This is just a take away shop in the food court at the Victoria and Alfred Waterfront, but it still managed some of the best seafood we had on our visit to South Africa.
My wife wasn't sure about what to order, and the staff were very friendly and helpful in suggesting a local fish from the menu.
Sitting outside in the glorious Autumn weather we enjoying the view of the bustling waterfront and the amazing children's playground.
Pretty decent meal of takeaway fish and chips, to be enjoyed overlooking the harbor. You’ve got to get the sauces too, they’re great! It’s just a tad in the pricey side overall.
If there's a fish and chips shop that one must visit it's this place. The to food to cost ratio is excellent. The fish done perfectly a must visit.
Calamari and chips are always a winner at this establishment.Everything is always fresh.My biggest recommendation ia theie Onion rings.Dont walk padt without buying a packet.
Really cute decor for such minimal space , service was good 👍🏻 prices are decent 👍🏻 the food was incredible sooooo fresh and warm and good , i loved their calamari especially it was very juicy and decent portions unlike some other places not rubbery or undercooked nice golden color would totally recommend it and would defs go again
Ordered the take away and I must say this was not too bad. The freshness was there to see since it was flaky and it was pretty quick. Not a bad place at all.
I have always wanted to eat here on my CT trips but in CT, we're spoilt in terms of halal eateries :-) finally had a go at a small portion of calamari and chips and it was so delicious. The definition of comfort food
If you're looking for a quick and delicious bite, I'd definitely recommend these guys! Their fish is absolutely amazing. Fresh and light. We've been here twice and haven't found a single thing wrong.
Honestly not a takeaway kind of person but I was sort on time and my mom really loves seafood so we stopped at this place. The food is amazing, especially the calamari except the service is so bad and the fact you have to buy your own sauce is ridiculous - like even tomato sauce.
I had the mix box which contained hake, calamari, prawns, onion ring and chips. I absolutely love fresh seafood and anything battered so this is right up my alley. Everything was tasty and I especially enjoyed the massive prawns! The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. I enjoyed the decor, especially the walls made from wooden crates. All in all a decent seafood spot.
What an amazing take-away Fish shop at the waterfront. The food tasted so good as if it just popped out of the ocean and infront of me ready to eat. The staff are so polite filled with amazing energy and life. They are also so helpful with any extras needed. The manager even came out to me to ask if I was enjoying my meal. It's very seldom that the managers come out from a take-away shop while you eating to ask if you're enjoying your meal. The spot just infront of the shop is where we sat and ate and the place was very clean and enjoyable. It's always a good trip when visiting the V&A Waterfront. My favorite spot in the Waterfront for fish & chips. It's been around forever, the fish is fresh and the quality has always stayed consistent.
Nice tasty fishes and it's all I can say , give it a try , you won't be sorry , don't complain about the service ,, heloo fish takes time ;)
An excellent experience! The hake and snoek were phenomenal- very tasty! The onion rings and shrimp were also fantastic. I love that it wasn’t all that oily so the taste and quality were evident.
The restaurant area itself is immaculate and well kept. The service was warm , friendly, efficient and helpful.

The restaurant is located on the edge of the waterfront. I went in for lunch. The food was done within 7 minutes. I had the smaller snook and fish combo. The food tasted really good and was freshly prepared.

some of the best fish and chips i’ve ever had. i ordered the hake + calamari combo with chips, which came at a great price for its quality. portion was a bit too large, but that’s better than the portions being too small. friendly cashier (HUGE relief from the horrible cashier next door at simply asia), and a nice atmosphere. there’s plenty of high-brow, expensive seafood places here— but sometimes, the best food is found in a simple food court at 110 rand.

The only fish and chips place in Cape Town that reminds me of home. Love the hake, calamari and chips with S&V!! Not sure about the deep fried prawn but maybe someone out there likes it. Definitely worth a try.
Firstly great that they were open during Christmas and Boxing day till late serving customers with a smile even after they temporarily closed told customers to wait until they serve the customers that were waiting in the line till 10pm
