I dont say this often but OMG!! The food was Incredible flavour. I had beef stew and Gail had hard chicken. The textures and spices were spot on. Sides for dipping had us drooling. Service was amazing. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is 1. The wine they had on menu that we wanted was not available and 2. Gail ordered off the menu and was then I formed it was not available. If specific foods or wines are not available that should be mentioned when the menus are given so there is no confusion. Loved it and recommend this place.

Delicious, authentic African food in the downtown of Cape Town. The waiters were incredibly nice and lovely, specially Sam. I took mutton tripe and Don Pedro as a dessert.

The food is AMAZING, fresh and order was served in a very reasonable time. Only downside is the energy of the waitrons, we looked abit silly waiting to be attended to as we walked in as the staff seemed to be chatting amongst themselves.

Oh my goodness!!! I can never get over their food. Love the authenticity of the flavours. Really the best place to eat in Cape Town. Everything just flows - the music (a live dj), the food, waiters & waitresses. A place to come explore definitely. Loved the service guys.

Best quality of authentic Xhosa food I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Literally no exaggeration whatsoever, it honestly felt like home cooking, and their braai options are also outstanding, the prices are cheap too! The staff are friendly as well, always down for a little chat! Honestly if you ever get the chance to go, do it there’s no regret. If you catch them at the biscuit mill o suggest you go early by 12 food is almost run out!

We've been looking for a tribe meal for some time, got to Mama Africa and we were told we have to book online, we asked around and were referred to Afrolife and Pitso's kitchen. I must say, the service was awesome! Feeling nostalgic about home and the food or you just want to treat your taste buds on a wave of great flavour? This is the place to visit, the portions are enough to cater for two people. I had the best time here. You can find them at Neighbourhoods on Saturday's as well. The music and food makes you wanna go "yum yum in my tummy tum".

Excellent restaurant with high quality and well priced and (for Cape Town) unusually authentic South African cuisine. We had a medley of tripe, trotters, meat, greens, and starches, along with some very good local wine. Great service and vibe. Highly recommend.

My boyfriend suggested we try the place out and I don't regret agreeing to it.
I had the pork trotters which were pretty close to how my grandma made them (which is a major plus) the whole meal felt so homely. I legit had the itis when I was done lol
Only little qualm I had was the fact that it felt like only one person was waiting like 90% of the tables which made her attention to us a little sparse. Please try seeing to that :)
Otherwise meal delivery was not delayed. T
