Hi everyone. I visited this cute little place 2 day's ago. Would defiantly recommend to anyone that has a taste for something spicy! 10/10 for food and service. The nacho's and jalapeno poppers was the best I ever had and I have visited many Mexican restaurants before. You can even get creative with crayons! Had such a good time and the music was great. Very impressed with the change of attitude and food quality here. Burritos are exquisite, as are Chef David's tortilla chips and dips. Place has super nice crew too..esp Service Ambassador Kerryn and Rosa et al in the kitchen!
I took my family there today (30/12/2015), we had absolutely amazing time, the food was out of this world and as a restaurant/pub manager myself I really enjoyed it today, the service was a tad slow bjt it kinda fitted in with our schedule.
Great stuff, will definately be back on our next holiday to the Cape. Just wish we had one in Jozi.

Good food. Flavours are fresh and natural. The chilli is truly great, good kick that is balanced by salsa and other toppings. Not my favourite to sit, but regularly get take out.
I went there even after reading some disappointment reviews, I entered got a warm welcome ordered the food, got a bit delayed in delivering it to me considering only 3 tables were occupied at that time and the chefs were busy talking themselves anf making funnof each other instead of cooking food, still the food was delicious a true maxican food which made me overlook for delayed service while giving review score. Overall a nice experience and delicious maxican food.
We visited and had a great time! The chilli-poppers were delicious, as were the mains (we had pulled pork burritos). The food overall is spicy with flavour which we loved, not just hot!! We also enjoyed the frozen margaritas. The staff were friendly and loved the relaxed atmosphere.
A few of my close friends and I were looking for a couple of drinks and some good chow on a Friday after work and came across El Mariachi's Liberado Special. We got eight jalapeno poppers (yes that's right, 8!) and a Liberado tequila flavoured beer for R50. Honestly the best R100 I ever spent (I bought two specials because they were so good). The poppers were just spicy enough and served with great sauces! I didn't get anything else on the menu but my friends did and they seemed to enjoy what they ordered. I would definitely go back even if the special wasn't on any longer! Keep it up guys
I am here in El mariachi Mexican restaurant but manager who is on duty is rude we spend so money but he doesn't want change the music why????? Service not good really not happy at all.@
Simply love the food here. After visiting Mexico on a weekly basis for 8 months while working abroad,i can vouch for this restaurant if you looking for that authentic Mexican cuisine. I normally stick to my favourite, that being the the Chilli Poppers(stuffed jelapeno with cheese)as my starter and my main which is the Chicken Burrito(very spicy but damn good). Staff are very friendly and efficient including the ladies in the kitchen. Cynthia my normal waitress whom i request all times if shes working is on top of her game and is a gem to this place. The only reason i have not given them a 5 star rating is because they stopped the half price Wednesdays!
We visited El Mariachi for an early supper. Without much expectation, we were pleasantly surprised with the good service received but most importantly the great food and drinks we enjoyed. We opted for the beef and chicken quesadillas, which was delicious. Being a lover of Mexican food, I would definitely recommend this unpretentious, laid back little gem of a place to anyone to enjoy with family or friends.Â
P.S. the margaritas are amazing!!
I read the reviews before visiting el mariachi, I always do. Especially with a groupon which my dad decided to buy. The reviews left me very nervous and I didnt have the heart to tell my dad about it. Guess the restaurant peeps must have read it too and made a change as the food was so good ! The ribs I had for the starter was so soft it literally fell off the bone and it tasted SO delicious. The calamari frito as well. It was my sister's but I had most of it just because it tasted THAT good. I was a little disappointed with the fact that the fajita ingredients were all separate for you to make your own. I know some people would prefer that but I would have liked my fajitas already made, as described on the menu. Cocktails were great. Had a lovely dinner and am pleased I didnt pre-spoil it by mentioning previous reviews to la familia. Thank you :)
I really enjoy Mexican food, but struggle with any kind of hot food. Usually I make a point to ask for super mild food. Tonight, I forgot and was worried when the chef brought the food and said "I made it extra hot for you".
My mouth nearly died, but I could not stop eating because the tacos were just that wonderful! My wife had the calamari, which was excellent too. It was an awesome meal.
Had some really tasty tacos... Looking forward to going back.

El Mariachi brings Mexico to Seapoint! The food and drinks are very well priced. They have a couple of Mexican-style dishes to choose from, which you can have plain or you can add a meat topping/filling to it (beef, chicken, etc). The nachos are very tasty, even just plain as a snack. The restaurant has a very relaxed atmosphere, and you can either sit at a table or at a counter which overlooks the busy street - bit noisy maybe but it has a cool vibe. They have a couple of cocktails as well, including one which consists of a Frozen Margarita with a full bottle of Corona turned upside down into the glass - very refreshing! Even the standard Frozen Margarita's is one of the best I've ever had.
