Review Lua Street Food - Cape Town

Dozens of food stalls selling variety of food and drinks. Some stalls offer testers, it's recommended to walk around before you settle on what to buy. The vibe is also great, friendly staff. There is seating area inside and outside. This place does get busy, specially over the weekends. It's best to visit over the weekday.

They have different options to choose, from Sushi to Pizza, Fish and chips, Baked goods, Coffee, Raw juices to Alcoholic beverages etc. Lua Poke were really quick with our food order, even though it was busy. The food was delicious! One of the best poke bowls, I would highly recommend if you like sushi-related food. Kindly note that this is a tourist area so the prices are high.

I really enjoyed myself at this food market theres a wide range of food to choose from , I went to a fish and chips shop and I have never tasted a fish so good and we also went to a pizza stop but honestly the pizza was too salty and we couldn’t finish it but the food market is a great experience you need to check this place out , the music outside is a total vibe

About twenty small shops serving all types of food like a good court. There is an upstairs area with plenty of seating. Make sure you try the oysters that are freshly shucked right in front of you. Some of the places are hit and miss so make sure to see the ones where there are a lot of people. There is an ATM machine upstairs with the restrooms.

Wicked waffles has the best waffles i ever tasted!!! Love it! And the guy there is super friendly and excellent, his name is Innocent, perfect 👌

A place slightly reminiscent of Singaporean food hawkers, but without the noise. There are many vendors offering a decent variety of options. Probably a good choice for groups, where each person gets what they want to eat.

I really love this place, I won't leave cape town until I make a stop here. I do however rate it 3 because the variety is not that wide, and it hasn't expanded more potentially with even a few more changes or new trendy food stalls to explore in so many years. But I still do believe it's a staple so I always go back for something. Or just to explore what's new or still there, also to enjoy reminiscing about Previous visits and good memories.

Lovely market with huge selection of interesting restaurants. Really nice vibe. I went twice and tried different things and both were delicious! Good value for money. Mostly street food style dishes like Korean sticky chicken and fish and chips.

This place will surely stimulate your culinary senses. It is a market full with foods from around the world. From fresh Sushi to Italian bakes. Take your time to explore both upstairs and down before trying a few dishes. Go with a buddy and share the experience or have some alone time with a live band to entertain you as you dine.

I waited over 15 minutes for my food which was very disappointing. <br/><br/>I ordered the classic prawn roll with peanut sauce. The actual roll was filling and you could taste that the ingredients were fresh. I'm hoping to try more of their stuff with hopefully quicker service.

Wanted to try a healthier option at the Food Market and so stumbled across this place. <br/>The rolls themselves were disappointing - they were bland/ lacked flavour and fall apart easily. <br/>The staff also only wear one glove when putting the dishes together which is off-putting. <br/>Wouldn't recommend this place.

Fresh, healthy, tasty springrolls: what more do you need?<br/><br/>Its not hard to understand why this place is doing so well, they stick to one core product and they deliver on their promise. Hard to find a better proposition for a light and tastefully healthy bite at the V&A Foodmarket.

The layout of this place is very appealing which is what drew me to it. I'm not always the most adventurous of eaters so I ordered the prawn rolls minus the mango. To my disappointment the rolls were tasteless and the only thing that helped make them edible and somewhat tasty was the spicy dipping sauce that I was given with my meal.

I went to the Market on the Wharf looking for something new and decided on LUA. I always walk past the rice paper rolls cause I'm on the look out for something more substantial. <br/><br/>I really like their set up - it's simple and clean. Their menu is very limited, there are a few rice paper rolls and a few noodle salads all of which look good. <br/><br/>We had the prawn and mango as well as the chicken. We were given dipping sauces as well. The rolls were very dry and tasteless and the sauces weren't very nice. The one sauce was just plain fish sauce. We asked for soy sauce instead but they didn't have any. The rolls were made very haphazardly and fell to pieces at the first bite and ended up being a very big mess. I'm still disappointed. <br/><br/>I don't think I'll be heading back any time soon.

I tried the prawn as well as the chicken. Both contained interesting flavours but the prawn was by far my favourite. The spicyness that the dipping sauce added was delicious. The biggest problem is eating it though, it has a tendency to fall apart so definitely not date food.
