Review Roseberry Restaurant - Cape Town Central

Eating in at Roseberry is always a great experience. The owners are friendly and accommodating of all who visit. The sushi is ALWAYS delicious and I can hardly wait to return once more.

My go-to sushi buffet (R175pp, sushi & Chinese menu). Great value for money, great sushi. The owners work hard. Very popular at peak times so service can become extremely slow. The atmosphere suits your typical family-style Chinese takeout.

Delicious sushi. Friendly staff. Affordable. Very impressed. Full house house in the middle of the week and I can see why! Will 100000% be back.

I love Roseberry sushi, done just right!! Packed great for takeaways as well so the sushi isn't all over the place. Highly recommend it

Wow! Sushi and hot food absolutely delicious. Four of us had a feast, and looking forward to leftovers for breakfast tomorrow morning

Site of workplace lunches becomes family celebration spot - the sushi (and assorted other goodies) buffet is still good value for money if you enjoy sharing.

Haven't wanted to rate this place for a long time cause I feel like it's such a gem, but I can't keep it all to myself! Always love going here! The all you can eat special is SO worth it. They don't have a buffet, so to speak, but they have a menu that you order from for the all you can special and they make it fresh so there is no conveyor belt with food standing on it for who knows how long. Sushi is always great and super delicious.

Best with friends who love sushi aa much as you do.

Phenomenal place! Friendly and prompt service with a wide variety of top-drawer, delicious food: try the superb all-you-can-eat buffet at a more than reasonable R178. This place is a hidden gem which deserves far more feet and custom. Tracy and her husband run an allround excellent restaurant.

Great food with a substantial menu in an unassuming little place. We all had Miso Soup and I had Stir-fried Tofu. Friends had Szechuan Chicken and Oyster Beef. All dishes were delicious and came with rice (in sizable portions.) Highly recommended and great value for money.

Always a yes from me. I love this place I love that its like a hidden gem

A really wonderful place. The sushi is superb. It is made by authentic hands and the serving platter is an artistic view. One complaint is when going to the restaurant on a Friday evening you need to be prepared to wait as the restaurant is very busy with table orders as well as a large take away amount of orders. Maybe a second authentic pair of hands creating the sushi will prevent a back leg and long wait for the table diners. I call at this husband and wife restaurant , I am prepared to wait and not rush due to the excellent sushi as well as Chinese food that is available.

Superb service and sushi! A staple for me and my friends. We visit at least every second week, always for the buffet. Their pork dumplings are my new favourite!

Best sushi buffet in Cape Town!

We went there yesterday as a party of 6 and enjoyed the all you can eat buffet. Our food was well prepared, beautifully presented and the quality was excellent. The service was wonderful, we felt welcome and enjoyed ourselves to no end. Thank you! We look forward to coming back again!

Food and sushi was delicious. Only problem was that they only had one waiter for the entire restaurant, which led to long waiting times for simple things like water and hot drinks.

This used to be one of my favorite spots for sushi, however they have went from being amazing to being quite selfish I would say. Their buffet menu used to have a very good selection but of late it only has the not so great options on it. We stay close by to Roseberry and have been going to a place in Durbanville lately as their buffet is R10 more than Roseberry but has a much bigger variety. Roseberry onlyy has 1 nice thing on their buffet and that is the salmon roses.... which also doesn't even have avo on anymore. SERIOUSLY. They only give you veg spring rolls most of their options on the buffet menu are all the cheap items. Really not worth it anymore :(

This is a convenient and well priced sushi and Chinese food outlet that seems to be a special favourite. You definitely get a lot of sushi for your order. I use it all the time for take away and unhappy to come in from Pinelands to do so!

My favourite sushi place since I was a student and needed budget friendly sushi. Very affordable and fresh delicious sushi. They've recently upgraded their buffet menu (R139) to add more items which is great!

Pros:
1. Affordable sushi and Chinese food
2. Large pieces of sushi
3. No need for reservation
4. Casual vibe

Cons:
1. The taste of the food overall isn't great
2. Buffet options are limited
3. They never have dumplings even though it's on their menu
4. Their Chinese food portion sizes are small and not filling
5. Waitress is not personable

This place is so excellent! Good food, great value, relaxed atmosphere and friendly, helpful staff.

For R119, the sushi buffet is super value for money and the sushi is fresh and delicious! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone in Cape Town.

We went in here not expecting much, because the decor is pretty simple with not much attention to detail. But then when our food came we were delightfully surprised! My boyfriend, who never really agrees with sushi, said he could do with another platter. Great sushi! Inexpensive! My new favourite gem.

Love this place. The buffet it really good. Everything is made to order and comes in 8's. So be careful or you will over eat before getting to the good stuff. Try the wakayama rolls

Chinese food is always a firm favourite, whether stuffed in takeaway boxes or brought to the table. Roseberry is an intimate and relaxed Asian restaurant where the decor is simple like any other Chinese restaurant...I guess the focus is on the food.

The menu consists of a few Chinese dishes but the main focus is on the sushi. The Chinese buffet is great value for money as it contains a bit of both Chinese dishes and sushi. We started off with a tasty Sweetcorn soup.

From the buffet we ordered a great variety of sushi which include items such as salmon, avo and cream cheese, Rainbow rolls to Hand rolls filled with delicious salmon, crab and prawns. The rest of the sushi was flavoursome and decent in size.

Take away orders seem to be quite popular, which in turn slows down the service when seated and dining in the restaurant.
Great sushi, great selection and freshly made to order. That is perhaps the only problem, they tend to get a lot of take away orders so when seated you tend to wait, we waited about an hour when we were there 2 weeks back. Other than service it is good value for money.
Tinéo Galela
Attended the buffet this evening. Waiting time was approximately 40 minutes for food which was different from the instant gratification a sushi conveyor belt offers. Despite the order-before-9-pm system at Roseberry, nothing beats the delight of good quality sushi. It can make any wait worth the while! The salmon roses were amazing! A great selection of meals for R120. I will definitely be back.

Hidden sushi gem for those in mowbray/pinelands areas. Good sushi, well priced, efficient service... never had a problem with an order ever! Often call ahead and just pick up on my way home... one of the best value for money sushi joints in cpt👌

We have been xploring more of Mowbray, which is fast becoming a little Bree Street with so many restaurants popping up and in close proximity to each other.

Roseberry is a quaint restaurant with white tables and chairs. Asian cultural music pays softly in the background. Offering predominantly sushi; they also have a small Chinese menu. A large a la carte menu, but also a Sushi and Chinese buffer for only R119pp. Great value. We all started with sweetcorn soup and then moved on to sushi. The rice was soft and the fish fresh. Just they way you want it. The portions are bite sized and perfect.

It was quiet when we arrived at 6.30 but ful by the time we left at 8.30. There were a lot of take always going out the door too. We left full and satisfied.

Glen Hunt Sharese Hunt BigJoe

Stopped here for lunch yesterday. This place is the perfect take away/ grab a quick bite during the week / cost-effective sushi place I've found! For sushi on a budget, the quality was great. I didn't try their buffet but they have a buy 1 get 1 free deal, and so I bought 8 pieces and got 16. Score! I was very happy with the quality of the food, the price, and the service. The people were friendly, and food came quite quickly. Good experience. I'll be back for that buffet!

The restaurant has an open environment and the people are friendly. Their all-you-can-eat is simply the best I have found in cape town. They allow for hand rolls in their all-you-can-eat! Roseberry is worth the visit very time.

My fiance and I enjoyed the chicken chow Mein and dolphin sushi platter - delicious!!
Warm, friendly and efficient service ensured that we were comfortable and glasses always filled.
Will definitely return :-)

I opted for the sushi buffet, it was good. There is a nice variety to choose from and for only R119 you are getting a good deal. The atmosphere is a little dull so go with friends to keep you entertained. You can order takeaways too, I was surprised at the number of orders that were picked up during my time spent here. I would be back!

Had the all you can eat sushi which was definitely worth it at R119. Rice was a bit dry though which was unfortunate but on the whole I really enjoyed myself.

Sushi was pretty good I had their all you can eat special which is worth it at R110. The service is a bit lacking and the wait staff had a bit of an attitude this unacceptable and is the only reason they don't get a 5/5 rating
Lauren Miller
I loved Roseberry! And my two flatmates do as well. There is an all you can eat made to order buffet for 110 rand that can not be beat.

The WORST customer service I've ever experienced. Long story short, I got called cheap and a trouble maker directly to my face because I complained that there was a piece of hair IN (not on) my sushi that was clearly not mine. I didn't even get an apology. All the guy did about it was use the flash light on his cell phone to try to prove to me that it wasn't his hair. I was told to leave and never come back. As if I ever wanted to go anywhere NEAR that horrible place ever again... just unbelievable.
