Review The Tea Bar - Cape Town Central

Lovely quiet tea experience. Love their Rooibos blends. Great courtyard seating in beautiful setting.

The most beautiful, magical tea shop. This space used to be an antique jewellery store which has tastefully and respectably turned into a tea bar. The teas are all all exotic as well as approachable. Ceylon tea, green tea, white tea, you can find them all here as well as some amazing blends. The matcha from Lady Bonin is incredible. Very high quality and the best taste I've come across. There is a space at the back of the shop, just beyond the enchanting courtyard where tea rituals also take place. The shop really is a diamond in the rough of the city.

Fabulous tea bar and incredible selection of standard teas, matcha (yes!), foreign teas, steeps and chai. Centrally placed in Cape Town and surrounded by similar health-conscious establishments, this is certainly a place where you can relax for over an hour. Also a good spot to experience new tastes. No WiFi though.

Great little tea bar in busy Long street. I've been here several times but I still almost miss finding it because it's so tiny. There is a small courtyard to sit and eat/drink. The lattes are definitely motivation to give Lady Bonin's a visit this winter. Their little cakes and biscuits are also a treat. If you want a real matcha latte without the sugar added at other places, then theirs is highly recommended!

A fantastic and beautiful little tea bar, with a multitude of flavors and types to choose from. Friendly service and centrally located.

I love this happy little haven. Its a sanctuary from the bustling vibe of Long street. I'm no stranger to the Matcha Latte... my staple really. The Tea-rrista, Dikeledi, makes a superb, creamy, perfect one every time! Obviously not just Matcha on the menu. You can find all sorts of tea-infused latte's, slushies, snacks, and the classic cup of tea also. The tea ceremony room in the back is available if you have some time to do a tasting or participate in traditional ceremony. Always special popping in there.

Lady Bonin's Tea is a place that units sustainability with passion and quality. A blend that is rare to find! The Tea Bar has a mixture of traditional teas and teas with a modern spin -allowing you to enjoy a cup of tea even on the hottest of days! I personally enjoy their Moulin Rouge, Puerh and Matcha Slushies

Lady Bonin’s is the first tea bar in Africa and it’s doing our country proud. Personally sourced teas from around the world makes Lady Bonin’s Tea the most authentic tea merchant in SA and you’ll love this little tea nook on Long Street for a takeaway Matcha Latte or a sit-down tea-tasting experience.

What a great place to visit to enjoy some great tea, tea tasting or a tea ceremony. Do yourself a favour and go for the experience. Make time for yourself even if you don't think that you will enjoy drinking tea. Be sure to go before the tea bar closes its door at the end of January.

Most incredible selection of teas! All blended with knowledge, insight and of a very high quality. Love the shop, cosy and staff are helpful, kind and knowledgeable.

The shop is wedged between other eateries on Long Street and can easily be missed. We popped in just before they were about to close on a Saturday afternoon, which I assume was the reason for the fairly polite, but to the point service. This was a real shame because passionate, knowledgeable service is important for this kind of specialist experience. The shop itself was very cute, with some baked goods, loads of delicious sounding flavour combinations and interesting tea trinkets to explore. Although tiny, the courtyard is just lovely. I quite enjoyed my rose infused tea, which came with a promise of mental invigoration. My husband was unimpressed with his frothy green tea, and was unable to drink it despite the the initial reason for his selection - unparalleled concentration and clarity. <br/>Although not a great first experience I'm quite a tea enthusiast so I'd probably give it another go.

I was excited to try this place out but it was a bit underwhelming. I had the turmeric tea which was delicious but other than that it was just sort of okay. I don't feel like I need to go back...

Lady bonins tea bar is a cute little shop on long street with a small courtyard where you can enjoy your tea. I decided to go for the tea of the week, the rooibos chocolate chilli which was really delicious and had just a hint of chocolate and chilli. The service was great and super friendly. Would definitely be back to try more teas.

This little gem is just exquisite. Staff is so sweet and tea can be as sweet or as bitter as you want. Had the chilli chocolate and i now call it a "hug in a mug". London fog was unique too. Sat outside in the little courtyard and slowly sipped our problems away. At least it felt that way!

What more could you ask for than some lovely tea on a rainy afternoon :) A+ for their lovely selection of quality loose leaf teas. Enough with all the coffee shops. It's about time we are re-introduced to the age old culture of consuming tea. Come get your daily caffeine boost with your tea without the jitters that you would get from consuming coffee... its a way more smoother boost as tea contains theanine which lowers the side effects of caffeine such as the jitters and it actually adds more focus and concentration when it is combined with caffeine - caffeine and theanine have a synergistic balance. Ever wondered why the monks drink so much green tea and then sit and meditate for hours?!    :P
