Amazing sushi, in a bit of a dive. Have the Chef's special (basically the same as Willoughby's Rockshrimp tempura calfornia rolls but half the price).

Walking into the restaurant I expected bad food and worse service and we almost turned around and walked away. The ambiance is not exactly 5 star dining and we even made fun of their slogan " Best Thai food and Sushi Bar", saying it was probably the best Thai food on this side of Long Street. Boy were we all surprised when the food arrived. Presentation was good but the taste was out of this world. A fantastic spin on Thai cuisine and probably the best I've had. Service was also great with friendly staff and no long waits to get our food. I'm actually glad the restaurant setting was not 5 star since that makes the prices quite affordable. I highly recommend!

This was our our 1st night in Cape Town, SA we came to long street and found this restaurant. We were welcomed greatly. We ordered Red curry. Dish, spring rolls, stir fried fish. Wow Great test and fantastic service. I will recommend any time. Will always come back.

Great place. My second dinner in a few days while I'm in Cape Town for an extended weekend after two work weeks in Joburg Nice food, a lot in the plate for a very decent price and nice service.

Definitely my top of the list sushi spots. Looks abit dingy && not very appealing on the eye. But there sushi definitely makes up for that.

Ordered a take away sushi platter from this restaurant and was quite surprised to find cricket legs squished around my salmon roses and found the body of the bug next to another piece of my sushi. Will definitely not eat from this restaurant again.

Best value asain in Cape town. Very wide variety, at outstanding prices. The sushi is definitely above average,I recommend the bamboo handrolls and the deep fried California rolls. The dim sum is pleasant, and the duck pancakes a must have. Atmosphere and decor not the best, but the food and friendly service more then makes up for it.

Phad Thai is quite a dark dingy little restaurant at the bottom of Long Street, and it has a typical mismatched Asian restaurant vibe when you enter. Looks aside, we came here for a very highly recommended Phad Thai dish from a Capetonian friend. I'm glad we did, because the Chicken Phad Thai we ordered was delicious. Just the right sweet and salty flavour with tender noodles and peanutty goodness. Plus the portion was ginormous, enough to share between two. I also had the Coconut Chicken soup which had quite a nice flavour and an extreme spicy kick. We ordered the Siu Ma dumplings which were a bit dry and quite average. I would definitely recommend coming here for the Phad Thai and the affordability. The ambience might not be there but the food and company we had made up for that.

We made an impromptu stop here, after many of the surrounding restaurants were full for first Thursday last night. They happened to have a half price sushi special happening so we took advantage of that. I ordered a portion of tempura prawn rolls, salmon roses and salmon sashimi. Dario ordered two portions of tempura prawn and two portions of salmon roses. Unfortunately, only one portion of his roses arrived, and on top of that, the ratio of salmon to rice is poor. The sliver of salmon we received in our roses and my sashimi was poor. I think I would have been more disappointed if we had paid full price. The service was friendly and efficient but the sushi was a let down.

Menu needs a bit of improving or innovation rather & interiors on a serious level. The customer service is good and the staff generally friendly. Very centrally located, they can make a great place with improving the top 2 things.

What a great night, and the food was good too. Phad Thai is a little restaurant at the bottom of long street and personally, I feel like it is the perfect place to go on a dinner date. It has a nice and cosy atmosphere with it's romantic dim lighting. The staff was amazing, very friendly and incredibly efficient without being overly attentive. Our food came out incredibly quickly and was awesomely scrumptious, but not the best sushi I've ever had. The dumplings were okay (didn't really like the dough but the chicken was yummy) and the Won Ton's were also tasty. All in all, I had a really pleasant evening and I'd recommend bringing your date here one night.

I was having a night in and thought I'd try somethings new. Ordered the tom yum soup, the angry prawn and the garlic fried rice. The portion were large and could of been sufficient for three people, the flavors however fell flat. The tom yum soup lacked the cold curing spice I expect from a tom yum. The prawns were over cooked in both dishes and the angry prawn lacked the heat that was promised. I am very disappointed when Thai food doesn't deliver in flavor because the basis of all Thai food is the aromatic that should just explode in you mouth

I've only had good service and great sushi here. Perfect for a quick bite with friends after work. Don't expect a 5 star establishment but don't judge the book by its cover. Great value for money as well. I'm always back!

If you've ever been to Thailand.. you know what Phad Thai tastes like, this is as close to it as you going to get.. and the best value for money around :) R65 for enough to feed a family of 4.. my first thought when I feel like a Thai dish 😆

Unassuming venue but has probably some of the finest Sushi in Cape Town. And at such a reasonable price, it's almost criminal. Definitely one of cape town's best kept secrets.

Quick and convenient but won't go back Food wasn't the freshest I have tasted - pity because the location is great for a lunch dash. We both had the Phad Thai - I had the prawn one - the prawns were an afterthought - sitting on top of mass made noodles. Service was excellent - and of course Kareoke TV screens are always a scream 😂

My wife and I went there on a rainy Cape Town evening. The venue is cosy and not very big (it looks like it could hold about 50 people). We were the 2nd couple there. The waitron was attentive and friendly and we ordered the 24 piece platter to share. The food was hit and miss. Bad news first: The deep fried wontons and the crispy california rolls weren't crispy. They seem like they were made, frozen and reheated (hence the slight "chewy-ness"). The chicken in the dumplings seemed to have been boiled and was bland. Good news: The salmon roses and fashion sandwiches were fine and the mushroom tempura rolls were delicious. This place isn't bad if you want somewhere to stop off for a snack, but, owing to the better quality options available, I doubt that we will be back.

Tried the lunchtime special. The sushi was average and the Thai green curry was disappointing. The ingredients were fresh, but the texture was reminiscent of congealed soup, perhaps as a result of a thickening agent or packet based spice mix. Because the meal is cheaper at lunch it's bearable but not recommendable, and definitely not worth it outside of the special. They do however have crispy duck which I might be tempted to try one day.

Absolutely love coming here for sushi. Not the fanciest place but they have excellent prices, an interesting sushi selection and friendly staff. Excited to see they added dim sum to the menu.

Office is in the middle of the dining area. No outside seating and no aircon means the dining area is hot. Old outdated decor, Staff and Management arguing in the middle of the restaurant. I had the chicken Phad Thai, could've been better. Soggy noodles all gelatinous. Not great.

Best sushi I've had in Cape Town so far! Everything was perfect, the wait staff friendly and it helped that it was a beautiful night for sitting outside. Definitely making this my regular. Plus they often tend to play some classic 90s tunes, got to love some Britney and NSync as you're tucking in!

This was THE WORST food I have eaten in recent memory. I ordered the Beef Phad Thai, you'd imagine that a place called Phad Thai would make a good one, they don't. It tasted as though something in the mix had long gone bad. The noodles looked like they had been cooked and then frozen. My girlfriend had (or rather did not have) the Stir fried cashew nuts (Phad Mad Ma Mung) we counted 2 cashew nuts in an over salted tiny bowl of veggies. PS. We ordered from Mr D and it arrived hot.

The food wasn't that good... and then they stole the information from my credit card along with the credit card information from my two other friends that I went there with to try and buy 8,000 rands worth of food to supply themselves with. So I would not recommend going here.
