Decent cuppacino albeit slightly overpriced
the pasta was great. The servers (especially Ms. Langa) were very polite and even let us order a meal close to closing time. the manager, Ms. Spiri, was very welcoming and sweet.
My mom and I have frequented this spot for years and they're always consistent. Always great food and good service. Would highly recommend their Thai chicken sandwich 🥪! 😍
Had beef lasagne and I've never had pasta that's so nicely cooked in a loooong time, our waiter was so friendly, definitely coming again end of this month!
I was not expecting much from this place after reading the reviews on Zomato HOWEVER I must admit I was really impressed with this establishment 😱 Stopped by for lunch with the parents and from the service to the food, everything was on point. The restaurant is divided by a walkway just opposite the lower entertainment area and it has a nice spot under the elevators. The menu is extensive with daily specials. We opted for one of these specials - the roast lamb. We also had the salmon fishcakes and the butternut soup. Everyone was very happy with their meals. The portions are big but half the plate is just salad. I loved the skinny fries which accompanied the crispy fishcakes. For desserts, there’s a range of cakes and gelato however we didn’t have tummy space this time. We will be back 😊
Fantastic chicken livers with a Greek salad... The cafe latte is a good blend to complete a really good dinner... The staff are polite and friendly attending promptly to reasonable requests...
I love magnifico from food to service. Normally go with something breakfasty and sit "outside" under the wooden creation they've built in the mall
I was drawn to this place after spotting the lovely cakes/pastries and ice-creams on offer. We decided to treat ourselves to (gelato) ice-creams after lunch. I opted for the chocolate brownie flavor in a sugar cone. Now I'm not a sweet tooth at all, but this super sweet chocolate ice-cream with its huge chunks of brownie was too heavenly to resist! The rest of the family opted for mint chocolate, strawberry sorbet and stracciatella and were happy with their choices too. Staff are so friendly here and quick to help. Also so convenient having this place situated in the Centre of Canal Walk. You literally just walk past, pay and then be on your merry way to continue with shopping.
Sundays are meant to end with cake and coffee. First time ever at Magnifico and it was just below average. My chocolate cake was dry at the bottom and so so sweet on top the entire top section went to waste ! I wasn't overly happy/excited being here and the service lacked a great deal (I guess because we were ONLY eating cake), doubtful i will be back.
Running around doing errands this morning so mall food it is. Today I'm having breakfast at Magnifico which is quite a statement to be making before one even sits down. I've never stopped here before so I'm interested to see what they can deliver on.
First impressions this place is way too cluttered. There are lots of elements that speak for themselves and a cluttered table just doesn't add value. I had 9 bits of advertising on my table before I even received the menu. I think less is more and especially here as it would up the taste level. The bold mosaics and geometric laser cut steal speaks for itself. The menu is extensive, maybe too long in my opinion. I don't think one can truly deliver on each and every dish 100% of time is there are that maybe elements to master.
My cappuccino was okay. I'm sad that some espresso grinds ended up in my coffee. The micro foam was good but the coffee a bit burnt, coffee shouldn't be that hot. A bit of tweaking of the machine and it could be great.
Food wise I ordered a smoked chicken croissant and I'm hoping it's fresh considering I'm one of the first people here. Nothing sucks worse than a stale pastry. The food arrived very quickly and the pastry was indeed fresh and tasty. I really like the idea of the deep fried leek chips - cool ... just a bit oily but the first time I've seen this. Actually very tasty lighter alternative to the standard potato chips on the side.
Overall the portion size was great I definitely didn't leave hungry and the service was quick and the staff friendly.
Good service, the staff are friendly and willing to help, even if you arrive 30minutes before they close. I had a ham and cheese sandwich, it was really great! My friend had the Lindt chocolate cake. It was disappointing, it had butter icing which we think really spoils it but if you like butter icing you might enjoy it.
Hubby and I went for dinner there yesterday after shopping. Hubby had the Magnifico burger and he loved it. I had the fillet steak pasta, initially it was very dry however to their credit the waiter and manager went all out to make sure the pasta was to my taste. The overall service was great the waiters were very friendly.
Stopped in for tea and cake after a busy morning of shopping. Service was good. The variety of cakes on display was amazing and the quality of the food was good too. Their lemon meringue had a nice tartness that I appreciated, although the pastry was a bit too thick for my liking. I'd visit again.
Bistro Supreme
This quaint bistro in Canal Walk offers exactly what you need to rest your weary feet and have a break. Delicious, fresh mouthwatering snacks to feed your ultimate desires. The ice cream selection has a great variety of flavours to suit ones palate. Well attended service, friendly waiters and a fridge well stocked with whatever your whim dictates.
Late night shopping at Canal Walk tonight. I had the chicken noodle soup with ciabatta - tasty and wholesome soup - loved it. Hubby had the moussaka which was a fair size with generous brinjals and mince. It lacked flavour so he added tabasco. Our waiter , Josh, was super friendly and gave excellent service. #chickensoup #moussaka
Yummi cakes and coffee! Will have to pop in soon for something savoury with the addition of their delicious cocktails. Menu has a variety of choices and prices are reasonable, ambience is good. Good location for a quick catch up with friends. I definitely enjoyed my red velvet cheese cake and cappuccino, my boyfriend had the pecan nut cheesecake, which was as good as mine.
Great food, beautiful views, and friendly service. The prices are a bit above average, but worth it once you taste the food. I thoroughly enjoyed the food. The service was a bit slow.
My father jokes that if one day magnifico were to explode we might end up being victims too lol. It's our gathering spot everytime we go to canal walk. Conveniently located at the center, perfect for a meal after shopping and straight to the lift. The staff is always friendly and keen to please even on busy days. I just wish they had some new items on the menu because by now we've tasted it all.
I was in Canal Walk one Monday night craving waffles and when I walked past this Gelato counter, I mean who can resist?!
I ordered a Belgian waffle with tiramisu gelato and a cucumber margarita. Odd combination I know, but I was feeling adventurous.
The waffle was perfect. Crispy on the outside , fluffy on the inside and served warm so that the gelato gets melty. It came with a berry coulis that was the absolute right amount of tang and flavour. My drink was ok - not something I'd order again.
The service was very fast and friendly (bearing in mind Monday nights are not their busiest time) and I look forward to trying their specials in future.

One of our fave restaurants when we make a trip to Canal Walk by a long shot and the best place to people watch while grabbing some grub.
With a buzzing ambiance - if you sit in the cute little island section - you can snack on something delicious while watching hundreds of people go about their shopping.
We have had a number of items on their menu but our favourite still has to be their fillet souvlaki with fries. The meat is so tender and the overall dish is so, so, so tasty. Additionally, I love the option of being able to choose a size (one or two). We have also had the Prego Fillet Steak Roll and Traditional Indian Karoo Lamb Curry, all of which we wold have again and again.
Popped in for a quick bite today. Being a student from the Kalahari, I found the prices to be a bit steep.
I had a plate of chips and a glass of juice though. The juice was amazing. It was a mix of freshly squeezed orange and pomegranite juice and I loved every sip.
Only negative point is that the service was a bit slow, but that might just be because it was very busy.
All in all, a pleasent experience.

Cafe Magnifico is situated in the centre of Canal Walk , Century City.
It is very warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble , no matter if you are having a coffee or a full meal. The menu is varied and delicious, especially the Greek food. They also have Banting ,so everyone is catered for.
Highly recommended!
This place has a great variety of dishes, definitely a crowd pleaser.
Everything I've had so far has been fresh and tasty
and their gellato bar is an absolute treat for a spot of indulgence after your meal.
The setting is very open so it's not the most relaxed of places, but as far as mall restaurants go, this one is still one of the better ones
Busy coffee shop right in the centre of canal walk. Had a quick cuppucino (of which they offer 5 different types) a freezachino and 1 scoop of bubblegum icecream. Great service, comfy inviting space although very small.
Quite enjoyed both times I have been here, lunch and dinner . From great drinks and great food with friendly service, an amazing place to enjoy food with friends and family .
I absolutely adore this place. We've received such great service everytime we've been. The flapjacks has my heart and is highly recommended. The waffles werent to bad either. Will definately be back
This place has been here for years. It's really close to the food court but not inside. I've had their cakes and Ice cream but they're not halal to my knowledge so I haven't eaten meat there. Service has always been great.
They stay open quite late so if you feel like something sweet after the movies, Manifico is a great place. Very friendly staff and the pancakes are delicious.
I've been here numerous times and I love it! It's not fine dining but it's great comfort food with delicious options. The chicken pasta dish is my absolute fave but ice recently had the Thai chicken salad and it rivals as one of the best salads I've ever had.
The location of this restaurant is bit smack-bang centre so the pedestrian traffic can interrupt or distract one from enjoying a meal there. The Menu however is extensive and offers a wide variety to choose from. I have thoroughly enjoyed their Breakfast selections as well as the Pastas.

One of my favorite places. Coffee is always great, the red velvet cake is amazing and the food is fresh and tasty. Special thanks to Sibusiso, Hilton and Mustafa for always making every visit feel like I'm among friends :-)
Is it possible to get the email address/contact details of Magnifico? I would like to ask some questions and give some feedback if possible
I have had occasion to visit this branch and the other branch in Willowbridge mall over the years. I have rarely been disappointed food wise. A few days ago I popped into this restaurant while doing some business in the Canal Walk Mall. Now, I know the location is a limiting factor in the appreciation of this restaurant. However, it is what it is, a restaurant within a mall walkway with one part of the restaurant being separated from the other by means of a thoroughfare and a large portion of the establishment being under the escalators. There is little that can be done about that except perhaps to use a decorative screen around three sides of the escalator portion. Once you're actually seated though, this is less of an issue; I sat in the enclosed part of the restaurant near the cash register and alongside the smoking section but far enough from it so that the smoke was not an problem. Having sat under the stairs on previous occasions I also found this to be less of a big deal once I was actually seated. And lets face it, it is a mall and the restaurant serves mainly lighter meals. This is also a Banting and diabetic friendly place and I have stopped to pick up a sugar free ice cream on several occasions. Yes, there is frozen yogurt to be had nearby but I feel a good deal more comfortable with this ice cream compared with a heavily sugar laden frozen yogurt which in any event has that sour yogurt aftertaste despite the copious quantity of sugar added. Once seated I ordered a breakfast which consisted of mushrooms, eggs and Frankfurter sausage. They offer all the usual varieties of bread and also a Banting option for R10 extra which is fair enough considering the price of the ingredients. They offer three varieties of Banting bread which is thoughtful which contain either, added cheese or olive of sun-dried tomato. I ordered the sun-dried tomato option but I was given the cheese option although I wasn't phased by this as I'm certain they would have replaced it if I had asked. The rest of the meal, tea, eggs, mushrooms were all as they should have been, and what's more I enjoyed the experience.
Never been a fan of their location. So I've always skipped the typical squeezed in mall cafe. But honestly, it was a tasty meal. Can't say I see myself becoming a regular. And if you're a smoker, they have a box with no windows or views at the back for you, if you're into that kind of thing.
I had such a great breakfast here trying out their banting menu! Their homemade seed bread is delicious and super good for you! This is a perfect spot to go between shopping!
Ive always walked past this restaurant and been put off by the location of the tables between two escalators. I was surprised by how much I enjoyed our visit and how good the food was. They offer all day breakfasts and a very big variety of meals. Our waitress was attentive and the food came quickly. The desserts looked amazing too Emma Bowen
Popped in for a quick lunch bite before shopping. Service was polite, prompt, attentive probably the best we have had in Cape Town for a while. Thanks to our waitress Martha for making us feel welcome and for assisting us. The food was ok. We had Eggs Benedict and Toasted Sandwiches so couldn't really go wrong. The Eggs were slightly over medium and hollandaise was fairly bland. Coffee was a saver though
Nothing like a massive healthy, long-lasting breakfast! Portions were very generous but in line with the prices.. I found it a bit on the expensive side having my Frankfurter and egg at R72 and my boyfriend eating the full house vibe for R93. None the less loved the food it was very tasty and service wasn't bad! Been there done that... Moving on.
Always a favourite of mine when shopping at canal walk! There food is consistent and they offer some delicious desserts! I would definitely recommend coming here
A perfect stop for a quick lunch if you're shopping at Century City, having a quick catch up with friends or grabbing a lunch with a coworker. Magnifico serves all your traditional lunch-type meals, from toasted sandwiches to wraps, salads and comfort food, as well as breakfast and a wide variety of desserts.
The food isn't exactly standout quality - it sounds better on the menu than what it actually is in real life. However, I highly recommend Magnifico if you're looking to have a slice if cake or a scoop of ice cream. Their desserts really are very fresh - moist cakes and delicious frostings. And they have a wide variety of ice cream flavors. My personal favorite is the snickers ice cream - it even has little bits of chocolate and biscuit in it!
The service is excellent - our food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. She really made us feel very welcomed!
Top tips: Their ice cream is a must try! Don't expect much from their wraps and salads - rather order a toasted sandwich.
Love this place! I usually have the chicken mayo tranmazini and I've also had the Pasta Alfredo which was delicious! Today we had cinnamon and sugar pancakes and a bar one pancake. Both were great! The new decor looks amazing , and staff are always helpful. One of the better restaurants in Century City sure, and a menu with lots of great variety :)
I was afforded the great opportunity to test out the new Banting menu at Cafe Magnifico at yet another foodie meet up, and trust me , Banting never tasted this good ! The Greek Banting platter was strewn with meatballs ( a secret Greek recipe of course ) and zesty chicken kebabs, along with pita bread, humus and a fresh Greek salad. The meatballs and chicken were spicy and delicious ! For dessert I had the best cheesecake - Banting of course - and it tasted just like the real thing ! The staff were attentive and so friendly and we even received personal attention from the owner! In addition , the company was amazing. I've eaten at Magnifico before and if Banting ain't your thing , try the pancakes and waffles - supper fluffy and tantalizing! They also make a great cup p coffee ! Will definitely be taking my family there for some hearty eating:)
A wonderful little spot in the middle of canal walk!
A nice place to stop during your shopping trip! They have a large variety of choice!!
I went there for the breakfast, I eat the eggs benedict with some Banting bread it was my fist Banting experience and definitely not the last one :)
A fantastic little spot with a large menu. The fresh squeezed juices are delicious and they make some interesting mixes that arrive layered in the glass. Mix it all together or tactfully drink individual layers with your straw. As a main I destroyed a Greek platter consisting of various treats. First off meatballs straight from heaven. Dunk these bad boys in some tzatziki for maximum benefit. Furthermore there were succulent chicken kababs, salad, warm pita and hummus. Greek food is the bomb! Last was a surprisingly good banting cheesecake which lasted a few microseconds before being entirely imbibed . All in all I would recommend Magnifico whole heartedly. The menu has something for everyone and the staff are excellent.
Magnifico is an awesome little spot tucked away under some stairs in Canal Walk, and might seem easy to miss but is well worth a visit! The service is great, the staff are friendly and the food is absolutely divine! I ordered a Greek platter that delivered tender chicken skewers, deliciously tasty meatballs and warm pita to dip in the hummus and tsatsiki... perfection! Despite being full from the large platter, I finished off my meal with a scrumptious piece of banting-friendly cheesecake... will definitely be back!
If you are looking for an awesome banting breakfast - this is the place to go! The free-range sausage, mushroom and egg breaky is an absolute winner - try a slice of their banting bread and you are all set for the morning! Will definately be my breakfast place when Christmas shopping this December.
Man, I may have found my new mid-shopping-spree pitstop at Canal Walk. We had a delicious breakfast at Magnifico this morning, and it was served by the friendliest waitress I've encountered in a long time. I ordered the Banting breakfast, which consisted of free range sausage (ahmazing), crispy baco, avo, eggs, and some truly yummy mushrooms. I ordered a small side of their hot Banting bread, just to try it - and it was fantastic. I've heard great things about their milkshakes, too... so I'll have to come back for one of those!
This wasn't the first time that I've had coffee at this place but it was the first time I've eaten here and it gives me joy to say their food is as good as their coffee! I had a really tasty pasta and flat white. Also since it was Friday they were pumping Friday party songs which made the whole experience awesome. Simply magnifico!
The food is of top quality, with very good service. Great selection of various meals on the menu. The waiting time was quick and nice value for money.
We had the Magnifico Breakfast here this morning. Excellent food... really really good bacon. Eggs to perfection and tasty home made burger patty. However - the red cappuccino (large) ar R42 was a little steep.
Amazing...I had the hog dog with bacon and cheese. Really tasty. Friendly service. Just dont like the fact its right next to the escalators. People can see into your plate...
Went for a bit of team breakfast and this was the best place to pick. We hadn't made a booking but they accommodated us easily. We had an array of meals from the menu and there were no complaints. What I liked was that I could choose how I wanted my eggs cooked, (scrambled, fried or poached) and there was extra charge. Even though it's right smack in the middle of the mall, it wasn't too loud but overall an excellent experience.
Baked chessecake lovers look no further for the perfect one! Cafe Magnifico has had my vote for 5 years going on strong. I have eaten so much baked cheesecake at so many places and even attempted to bake one myself 😮🙈 but alas, none compare to that of Cafe Magnifico's. Whether you're into plain baked cheescake or a tiny bit daring opting for a caramel or chocolate one, they are def the place to go!!!
The eggs benedict with bacon, caramelized onions and mushrooms is absolutely amazing! Food comes out quickly and our waitress always had a smile on her face.
Always enjoy the fare at this family restaurant. A firm favourite of ours. Great service even at peak service times. Delicious food. Good value for money.
As I live near Canal Walk, I have had the opportunity to visit this restaurant on many occasions, and to be perfectly honest, it's many because I keep going back! With a wide selection of foods from across the boarder, this eager little place in the centre of the mall offers excellent quality food with fast and friendly service. Whether it's a sandwich you want, or a full on meal, breakfast, lunch or supper, or simply a coffee and cake, these guys do it all, and do it well. I have yet to be disappointed.
It is wonderful place to take friends to.
My friends and I have "Breakfast Club" meetings at least every fortnight and this is our favourite hangout by miles. Their extensive menu is brilliant, there's something for everyone and every craving and every taste - really cannot go wrong. Their "gelato waffles" are my favourite guilty pleasure - delicious golden brown and toasty heart-shaped waffles with your choice of gelato (from the wide range) - greatly satisfies the Dessert Stomach.
Probably my favourite Canal Walk restaurant.
I love stopping here to refuel after a busy morning of shopping at canal walk. Even when it's really busy the service is good. I love the toasted sandwiches and they serve great coffee!
Awesome place that is called Magnifico!!!! Never dissappointed with great food, awesome coffee with friendly and efficient service!!!! And.......they offer a smoking sectiin which is always a big drawcard for us. I had the cheese and mishroom burger and Terrance the Dagwood burger.....very tasty!!!!
I feel like I need an entire week to rave about these guys! Without a doubt, my favourite breakfast-at-any-time restaurant in Cape Town. Amazingly delicious juices and burgers... And bagels and chips... And salad and tramezinnis (sp)! Friendly service and great vibe. I love Magnifico.
Service always great and the food!! Food is always on time, never cold and the waiters are always friendly.
I will definitely recommend this restaurant to my friends and family.
At first I didn't consider eating here but all I really wanted was a milkshake to go. They offered to give me the salted butter caramel ice cream as a milkshake and I graciously accepted. I am so thankful I did because it was truly the most "magnifico" milkshake I have ever had - simple but delicious. The setting isn't great but the service is snappy and I thoroughly enjoyed my milkshake to the last sip.
I love Magnifico! From their food to their milkshakes to their Belgium waffles! Magnifico is a great place to go with your family or on a date. Their prices are reasonable and food is always great!
This restaurant is my absolute favourite. I've never been disappointed in anything I've ordered there. After we had a complete disaster night on Saturday, we went to Magnifico to redeem our confidence in restaurants and soothe our souls. I'm a big fan of the chicken schwarma and would definitely recommend that.
Great food! Fair prices and good service. The Pino Ice cream is a must have.
Great place to eat. Management and staff are super friendly. Good and tasty food. Definitely worth a visit.
This is a really great restaurant! Their menu has got a great variety and it is great value for money. I have eaten there on several occasions thus far and each time the service has been awesome, their food portions generous and the value for money outstanding! Their schwarma's are a must have as well as their vegetarian dishes. I recommend this place if you would like to enjoy a great meal with great coffee and great service!
Absolutely love this place. Amazing breakfast & brunch options, on the go or to chill and catch up with friends. I had an eggs benedict on a toasted English muffin with bacon, mushrooms and hollandaise sauce and I must say, their hollandaise sauce is truly one of the best Ive had. The eggs were perfect, soft as requested and the hollandaise sauce was rich and creamy, didnt split after a few minutes as Ive experienced at many other places. The English muffin was toasted, steamy and fresh.
Service is second to non. There is always a waiter ready or nearby to fulfill your request. There is also a smoking section for those who smoke, so no need to take a half mile journey outside the mall to light one up.
I paired my breakfast with an Amarula coffee, I shouldve requested a double but the coffee was great nontheless.
Century Blvd, Century City.
We only buy our ice cream at Magnifico only because the food they sell is not strictly halaal. The ice cream is amazing though and that’s all that we come for. They have various interesting flavours to chose from. My husband enjoys the lemon flavour and I love anything with chocolate. The staff are eager and friendly. 👌
It was a very good experience, the staff is very friendly and the cappuccino is good. The cappuccino's stronger than some of the other coffee shops I've tried, so I'm very happy with that. There is also no shortage of choices whether it's pastries, cakes or even ice cream.
I had quite an impressive New York style cheesecake slice here. Please go try it. Great coffee as well. Its a very warm little coffee shop in the centre of the mall. Great to just chill and people watch.
My favorite thing to do on weekends, after shopping up a storm, is parking my trolley and relaxing at the tables between the escalators. If, like me, you like people-watching - this is the place to be. The team, every one of them, are extremely friendly and attentive. The caramel baked cheesecake is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted before! I love it so much, I ordered an entire one for my birthday a few years ago! The tremmazinis are flavorful and fresh. A portion of four, big triangles that I usually can’t finish on my own and have now begun sharing with my sister. The fries are crispy on the outside and soft in the middle and are tossed in a yummy spice. The hot dogs are also a treat! Almost everything I’ve tried here is of high quality. The pricing, though high, is easy to digest knowing you’ve had a really great meal. Worth every penny.
Located in the food court area of Canal Walk this bistro does not disappoint. Breakfast is served all day which is perfect for brunch.
The food is delicious and the prices are moderate. Their desserts are definitely worth the visit.
Have never not enjoyed a visit here.
Last visit, food was good although burger could have been a bit bigger. Chips were delicious. Server was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable on the menu.
Goes without saying, but will definitely visit again.
Had a lovely early dinner with my parents; the beef burger was great.
Personnel are always excellent and kind. The food is always good. Smoke area. Gelato is top tier. Probably my favourite place for breakfast / brunch / lunch.
I can't begin to explain how amazing the food and drinks at this place are. The prices for the food are also quite reasonable. They also have a wide variety of cakes and gourmet ice-cream available. The service was also great and the food didn't take long. I would definitely go back.
The Bistro offers customizable vegetarian menu, definitely recommend the breakfast wrap, don’t forget the warming and boosting Irish coffee, they’ll make your day!
Had a nice coffee and a really good bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. One of the better sandwiches I have had recently.
Small downside is that there aren't really any tables with plug points.
Cute and cozy coffee spot. Smoking allowed inside. There are also tables outside for non-smokers. My husband and I love this spot. We go regularly and the staff are friendly and efficient.
The freshest orange juice I've had in a while! Plus, seeing staff members laugh and joke with one another creates a great environment.
The tuna mayo ciabatta could do with less tuna perhaps. But even the fries were fresh and amazing. Will be back!
No complaints, food is always good and their gelato stand is a must visit. Magnifico has been in Canal Walk since it opened in 2000. It's worthwhile to see why they've been around for so long.
We generally dont eat here, we stop and have a drink while visiting the mall. Weirdly enough it doesn't have a traditional restaurant atmosphere but being tucked away under the escalators it is a lovely place to get out of the hustle and bustle of the mall and people watch. It's always my first choice when I want to just rest my feet during a marathon mall shopping day.
