Review Cape Town Fish Market - Cape Town Central

Always been a big supporter of CTFM and we decided to treat ourselves today. John was an amazing waiter, very friendly and checked on us every few minutes. We ordered the Coronita cocktails not realizing they “serve 2”. Delicious, worth the money. Food was great and very fresh, will return soon, especially if John can serve us again.

Been a while since I had such a good meal, Prawn tacos, sushi and beef ribs 😋. We just had to thank the sushi chefs on our way out which to our surprise was all woman. We all had a laugh about it 🤣 in the end. The whole meal was very well prepared 100% sushi was fresh , beef ribs was cooked to perfection. Will definitely be coming back and keep up the good work guys from the waiters to the chefs 👨‍🍳

Beautiful views from the restaurant, even at night. Friendly staff. The seafood platter I ordered was dry. The presentation was not appetizing. Everything was just cramped into one small plate. I enjoyed the wine more than the food. My cousin ordered steak, and it was very delicious.

Everything was great 👌🏼 Friendly staff and delicious food we tried California rolls - Tempura fried - Seafood noodles - prawns tacos 🌮 🦞 And we like it Highly recommended 🫶🏼

Food was yum I ordered the exec platter, service is a bit slow and one of their card terminals didn't work so had to wait a bit to pay. Otherwise service is friendly and efficient enough. Good setting, not expensive. And great for pop in when you feel like having options other than fish! Their meat dishes are tasty too.

Enjoyed a lovely family dinner. Good food, good service and good vibes. Had salmon sashimi (tasted good but inconsistently cut) and the Mixed Poke Bowl (salmon, tuna & prawns). Would be great if the white sushi rice was replaced with black rice to elevate the dish. It would be far tastier. All in all, another pleasant experience at CTFM V&A Waterfront.

This place as its name mentions is specialised in fresh seafood products. On top of the classical menu, they also offer a large variety of sushi as well. Ideal place for a family feast!

We were seated immediately and our waiter knows how to sell a dish. Was not disappointed. Ordered the Kalk bay platter and few sides. Gosh the calamari was amazing and the prawns was huge and fresh. You could tell it just came from the pan to my plate. Wish there were 10 stars.... 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

My brother and I ordered steaks. Mine was overcooked. His was raw. Only after we sent it back, they got it right. The food was delicious but we were disappointed because of the time and effort wasted with the initial dishes. We love the V&A branch and they set the standard of service, so we expected the same. The waitress didn't even acknowledge or apologise for the poor service. The manager was nice though. But why did it have to take all this to have a good experience first time?

I read the reviews on all the CTFM pages and was a bit hesitant about going at first, I literally went in with zero expectations, but as soon as we got there, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and immediately taken to our table, we asked to be seated on the outside (we booked a table) and oh my, the views were spectacular and the food was to die for, hot fresh and delicious. I think CTFM has the best prawns by the way. I loved every moment of being there and I would definitely recommend that people visit this branch. 10/10 well done

Consistently good quality food, decent service, and a nice location with views of the Canal Walk complex. Soft seats. Can be a bit difficult to find on the upper floor up the escalator. Sushi bar with sushi conveyor belt too.

Food was not as great as the branch we usually go to. Service by Aman was excellent. Atmosphere was great. Enjoyed the scenery overlooking the waters edge.

Was a wonderful experience. Great food and friendly staff and it was also my first time there, I would 100% recommend it. Take your family or friends or even have a date there you won't regret it.

Beautiful restaurant. Sushi options a bit limited on the belt. Otherwise tasty and wine ice cold. Service was good
Hendrik Pieterse
Good food and good service. The food was nice and not overpriced. Sushi was fresh and very tasteful.

Haven't visited this restaurant for a good few years. Then last Saturday we were shopping late and I fancied sushi so went in and had a very pleasant meal, made even more so by not being particularly expensive. Great 👍

Absolutely disappointed by the service we received on Sunday. It was around afternoon, not in anyway busy and that's why we don't understand the poor service we received at the Canal Walk CTFM. We sat in the smoking area. The lady we thought was our waitress, sat us down at a dirty table. I requested the table to be cleaned up, our waiter then showed up and I made the same request. After about 5 minutes the waiter arrived with a cloth, followed shortly by the first lady with a cloth. Our drinks took nine minutes, our food took quite a long time than it should have. We had to ask other waiters to get our drinks refilled and our table cleared. The ashtray was not changed, even once through out the meal. Our first round of drinks came with lemon slices, but had to request them in the second round. Our waiter did not check up on us at any point. We had to ask another waiter to request him to bring our bill, even then, he sent someone else to bring it to us, even though he could see I was watching him. We eventually had to go pay at the pay point after waiting there for a while for assistance. Absolutely appalled.

I'm a regular at the V&A where I normally get excellent service but I was greatly disappointed with my experience yesterday at their Canal walk branch. I walked in and the hostess sat us appropriate then we sat there for over 10 minutes without getting service. I could understand if our waiter was busy but communication is key. To allow your guests to know that you acknowledge them upon arrival . To make matters worse another table had walked in five minutes after we sat and they got their orders in before us. I don't understand whether it's because we are black or what but it's hard not to think the staff wasn't being racist when we were about the only blacks in the restaurant not getting any service. We later decided to leave the place then a waiter showed up and literally asked us, did you guys get serviced. Which was evident enough that we hadn't but at that point I decided to walk out without causing a scene and ate at another restaurant. I'm so disappointed and definitely got my experience ruined with your shop!

The Prawn Stir Fry is amazing! Generous portion, very filling and enough prawns. This was one of the best meals I've ever had at this franchise. Thank you to the chef and the waitress who served us - she was attentive and helpful despite us being in a rush. Great service and experience. Well done!
Denzil Maggott
Not the best service, waited more than 10min to be acknowledged by a waiter. The food is always inconsistent. I order the same meal, grilled hake and rice, but every time the flavours vary. Today the waiter brought my fish fried instead of grilled, waited another 10 minutes for the food I actually ordered. I will add that I am a avid customer of the CTFM at Grandwest Casino. The 1uality of food is superb! Service is amazing too. No wonder this CTFM is not as busy in Cape Towns biggest mall. Fyi, I am eating my main course right now and my sushi plates is yet to be cleared. I won't be back after today.

I visited the canal restaurant last night, I received the most appalling ever. First the was a changed of waiters with no proper handover from Pauline to some guy who didn't even introduce himself, second we waited more than 10 minutes for drinks order, third I ordered false bay platter is came without muscles, I then asked for a manager the hostess answered "She not here". Brian came to rescue the situation but kept on offering food. I've been to Tygervalley and Waterfront CTFM and received awesome service but the service I got was shocking.
Bennet Hines
Excellent quality food and great Sushi. Service is always top marks. Canal walk is our best Fish Market!
Dale Justin Williams
Not worth the price. Food was good but definitely not worth what I paid. And to top if off.. R50 for a virgin daiquiri! Insane!

Few years back I took the wife to canalwalk branch for our anniversary and we eventually walked out because the service was appalling..... what a nice surprise we had yesterday when we tried your service again after a long while...... service was bloody good and the food was perfect......keep working on staff ettiquet and you will do very well..... thank you for the improvement Service Service and always service
Candice Hoekstra Klue
We spent our anniversary at your restaurant last night. Everything was absolutely amazing. Your staff were friendly and welcoming and restaurant was clean (comparing to another CTFM branch we visited recently). The service was prompt. The food was heavenly (albeit the dessert which could be improved upon, but not terrible). We had a table of tapas goodies. Everything was fresh and beautifully presented. This is our second pleasing visit and we'll definitely be back. Thank you

This has to be the worst ripoff ever. Cape Town Fish Market Canal Walk, terrible food, terrible customer service. I wish I'd read the reviews here before visiting. Would never go back, and would never recommend them. Overpriced nonsense!!
Faldelah Schloss Marcus
This is my no1 eating place always as me and my family enter canal walk strait 2 cape town fish market lol
Willem Kruger
Just went to canal walk cfm. Hosted seated me down. Waited 15min with service. Waiters walking past. Talking at stations. Not even busy. Pooor service. Aren't waiters supposed to have bays to look after. Enjoying john dories now!!
Tayla Martin
We had a sushi lunch. The food was amazingly fresh! The service was great! I ordered my favourite prawn nigiri and wasabi parcel as always. It's just with the wasabi on the wasabi parcel was a bit overpowering but everything else was amazing! Will definitely go again to try other dishes!
Nadine Staggie
Food was delicious. I opted for the chicken schnitzel which itself was a bit dry, but the accompanying sauce compensated for the lack of moisture in the schnitzel. The sushi is always top tier. I tried the prawn croquettes as well which were tasty and great as an appetiser. The service was a tad slow though.
Damian
Situated in a quiet corner away from the noisy mall, the restaurant provides a warm intimate setting. The service is satisfactory and so is the food. Nothing to write home about but not bad at all. Decent drinks menu that should satisfy any customer. Worth the money.
Jillian Nyakane
The service and the food was exceptionally great. I nibbled on most of my colleague's food and it was all great. The clams were heavenly, the sushi was also divine. My beef ribs were alright but I was already full from nibbling.

Went to CTFM on a date with th girl of my dreams. We just wanted to go eat something nice and have a good chat. Well thats what we did until the food came. We were quiet until the first words we could get out our mussel filled mouths was damn this food is great. Wil definitely go back soon. Best seafood platter ive had by a chain restaurant in a while. And my lady’s kingklip portian she had looked so appetizing i wanted to steal her food. Not that she wouldve let me. Service food wine atmosphere all very nice. Would gladly go back to see if we can have the same experience.

Something Fishy 🐟
Some ups, some downs. The place looks beautiful, loving their fresh and contemporary new look. The fact that they have increased their standards calls for an impressive first impression, from the interior down to the menu. The food was mediocre, certain dishes like the rice paper rolls, chilli poppers and sushi was fairly good but then when ordering the Ebi prawns we were highly dissapointed to be served just tempura prawns which were poorly cleaned (not de-vained). When informing the manager, he was supper attentive and quicky correctified the dish. once receiving the proper advertised dish it was enjoyable. The main critique would be that there needs to be more attention to detail but as an overall experience, it was above average.
My.partner and I went to CTFM Canal Walk on Thursday evening to kick off the weekend. Friendly reception at the entrance and we opted to sit at the belt. Two very friendly sushi chefs were busy prepping. As usual, the seared tuna roses were amazing, as well as the sashimi. I enjoyed the bean curd nigiri - everything tasted very fresh and great care was taken with the preparation thereof. Our server was also friendly and attentive, without being overbearing.
My partner enjoyed his philadelphia rolls tremendously. They may be slightly more expensive than some of the other chains (ocean basket/asami), but the quality is incomparable - Special mention and kudos to the two sushi chefs who delivered excellent service and went out of their way to ensure we were taken care of - they were outstanding.

So I decided to try a platter by ctfm as I craved seafood and wanted to try something other than ocean basket. I was impressed with the service and decor at this branch. Personally, I feel that ctfm is overpriced and their platters are a bit of a rip off in comparison to ocean basket with regards to portion size, price as well as variety. I was not impressed with the taste of the prawns as it was very bland , however the mussels was good and had a lovely sauce.

I am glad I tried ctfm but I would not be visiting again. For seafoods, I would definitely go to ocean basket as I always leave happy and full after a platter. After my platter at ctfm I didn't even feel full.
Mishkah Babletakis
The service was extremely slow when we went two days ago, literally took more than 10 minutes for our order to be taken. The sushi we ordered for starters was nice and fresh but its not a pleasant experience when you see your food on the counter waiting nearly 10 minutes for the waiter to bring it with no knives and forks on the table. We ordered the Kalk Bay platter for two, must say that the hake was fresh and delicious. Overall, the food was average but the service was extremely slow and therefore not a pleasant experience. Made a turn at the CTFM in Canal Walk and opt for the sushi “train”. As per usual, the sushi is fresh and tasty. I posted a picture of the jalapeno poppers! Oh my, it is hot and good! Go and try it out!
Dylan Thomas
Staff are friendly, but the food is overpriced. Sushi is especially expensive, given that competition nearby are as good, or better, and less than half the price. The calamari is pretty good, but the sauce was a bit unusual. The salmon chilli poppers were unusual, opinions were split on the table, so I'd say try and make up your own mind. Do order the cheesy garlic bread, that was really well made and smothered in cheese, but don't bother with ice-cream, because you can head around the mall for much better quality for a lot less.

Third time should've been a charm.
Went to CapeTown Fishmarket V&A Waterfront - Most unpleasant experience ever.
Tried CapeTown Fishmarket Grandwest - Most expensive Sushi and not the most presentable or freshest.
Received re-heated frozen Sole from CapeTown Fishmarket Tygervalley.
Most recently had the worst Seafood experience to date.
CapeTown FishMarket Century City - Sushi not fresh and poorly prepared, Fishcakes had no fish but stuffed with Fishbones and Old Crab Stuffing. Platter for two was a complete disaster.
Food received ice ice cold after waiting 50min.
They present a menu with two hake fillets but received half a fillet of barracuda
Mussels ice cold, Suchi beyond the sell by date, Fishcakes with no fish inside, 30min for a drink and 50min for any food ordered from the menu.

Cape Town fish market for their Thursday special - usually not a fan as their prices scare me away but I figured why not considering I’m on a recent sushi run.

The decor is very modern and trendy for a fish restaurant. Okay there or the occasional kitschy nods to fish in the literal sense but there are areas that are super mod and make you feel like you are not in a fish shop. I especially like the big open fire pit and the lighting (not the blue glow so much)

Service wise ... uhm, it’s slow. I had to remove the the jumble of special cards, menus and sundry to make space for my arms. Ordered a latte which wasn’t anything great, served far too hot meaning the coffee was burnt and required sugar to make it drinkable.

Sushi was presented well on slate plates. Something different for a change. The salmon was a bit stringy which is a pity as I picked the platters with mostly salmon. The tuna and the prawn used where of a better quality. Overall the flavor combinations were good and different from the expected. Without the Thursday special price I do think it would be placed in the slightly higher price bracket.

Went here for 1/2 price fish and chips on a Monday. It's a special and they know it, but not in the way you'd expect; the beer battered hake was exactly what you'd expect - tasty, a decent portion and extremely succulent but served with less than a handful of chips. The service was good which made for an overall decent experience. Not something I'd pay full price for though.

Been here a couple times. Family-friendly place with a wide menu and friendly service. The last time I visited I had the 'Camps Bay' sushi platter which was good and pretty filling. I would recommend you stick to their seafood and/or sushi dishes because they tend to do those best. I have had their sirloin steak before and it was overcooked. The lamb ribs also had lots of fat on them.
Sinethemba Nkonzombi
Slowest service I've ever received. Like seriously, the restaurant is empty yet everything takes 10 or more minutes...sit down...10mins...waitress strolls by to take drinks order...10mins...drinks delivered...food order...10mins...eat...ask for bill...10mins...get bill....ask for card machine....2mins

My favorite place to have sushi 🍣

I prefer the sushi bar as the service at this location is really bad. Both during busy and quiet periods.
Stephen Howarth
They get a 5 from me due to the fact that we ordered a sushi platter plus a side of additional 4 pieces and when the waiter came with the platter he said he would be back with the rest but when we counted we had more than what was on the platter. The manager came over and advised that due to the confusion with the waiters he would get us four more of the sides we ordered complementary. That is what I call service and taking ownership but I must admit the sushi was very stunning. Will definitely come back with that service.
Sanelisiwe Sani Sibanyoni
The menu is the most inviting thing in the world 😂💔 wow but actually the food is good. Also their service is so warm, we were honestly being pampered😩😭❤️ wow anyway I liked their sushi.

I can always expected to be satisfied here, sushi was fine, wonderful chocolate desert , wide selection of drinks and professional, friendly service.

I haven't been in a while so when a friend suggested we grab a meal at CTFM I thought why not. Their new decor really lightens up the place. I wasn't really feeling a full on seafood meal so I opted for the surf and turf which consisted of calamari and steak. That was served with onion reigns chips and rice. Everything was well cooked and tasty. A friend ordered one of their seafood platters to share. The platter was a bit pricy but definitely worth it, four people could of eaten from it.

Purposely showing the picture on the menu next to what actually comes out as it's pretty extraordinary how different the 2 are.
I really enjoy their sushi but the main menu clearly has some catching up to do.

Was doing some shopping with some siblings, decided to have some lunch at Cape Town fish market. Firstly - the mojito was not good at all, I could have rather ordered a lemonade. I had the beef burger and the patty was slightly red in the middle which I'm not a fan of. It just wasn't satisfying at all. My brother had the surf and turf and he said it was good so perhaps I'll rather have that next time. Atleast the service was helpful and friendly 😊
Thembakazi Sonwabe
Webster was our waiter and we got great service from him. My friend and I went for the Monday special, I ordered the 200g hake (grilled) and my friend got the chicken burger. At first glance my hake looked too small and like it wouldn't be filling but I was very full after eating it. The fries were fresh and not oily, just perfect. My friend and I halved our meals and the chicken burger was a bit on the bland side, although soft and tender. Great decor and ambiance. Great presentation of food but a bit on the bland side. Will be back for the milkshakes!
Tiyaarah Cloete
Cape Town fish market hasn't been great for years unfortunately. I was there earlier this week and the sushi wasn't even as good as I'd remembered. It's so sad bc this used to be one of my favorite places growing up
Marcus Christiansen
Certainly one of the better franchise restaurants in the country. They've done a lot to make the entire experience a little more sophisticated and the food certainly looks more appealing and also tastes better than other seafood franchise restaurants.
Ulisha Moodley
Been here a couple of times. Love their prawn bean curd. Usually also have their chicken teppanyaki with egg fried rice. Sometimes the chicken isn't always done nicely leaving the rice as the tastiest thing but on other times it is done well. Service is okay.
Adrian Kaplan
Stopped by late afternoon for a snack...a couple pieces of sushi off the belt and some milkshakes. Absolutely delicious and fresh. My wife ordered the crispy tuna rolls and salmon and avo california rolls. Very attentive service.
Leonardo Sforza
Had a wonderful meal this afternoon at CTFM. I enjoyed a delightful Mussel Potjie and a friend of mine had a Seared Trout Salad. The food tasted very nice and the waitress was also very friendly, We were welcomed in with a huge smile and the restaurant was clean and fresh.
Kirstie Rose Heynes
We had a quick bite to eat while taking a break from shopping in canal walk. I ordered the calamari main with rice on the side. The rice was served in a pile on a side plate.. sort of like an after thought. My friends had the fish, calamari and fish curry. They were satisfied with their meals. Although service was speedy and the food tasted good, the experience could have been improved. It was on par with the other seafood chain stores.
Simone Hasselbach
My husband often says "you dont order steak at a seafood restaurant". I of course ignore him and order the obligatory "surf and turf". Its great! Portion sizes are perfect. I just love deep fried calamari and calamari tentacles. My husband pulls faces as he cannot stand the sight of seafood. Service is always friendly and they have some great specials during the week including half price on sushi. Go for the sushi specials as they can be a tad bit expensive off the normal menu.

Had a girls night out with dinner and movies. We decided to try CTFM. Great restaurant with lovely decor inside and chilled atmosphere. The chicken burger I ordered was tasty and the portions for the fish, seafood curry and sushi were decent for the price. A pity about the service though, the waiters were not as attentive as they could've been. Most of the time we felt forgotten. Otherwise a lovely restaurant.

What's better than an awesome evening with new friends? One that also entails delicious food at a pretty venue! :D

I never used to like this branch too much, but I see CTFM's changed their menu and upped their game. I ordered the fried calamari and chips, which was flavorful and tasty. Those dining with me also enjoyed their meals, so it was great.

The service was also good with a polite waiter. I will definitely be back :)
Cape Town Foodies
A really pleasant surprise! Lovely bright restaurant overlooking the canals. The starter was Amazing! Seafood plank was huge and the salt and pepper calamari very morish as well as the tempura prawns and fish samoosas, thankfully not spicey. I followed that with a tuna and salmon rose platter, also excellent. Small but good wine list with low and top end wines.
Prajkta
A peak at the gorgeous decor of this restaurant gives you an idea of the experience that awaits. We ordered the teriyaki salmon and sushi as it was on special. The fish was fresh and beautifully cooked. The sushi tasted great although iv seen slightly better presentation elsewhere in the restaurant. I would definitely go back to try their weekday specials as the rest of the menu is on the expensive side. Overall a great new find for me in Canal walk
Carl Thomas
Popped into CTFM at Canal Walk while wife had her hair done. Considering I had a 4 month old baby with me it was to sit on the couch section. I ordered a strawberry milkshake and some sushi. Milkshake was good and sushi was fresh and tasty. We received attention from multiple waitresses but that was probably due to me having the cutest baby ever with me. Service was really excellent.

The restaurant has undergone a facelift and looks really good. Will be returning.

OK so me and my mom went for movies and decided to skip and go get dinner.... biggest mistake ever made, waited 30 min for for a pan fried hake and fish and calamari wen it finely came to the table my fish was swimming in a pool of oil and my mom pan fried hake was battered not pan fried and I think we're probly the only one that ordered food, the manager came and said she will fix it. . So the 2nd order of the same came out after another 30min witch the fish was even worse fish is swimming in liquid + fried in burnt butter blackened almost my hake was
on the point of going off and has been masked with lemon, now I'm a chef myself and we're not complainers but serving that quality of fish in a fish market restaurant is not up to standards, hopefully I'll hear from the owner or gm let's see........ not even talking about the urine smell lingering in the restaurant the smoking section smelled better monique.alberts@momentum.co.za

They have just recently renovated CTFM in Canal Walk and it looks incredible. I'm definitely missing the fish tank but the rest is really stunning, even the tables have been painted in a way that you will never take another bad food photo. The food was good, I had prawns with a salad as a side (my salad leaves had started turning brown) and I ordered a mussels starter which I ate with my mains. Food presentation was incredible. Service was lacking, we had a waiter greet us as we sat he explained he isn't our waiter but he will order our drinks in the mean time. A few minutes later another waiter came to us and asked us what we would like to drink. I explained we ordered with another gentleman and she looked at us and walked off. Then a third arrived with out drinks and took our order. While we eating two other waiters were arguing about customers they were serving. I must admit I was a bit disappointed.

W have been here in the past for the Tuesday special and always enjoyed but on this last visit the sushi was not fresh and dry not a good experience.
Nuzhah Adams
This is my husband and my favourite spot to celebrate milestones in our lives. The atmosphere is romantic and vibrant at the same time. The food is always fresh and delish and the prices are reasonable for an upmarket restuarant.
Ryan Ramage
Great idea to have Prawn Tempura and sirloin steak on a burger. Very tasty. Chips and onion rings were a bit cold but over all a good meal. Only issue is you get 100g of steak.
Jane Price
Have never actually had a decent meal with these guys. Sushi not very fresh and highly overpriced. Would choose a hundred other places before going back here.
Gordon Hicks
Well its definitely gone downhill. Wrong orders, half empty resturant and still wait a life time. My burger was tasteless and had soggy onion rings. Fish around the table was rated ok. Sushi rated very good. Definitely would not recommend this branch. Toilets disgusting and no changing facilities for babies. Manager was accommodating but to a point. Other CTFM had been good.
Helène Kleynhans
We got exactly what we were craving - a big plate of tasty, hearty seafood! We've been to other outlets in the past, but this was our first one in Cape Town and our first time trying the platters. We ordered the Hout Bay platter and we were digging in with our hands so good was it! The service wasn't the best, and the restaurant is inside the mall, so the setting is busy and enclosed. It is not our ideal night out, but the platter was still really good. We had the same platter at another outlet in Melkbosstrand, so I can recommend going to Canal Walk and suffering through the bustle.
Sarita Kerber
The last time I was here the service was horrible we waited a long time for service. The next time we had much better service and thoroughly enjoyed our sushi. A big change from our last experience here.
Kate Gaskin
Almost every Tuesday, my family and I go to CTFM in Canal Walk for their half price special on sushi. It never disappoints! The sushi is amazing, the staff are friendly and they always cater to our every need! Keep up the great work!
Anthea
We went to CTFM on Sunday past. I ordered prawn curry. Was the worst curry ever. The spices were not cooked through and it seemed they had put a whole packet of turmeric in! My husband ate of the curry to take away the taste of the steak he had ordered, cos the steak was just as poor and tasteless. My husband ended up with a YELLOW TONGUE!!! We complained to the manager but nothing was done about it. Very disappointed and will not go there again and will definitely not recommend any of my friends and family to go there.
Chantelle Honiball
Seafood is my ultimate give-inn! This seafood platter I had to share but every single thing on there is so tasty and well prepared I went to the branch at Canal walk, had good service vut Im sure the other branches will have the same quality. My friends dad had the prawn curry the spicea were on point and so so so good Ruan De Greeff .
Louda Connoway
Went on Tuesday for 50% sushi promo. Not usually a fan of CTFM but the sushi was surprisingly very fresh and delicious! Service & wine was very bad; at R30 a glass they can do better than the water downed stuff I got. Overall very nice
René Michelle
Election Day, we went out to celebrate 20years of freedom and what better way than to share in one of South Africa's favorite cuisine....the food was beautiful, fresh and absolutely yummy. The service...eh!
Natalie Soine
CTFM is good, the food is delicious and I love the sushi bar.
Service could be a bit faster, restaurant is a bit too big I think.
Prices are high compared to other places that serve similar types of meals but it's not a place to go to very often.
Definitely a good choice if you are not in a hurry, relaxed atmosphere.
Jenine Ledingham
I went to the Cape Town Fish Market in Hemmingways Mall, East London and it was the worst experience ever. Our waitress took 15 minutes to come to us, our food took 30 minutes to get made and still stayed under the salamander for 5 minutes. The manager walked past our dried up food and went to the bar and sat down with a cup of coffee. Whilst our food was drying out in the pass our waitress was having a fat conversation with the hostess in the front of the restaurant and ignored her two tables that was looking for her. There must of been a total of five full tables seated in the restaurant so its not like it was busy. I really do not recommend that restaurant to anybody!
