Had an amazing burger with mushroom sauce. Has an unexpected quiet open air spot at the back if you're looking for your own space, alternatively there's a spacious pub and seating area inside. Staff are friendly and efficient. Overall a great experience!

Very nice, small cafe vibe. Drinks are affordable as well as the food. The chips they sell can rival the best out there. If you are sitting outside while the sun is still high it can be very hot even under the umbrellas so find a space inside.

We popped in for a quick bite and drink. Service was prompt, efficient and friendly. The snack basket for one was tasty and more than enough for both of us. Stella Artois and Chardonnay was deliciously ice cold.

Best pub in Wynberg. Staff exceptional. Food and service incredible. Atmosphere old worldy, but that's what I like. Place to meet old friends and new ones. Recommended. Please go and experience.

Nice welcoming English style pub in the centre of charming Chelsea village. Old cottage renovated complete with a sunny courtyard. Well maintained and clean. Snack baskets are great, although they do lack a selection of craft beers.

Our local...Fantastic service always! Fried food a bit on the old oil side but when drinking etc not bad. An older crowd but still fun and not pretentious for the area.

I have been coming to this Caffè for more than 12 years and consider it my second home. Such a cosy place in winter as they light up the fireplace and have a decent size "stoep" for sitting in the summer having a nice cold one. I can't fault this place however because it is situated in a residential area, it closes at 12. Perfect for rugby matches or any sport actually. Come in, have a drink and just enjoy warm and cosy atmosphere it creates.

Although I'm usually popping in for weekly quiz evenings, Verdi is a great hideaway in Wynberg's old town. There's an array of beers on tap and on bottle. While the pizza menu is pretty lengthy too. Not home to incredible food, but it's definitely worth a look if you're in the area.

A hidden gem of a pub right next to Maynardville in Wynberg. Food is good and service is okay. I'm rating this venue strictly based on its pub status. It has a local element that may not let you always feel welcome but nevertheless the food is good and the beers are cold. It's a good old fashioned pub and there are not many of these around nowadays.

Caffe Verdi has a typical local pub feel to it. It’s warm and cozy, packed with locals (young and old) and they serve up good and tasty food. Go here on a Saturday to watch a game, order burgers/nachos/pizzas… and wash it down with a draught beer or 3. We have always had nothing but good service and food. We actually don’t visit them nearly as often as we would like to. Their location is also lovely, I love Chelsea Village.

Cafe Verde is the perfect village pub in the perfect Chelsea village. The food is solid, generous pub fare. I recommend their pizzas which are a convenient take away too. Rugby nights fill up quickly creating a festive atmosphere. The one thing I don't enjoy about verde is the troop of old, divorced men that permanently frequent the pub. Making my way through a busy crowd to the bar or loo, I gave had my bum pinched on several occasions. Girls entering the pub alone get indiscreetly gawked at which is never pleasant. Bar staff and waiters on the other hand are lovely.
