternative or cheaper parking near by.

The cafe is nicely set up, with a decent menu. Lots of healthy options that I stayed away from, as there are plenty of not so healthy yet delicious alternatives. They do their own range of breads which is great, there'll be something for everyone's tastes. I've only had breakfast here, and you can make up your own dish if the standard fare doesn't appeal. There's also a big variety of cakes and pastries to choose from. Three of us ate here, and all were happy with the food and the service.

Good, healthy food in a convenient location. The food is so good that it converted an omelette friend of mine into a lover of them. The service is quick and efficient and I would recommend it for early-morning breakfast runs.

Well situated next door to Kingsbury Hospital.
What a clean, fresh and welcoming restaurant/coffee shop with quick, efficient service and quality food.
Ryan Goodman
Great coffees, tasty salads, a selection of cakes/desserts and cool artwork from select local artists. Reasonably priced. A great place for breakfast or lunch
Food Ninja
A lovely cafe indeed - loved the art and it's not a noisy breakfast venue so it gives me time to wake up. Delicious bacon. My son had eggs bennie - he rates this 8/10 and he is a harsh eggs bennie critic. I had medium poached eggs, pecorino cheese and rocket - too much rocket but perfectly poached eggs. Hubby had the Salmon eggs bennie. Friendly and efficient service. Good Lattes.

Decided to use my Entertainer voucher at Café Nood for breakfast this morning. Café Nood is tucked away in a little corner of Claremont and I would have probably never come across it. It's quite a cute, yet oddly different café - almost like a mini art exhibition.

Our waitress was super friendly and the owner was also just as friendly. We tried their fresh juices - the ginger was quite over powering in my apple, carrot and ginger juice, and it would have been nice if the pieces of ginger weren't so chunky. My mushroom and feta omelette was really filling and worth the price.

Would like to go back to give their bakes a try.
Rebecca Francis-Pope
I absolutely love Cafe Nood! Tucked away in Claremont, the cafe is warm and inviting and perfect for a warm beverage and a pastry treat in these winter months. Also love their breakfast pizza and fresh fruit juices.
Chloe
Good food with an interesting selection on their menu, especially for lunch. Just went for a quick breakfast and had an omelette which was good with a slice of Carb free bread which was average but I won't complain because you rarely get carb free options. They lose a point because they serve what is definately the worst coffee in Cape Town! Otherwise the waiter was friendly and I would still definately go back to try their other options

Very decent coffee and an impressive array of freshly baked delectable treats.

I walked into Nood at about 08:45 on Wednesday (25-05-16). I was greeted warmly upon entering, by a young gentlemen named Dirk. I requested an Americano with hot milk, as I seated myself.

My Americano was served promptly, literally within minutes of having sat down. The cup was a light-medium roast with rich aroma and it grabbed the tongue with a good earthy acidic taste, a bit tart in fact, without the addition of milk - but full of flavour, (too often the water used, for the infusion, is too hot and many flavours of the roast are lost).
My coffee was served as a double by default, at a pretty standard price of R 19.00.

I found myself compelled to sample something of the freshly baked treats, and my slice of chocolate brownie proved quite satisfactory, both in portion size and in its soft consistency with embedded whole almonds. Although satisfying, I won’t be going so far as to say it was a bargain at R 30.00 for the slice.

Dirk was a pleasant and charismatic waiter, both with me and with two ladies seated at the next table. I found the service to be attentive, though I did notice myself waiting to request the bill.

The decor is modern and the walls are adorned with artworks, which I love! (all for sale, and proceeds go towards a children’s trust). But these have been labelled with putrid yellow tags that have been carelessly slapped onto the frames of the artworks as an after thought. Quite frankly it gives a tacky appearance that detracts from the otherwise elegant environment. (neutral coloured labels next to the artwork please)

All considered; I would definitely recommend dropping by if you are in the area.
Great food. Always something new and exciting. Family running the Cafe. The chef comes up with delicious and exciting dishes. They have lunch special menu that changes regularly and offer banting option, though it is hard to resist the delicious treat that are on display. Clean and comfy, totally recommend Nood. The coffee though, for me, is a bit weak and milk too hot/burned. Still my favorite place to go.

This little restaurant was a wonderful surprise. I'm not a big coffee fan, but I love my tea and Cafe Nood did not disappoint. They have great new unique options of tea's and juices and I particularly enjoyed the Red Symphony.
Their eggs benedict is delicious with the eggs being done to perfection and their omelette is a generous serving.
I can't wait to return to try more....

This little place surprised me. It was a new breakfast spot to try out and I really enjoyed being there! It isn't the most beautiful settings, but if you look up you have a beautiful oak tree to gaze at during your meal.
We had the eggs benedict and wow! Eggs benedict should always be a simple dish, as it is a classic, and something about it made me want to say it's around the top of my list for places to go to for a good (and affordable) straight eggs Benedict.
The service was incredibly friendly, with the manager and the waiter always being close by and making us feel welcome.
I will definitely return to this incredibly underrated place

Great coffee and a really nice, intimate little restaurant. There are a couple of tables inside and outside and it's quiet and cosy enough to have private conversations and business meetings. The chef likes to experiment so there are always interesting cakes on display, as well as the usual tempting brownies and cupcakes. Great place to pop into if you're in the area or if you're at the hospital.

Stopped here for breakfast and it was alright nothing to be excited about. I chose the breakfast selection of salmon, egg and crème fraiche. My poached eggs were very watery and I did not enjoy it all all. Although the salmon was fresh and enjoy it on toast with the crème fraiche. Not sure if I will be back here. But let's see as I need to try lunch with the entertainer app.

I've been here twice before and this cafè is neatly tucked just out of view of the bustling Main Road. The inside is cosy and my only problem was that there were a couple of flies around our table. Our waitress was friendly and helpful. They don't have much food for vegetarians on their lunch menu so we didn't have much choice.

On my first visit I had the soup of the day which I really enjoyed. My most recent visit saw us having the the roasted tomato sandwich with their homemade ricotta cheese . The ricotta was completely tasteless which rather disappointing. The portion size was also a bit small. We also has a starter pizza bread and it was really good, they were generous with the feta. To end our meal we had a slice of carrot cake which was divine, we couldn't stop eating.

Overall it was a pleasant lunch. The highlight was definitely the cake. My sister also enjoyed her red iced tea which she found refreshing. There was definitely a value for money element to this meal, and I would like to go back to try the breakfast menu.

A cute little breakfast, quite a hidden spot. But a gem indeed.

The friendliest staff I've encountered in awhile, they were more than happy to let the entire breakfast party create their own meals - at no extra charge.

The food was delicious, but did come at a fraction of a wait. There is a amazing selection of cakes and confectionery, everything looked amazing.

An overall pleasant experience, worth going back for!

I popped into Nood for a quick breakfast but there was nothing quick about it. It was the second time I had been to Nood and was hoping the service had improved from the last time. I went in, no one assisted or greeted me at the door. A menu was brought to me and I waited nearly 15min for anyone to take my order. Someone else was also helped before me. My order was correct, the staff was not rude, food was ok but service just very slow. It was only when I got up, thinking I need to order at the front when someone came to help me. Don't think I'll be back :(

Service great, food great, left happy. Had eggs benedict (amazing bacon!) and my wife had an omelette. I enjoyed the interesting juice menu, had a watermelon, cranberry and mint juice in a jar.
Will be back

One great thing about Nood is that even though they are not specifically an Italian restaurant, their ham, pineapple and chicken pizza which my sister and I "designed" which was amazing! Such a great taste and service was quick and staff friendly. The chocolate brownie cake was also pretty decent. That being said, they have lovely and unique decor.

Nood had become one of my favorite places to have breakfast or lunch. Such amazing staff that greet you with a smile on their face. They make the most amazing breakfast wrap: salmon, cream cheese, scrambled egg and rocket, also fantastic hazelnut lattes!

When I visit a restaurant there are three things that matter:
Friendly service - at Cafe Nood not only is it friendly, it is also swift and accurate. Nothing is to much trouble for the owners and staff alike.
Variety - from wholesome light meals, main meals to exquisite pastries, more than you can devour in a month of Sundays!
Value for money - sure thing at Cafe Nood. Go see for yourself.

From the moment we stepped through the door right until we left we were made to feel very welcome. The food and service was excellent. I would highly reccommend Nood and can't wait to come back again.

Thank you for such scrummy food.

A hidden gem of note! I discovered Nood while I was visiting my twins in NICU at Kingsbury Hospital. Their coronation chicken sandwich is AMAZING. Nood is kind of hidden so look nicely on the corner otherwise you may miss it. Great outdoor area as well, bake in the sun. Free wifi is also available which is just great.

Nood is a fantastic discovery, quaintly tucked away on a bustling corner.

The food is superb, the coffee is spot on, the internet is fast, the service is great, the staff are friendly and Margo, the owner, is hands on and approachable. The right recipe!

I highly recommend the Chai Latte, it's unlike any other...spicy, thick and creamy!

All in all this is a great find and highly recommended.

Sean.

This place is a little gem! Never knew it existed until I started going to Transfit, and now it's like my regular spot, whether just for a cup of coffee, or for a tasty, fresh meal. Staff are super friendly and welcoming, without smothering you, and the service is quick and great. It's health-orientated, but that wide spread of treats and baked goods on the table (which they make everyday) is unavoidable. The chocolate nemesis is to die for - do yourself a favour and get a take-away slice. It's always warm and buzzing; great little vibe going on at this cafe.

Best carrot cake in town and great coffee to boot! Service is friendly and efficient and prices arent too bad either 👍 laid back atmosphere where you can chill and while the morning away...

Cafe Nood has all the ambiance and flair of the traditional corner cafe dotted across Europe. Its wonderful staff and exceptional menu provides a wonderful experience for patrons. Whether you intend grabbing a quick 'cuppa on the go' or a business lunch, the venue and menu is ideal.

Not only is the food of excellent quality , matched only by the service, but the location is also prime.

It is definitely worth a visit and the Mocha is a definite must!!
