The oldest pub in South Africa, but this location became unpopular for tourists and locals. Check their opening hours because on weekdays, they tend to close early, like at 7 pm.

Nice pizza, the base is nice and thin. Tastes great. There was a dog walking about, think it's another clients', which was so nice to see. The BBQ Wings was nice as well.

The atmosphere here is fantastic. There is ample seating available, and the service is very good. The food is also good, and they are very reasonably priced. Parking is a bit of a problem, but given the location this is to be expected. Having a drink at the oldest bar in South Africa is definitely an experience I would recommend.

A fantastic old school pub that has unique energy. The staff are super friendly and helpful and the beer and food are really good. There is very limited on street parking which can be a bit a of problem nevertheless I would highly recommend checking them out.

I would like to live here. It’s old and very cool, I can read a book here without being bothered l, watch a football game and enjoy a good beer with friends.

Great vibe with a bit of history. Started in 1808 as a lodge but got it's liquor license in 1836. Apparently even Cecil John Rhodes frequented the place as well. It's a pub with a great beer selection, lekker menu with friendly waiters. Been here a few times and the vibe is always great, so highly recommended for a visit

Piece of history worth coming for a quick drink, or to catch up with friends. They have ample seating and wide selection of local beers. Nice pub grub style menu as well. They are near the local myCiti busroute and walking distance from all other areas in city center, so no need to drive yourself when having a drink.
