Review I Love My Laundry - Cape Town Central

Amazing service!! Listened to my worries, paid attention to fragile sensitive clothing pieces and I’m happy to say they returned my clothes so beautifully folded, fresh and clean! 🥰 You can whatsapp them at this number +27 74 992 1481 you don’t neet to call it’s so easy to chat to them. Fast replies, invoices texted to you. In order to get SAME DAY service for FREE all you have to do is give your laundry before 10am which is so much better than other companies I’ve used before. The roundtrip delivery was only R60. Softener R30 and the laundry is R130 per every 5kg. Super affordable and high quality laundry services that I will be using weekly now. Thanks Alex and the kind team :)

It's been a very good, relaxed experience dealing with I Love My Laundry. Always very quick to respond in WhatsApp, very informative, and never had fault with the cleanliness or service. Used twice during my stay, excellent service each time. Would definitely use again and recommend 👌

The guy answering the WhatsApp business account is an asset to this company. Efficient, understanding and patient. Well done to you kind sir. This was my second time using this companies service, and all I can say is I will never use any other laundry service for as long as Im still in the area. You guys do an amazing job. Also a special mention for the driver who collects and delivers the laundry, Kenneth, keep on with the good and friendly manner that you have. Your smile made my day alot brighter! Thank you to the awesome people who actually do the washing and folding of the items given in. Everything is perfect. I ❤️ "I ❤️ my laundry"!!!

I am very impressed with I ♥ my laundry in Buitekant Street , Cape Town! Their services is super, fast and professional. Never I need to worry that the washing is not correctly done. Their pick-up and drop-off service is seamless. Keep up the good work and effort. Well done! 🌺 Seroya

I used “I LOVE MY LAUNDRY” for three weeks while visiting Cape Town. I am extremely impressed with the service I received from the team. They were very responsive and my laundry was done within a day every time. I would highly recommend their service!

Needed some clothing quickly washed and folded, I Love My Laundry came through for me. A+ I received everything back in perfect condition. Thanks
Evan Baars
Excellent - been using the service for over a year and everything works smoothly. Quick turnaround time, clothes are treated well, etc. I don't even own a washing machine or iron in Cape Town - just use this service as it's perfect.
Zoereena Matthews
I regularly use the pick and drop service and I am super impressed with the service. My laundry is cleaned well and smells great. The lady driver who usually collects my laundry is such a gem. Would recommend this service to anyone who enjoys the convenience of their laundry being cleaned professionally.
Joel Godfrey
Fantastic service. Laundry was collected and delivered back to our hotel with no fuss at all, communication was great and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommended.
Coert Grobbelaar
Recently switched to this service for laundry via collection/delivery, and I've been very happy. Collection and delivery is arranged over WhatsApp with a person. They are flexible and communicate well. The fact that I can usually get back my laundry on the same day is great too.

Love the idea of this place , i’ve only used this place once, I really appreciated the SMS notification. It seems they may not have separated my whites as they don’t look as sparkly as they used to. Great business idea, great Customer service.
Claire Rodgers
The best laundry service we’ve used in Cape Town! Super fast and efficient, has an easy pick up and delivery system, and not badly priced either. Highly highly recommended!
Arlin Bantam
Delightful staff, affordable rates, and the pick-up/delivery service runs to schedule every time. Highly recommend! Has been such a lifesaver.

I've been with the ILML franchise for 3 years now and they just understand their way through customer service. I wouldn't recommend any other laundry business for your personal needs. They are fantastic!
Tanya Olivier
Very professional service , would have liked my laundry a bit softer as they felt rather hard and my jerseys were not fluffy . Otherwise not bad at all.
Cloe Gentz
This is the coolest concept in a wet winter city! Professional, reliable, efficient, and oh so convenient. I♥️Laundry for the win!! Also, Schalk & Juanita are the sweetest people ever!
Gerhard Stewart
They were good the first time and gave me free hangers. The second time my washing basket was missing. Their service was good and on time. Clothes always back clean and in good condition.

I love my Laundry on Buitenkant Street was a home from home for 3 english girls trying to find their way in Cape Town. Fiona and her entire staff and family were so warm and friendly and always willing to let us rant on about our days. We visited mostly every day for our morning/lunch/evening cuppa and loved their wine tasting nights and fashion exhibitions. We also loved all the quirky artwork and oh my god the baking....and the ice cream!!! We couldn't get enough of this place and found a real friend in Fiona. Thank you for making our trip so special.

LOVE this place! such a cool concept to have a snack or cuppa while my laundry is done. Great service and such friendly professional people!
Moekie Manthe
Absolutely stunning concept. Amazing shop with interesting goodies and delicious dim sums and of course coffee... Service is excellent. I am proud to be hanging my paintings up on your walls Fiona. Wine tasting on Wednesday evenings lovely.

A must visit! You'll feel right at home here. Loving the new Bree Street branch

How can I give zero stars? Awful service from the Buitengracht branch - took three days get laundry back, that stank of damp, and I had several items lost or stolen. Seriously, avoid these guys at all costs.
Jani Verster
They burn your clothes, then blame it on you. Don't go there.

We specifically went to I love my laundry for their pork buns and dim sum. We were very disappointed customers as they were no longer serving pork buns and the dim sum was dry and lacked flavour. But we do love the quirkiness of it all, and a good stop after lounging around at the book lounge.
Alexi
Honestly, did these guys pay people to get a good rating? Honestly, they're the second-worst dumplings I've ever eaten in my entire life. They should stick to laundry and forget the dim-sum. Service was friendly though - but the food is completely inexcusable.

Terrible experience. Not at all for ppl that enjoy food. As this place only moonlights as a restaurant but is actually a proper laundry service. The lady sitting up front when we arrived could not have been the least bit interested in us. It's actually seemed as though we were wasting her time with a very unapologetic attitude. Food was uncooked. The sauces were mostly finished and it didn't look lik they were interested in replacing them. The washrooms and toilets were not very cleanly. I can imagine what they probably were going for here, and how this could have potentially turned out amazing. It's unfortunately not the reality here.

Went to I Love My Laundry for breakfast this morning. We ordered the kimchi, chicken and mushroom and the pork and cabbage dumplings. The service was okay. The restaurant/ laundry was quirky and uniquely different (which I loved). My lattè was good and hubby enjoyed his chai lattè. We enjoyed the sweet and sour and the mango dipping sauce the most.

I love My Laundry, what a place. My friend's sister owns the place so I'll try not to be biased in my review. I've had dim sum before and I really enjoyed it. ILML has a dim sum special. I ordered chicken and mushroom and pork and chives flavoured dim sum. It took about 15 minutes. It was amazing. I really enjoyed it, I loved how full I got after it. It wasn't a carby, sluggish full. It was my first time at the laundry and I found it very cool that a laundry served different types of hot beverages, other cold refreshments and food. It's very different and unlike anything I have seen before. The decor is also very nice and the shop sells very cute laundry bags, necklaces and bags. The prices for the laundry services are also very reasonable and "cheap" according to my Uber driver who dropped me there. I wish I could find a place like this in Johannesburg.
Sara
We ordered a takeaway mixed dim sum platter of the tofu and mushroom dim sum. The tofu one was absolutely delicious and I'm not even a tofu fan! Definitely keen to come back and actually sit down and order a larger variety.

Probably one of the most authentic dumplings I've had in Cape Town. And those BBQ Pork Buns... life changing! Love the variety of dipping sauces provided on the table as well.

After reading reviews by Capetowngirlabout dim sum I figured the time was right to give it a go. Firstly one doesn't usually recommend a laundromat for good food but this is Cape Town - why not ! <br/><br/>I ordered the mixed dimsum, pork and cabbage and chicken and mushroom and the BBQ pork buns for good measure because why not. While I waiting for them to be prepared fresh I couldn't help but admire the quirky place. Firstly it smells lovely and clean like stay soft and looking around there are also so many little things buy and browse through from gifts to art to general decor items with a twist. Doing laundry has never been this much fun. <br/><br/>My latte was excellent. The micro foam was perfect and the blend of coffee used was very tasty. I'm in love with the cement table ! It's beautiful- I want one as a kitchen top. I'm also a big fan of the high gloss red plates, very striking against the textures of cement. Also this is one of the only<br/>places that I've seen proudly display the zomato advert. I would like to see more of this around town. Not just the sticker on the bottom of the window. <br/><br/>Onto the why I'm here ... dem dim sum. YUM - I loved all of it. That's all I have to say. Individually they are great but adding the mango dipping sauce just makes the flavors pop. If you are not a mango fan there are at least 4 other dipping sauces to choose from. <br/><br/>Come bring some washing over or don't just come and try out their amazing food. This is the reason why small menus work - you perfect and serve the things you are a 100% certain you can deliver on time and time again. I'll be back ... with my duvet... then curtains.... maybe a blind ... or a carpet or two.

This little place was a great surprise and delicious surprise. Had a great salad and tea and cake. Not a easy find. I was pleasantly surprised to find it on the very edge of town where I usually won't dare to go. Please go there and enjoy and by the way take a bag of laundry while you wait it will be done then sink your teeth into their simply decadent menu! It won't dent your pocket even though you expect it to.

Such a cool place for dim sums. Loved the setting! We went here for lunch and also for  evening snack :D. It was that good. Excellent quality and the portions are really good for the price.

Excellent dim sum here. Dim sum that rivals South China Dim Sum bar for taste! And most definitely wins on value. I like that it's such a previously unknown to me mix of laundry and food. Eat while you wait? So good that I am going there again. Today. For dinner.
Food Ninja
Small selection of dimsum but great quality. They ran out of steam buns so this was disappointing as we were so looking forward to the buns. We ordered the 5piece portions @R30 - all were delicious- Pork and carrot, pork, tofu, leek, wild mushroom and ginger (ginger a bit overpowering). The dimsum skins were thin and light. Friendly waitress.
Nicole
The most divine little spot. Found it and was instantly attracted to it by it's quirky name. The dim sum is really delicious, the pork and cabbage one is a real winner. The staff are lovely, the establishment is decorated with the most delightful colours and nik naks and is nice and open. Try get a few mixed baskets so you can try a combination of flavours, but all in all, certainly worth a quick stop in.

Popped in for quick dinner before drinks and a show at the Fugard. The dim sum is delicious. I also tried the pulled pork buns- a bit doughy for me but the filling was fabulous. Quirky cards and stuff on sale as well.

I used to work just around the corner from here. It was always great to pop in for a good cup of coffee. The coffee is really good and you are always met with friendly service. There are also loads of cute things to buy inside!

There is nothing wrong with this place but I just felt not taking laundry and just drinking wine felt weird. Also making small talk like: "Do you like clean socks?" <br/>Gets people to move to other tables.<br/>Take laundry.
Tabassum Smiley Aleem
I didnt actually do my laundry which i think is a great concept but a friend and i popped in for Dimsum that everyone seems to be talking about. It really is that good. Really good coffee too.

If you looking for a reliable and sufficent place to drop off your laundry- this is your place. Cute little interior with orange walls and the smell of clean laundry 😀 They sell the amazing Uber Rooibos flavoured ice tea- my personal fave is the Rooibos honey and lemon flavour. I've only ever seen the Uber ice tea at Giovannis deli in seapoint so was ecstatic when 'I love my laundry' started selling it. Their dim sum is also lovely! Service is great.

For those of you who are sceptic about dim sum sold in a laundromat I urge you to try I love my laundry. When entering this quirky establishment the clever lighting and decorative arts and craft provides a warm and inviting atmosphere. <br/>Although I do not drink my fellow Zomato users who attended the meetup enjoyed the wine they were served. The restaurant stocked a variety of different wines as well as freshly brewed coffee, water etc. but I'm sure everyone that attended the dinner would agree that the dim sum was the star of the evening.<br/>I do not eat pork so I was not able to try the pork and chive dim sum and the bbq pork bun but the chicken and mushroom, mushroom and ginger and lastly the kimchi dim sum was spectacular. The flavour of each ingredient was identifiable but still worked really well together. The dim sum wrappers were delicately thin almost translucent and the texture of the filling was perfect. Although the I thoroughly enjoyed all the dim sum, for me the star of the night was the mushroom and ginger option. I loved the heat that the ginger added.<br/>They provided us with five sauces to accompany the dim sum, all of which paired perfectly with the dim sum flavour. My favourite sauce though was the mange which packed a real punch. <br/>To end the night we had ice cream, I chose chocolate because I'm not a big vanilla fan. I thoroughly enjoyed the chocolate ice cream which had the perfect balance of sweet and bitter flavours. When tasting the vanilla I was blown over, it was the best vanilla ice cream I have had EVER. <br/>I have definitely found a new place for my dim sum fix and I urge my fellow dim sum lovers to give I love my laundry a try and those of you who aren't dim sum fans give it a go as well you won't be disappointed with the flavours.

I enjoyed some great dim sum in this cute little restaurant. The dumplings were soft and delicious with yummy fillings. We really enjoyed the chicken steamed buns.

A midweek Zomato meetup took place at this vibey laundromat that boasts brilliant coffee, refreshments, dim sum, sweet treats and a selection of gifty goodies. The concept hails from San Francisco and introduces an interesting and eclectic combo of food & laundry service.<br/><br/>We were warmly welcomed by our hosts; offered wine or softdrinks (thank you very much Anura Arpeggio) and presented with a steaming array of the most deliciously delicate dim sum - by far the best I've ever tasted. What makes it a winner is the thinness of the dumpling, almost translucent in its elegance. Topping the list were pork & chive and ginger mushroom. The traditional cha siu bao was also very tasty. So light & pillowy - they literally melted in my mouth. 6 complimentary dipping sauces were provided - my favourite being the mango sauce.<br/><br/>As a sweet after treat we enjoyed homemade chocolate and vanilla icecream by Sorbetiere. The vanilla was excellent!<br/><br/>"Touch my heart" you absolutely did!<br/><br/>Capetowngirl Lauren Kim Bernadine Sharese Hunt Glen Hunt Iman Bawa

Interesting...Unique....Different! 3 Words to describe this quirky little establishment. It is a laundromat in essence but offers art exhibitions, dim sums, coffee and everything in between. <br/><br/>Bold splashes of orange, creative art displays by local designers and crafters, a single cement dining table - this is anything but an ordinary laundromat. <br/><br/>With or without a laundry basket it is worthwhile popping in for their freshly steamed dim sums. They have delicious meat options such as pork and chives, chicken and mushroom. My favourite by far is the BBQ pork buns. They also have vegetarians options such as kimchi, tofu and wild mushroom. The pastry is silky smooth and the fillings are generous. <br/><br/>I Love My Laundry is the place to drop off your basket, sip on a cafe con leche or a glass of vino and have a little treat while you’re at it!

A laundry that makes amazing dim sum. It's a crazy idea along those lines of going to the mechanic, getting your car serviced while eating Italian. <br/><br/>I Love My Laundry is a unique experience where you can leave your laundry and have a plate of pot stickers or BBQ Pork Buns. <br/><br/>We had an opportunity to visit this establishment for a foodie meetup and enjoyed the experience. Now I have a guilty pleasure, some like chocolate, some like wine, I love dim sum. I love the flavors. I love the tiny mouthful of steamed goodness. The dim sum was properly home made and full of flavor. It's simple but awesomely good. <br/><br/>The staff was very friendly and chilled with nothing to complain about. <br/><br/>This is a fantastic place for a drop and a quick bite. <br/><br/>

What a treat of a place. We were invited by Zomato to this spot along with JotterJo Glen Hunt Capetowngirl I had walked past this place and was unaware of what they offered. They offer a laundry service, coffee and the most amazing and awe inspiring dim sums and wine. The ginger and wild mushroom is so delicate and tasty. The Kimchi dim...

Interesting little place this. Offering a full laundry service and some very good Dim Sum at affordable prices. The menu is small which make it easy to decide what you want. I Ordered the pork and coriander dim sum and an Uber Ice tea. The food and service was top quality. Perfect spot to check emails while munching on dim sum

Absolutely my favourite place :)<br/>Love the atmosphere and the interesting bits and bobs that are used as decorations but also for sale.<br/>Best dim sum that I have ever had - that day there was also pork buns on the menu and it was so delicious! <br/>Also like the way they serve the dim sum with big spoons to pour in a variety of sauces to go with it - if you want. <br/>A must try!

I Love My Laundry is the perfect spot if you needing to do your weeks washing and want to fulfill your caffeine fix. Friendly staff and great service. The place is beautifully decorated with a very urban/skater sheek vibe. Love it. I really need to come back to try out the dim sum it's apparently really good. 😉

Firstly, you need to know that the dim sum here rivals that of most Asian restaurants in Cape Town. We tried every kind on the menu, and I couldn't pick a favourite - all were delicious, and decently priced too. Paired with d'Aria Blush wine, you're in for a lovely few hours while you wait for your pyjamas to be washed and fluffed. This branch in particular offers excellent service, pretty trinkets for sale and a fun vibe - I would literally come here for a meal, without any laundry to wash. That being said, the only thing better than rolling home with a tummy full of dim sum is being able to crawl into your clean pyjamas when you get there.

I Love My Laundry ALWAYS has delicious food, good wine and lovely staff! The art is also nice to look at while you wait for the incredible dim sum! This is an awesome place for a good meal and a good chat! :)

A place where you can hand over your laundry in the expert care of a team who ensures your clothes are washed according to your instructions. Neatly packed and wrapped for you to collect within a day or so. Plus it also has the added services of being a coffee shop where you can enjoy a lovely selection of teas (lemon, Earl grey, rooibos to name a few), coffee, iced teas and wine. If you're feeling peckish as I often do, then you'd be delighted to know they also serve dim sum. Being of Chinese origin I grew up with a lot of Chinese food, so I'm quite picky when it comes to Asian cuisine. To say that I like the dim sum from I love my Laundry is an understatement! Try their really nice combinations (pork and cabbage, pork and chives etc) and the different accompanying sauces (I've grown quite fond of the mango one!). For dessert let yourself be tempted by artisan cakes, such as carrot cakes or have a giant cookie - they usually are on the huge table so you can't miss that! Besides this, it's a great place to work or hold a meeting and you're sure to meet people too as the table is so big you'll share with others and often it's easy to smile and start a conversation with your fellow neighbour. I also enjoy the quirky vibe there with all the artworks and creative stationary, beautiful paintings and other bits and pieces from creative minds that you can buy to gift or take home to cherish. <br/>They also host events - check out their schedule for more details. Wine evenings etc... <br/>Go for: friendly attentive service for laundry and eating/socialising, working remotely.

I don't love laundry, but I do love I Love my Laundry and their insanely good dim sum!  It isn't often that I actually make a mission for a dim sum meal, but when I do, this is my go-to spot and for good reason.<br/><br/>Established in 2012, I Love my Laundry offers a quirky space where you can not only drop off your dirty goods, but sit back and enjoy a good cup of coffee or wine - depending on how festive you feel - and munch on a couple plates of dim sum. <br/><br/>They offer a good range of different fillings (all of which are amazing) but I am particularly fond of the kimchi, wild mushroom, and chicken & chives options.  Another favourite are the BBQ pork steamed buns - delicious pillows of goodness! <br/><br/>But one of the things I love most about this place, apart from the dim sum of course, is the beautiful art that surrounds you.  Every time I step inside one of the stores, I find myself staring at practically every item on display and wishing I had more money in the bank to buy everything! <br/><br/>The stores are run by the most wonderful people, all of whom are friendly and attentive.  So if dim sum is your thing, then I can't recommend a better place - beautiful art, amazing service, and delicious food/drink, what more could you ask for?

I LOVE I love my Laundry. Firstly because a place like this exists- where you can take your washing and get dim sum, wine and coffee all in one. I mean.. What's not to love. <br/><br/>I've been taking my laundry there for ages, but for some reason haven't ever stopped for dim sum until we had a Foodie Meetup there. And now, well now I'm hooked and I just want dim sum every day. They have a vast selection of fillings, which is both exciting and problematic if you're indecisive (like me). Honestly probably the best value for money dim sum that doesn't sacrifice the quality or the taste to make it happen. R45 gets you and 8 piece portion of dim summy heaven. <br/><br/>The Buitenkant street branch is my fave, and that's not just because it's practically on my doorstep. They have a first class selection of wine, which is only going to be getting better according to a little birdie. Gimme some of that dim sum any day - or every day - wine not 😉 (so many puns and weird wordy things happening there I'm not too sure if they all work, but the dim sum DEFINITELY does) Jenny Sarah Coulson Jenna Manthé Chad Michael Henson Ricki Allemann Kyle Kapital Garth Manthé Cameron Manthe Nicholas Mavridis Jess Lennon Jani Schnehage Broghan Ross

I Love My Laundry has taken what is normally a tedious and boring job of doing laundry and transformed it into a tasty social event where you can enjoy a variety of dim sum, wine, and other treats while your laundry gets done.. Their prices are great (both the food and the laundry) and well worth every penny. I had a great evening and will definitely be going back soon 😊

Awesome little place, don't be fooled by the size of the place and such a awesome concept. You can have dim sum while you do your laundry, we had dim sum and it had burst of flavour, for desserts we had chocolate brownies and although I am not a sweet tooth person it was delish.

Love this place! Even had my birthday party here ;) Conveniently placed below my apartment for all the coffee, wine and dim sum my heart desires. And it's yummy!

Fiona and her staff have always welcomed me into their space in a way only someone from the friendly Eastern Cape can! Always feel super comfortable, and it doesn't hurt that they have great coffee, wine, aaaand dim sum. There's also always cool artworks and jewellery and other fun things to look at and buy!

Amazing dim sum at the most reasonable prices! R45 for 8 pieces with plenty of delicious options to choose from! They even do bbq pork buns which are impossibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth! Definitely coming back soon!
