We went to Slug and Lettuce in Long street for a farewell lunch and we had a very good time.Β
I pre-booked for 14 people and provision was made for us to have a cornered off section. The food was nice, vibe was nice. The staff were very helpful and hands on and catered for our every need. Thanks to the friendly staff for the service
I've popped in a few times after work. Excellent Vibe. Great selection of beverages to quench your thirst and the food never seizes to amaze my taste buds. 5/5 would come again.
What a wonderful place!!! My weekly hangout. Brilliant specials and the food is to die for. Tried most of the menu. Nachos ,bitterballen. Chicken strips and wings. Ambience amazing, decor of old books, wall of exposed bricks,an old world feeling that few can mimic and great kind bar persons. Love this place@
One of my favourite pubs in Cape Town. Not only because of its interior but the fact that the burgers are amazing, honestly one of best beef burgers in Cape Town.
The service is excellent. You always feel welcomed. The food quality is good too at a reasonable price.In overall its a wonderful place to just chill out.

Being a chef is a time consuming job. One day whilst walking to work, I take my left turn to try this place. The staff is welcoming and friendly. The atmosphere is quite and volume of music is low. Nice place to have a conversation.
Pretty cool joint. Great atmosphere and service. Music is not too loud which is a plus. Don't have to shout to each other during a conversation. Had their chicken strips and I must say ππ½ππ½ππ½ππ½. The mayo dip is also worth a mention. Owner checked on us a couple of times which was cool as well. Wouldn't mind being back here at all. Worth a hangout spot.
Nearest thing toΒ a UK pub in the area.Can be busy due to relatively small size but this provides for a lively atmosphere.Service always good and barman are friendly.Fair selection of beers and wines.Good place to watch sport with football/rugby live.Food adequate.
This is a great spot. Intimate for good conversations and festive mood throughout. The staff is world class - super friendly and magical with service. Definitely my fav in cbd.
On July 14th I visited Slugs for my colleagues' farewell. This is a great place to hangout. Very neat, Staff was very friendly. I had Meat almighty platter and it was amazing. Really enjoyed Slugs.
A lovely bar in the hustle and bustle of Long Street, the barmen are awesome, service is great and the new owner makes you feel welcome and at home. Food is good too :)
Small and intimate pub , feels like you are somewhere in the UK once you are inside, can get super packed. But a great venue for after work drinks or if you in the mood for something different. Good selection of beers too.
Both the beer and burgers are always lekker, no matter the time and day you visit. I like that the setup is a bit more cosy and intimate than the other branches. The decor adds so much character as well.
Decent place for post work beers. Intimate, but will serve its purpose. Prices are very reasonable as well, and staff are nice and friendly :)

Show me a man who doesn't like a good steak and I'll tell you straight, he hasn't had a good one.
My partner and I ended up at Slug&Lettuce on a whim, in search of some steak. We were greeted by the friendly waiter and immediately drawn in by the relaxed atmosphere and decor. The playlist was also a nice addition. We were also given the WiFi password once we started down. Everyone loves free WiFi!
We knew what we went there for and immediately ordered our steaks. Mine medium to well and my partner ordered hers medium. A test of a true steak it would seem. We got some red wine to go with it (Place in the sun) which was very delicious on and had us buzzing. Sadly our glasses arrived dirty, slight dissapointment, but that was quickly rectified.
Steak and sides arrived in record time. And simply put - it was delicious! Grilled to the perfect temperature. The sides were large amounts and more than enough to share. The waiter, Wally, checked in regularly which was a nice touch.
All in all everything was spot on. Just bummed we didnt get sweets with the bill.
This is a perfect place to take dad for a relaxed afternoon or the family for dinner. I've heard the one in Newlands is just as great. We'll definitely give that a try next time.
I was at Slugs & Lettuce for the first time with a few friends, and what we received was not what we were expecting. The food is amazing and its portions are large, the staff was super friendly and made sure that we were having a great time. Good value for money and drinks are so cheap. The karaoke was the highlight of our evening, we love doing things like that, the entire long street was stopping and starring. We will be giving this place another visit with a bigger group of peoples! :) Thank you Team!
The bar is small but has a great vibe. If has lots of quirky memorabilia inside. Friendly staff and delicious food. It's mostly pub grub burgers and platters but worth trying. And it has screens which play soccer matches. I highly recommend it.

Great place, small and intimate to escape the rowdiness of Long street. Fries are to die for and their beef burger is hella nice.

We had the Chicken Schnitzel which was absolutely divine! The service was a bit slow seeing as there was only 1 barman that acted as the waiter as well, but we have no complaints when it comes to the type of service received.
The food was amazing, the owners were supper friendly. Definitely the place to go if you love good food and friendly people and the best drinks with the value for prices.

It was a nice experience, nice and cozy pub. The staff are friendly and open. The food was very delicious; we had chicken schnitzels for lunch.
Very friendly staff and regulars. Indoor smoking, which can be a con for some people. But has the feel of a real local pub, even though it's part of a chain of fake Irish pubs in Cape Town's club and bar district.
Happy friendly service, and good luck with the slots for the better half. Cold beer, the place needed a clean hence the loss of a star

The Slug is the best place to just chill out, theres Cherokee and excellent service! The food is on another level, absolutely loved it and will tell anybody about it
Cosy little place for an intimate setting with a decent selection of snacks and drinks. Perfect for sundowners for a small group.
