Review Jewel Of India - Cape Town

You think Durban has good curry? Think again! Best butter chicken curry I have managed to find in the entire Cape Town! Super friendly staff , great service , perfect portions and dont forget the naans that melt in your mouth! 100% would come back here each and every time I want quality Indian food, you can feel the love the chef puts into his meals!

Third time we ate at this restaurant. Food is devine. Prepared in true Indian style. Owners are very nice and also up for a bit of a conversation.

This is the second time that we have dined at this restaurant on our holiday from the UK and again we were not disappointed. The restaurant is small and intimate and the food is excellent. I have dined at many Indian restaurants in the UK and around the world and I can honestly say that the food here is spicy, fresh and authentic. If you live in Durbanville you are lucky to have this on your doorstep. If you are visiting, then make sure you visit the Jewel of India for a classic Indian menu.

I had the best butter chicken and yes was blown away by the taste. We ordered for the first time from them but they really are authentic Indian cuisine. Clean , Flavorsome & Authentic. A must for Indian Curry Lovers.

Absolutely delicious curry that puts authentic durban curry to shame. The restaurant has not been open for long, so some work is to be done on the decor - but you cannot eat decor. Come for the food. The waiters are friendly and efficient, and the manageress/owner is very insightful and helpful in helping make choices to suite individual tastes. It is not fast food, but it is completely worth the bit of a wait. We will be back very soon!

Good curries, I've only ever had take away but it's always filling and worth the money.

First time trying Indian food in the area. I am usually skiddish since its very overwhelming when you don't know what anything on the menu is. This time I was pleasantly surprised, with a menu that has clear descriptions, as well as very helpful staff that helped us along with ordering and giving their suggestions. The food was amazing, and everything was freshly made, and tasted great. Very happy to recommend this to anyone that wants to try Indian food in the durbanville area, Jewel of India is a definite must try

The food was absolutely delicious, curry's are extremely flavoursome and aromatic. The authentic Indian deserts are a delightful exploration of flavours and textures. For us The Jewel of India is a welcome addition to Durbanville's eateries. We will definitely be returning!

Took my wife here for our wedding anniversary. It was our first time and we were really impressed! Awesome waiter who served us, he was very knowledgable, passionate and friendly. We had the butter chicken & Lamb Saag Wala, amazing flavors and generous portions. Lovely cosy ambiance. Best Indian restaurant by far in Durbanville, we’ll definitely be back!

What an opening ! Really needed a place like this. Portions are great ! I am a lamb eater and the Lamb Bhunai was the best. The Biryani no one presents in a traditional clay oven pot like Jewel! Well done ! Thanks for opening and no need to go to town to eat ! Loved every bit! Reservation required small place but fills in quickly

Had an excellent meal here last night yet again! The Durban fish curry was delicious and although the restaurant is small the ambiance is very homely and Amishi and staff are so friendly and can’t do enough to help you! We will be there again and again.

The place has changed its Decor with chic furniture and they have taken all precautions. The tables are distanced. Food as always to the notch. Our lamb vindaloo was the best. They have proven to be our best Indian restaurant

Excellent options of Traditional Indian curry, from vegetarian to chicken and lamb, offered in a range of dishes and strengths. There are unique teas, puddings, naan bread with fillings. Definitely worth a visit. Left there feeling on top of the world!

The best Indian places to eat out in Durbanville. The staff and the owner, Ajit, is very friendly. They help you to choose your meal from a variety of options on their menu. I definitely recommend this place to all Durbanvillers. Enjoy! We will definitely be back!

Closest to my mom's curry that I've had since moving to CT. And I've been looking for almost 2 years! Lol. Good vegan options as well. Try the dhall :)
