Great food, exceptional atmosphere and you're served by genuinely happy people. If you're vegan this spot is idyllic!

Awesome menu & food but Location & interior designing needs major improvement.

Never again..!! EXTREMELY RUDE Owner..!! I went to this "place" out of curiosity,as I'm Vegetarian(more than 40 years) and I'm always looking for new exciting Restaurants to try out. I was not hungry at the time.. so the polite and helpful waitron suggested a "delicious " Soup. I asked (the passing) Owner a question and couldn't hear her 'mumbling snippy' reply. I explained that I could not hear what she had said... She replied,"just eat your food..!!" I suppose we're not all perfect.. give this place a try... Good luck ..!!

It's a great place especially for vegetarians because most of the food they serve there has lots of veggies. The service was good, and they kindly answered all the questions I had about their menu and they even gave me suggestions on what food to try since I knew little to none about vegetarian food. The place is beautiful inside it has an African touch decoration and sculpture, make sure you take pictures whilst you waiting for your order bcz the place is beautiful.

We had the yummiest food and decendant dessert. Went as part. Of an event for vegan month which slowed down the service hugely but ill Be back. Relaxing spot on the balcony. Friendly staff. NoTe no alcohol served. Prefect for vegan and vegetarian.

Great service at the Babylon Theatre Café. I went there at 02h30 in the morning after a heavy night on the town and the manager was kind enough to fix me up a stone pure beans wrapped in less than 10mins. The wrap tasted great too! A definite must when you in the Claremont region looking for a late night bite

Nice place, apart from steep staircase, chill. Set in Arabian themes with music to match, Babylon theatre cafe is on the second floor, overlooking Claremont main road, outside seating as well

The venue is old and rather dirty. Its also very noisy due to the loud music and busy street BUT the food is incredible. A feast of amazing vegetation finger food.

Huge selection of vegan and vegetarian food.. very tasty! Slow service as all prepared from scratch, so dont be in a hurry 😊

Amazing food, and I'm not even vegetarian!! Prices require some budget though. Highly recommended still.

Awesome food and super friendly staff. Will definitely be back for dinner and belly dancing show

Very interesting vegetarian food and great service. Cute little spot.

Awesome gluten free and vegan dishes, from starters to dessert! Amazing

So many vegan options! It’s amazing. I’ve never been to the restaurant, but I love the food! There is an expansive menu and almost everything can be ordered in a vegan option

Very disturbing to see large groups of children being served tobacco. If selling cancer to children is what keeps you in business, you shouldn't have a business.

Never again. The service was terrible, not because I waited long for orders to be taken (even though my two friends and I were the only people there). But when mentioning this to the waitress, she was so unapologetic. I went to Babylon for a quick birthday lunch and ended up losing my appetite.

Ordered a vegan pizza, had no taste. Missing items that it said it would have. I’ve been disappointed twice from Babylon and their won’t be a third.

Great food, exceptional atmosphere and you're served by genuinely happy people. If you're vegan this spot is idyllic! It's a non-alcoholic restaurant.

I had such high hopes for this place from the menu, I ordered a Venetian pizza off orderin (Vegan). The flavours were quite nice and the base was great - but honestly it was very oily, and the vegan mozzarella had a very doughy consistency, was incredibly clumpy and obviously had no "melting" properties. Considering it cost R85, excluding delivery and tip, it really wasn't worth the price. Definitely reluctant to try anything from Babylon theatre cafe again!

Appalling food! I have never had such terrible service and food in my whole life! The vegan cheese is obviously heavily processed and tastes and feels like eating a rubber band. I wouldn’t feed this food to my dogs.
Urban Suave Bespoke
Worst place to have vegan food. Opt for Hungry Herbivore, Knead, or Royale Eatery. The food here is overpriced and honestly it tastes like cardboard. Not recommended at all.

One of the best Vegan friendly restaurants I’ve ever visited. Great food, massive menu, amazing service. I’ll definitely be back for more and more!

I have had a most distasteful experience with the Babylon Theatre Cafe, both literally and figuratively. What a shame it is, as the menu is so promising. The idea of a convenient eatery, that not includes vegan and vegetarian options, but actually caters specifically for them. You can imagine how excited I was to order from them, bi the OrderIn app. This “pizza” cost me R90, and I could only manage one slice, as the taste was equivalent to eating a piece of cardboard with paint thinners- not very appealing that’s for sure.

I called the restaurant, and instead of hearing a sincere apology, I got an earful about how this was R70 cheaper than another restaurants and how this was good and had zero complaints. I’m quite confused? Have you seen this pizza? I shan’t continue, as all this does is spark a migraine.

The menu is great with many exciting options. But it does not deliver on the the promise.
The warps were stale with a dry filling and poorly packaged.

My friend suggested we come here for some late night dessert and so we did...Babylon is a vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Claremont with an eastern vibe they also have live belly dancing on some nights - the music here is really and I mean REALLY loud.

Laid back vibe you're also able to order shisa which is cool. I didn't taste any food but their beverages are really nice especially the oreo milkshake, all their other drinks are non-alcoholic. The menu was really confusing and most of it was tippexed out, some pages were missing too. Okay place overall not sure if I'll be back though.

The owner of the cafe was friendly, but the food was was cold and not very tasty, the bread hard and stale, vegetarian burger burnt. Small portions and not well prepared. Short staffed. We waited too long for our meal. We spent too much money on a below average meal. Decor bad, needs a good clean. At the end of the meal, after spending R850.00 (including drinks), we left feeling blah. Woke up during the night with indigestion....won't go back.

I ordered a take away and for someone who was extremely hungry I have to say i was truly disappointed. The food was awful. I ordered a Mediterranean beans platter. The kidney beans were average but the aubergine was absolutely horrible. The smell of the sauce it was smothered in smelt like rotten cheese. The aubergine was flavourless. And not to forget the gluten free flat bread-revolting. Iv had gluten free flat bread and breads many a time but this was by far the worse. After tasting my food I lost my appetite! A disappointing, off putting and total waste of money -that's how I'd describe my experience.

Awesome mediterranean vibe restaurant. Food was good - I ordered the lentil mujaddra with fried aubergine and tsatsiki. The watermelon frappe was very refreshing. I liked that they serve shisha as well. The main road makes the balcony a bit noisy during the day but a great dinner spot. My waitress was also friendly and timely. Will come back.
