Review Gigi Rooftop - Cape Town

Went for a lovely stay at the Gorgeous George Hotel, as well as the dinner and breakfast experience. All I can say is...it was absolutely GORGEOUS!!! Lovely service all round, the team was full of smiles and very welcoming. Food was incredible, with no mistakes even though our diet was complex. Showed how the chefs could accomodate and be flexible regardless of the requirements and needs of each guest. Rooms were very comfortable, slept like a baby. Lovely appliances and clean environment, the bathroom was especially well designed and user-friendly. All in all, lovely comforting vibe and atmosphere. Vintage interior with plenty of amazing artworks, but at the same time classy, modern and sophisticated designs bring out the energy suitable for all kinds of people to wind down and have an unforgettable GORGEOUS experience. Incredible experience, highly recommended for anyone visiting Cape Town ready to stay in the centre of town and feel the vibes of the Mother City! Take care til next time:)

This is definitely an out of the ordinary experience. Star it for date night or a special occasion. At night, the vibe here is like something out of a movie. The decor of the hotel lobby, lift and restaurant is brilliant. The fun starts the moment you enter the lift. Food was great and the veggie options were FANTASTIC. Doing a sober month, so no feedback on the cocktails or drinks list but the bar looks to be well stocked. Good to look at too. Will definitely go back for a proper sesh at the bar. The virgin cocktails were excellent. Only downside is that the seats at our table were really uncomfortable. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED as an experience and for food

An exceptional dining experience, service flawless. Just I wish that our waiter didn’t force us to buy water “for the table” because we didn’t even drink that water which costs R55 🥲🥲 even though we told her we need a minute to decide what we want to drink. Small potions and felt like I was in buckingham palace, the place is gorgeous! 03 October 2023 reply to the owner. She did force us with the water for the table even though we mentioned more than we once that we needed a moment to decide what we wanted to drink, she literally brought the water to our table even though we had made it clear that we don''t want water , thank you!

To be fair, went for lunch during the week, was pretty empty (worked out in our favour) staff were friendly and at your service. Menu of the day compromised of seafood only🤷🏽‍♂️not a train smash - food was well prepared, great textures and aromas (compliments to the chef), meal felt light; although on the last fork full i was amply satisfied. Parking seems to be the only snag

Really nice dinner on a Sunday evening. We had the green gazpacho, the globe artichokes and the seared tuna - all which were delicious. Also nice wine and excellent cocktail (Gigi Club). Atmosphere was good - not packed but it was late on a Sunday night. Design was cool, including the art when you walk in on the stairs.

We visited gigi for breakfast! We were the second table who got seated when they opened in the morning. It was a little difficult to find the entrance after we parked the car - had to navigate through a building first. We loved the interior of the restaurant. The outdoor seating had heating on the ceiling so it is very comfy to dine even in cold weather. Food came very fast after we had ordered. From ordering to finishing our meal, we probably took less than 45 minutes. Service was great as well. The waitress was very friendly :)

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. The food was super tasty and the vibe was really fun and lively. The cocktails weren’t 100% to my taste but they were still enjoyable. The churros were absolutely amazing - I would highly recommend those. Would 100% go again

Had an amazing lunch with friends on the rooftop, a perfect place on a hot day with a cool breeze blowing with an ice cold beer. The staff were friendly and attentive with the food and drink orders taken on a timely basis. The Venison Filet I had was medium to rare and done perfectly with a side of fries and corn, very delicious. So for a laid-back yet upmarket feel do come on up and soak in the sun.

Loved the vibe. On the street, it’s super loud and hectic. Rooftop is on the 6th floor (top floor of the hotel). It’s nice, serene and has a Seattle esque vibe. Drinks are great, food is super decent, service is on the slow side though. There’s a nice pool as well but it may be for hotel guests only (not sure, I didn’t ask). Very decent menu options. I loved it.

Caught up with an old school friend last night at this rooftop bar. We had an amazing time. Delicious, really innovative cocktails, incredibly friendly staff and amazing food. The mielies and green bean sides were the best not to mention the steak! We had such a great evening, the atmosphere in the restaurant was great and I love the swimming pool!

I was there with my family for a birthday dinner , and everything was lovely from the entrance to the seating arrangements . I love the treatment that we had with the staff our tables waitress was Mekayla very kind young lady . The food is definitely a 10 for me as it was well served and cooked as requested. The live music was another fun part too .

WOW!!! What can I say, what a place! Cape Town has some gems and this is one of them, set on a boutique hot rooftop in the CBD. Finding parking was a challenge, so I’d suggest grabbing a taxi to the hustling city venue location. The venue is just amazing, with some so much creative appeal, think industrial tones of raw, exposed concrete and steelwork, woven with modern Victorian elements. Not to mention the eye watering stunning mosaic pool that softens the elements. The food was a great, though not cheap, but for the experience, still a 5/5. The wood-fire option for carnivores are the go-to I’m told, although, I followed my tastebuds on this charming afternoon lunch, opting for oysters to start, and the wood-fire baby chicken, and my wife the Tuna Niçoise salad together with two sides. Again the choice, was wide and difficult to make, but the quality was amazing, fresh and delicious. We were there on a quietish mid-week afternoon, for a celebratory lunch, and service was attentive and slick. Wine list was not wide, but offered enough for most. I would imagine the after work and early evening crowd could get super vibey in this trendy venue. Guess, I’ll have to visit, again, again and again. Ciao SB

Excellent breakfast and great cocktails at night. Loved the decor, night time DJ and ambiance. Mixologists we’re amazing. Fun spot to hangout.
