Absolutely love Tikkaways. They never disappoint. True value for money. The flavour of the food is just amazing. We love to stop there on a Friday afternoon for our evening dinner.

We went for supper straight after work. Had the Chicken Tikka Masala curry and Durban Chicken curry. We opted for the Naan instead of the rice. Fast and friendly service. Will definitely be back to try the spicier Chicken Vindaloo and Chicken Madras curries as recommended by them.

The food the hospitality everything is simply amazing. The food is always top quality, service with a smile

Good curries. Good prices. Some curries are made fresh, but fast. They have seating. Ample parking. In N1 city value center. Food is served in a silver bowl which is more than enough for 2 people. Add an extra naan or roti, but the rice served with is a lot

We found this little gem and we'll be back. The prices are very reasonable, the food is delicious and it's close to home. Well worth a visit

Amazing place for good curries...of the best I have ever had. A great variety of authentic Indian dishes some with a local twist. They also have a good selection of kids meals. My daughter absoulety live their mango Lasse.the food is reasonably priced. They do takeaway as well as sit down. The restaurant area very clean and the service is fantastic. Staff is very friendly.

Great food. Great taste and generous portions
Caron Farrell
The best Indian food in Cape Town. Just had a lamb bunny which was to die for.

I ordered chicken tikka and roti (called Salome) and the roti was doughy. My son had the chicken kebabs and chips and the chips were almost raw! Very disappointed and I doubt I will give this establishment another chance

One of the few places I've found that do a really decent take-away curry! Great service, fantastic food and friendly (but busy) staff. Been there a few times and will definitely be going back again! Keep up the good work!

Our first time there after friends recommended this eatery and it was delightful! We had chicken tikka curry and garlic naan. Consistency of the curry was great and the naan was light and fluffy! Def worth the visit!

For South Africa, this is a fairly authentic curry house. Dishes were very tasty, service fast and prices reasonable. I would recommend this restaurant for those yearning for Indian cuisine.

We ordered takeaways from your store for third time last night. Had been very impressed before but disappointed last night. Ordered four different curries three if which were "lamb" curries. Also ordered potatoe samoosas. Samoosas had chemical taste...almost like bleach had fallen into mix. As for the lamb... I was convinced its not lamb but beef but being a Hindu restaurant i gather cant be beef but it was VERY stringy which lamb is NOT!! Maybe you should check up on your supplier. Also notice change in bowl size. Moksh seems a better option. Sorry!

I have been supporting your store twice a week since it opened as the food is really good. When I purchased from you last night I noticed that the price and quality was still the same but that the curry portion size has been reduced by half.

Cold customer service. Ordered a chicken curry and boti cubes.. hard potatoes, bland flavour. Naan was soggy and chicken is frozen cooked.. chewy. Theres no way that then owner would know this as he and staff are of indian origin. Im from Durban and this is far from authentic indian cuisine. Its fixable however.. Im sure customers would come back if you'd get the quality up to standard. Looking forward to the change guys.

Awesome Lamb Vindaloo, tasty and extremely hot. Definitely worth going there

My 1st time to visit this outlet. They cater for both take away and sit down. I am always on the lookout for new Indian Curry outlets!

The staff was as friendly as one would expect them to be ...

I ordered lamb vindaloo with rice and naan bread. The lamb vindaloo was really spicy and not for the faint hearted! Althougj spicey the overwhelming taste of the vindaloo was tomato. The Naan bread was not so good ... I have tasted better.

Will definitely go back and will try the Durban Lamb curry next time!

Been buying there for a while now, I've been really disappointed with the Lamb bunny chow as the bread filling of late seems to be taken from halfway through the bread allowing for much less gravy and meat. Very disappointed! The owners seem to be paying less attention to quality.

I have been buying food at Tikkaways for about 2 years and have had very good food from them in the past.In the last six months the quality of the food has steadily declined.Β On Friday purchased butter chicken, Chicken Durban curry and lamb Durban curry.Β Each and every curry was severely watered down, was tasteless and most unpleasant to eat.Β Tikkaways have lost a customer.
Israel
bought a Lamb and Tikka chicken wrap. Lamb had not much of a taste and Tikka chicken, weirdly, tasted like soap water. not great .. Better Indian atΒ Some like it spicy in milnerton. real indian meals.

Prices are very good, naan breads are very nice, portions are big,the different curries all taste the same, except for the butter chicken which is mild but far to sweet, good .value for money
Inshaaf
Great service! Chicken biryani was delicious. Portions are large and reasonably priced. Butter chicken was a bit to sweet for me but still tasty. Loved, loved the Mango lassi and all samosas flavours.

We ordered takeaways from here for the first time the other day - beans bunny, lamb bunny and potato samoosas. The first thing that struck me were the really low prices - R40 for the beans bunny, R55 for the lamb and R3.50 for the samoosas 🀯 The samoosas were big and the filling was delicious. It was a bit oily though and we weren’t given serviettes. The pastry was soft and should’ve been more crispy. The bunnies were really mildly spiced but nonetheless tasty with ample potatoes and gravy. The lamb was also boneless but I’m not sure if that is standard practice. My husband said the beans lacked a bit of seasoning. The carrot salad that accompanied the bunnies had a ton of chilli, possibly to make up for the lack of chilli in the curries πŸ€·πŸ½β€β™€οΈ. The staff are friendly and helpful. We probably will visit again when we’re in the neighbourhood but we won’t go out of our way.

This place is great.
Value for money is exceptional.
I had a chicken madras with a naan and 1 chicken and 1 potato samosa.
If I had to complain about something I would say the samosas could have been crispier but otherwise I was completely satisfied.
I have been searching for a decent local take-away curry place since moving back to South Africa and I think I have found it. I will definitely be back.

Friendly Staff and Fantastictic Chefs!

Wonderful authentic Indian food, freshly prepared and full of flavour.

We ordered take-aways.

Dishes are freshly prepared, quality consistent.

Dhall Tadka, perfectly prepared with fresh curry leaves, not oily like so many other places.

Dhall Makhani, the best in town!

Kadai Paneer, Spicy and Hot, love it.

All the above served with a generous serving of basmati rice.

Best value for money in town, my Fiance and I enjoying our sublime Saturday lunch.

We will be back for more!

Thank you to the owner and staff.

Perfect for take-aways. Tikkaways highly recommended to all curry lovers.

Thought we would try this place for the first time as we were craving a curry. The garlic naan was amazing but I can't say that same for the butter chicken. One can taste it is not made from scratch and the sweetness to it suggests it's from a packet. Don't think I will be back for anything else but a naan bread.
Tatsumi Uota
Most disgusting butter chicken I have ever tasted. Seems as if it came out of a tin. I also ordered Naan bread take away and got a burnt roti instead when I opened it up at home. This is the 2nd time I've had bad food here. They will never see me again!

With a name like Tikkaways, you should be the Kings of......TIKKA CHICKEN. The staple Friday night meal most capetonians go crazy for. But unfortunately the only thing I really enjoyed was the garlic naan. Chicken had good flavor, but was extremely dry. Definitely needs a sauce gents. My suggestion is a final generous basting of sauce while the chicken is laying on the chips, this will elevate the entire dish. nothing better than a piece of chicken, piece of naan, some chips and mop it up with sauce = HEAVEN.Β The chicken tikka wrap was the same, great taste, but lacked sauce. The Lamb Breyani, I must say was superb, so props to them for that! Hope the gents will improve, as we don't really have the luxury of Tikka chicken places in the northern suburbs as the boys in the South do. Cheers!

Quick lunch time meal, had the Tikka chicken, chips and garlic Naan, Naan was the only enjoyable part of the meal, meal was under salt, chicken was dry...all in all, below average meal, however, I still need to try the butter chicken and dhal curry, their signature dishes... So until then hopefully the experience will improve... I had the brejani this week, thought I give it another try, must be one of the worst meals ever...never again

First time at the place and wow loved everything about it ! Very neat spotless actually and very fast service a twist of fresh and spicy that just works so well together wow thumbs up to the management and staff πŸ‘πŸ»

So i had a tandoori chicken wrap and i really loved it it comes with salad and chips but they put it inside the wrap which was really tasty actually and for the price i think it was great .

My husband had a 1/4 chicken which came with a naan and chips and some salad he really enjoyed it aswell which made me even more happy ❀

I really enjoyed the butter chicken and naan bread that I had from here the other day. Chicken was nice and soft and the naan was good also. It is a fast food place but you can also sit down and eat there which is a bonus.

My family and I come here often as the food is reasonably price and the food is AMAZING! The place is well decorated. Once you placed your order the waitress will bring your cutlery and food to you which is a nice touch from having to stand and wait for it as was done previously. Their samoosas and dhal makani are my favourite.
John Muller
I had a lamb vindaloo extra hot as a take away. They adjust the curry to your taste. Β Best curry I have ever had, Very hot, but plenty of spice and taste. Plenty of options for the person that does not like too spicy food.
The price of R 64.95 is very cheap, The portion was more than enough and the curry had plenty meat in it.
Plan to make this a weekly visit.
Darren
I am a lover of Butter chicken , Tikkaways delivered the taste that my craving deserved, Β Lovely little spot, With good service and quick serving times. They are priced are great too
Natalie
Spur of the moment thing with friends who have been raving about this place.
For the price you pay it definitely is a decent curry...
The chicken korma comes recommended and of course... what is Indian without the naan - definitely makes the visit worthwhile
Amy Mcwilliams
I have tikkaways almost every week, it's opening was the answer to my prayers as I work in the area and sometimes struggle with lunch options. I would recommend the butter and Tikka chicken currys to anybody unfortunately the other dishes are nothing to rave about.
Melinda
Little gem referred to us by friends. In the space of a month we have visited this place about 4 times ordering 3 Dishes each time.

Prices have increased over the last 3 months, but food still very affordable and yummy.

Definitely more of a take away menu than sit down.

The vindaloo is very hot, and the butter chicken is consistently amazing!

They have the best chicken samoosas and the staff always have a friendly face

This is my new fave takeaway
They do offer eat it as well but I love enjoying a curry in the comfort of my own home- then I don't care about eating with fingers and occasionally getting slightly messy!
Their prices are insane, when I saw it was less than R50 for a chicken madras with rice and salad I thought there surely has to be a catch???
Well there isn't, the curry is great, the naans are fantastic and they have some nice extra side options too.
I'll be making my way through their entire menu over the course of the next few weeks πŸ˜„

We just happened to see Tikkaways when we wanted to see if food lovers market was open. I had never seen it before so we had a look at the menu and was pleasantly surprised to see the pricing of their food.

So we decided to try their Butter Chicken, Mutton bunny chow and an extra butter naan and wow it was amazing!

When I saw the container I thought the portion was a little small but as soon as you dish it up on a plate you realise how much food you actually get. I can't wait to try their different curries! Definatly my new go to place if you don't feel like cooking :)

I was hesitant to visit this eatery after I read some comments on Facebook (I normally google reviews of new places as I am a self confessed food snob). I popped in on Thursday evening, and went the safe route with a Butter Chicken and rice (included in price) and a Paratha. I can honestly say, it was the BEST butter chicken I have ever had (yes, I have been to Jewel of India, Bukhara etc etc). The paratha was divine!! I went back today to get Chicken Korma, and to my absolute delight it was almost better than the butter chicken!

I am thrilled this little gem opened up in our suburb, as now I can get my weekly fix of authentic Indian cuisine. It is noteworthy that they are extremely well priced. I can honestly recommend this eatery, and if you don't reside in the Northern Duburbs, do take a drive down, it's totally worth it!!

The best Bunny Chow in Cape Town by faaaaar! The prices, portions and taste of their food is fantastic. The setting is clean and trendy. None of that typically watered-down down curry one finds in Cape Town. And PROPER Bombay Crush at an unbeatable price.

The food is delicious, tasty and just plain yum. Tikkaways is VERY clean and their prices are affordable. And they have vegan meals! Love it
