Looking for the best shwarma's in town? def the place to come. We always do the laffa Sharma, the pic that was snapped is not the best but it's half of what you actually get. It's a 'do yourself' shwarma place and portion is fairly generous. Friendly staff, seating area abit chilli off season but there's a gas heater usually nearby. Great place

Had a late night meal at this outlet. Ordered the shawarma laffa which was enough for my partner and I to share. They truly are generous with their portions. Nice variety of add ons like pickles, onions, carrots etc. Tasty sauces as well. I was too hungry to take a picture of my meal.
I keep going back to sea point supposedly to see the sunset over the ocean, visit friends or run along the promenade... the real reason is that Iβm hoping to end up having another medium lamb shawarma here. It really is an incredible meal, nay, a culinary journey, a taste sensation, an indescribable joy every time I get my face into one of these bad boys!
Delicious falafel pitas, which also happen to be vegan. If you choose to sit down, they are served on a handy stand! Choose from a variety of fillings and sauces and complement with one of several delicious beers on tap. We like the outdoor informal seating and the fresh air. Super quick, super good. Best enjoyed in company.
After watching the sun set at the beach, we were hungry for some good food that wouldn't take too much time. At shawarma express we found exactly that! The seating outside is nothing fancy, with simple plastic tables and chairs - but when you've still got a bit of sand on your legs, it's a perfect place to grab a quick meal!
In the group of 4 , two got the meat schwarmas, 1 got a falafel and I decided to order the chicken schnitzel option for my pita.
It's an order and pay at the same time type of place and then you can choose your toppings and sauces. The eggplant was a little over salted though, but their tahina is amazing. They don't have the best or biggest variety of toppings compared to other places, but their schwarma meat is amazing. I stole quite few over flowing pieces from the boyfriend's pita and while my schnitzel was delicious and tender, there is no competition: the meat is the real winner here. Highly recommend ordered that.
So this happened to be the only place open on New years day at 4am in the morning after a big night out. Dario and I shared a shawarma with meat, hummus and onions with a side of chips. It did what it needed to do...and tasted delicious. And the portion size is huge! The food smells great and looks fresh. One of those 'dont judge a book by its cover' type places.
Great place for a quick bite! I had the medium shawarma stuffed with hummus, cucumbers, egg plant, onions, succulent lamb, grated carrots, and amazing garlic topping. ππ½ππ½ swift, affordable, and tasty!
Shawarma' are always tasty and the service is fast and friendly! Venue is not great for sit down and my beer was flat which was disappointing.
What counts for this semi street food venue? Fast, friendly service, affordable (cheap) prices, humungous portions (they really fill that little shwarma pouch until it bulges) and their late hours. Did mention that they serve beer? Reminds one of late night dining on the streets of Bangkok, Athens or Istanbul. What's there not to like?

The chicken schnitzel in pita was awesome and I've had the falafel and lamb before, which was equally good.
Their service is very quick and the Staff are amazingly friendly. It was nice that the chicken was also freshly fried and therefore not dry.
Over all, a really enjoyable experience with tasty food. Only downside is lack of parking and a rather tacky/dirty sit down area.

These guys had a food truck at the Wacky Wine festival.
My girlfriend and I had a beef shawarma each and it was so good that we went back for another as soon as we could fit one in. They make sure that the meat is evenly spread throughout and you don't end up with a bunch of veg at the very bottom. The meat was super tender and the veg/sauces were fresh and really good. Good variety too.
I'd go as far as to say that this was the best shawarma that I have ever eaten. 5 stars!
I visited Shawarma Express for the first time today. I ate the medium shawarma for R40. Fantastic value for money considering how fulling and delicious it was. Ingredients all fresh and full of flavour! I would also just like to complement the friendly staff. There was an exceptionally rude customer in front of me in the line and the gentleman on the lunch time shift (12:30 Sunday 15 Nov) handled her hostility with a smile and patience! I will definitely be visiting again

My favourite fast food joint in Cape Town. Excellent food, very friendly staff and amazing value. The vibe here created by the staff is also excellent. highly recommend. I come here at least once a vibe.

Seriously one of the best shawarmas I've ever had. And I've had literally hundreds (if not thousands).
This is the real deal, folks. It's as good as anything I've ever had in the Middle East. Perfectly seasoned shawarma meat (nice and crispy from the vertical rotisserie), an authentic spread of sauces and vegetables, and the right kind of pita pocket to hold it all together (though I wish they'd toast the bread just a tad longer).
I'd classify this as more of an Israeli/Jewish-style shawarma (big, thick, substantive, a base with lots of hummus and stuffed with plentiful veggies and a significant about of meat) vs the Arab/Lebanese-style (thinner, smaller, lighter)--and that's a good thing, as the best shawarmas I've had are ones I had in Israel (though Max's Deli in Wheaton, Maryland USA comes very, very close, but it's double the price of Shawarma Express).
If you crave shawarmas--and you do if you have any functioning taste buds--book a ticket to Cape Town and head straight here, no detours. Next time I come, I'm coming directly back here first--before I tackle Table Mountain, peruse the penguins at Boulder Beach, or sunbathe on Sunset Beach. And I'm not kidding about that. ;)
I freaking love the shawarmas here at Shawarma Express! Always fresh ingredients with perfectly done bread and an ice cold beer (of which they have a ton on tap) makes this a great place to grab a bite and watch Sea Point in all its randomness pass by.
The salad plate is huge, with a good selection of pickled veggies, simple chopped and shredded salad items and a generous helping of humus and tahina. My partner was very impressed with the freshness of the falafel balls and despite some overly burnt bits, my lamb was tender and tasty.
I eat here once a week. The friendly staff and outstanding fresh quality food keep me coming back. Great portion size for the price. You won't find a cheaper, healthier alternative.
Great food, had a laffa it was insane there falafel was made fresh to order great taste and had a boston larger craft beer an all around very good meal with friendly service.

The shawarma express in sea point has to be one of the best ones around. The staff are really friendly and the service is quick. I am really happy about how affordable their meals are and also how big the portion sizes are. If you ever need a quick meal thatβs filling and tasty I highly suggest checking them out. Delicious and quick swarmas. They even have it available without the pita bread so you can get more hummus and eggplant goodness. Also, their 'slap' chips are well worth it.
One of the best place for Shawarma in Sea Point. Hope they will open soon in a new place. Portions are very good served for a reasonable price.
