A touch of elegance with tea!
I love coming here for tea and tarts or macaroons.
Watching passers by from thrown like seats
Try the earl grey...
Great service Excellent food Couldn’t ask for more Fresh patty fresh bun Awesome flavour Cinnamon shake was yum All the food we had was excellent Pasta Pastrami sandwich Choc eclair Salmon sandwich We were very sceptical as place was in a quiet part of V and A waterfront and was not busy considering it was lunch time But to our surprise this was worth a visit Food portions was just perfect and not small
Such a pretty cafe in the middle of a shopping centre no less. From the china in which the pretty cakes and tea is served to the treasure box in which your bill presented.
Albeit pretty, the cakes and pastries are fairly average. However, the tea menu is right up my alley (variety of green, oolong and herbal teas are on offer).
OMG this is the most elegant boutique-like cafe I've seen. Their decor is absolutely beautiful and their desserts are delicious. I had the meringue basket and Nutella-donut milkshake. Wasn't really a fan of the meringue basket but the milkshake definitely made up for it. My boyfriend had the profiteroles and strawberry milkshake. I like the fact that his milkshake tastes like actual strawberry. We will define lay call again!
Really love their macaroons! So sweetly put on display alongside their truffles, which they specialise in. I particularly enjoyed their vanilla and rosewater macaroons, great with a cup of rooibos tea.
I went here for dessert and they have really good dessert! Portion size a bit too small for the price. But, really enjoyed the cranberry juice too. Loved the decor, really pretty. However, I did feel like I was very ontop of the people next to me. But good spot to chill 🍮
Good breakfast spots at the waterfront are somewhat of a rarity and Myatt was one of the few we hadn't tried yet. The location in summer might prove to be a problem in summer as you likely don't want to sit inside while the sun is out.
From what I could see their speciality is chocolate, however breakfast I think leaves a lot to be desired. They're not too expensive but their breakfasts also look rather cheap and i think the kitchen to make their meals a little more visually appealing. If you're just popping in for a coffee in between shopping you definitely won't go wrong here.
Best macaroons in Cape Town. Not too sweet, not too hard, just the right amount of love. My favourate is the honey & saffron. Such a complimentary taste. Have some sweet dream tea with macaroons. In addition their sandwiches are also really nice. X S
I love this very elegant coffee shop. The decor is romantic and the service is always friendly. Today I went for a cup of Earl Grey tea and as usual it was perfect. They do serve breakfast and light lunch but their best treaty is the dessert. I highly recommend it.
This is a pretty little spot in the VA Waterfront, close to the Table Bay hotel entrance.
They specialize in the retail of imported Belgian pralines.
On the menu you'll find a typical selection of small cafe eats. The coffee here is surprisingly tasty and expertly crafted. Take a break while shopping and try some chocolate!
Not the first time I've visited this place but I must say today's visit left me pleasantly surprised. My kiwi, pineapple and mint smoothie was delicious and so was my friends iced coffee. I had the rare roast beef sandwich, I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was quite filling. My friend had the roast chicken tart, the flavours were good but the texture of the pastry was off. The place also lacked atmosphere this could be attributed to the lack of clientele at this time of the day. Overall a good experience.
Second time around
Went to Myatt for dessert recently and I was very impressed. Their chocolate mousse was delightful and so was their tea. One serving of tea could easily serve four people so real good value for money. My coffee milkshake had the perfect amount of coffee in it which really impressed me as most places get this wrong. A must try if you craving something sweet.
Myatts is such a sweet place to visit for a tea time treat. I have visited Myatt a few times and this time I decided to try their meals. For drinks, I had a pot of tea and my friend ordered a hot chocolate. I ordered the chicken burger and my friend ordered the chicken salad. The chicken salad was well presented and full of flavours. However, I thought my chicken burger was quite average and a bit dry. The service is not always great as well as the dining area is separated from their actual store. I prefer Myatt for their hot drinks and macaroons rather than their meals.
It's so pleasing to observe a Halal eatery that is run in an organized and cohesive manner. I love their seating arrangement - it's like you have your own 'bubble' in the mall, away from the hustle and bustle.
The decor is gorgeous; albeit a little too girly for my taste. I especially enjoy the sinful croissants with a cup of tea while watching shoppers pass me by. It's a relaxing spot to catch up with friends or "me-time" and the service is great.
Their food is just a little expensive (okay, I know it's the Waterfront!) - macarons are priced at R10 a macaron. But the macarons are so divine that I didn't particularly mind; there's also such a wide variety of elegant flavours to choose from!
My experience of this restaurant was quite good in that the service, tea and sweet treats were of a good standard. I love the array of teas available and the macarons were delicious - almost as good as those at Cassis. I think the look and feel of the cafe is very inviting and quite open, but private at the same time, with giant armchairs. I would recommend this for anyone who wants to have a sweet spoil and something warm to pair with it.
Really great chocolate cheese cake to satisfy anyone's sweet tooth. Had it with the cranberry juice an it was the perfect combination 👍 our waitress was also very helpful and informative.
I discovered Myatt six years ago and luv'd their macarons...went back this weekend and they're still really really good. Had the chocolate & peanut butter one and the plain chocolate...luv'd the peanut butter flavour.
If you have a never-satisfied sweet tooth, then this is the cafe for you. Their macarons, variety of teas and chocolates are deliciously sugary but also made with love and a long-lived tradition. It's a quiet spot found in the V&A and allows you to drift off after a manic day shopping. The best thing about Myatt is the choice. You can select different flavored macarons or truffle chocolates to suit your tastes. If you can handle it, its Myattcino is a rich, hot drink of sugary goodness: Belgium chocolate late with whipped cream on top. I haven't even tried their savory lunches yet!

I had "afternoon tea" here during my stay in CT and really enjoyed it. I tried some of their signature hot drinks and desserts and they were really yummy, major sugar over load afterwards so pace yourself! Staff were very sweet and attentive.
Everything about cafe Myatt is vibrant, delectable and irresistible. The quirky chairs and seating create a great atmosphere while the display of macaroons and chocolates entice your sweet tooth. We tried the smoothies but would love to indulge in some chocolates next time
Their food is full of flavour and I love the presentation. The roast chicken Tart, Chicken sandwich and the Chicken Salad are all great to order. Adore the selection of tea as well and the cups they serve in.
Perfect spot to meet up with clients and have a conversation over a delicious pot of tea and sweet treats. I had the Blue Horizon Green Tea with Macarons and a selection of their chocolate pieces. Would definitely recommend it for the sweet tooth.
Delicious and indulgent ❤️ best macarons ever! The setting is elegant and cosmopolitan and they have a wide variety of teas and chocolate truffles. The savoury food is nothing spectacular, but that's not what you go to Myatt for!
I have only ever been to Myatt's for coffee and macaroons. They are simply the best macaroons I have ever had, although they also run out so quickly so don't even bother looking at the macaroon menu, just ask for what is in stock.
I love the tea selection, but mostly I love the way it is served and venue itself. It could be totally average and I would still enjoy the atmosphere.

The layout of the place and lack of concierge makes it unclear to figure out who to go to so that you can be seated. I had the chicken salad and it took long to come but it was delicious. Definitely one of the better ones I've had. Also got 2 small chocs which were very pricey - R25 each. The macaroons are quite small. Forgot to take pics of the food sadly
Myatt café is the perfect place to go to for little "me time" and "tea time".
They have a wide range of tea types ranging from green to black to caffeinated to decaffeinated and much much more. Furthermore, to go with your tea they also offer a diverse dessert menu with mini cakes, macaroons and chocolate truffles. Finally (my favorite part), to top this little experience off they have stacks of the latest and best international fashion magazines.
So not only are paging through the trends of the world, you are sitting in a very classy café in the Waterfront and drinking tea from the most stunning tea sets.
I've been here many times with family, the service is always slow and the servers are inattentive. The food although well presented is bland and severely overpriced. Overall, a disappointing visit
I revisited recently and had their sliders which are yummy and their mousse. It was really good actually, I'm glad I returned.
Death by Myatt! Their macaroons are something I crave, I drive to the V&A for a takeaway box all too often. Their seating makes you feel like royalty and I love their cups and saucers. Perfect place for a high tea or a sweet treat with a good cup of coffee or try their selection of teas.
This is probably one of my favourite places to visit! It is almost impossible to not feel like royalty at The Myatt Cafe. The decor is chic sophistication meets a summers day and I have never seen a wait staff of so many beautiful women! I have tried almost every dessert on the menu and the hot chocolate is rich and creamy. Myatt is most famous for their macaroons and at R12 a pop, I promise they are worth it. If you're thinking of paying them a visit - be sure to try the banoffee pie, strawberry cheesecake and all of the macaroons, but most definitely the "choc cherry" macaroon- it will change your life! Be aware that the cafe does get very busy but you can always try an exotic chocolate at the chocolatier section while you wait!
I came here for a sweet treat, and I was not disappointed. I had a mix of macaroons and it was amazing. My girlfriend and I had some of the tea they have, and it was amazing.
A beautiful layout of the space. Great service, waitresses go beyond just a "hi" they engage. Great product knowledge and a wonderful selection of macaroons. I was really impressed with every element! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Their Chinese Show Tea and macaroons make a surprisingly good combination that is a refreshing change to the average tea and cake. However the service is poor even when they are not very busy.
They have the cutest little teapots and sweet treats to die for... Great spot to have a casual afternoon tea at with the girls - after all the shopping of course! Wink wink.
This is a really cool little spot to have a quick coffee and a snack between shopping. Had some of the macaroons and they rocked! The coffee is ok but the experience is worth it. Service superb and the presentation was quite funky. Would definitely recommend this spot and will be taking some macaroons home with me!
Awesome awesome awesome desserts!
There is something about Myatt which always makes me feel as if I am wrapped in luxury. Maybe it is because you feel as if you are sitting in a decorated box, like a princess in a carriage, mabye it is the comfortable soft seating (why do so many restaruants have austere hard uncomforatble chairs?), maybe the little plates and dainty cake stands, or maybe just the most delicious creamy rich hot chocolate you are likely to find in Cape Town. And no visit to the Waterfront is complete without sampling their macaroons. Rose is my favourite!
I love Myatt, they have the most amazing afternoon high tea. You get the widest selection of sweet treats and desserts under the sun.
The presentation of the tea is also really lovely. We experienced great service and the cafe is really modern and provides a wonderful escape from the business of the waterfront. I really love sitting back and enjoying my tea in a quiet and peaceful table just a layer of glass away from the busy hustle and bustle of the shoppers just outside.
Myatt also has a massive selection of macaroons, so make sure to try as many as possible, you won't regret it!
Absolutely splendid experience. The decor is fun and upmarket and the overall vibe is intimate and classy. Halaal and a huge variety on the menu to select from. I tried the muesli which was amazing and an apple and cinnamon croissant which tasted Devine. I could not finish my meals as the portions are generous. The waitress was kind and patient and the entire place really clean and orderly.
Great service and food quality and portions were better than expected after reading other reviews. Overall a really great experience.
Great, accommodating staff who provide excellent service. The food is divine and portion sizes aren't shy. Their milkshakes are heavenly. I absolutely love their morning flapjacks! Definitely worth every penny and I would go back again and again
Awesome service and delicious food.
Fully Halaal
Decent coffee selection, with beans supplied by Origin Coffee
Great place for a light meal, dessert (good variety of cakes and macaroons), coffee/tea. Good environment for audible conversation
Limited seating availability; book ahead for 6+ people
Expect above average prices given location
Service can be slow during busy periods
Beautiful cafe in the waterfront which is renowned for its macaroons. This place has a vast selection of teas and cakes too. Perfect place for an afternoon tea.
I bought the best chocolates I ever have had today. Must be a new supplier - absolute top !
The service could be faster and better ....
Had coffee and macaroons - both of which were very good, slightly pricey but wonderful. A good pit-stop after some shopping.
Great coffee and Tea, awesome service...
A lovely treat. Great tea selection and lovely chocolates and macarons. Pleasant and comfortable.
Good service, great coffee, a very tasty chocolate cake and fresh macaroons. I'm definitely going back to Myatts.
Delicious food. Outstanding service. Awesome setup. Perfect location. The lemonade was amazing
