Great service and quality items sold. Will be back
Great bakery! Try the club sandwich or breakfast roll. Good experience to see the staff in the open kitchen. The smell of freshly baked bread leaves your mouth watering.
Knead has a really awesome setting going for it, I like the interior look. I had a brilliant white hot chocolate which is a favorite. For brunch I ordered the Benedict burger. It wasn't as good as I was hoping it to be. I think it would have tasted a whole lot better if the patty was handmade, and I also think the hollandaise needs to be a bit more powerful.
Went and had breakfast at the Wembley Square branch. Ordered a toasted sandwhich and my friend had their croissant with scrambled eggs and bacon. The bread I ordered tasted a bit sour but it was otherwise good. The service was a bit slow.
Went for the Labia which is extremely worth it. I had the vegetarian burger with a side salad. The veggie patty was really good and had whole beans in it. The side "salad" however was disappointing, it was quite small and mostly leaves. My friends really enjoyed the chicken.
Knead never disappoints. Had a quick bite during my lunch time - ordered the French toast with cinnamon and honey (I enjoyed the combination of it) it was simple and tasty. I tried the lemon ice tea and it wasn't bad as I've had better. The service was rather quick and easy. I'll definitely go back 😊
Always consistently happy with the service at Knead in Wembley square. Have been going ever since it first opened up many years ago and have seen the menu develop over time, with some great new additions. However, the favourites always remain, which has made me happy. Their all day breakfast pizza, tomato soup with pesto and pies are all winners. It's a great place for a quick, and reasonably priced meal. If you're there in between meal times a chai latte and one of those giant triple choc cookies is a great treat!
Lovely breakfast and friendly staff. I wanted to come for just a cup of Joe (That's coffee not a person) and I just had to try one of these dishes. I was not disappointed.
Wonderful atmosphere for a Saturday brunch with friends or family! The food was just above average. I had scrambled eggs with crispy bacon, slow roasted tomato and roasted field mushroom on a croissant. My scrambled eggs were the perfect consistency and my croissant was deliciously buttery. I would've preferred to have my croissant on the side, as opposed to underneath the toppings to appreciate the full flavour (and texture!) of the croissant. Friendly and prompt service!
Knead is a place I love to go to - they always have fresh and delicious food. The muffins and croissants are tasty and well baked, with an overall great amount of sweetness. My absolute favourite, however, is the freshly baked bread - get the nut and raisin loaf, add some salted butter, and you're good to go. The crunch and sweetness from the raisins means I could easily eat this bread plain.
Their sit down meals are good - an especially good place for a breakfast and a coffee ☕ (if that's your thing). 80%.
Organic, urban farmed Spinach from Wynberg, eggs from Solataire, friendly and professional staff and delicious food. I love that you can Benedict your breakfast, a new favourite.
It was my first experience at Kneed and I must say I really enjoyed it!
The smell of freshly baked bread floating through the restaurant immediately gets you excited for the meal. The menu was diverse and I was tempted by multiple options on the menu. Given that my taste buds had already been tantalized by the gigantic bread loaves I had no choice other than getting a roll.
The service was efficient and friendly and the restaurant layout and decor reminded me of a modern bakery. The food arrived quickly and everyone really enjoyed their meals.
I look forward to returning soon
Today my workmates and I decided to visit knead today for lunch. We only had an hour before having to rush back to work, so knead was the perfect place to grab a quick bite. We all ordered a toasted sandwich with either rye, sourdough and gluten free bread freshly made to choose from. The food was good and thankfullly didn't take long to come and the service was great. The side of chips however was not up to its standard. Knead has a very contemporary urban vibe to it with a great outdoor area looking onto table mountain. It's a great cozy place for a quick bite.
Experience 4/5
Always a lovely time at knead. It has an upmarket rustic vibe to it which I love. Perfect for breakfast and lunches
Service 3/5
Service is good, however it's lacking that extra mile of helpfulness and friendliness
Food 4.5/5
Amazing! Their breakfasts and open sandwiches are great. I personally love their pizzas in their oblong shape. However I recently discovered their veggie burgers!!! OUT OF THIS WORLD👌🏻 hands down best veggie burger I've ever had (and I've had a lot) I had the Hawaiian one. (Which is also vegan friendly 👍🏻)
Location & decor 4.5/5
Located in the centre on kloof street and faces onto the road. Ample parking inside the centre. Upmarket, rustic bakery vibe. Lots of wood and iron and warm lighting

Had the scrambled eggs, salmon and pesto for brunch. The concept is cute, everything freshly baked. On a clear day, it is nice to sit outside and enjoy your meal. The service is efficient. Have no complaints.
The Knead in Gardens is always bustling, and yet somehow, the kitchen and the waitstaff really know how to keep up! The service is always really quick and on point, even when you're making a bunch of changes to the menu. The food is delicious, the coffee is good, and the bakery does wonderful things.
Went to Knead in town with a friend yesterday. We both ordered smoothies. I got the berry and he got the peanut one. Prices were R32 each, which is comparable to other places. My smoothie was delicious, but he said his was tasteless. Service was laid-back.
Yummy milkshakes and pastries. Very fresh and good quality. The service was decent and the vibe was busy but still chilled. I would definitely recommend it for a quick coffee and bite to eat.
I had a great toasted egg, bacon and cheese sandwich. My latte was very tasty. Service is decent and prices are good. Always a good experience at Knead.
Very pleasant little spot. Wine is up to standard and pretty affordable. The pizza was delicious. The service was fast and pleasant, even on a Sunday. The baked goods are a sneaky treat too.
Best coffee in town! Love their breakfast pizzas and they make the most amazing loafs of bread that you can take home! Lunch sandwiches are also something not to miss
We arrived at Knead just before closing time, and the waitress was gracious enough to allow us to order even though the kitchen had already closed. Despite that we received excellent service, I had the classic beef burger which was delicious. Will definitely go back when not as rushed to enjoy a more leisurely meal.
My favourite place for breakie! The fact that it's just across the road definitely helps ;) I've never gotten bad service here and the food is always fresh and tasty!
Visited on a rainy Tuesday morning, packed to the rafters, professional attention from 4 different waiters and management, breakfast promptly delivered and exceptionally well presented, vary rare that breakfast establishments get it right, this venue certainly does, will certainly make this a regular spot.
Absolutely love knead. Its a 5minute walk frm campus so its quite convenient. The set up is so comfortable. I zoned out for a few minutes just to watch them make the breads in the kitchen...i love when i can see kitchens from where im sitting. I had a dirty chai latte which is a chai latte with a shot of espresso and it was gorgeous! For lunch my mates and i have the spinach and feta quiche with a juice of the day. Never disappointed.
Really enjoyed the hot americano and the scrambled egg in rye this morning... And R22 for breakfast before 08:30 and coffees are R10!!
Love the ambiance of the cafe too
The servers and staff are very professional and seem well trained. The flat-breads (pizzas) were satisfying (and large!), and even when I custom ordered my own toppings they got everything right. It's impossible to come here for food though and not go back with something sweet....the freshly baked cookies and brownies and muffins keep calling to you, and they are every bit as divinely delicious as they look :-)
A lovely atmosphere and surroundings. Staff were brilliant and particularly attentive - we went as a large group without a booking after being let down by my sins at Wembley square. Service was spot on and the food was simply delicious. Since the first experience, several of us have returned a number of times and have never had anything other than an excellent meal/experience. Only downside has been that they do not have a high chair for little ones. Or at least they didn't have one when we last took our 7 month old in March. But they were great accommodating to my little one's obsession with bread!
We headed to Knead after a couple of hours at a night market at Wembley Square, and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Cool, uncomplicated, down to earth, the prices are excellent for the quality and quantity of the food. Knead at Night means that all main meals are R40, no matter what you order. Two of us tried the pizzas, which were absolutely delicious (I tried the butternut and Danish feta one), while the other had the chicken curry and I believe that was just as yummy!
Drinks we tried included their homemade lemonade, which was so refreshing and yet not overpoweringly sour, and a strawberry milkshake, made with real strawberries - where do you EVER get that these days?
Really delightful and cool, recommended for friends, couples and families.
knead has great food and even better specials. The lunch and dinner specials are super affordable and really worthwhile to try out.
My last meal was the roasted tomato soup and after having that, I don't think I could ever order anything else, it was literally to die for.
Be sure to check out their specials menus, everything on the dinner menu is R40.
Some days all you Knead is an easy drinking Americano, a silky flat white, a Southern Fried Chicken Burger, and a delicious cheese omelette.
Well, this is the place you'll find it.
Knead is also a good place to plug in and get some work done on the go.
Went to grab a quick bite to eat at the Bakery and eatery after an exhausting morning. The cafe was a bit understaffed, so the food took a bit long to arrive. But that was not a deal breaker: our friendly and bubbly waitress got the restaurant an extra star because of her great personality.
I had the chicken mayo sandwich on ciabatta bread. The sandwich was filled with a great amount of creamy chicken and mayo filling, but the bread was a bit too toasted. The buttermilk chicken burger was sublime! The burger was well seasoned and cooked. The chicken and chorizo pizza was average - the chicken on the pizza and chicken mayo burger needed more seasoning. Lastly, the Sloppy Joe breakfast sandwich... Uh, the minced meat was okay, but it needed a bit of sugar or some sweetness to add another layer of depth to it and I needed more acidity on the salsa.
Overall, it was a good experience: we were full, had great service and we were seated in a relaxed environment. Our waitress earned Knead an extra star.

Beautiful service by Silas.
My friend & I met for a catch up breakfast that went till 2pm & the service here was exceptional. Beautiful aesthetics aswell & very quiet environment.
Loved every minute here.
This would be our third Knead that we went to. For an inside restaurant it has done pretty well to have an outside vibe to it. Also thanks to the trees in the mall it is in. Love the dreamy lighting inside. It gives you all the warm and cosy feels. Wifi, socket outlets, soft lounge chairs, flowers everywhere and a well rounded cuppacino. What more could you ask for? The burgers are fat and delicious. Try the apple cinnamon caramel crumble brioche french toast. It is not too sweet and it tastes lovely and light. The staff is very friendly

Great venue for breakfast or lunch with a good variety of food and beverage options and reasonable prices. Ample underground parking, which is great for a place in town.
Never was sure what to get at Knead as a vegetarian, there are a lot of options but everything I chose was average and I would always choose something different. But the other day we went and I found the Falafel Tacos. And damn. They were absolutely amazing. The photo says it all. Tasted super fresh and the yoghurt and mint dressing was the perfect accompaniment. 10/10. I’ve found my Knead order.
I was here for dinner and also for breakfast, big menu with a variety of food, vegetarian options , cakes , pizza was great too, very complete
This branch is so great. I sometimes go here after gym and they always remember me.
They have really delicious breakfast specials up until about 8.30am. Their usual menu is just as great and, to be honest, my favourite coffee in Cape Town is from Knead as it is always strong and flavourful.
Unfortunately kloof street knead is superior. But food still being great and cozy.
Love a green juice with matcha & mint after a session at Virgin Active. It's zingy and delicious.
Great eggs Benedict. Good service. Decent coffee (though not the best in the area). Good quality and selection of breads. Can be a bit slow to get your order if you come in a large group - depends in their load.
Decent food and reasonable prices (although after the most recent price increase they're a little expensive for what they offer). The service is friendly, but pretty slow. That said, their pizzas are good, all the breads are freshly baked, and the coffee is pretty decent. They also offer a fair selection of vegetarian meals, along with gluten free and low carb option. Don't bother trying the free WiFi, it's essentially broken and has been for years.
