Review Yindee's - Cape Town

Authentic Thai feel at this restaurant, which was really refreshing. I got to sample many dishes and really enjoyed some while others I found a bit too sweet. The chefs are obviously really good, but in my opinion they could be slightly restrained by our local palates. I will definitely visit again and try more of the menu.

Dishes served with hot rice are the best. The way Thai people eat is sharing dishes, so you can order various menus to try and enjoy with friends or family. About Taste of foods are Thai orignal, some they adapt for the other nationalists. Thus, enjoy the food, feel good the vibe, and Thai instrument music in background.

Great as a solo activity. Food is absolutely divine, melts off the tongue. Their vegan options are quite delectable and I've never tasted a tom yum soup with so much flavour. If you have a starter their portions are quite large enough to keep as left overs. The rice has to be ordered separate to the curry. I'd like to recommend the coconut rice which was so amazing. In the cushion section, you are required to take your shoes off. During the time I was there there was no heating (that I could feel but a general room temperature) so dress fairly warm on chilly night's. Their sparkling water was made with a plant based plastic which was very impressive. The manger/owner is quite friendly and the staff members give her best pairing recommendations from starter to dessert. No wheelchair entrance. Money well spent.

This place offers the most incredible and authentic Thai food in Cape Town. The staff and chefs are truly the best. I was blown away by how friendly, helpful and heartwarming everyone was. During my trip, I visited twice, and both times were unforgettable. On a day when I wasn't feeling well and craved comforting Thai food away from home, they kindly prepared a delicious fish porridge just the way I needed it. All my friends loved it there too. I highly recommend trying the 'Pad Kee Mao' or drunken noodles; the flavor is truly Thai and sooo good! 🙏🏻 Second time on my birthday, the staff went above and beyond to make it special. They surprised me with a delightful fried ice cream dessert, turned off the lights, and sang 'Happy Birthday.' It was such a heartwarming moment that even brought tears to my eyes. I want to extend a big thanks to P’Nirun (the chef), Mal (the manager), Blessing (the staff) and all the Yindee’s crews for making my day so memorable. I will cherish this experience and definitely plan to come back here again for more wonderful times. 👍🏻🇹🇭🥘

From moment of arrival to departure, the welcome...offer for general or traditional, staff and everything; meal and atmosphere 5stars...I will be back. I hosted my French teacher Philemone for a meal as part of our in person French class and this restaurant, staff, meal did not disappoint. I was able to practice my French and connect with other (French guests). Brilliantly blissful...definitely 5stars in all categories. Thank you

Yindee Thai restaurant Camp Street A wonderful restaurant, tucked away in a busy Cape Town street. The staff are warm and welcoming. The seating is unusual … cushions on the floor with low tables for those who would like the whole Thai experience. The service is quick … and the food delicious.

We had a great authentic Thai dining experience. We love Thai cuisine and this was as comparable in taste, ingredients and freshness as you would find in Thailand. Ambience in the restaurant was peaceful and seating options including low tables and cushions for those wanting to have an immersive Thai experience. Thank you for the amazing meal, professional and friendly service.

We had such a great night last night at Yindee's Authentic Thai Restaurant. The staff were hospitable and friendly and made us feel so welcome. The waitress knew the menu so well that she was able to give detailed information about the various meals when we asked for recommendations. I was a bit concerned about the spiciness/heat of the dish I wanted and our waitress said she would mention it to the chef so that they could adjust the meal accordingly. The food was superb. We had the corn fritters (out of this world!) and satay pork as a starter and then half a deboned duck and panang curry. The portions were generous and the flavors authentic. We spent the last minutes of our evening discussing when we should return and with whom. It was a 10/10.

Went for my father's birthday and had an amazing experience! The atmosphere is very welcoming and our amazing server, Blessing, checked in with us for orders and drink refills frequently with a familiar, funny and friendly attitude. The manager was also friendly and hands-on, checking in often to make sure that everything was to our satisfaction. Cocktails were well priced and the chicken pad thai was absolutely phenomenal, the moment I had my first bite I was in heaven! When our food arrived our table of 10 was quiet save for the sound of happy eating! Staff even brought out deep-fried ice-cream with a candle in and sang happy birthday to all three tables of people that were there for birthdays, Virgo season is very busy haha. The menu also has a variety of foods which was great for those with dietary restrictions. Phenomenal experience for my family and friends!

Located at one of the corners of Kloof Street. Fantastic atmosphere where you can watch the Kloof from the big windows. If you are thinking of Thai food, this is the one.

An intimate experience accompanied by great food and wine. I recommend booking a table. To get the full experience, choose a table with cushions and not seated. There is the option of seated tables for the less adventurous. You will be asked to remove your shoes as your proceed across wooden floors to an intimate table. My partner and I sat by the window, with a view of the mountain and the bustling kloof street. Decor 5/5. traditional Thai, in this setting you are immune to the hustle and bustle of the city. Light conversation, the grounding of the cushions, and the small table make this a very intimate spot for couples where memories can be made. I suggest bringing your date here. Food 5/5. I suggest asking your waitress/waiter if you need assistance in identifying the various curries, as well as the heat levels. We started off with some spring rolls (chicken) and some pork skewers. Both were amazing, especially the pork skewers that melt in your mouth. For mains I had the Phad Thai, which is easily one of the best I have ever had. My partner had a chicken curry which was extra hot. We are heat fanatics so the heat was amazing - a slight buildup and then a sudden explosion on the tongue. I suggest ordering an extra portion of rice if you order a curry to take advantage of all that extra sauce. Leave space for some deep fried coconut ice cream which was a real treat! Service: 5/5 manager (owner?) and waitress were very hands on. My wine glass was never empty and manager checked on us often. It’s the small things. The after dinner cocktails were amazing as well, they have a wide range on offer and I had an aperol spritz while my partner had a gin cocktail. This was a wonderful experience. By the end of our dinner we were fully relaxed, stuffed with good food and wine. This was an amazing experience and a definite must when in Cape Town!

Yindee's is a beautiful and authentic experience. It creates a warm and serene atmosphere in which the busling city and passing cars outside become soothing and decorative lights within large windows. The floor seating creates a sense of being grounded, connecting you with the earth, yourself and your company. There are many enchanting cultural artifacts and beautiful aesthetic moments throughout the restuarant - from floral winding steel work at the entrance to hand carved wooden relief sculptures, bringing texture into the rooms. We started with an amazing jasmine tea, that filled the senses and cleared the mind. Our starters and mains were beautifully presented and deloscious. I highly recommend this wholistically satisfying experience.

Yindee's offers a variety of Thai-inspired cuisine such as curries, stir-fries and soup. The food was well made and served warm. The staff are friendly and attentive of any requests while the atmosphere is welcoming and fits well with the Thai theme of the place.
