I visit this little spot every so often for their Sunday brunch and its definitely a favourite. They've been super consistent in terms of service and food. I particularly love their sweet options for brunch - found the savoury dishes a bit over salted/spiced and not as fascinating, but my partner differed in this opinion. Judge for yourself. They capture that American style brunch to perfection, but with a beautiful decor experience. Portions are large, be warned, but also go there hungry. Their pancake stack and waffles are the best you'll find in Cape Town.
What a lovely place, revealing surprises as you head through those pink doors. The meals were tasty and hearty, their brunch menu is divine.
I would give it 5 stars except for sound level which at times made conversation almost impossible but the good is stellar. We ordered everything on the menu and the 5 of us were impressed by every dish. The chef is from Brooklyn NY USA which is my home town. Mulberry and Prince is an intersection in Little Italy in NYC and I know it well. We live in San Francisco and this restaurant would be a hit there.
Went for their sunday brunch. Their food is amazeballs, hands down to their chicken and waffle (some even says it is far better than the ones from another restaurant on Regent Road). Watch out for the portion because they are way more than enough for your tummy, we cannot even finish the super light and fluffy pancakes. Love their mimosa. The service was friendly but do gradually get slower when customers start pouring into the restaurant.
Three of us had the chance to try the new menu of this 2017 eat out nominee. We were once again satisfied with the unique yet tastefull flavours and the elegent way in which these dishes are plated and served. These two chefs never fail to dissapoint and it is my privilege to dine at such a high standard restaurant - one that always impress! Congratulations on your 2017 eat out nomination- it is indeed well deserved.
Stunning space. Amazing staff. And the food is so delicious and such an experience. I was there for their American style breakfast, and it was delicious
A fantastic dining experience, delicious, beautifully presented and interesting plates of food, with both our wines being spectacular as well. Guaranteed stimulation for serious foodies. Simplicity brings out the best of the star ingredient. The beef tartare and the burrata cheese were our personal favourites. Very nice and warm welcome, one of the chefs offered to help with menu choices as well as serving and describing the dishes and the individual elements. Great service. Spacious and therefore private setting, leaving us free to enjoy ourselves for an entire evening outing. Not cheap but definitely worth every cent. Highly recommended. Thank you for being the highlight of our Cape Town visit!
If you are looking for an instagram worthy place, Mulberry & Prince is it. With a minimalist interior with obvious notes of millennial pink (a dream) and touches of beaten copper and rose gold it's a gem.
The food looks just as pretty as the interior and is worth every bite and penny. We had chicken and waffles with authentic hot sauce (not Tabasco) swag. If you have a sweet tooth try the cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting a melt in your mouth experience...
Mulberry & Prince give you actual crockery in pretty shades of pink. A great place to become a regular (if you have those kind of coins) with very friendly wait staff and owners.
Pay them a visit, truly worth it. 💗
Sunday Brunch Goals 🥂😻 A new offering at Mulberry & Prince is their scrumptious and generously served brunch menu! My friend and I shared the Toad in a Hole and Brioche French Toast (the best I've ever had 🤤) Absolutely delicious food, attentive service and beautiful decor make for the perfect Sunday treat!
We went for the first of their Sunday Brunches, and were greeted with a complimentary mimosa. The service was absolutely lovely, warm and gracious. I had the Toad In the Hole which was gorgeous, and my friend has the pancakes which were light and fluffy (and abundant!- definitely shareable).
The aesthetic is clean and calm, modern yet not to sharp. I look forward to returning for more!
The space is small and reservations are very important. We really enjoyed the food, the portions are generous and we enjoyed the drinks too. The space is small so it may feel loud but they can accommodate many people as they also have a bar area. Would recommend as an experience when in Cape Town.
I've never tasted a breakfast quite like this.
My avo on toast with salmon was on another level, I'm gluten intolerant, and the waitress suggested their hashbrowns, oh! what a well-balanced, scrumptious meal this was.
My husband enjoyed his full English breakfast 😋 and delicious coffee.
We like the interior and ambience.
It's definitely on our permanent breakfast spot list.
It's definitely worth a try.
Quaint place to visit with OUTSTANDING food.
Highly recommend the fried chicken and waffles. The food was so good we took leftovers home and ate them cold in our hotel. Worth it! 😂
The servers were extremely kind and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted. Can’t wait to visit again when we return to South Africa. This is now our favorite breakfast spot there.
I've been waiting and wanting to go to this restaurant for breakfast. Heard and read so many great reviews, and they were definitely spot on. It met all my expectations. Loved it! We were welcomed kindly, seated and introduced to our waitress, Jennifer, who was absolutely delightful. She was on top of everything, and really cool. I had a mango mimosa for the first time and was really good. We waited a bit for our food but it was DEFINITELY worth the wait. Tried the most popular dishes on their menu and I know why these are so popular. The portions were so big - real value for money.
Literally the best avocado 🥑 toast I’ve ever had and best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had as well. Went here for brunch with a friend and left incredibly satisfied. Their food is bursting with flavor. Highly recommend. I’ll be back!!
A Must-Try Breakfast Spot in Cape Town!
Mulberry & Prince is a must-visit breakfast spot in Cape Town. My recent experience there was nothing short of exceptional. The blueberry pancake was incredibly fluffy and bursting with fresh sweetness, while the "Eggs Your Way" dish impressed with perfectly cooked eggs and delectably tasty hash potatoes. With numerous breakfast options in Cape Town, Mulberry & Prince stands out as a must-try destination. The impeccable service, cozy ambiance, and delicious food make it a memorable dining experience that should not be missed.
Mulberry & Prince has truly found a way to become a breakfast bastion in Cape Town, and rightly so.
It’s as great as pictures and articles tout.
To be sure, it’s an aesthetic haven for the visually-minded foodies and photo-takers ready to capture their next great Instagram post.
Specializing in American-style breakfast and brunch cuisine, the menu reads as a concise, curated collection of plates per dietary requirement.
I tried both the Shally’s Pancakes, as well as the Avo on Toast, and while not groundbreaking brunch menu options, these vegetarian dishes were made quite different to the norm – and my tummy and tastebuds were better for it.
As a lover of leftovers, let me just state that the pancakes are lovely even when reheated the next day at home.
Mulberry & Prince understands the deep and abiding devotion to coffee, that Capetonians have. Their coffees (from Cortados to Americanos) are made with beans sourced from the famed coffee bean roastmasters brand ‘Rosetta Roastery’.
Have been here twice already with plans for more visits. This was the first restaurant me and my dad tried in Cape Town and it was picture perfect. The staff is superb, so so friendly. The space is very aesthetically nice and clean, and the good food and drinks seal the deal. Easy 5 stars. Recommend their polenta porridge and their avocado toast but can’t go wrong with anything off the menu.
Love this spot — comfort food brunch done exceptionally well. I went on a Sunday and even though I didn't have reservations they found me a table outside, which was perfect for their Sencha tea, and eggs benny.
Brilliant vibey spot for breakfast and brunch. Must book as it gets busy! Great service, generous portions and delicious food! Come hungry 😉 must try items are the berry pancakes with maple syrup butter and the truffled scrambled eggs with burrata.
