Review Dapper Coffee Co - Cape Town Central

The best coffee. The 👏 best 👏 coffee👏. All of us were in from all over the world, and it’s very rare to have coffee as good as this consistently. Honestly. Beautifully made every time. The omelette was also one of the best I’d ever had. The consistency of the egg wasn’t perfect but the flavours were unreal! I had the mushroom, bacon and cheese and from my first bite i was so surprised! The atmosphere is really cool with the cars, making for an experience unlike anywhere else. Let them know if you’re in a rush in any way and they will accommodate. They are not stressed and have such a chill vibe so if you’re a little high strung you might feel frustrated with the relaxed service. I personally loved it! Go there. Do it!

If you love vintage cars and good coffee, dappers is The Place to visit in Cape town. They have great coffee, fresh juices, quality food and even better.... EXCELLENT SERVICE! They have occasional offers through the best booking app in Cape town, FEASTFOX. The offer is a 15% off the total bill.... just perfect!

This restaurant has the most authentic theme, Cars. vintage new and all in a good condition. Even though there are so many cars there is not even a smell of gasoline, oil or polish. The coffee is off the charts with the pure and excellent taste, the breakfast is to shout from the rooftops that is how good it really is. Then on the first Thursday night of every month they are open as most of the other pubs on that night, Dapper Coffee Co just has that special something extra that keeps on getting the crowd there. I can recommend them to anyone. Good vibes, great food and better service, a hell of a combination.

Really awesome coffee! The setting is great too, it's in the centre of town and the restaurant itself is coupled with the vintage car shop, the cars are amazing, everything from vintage Porsche's to Ferrari's. Didn't have food as the kitchen was closed but what I saw looked pretty good.

If you want to sit amongst Cape Town's finest cars over a coffee or meal, then CLUB 9 in Cape Town is where you need to be. Sitting and viewing your most omnipotent and exclusive cars just takes your breath away, this venue is ideal for the car enthusiasts, to wine and dine, to relax or simply to explore these cars. I. Had an awesome time, being late, I thought I wasn't going to make it in time, but the manager was sooooo friendly and allowed me to come in after hours just to explore my very favorite - Mercedes Benz! 💓😁💓

Needed a cup of coffee and a place to sit early on a wet morning. Dapper Coffee was the right place at the right time. Very limited seating but an absolute unpretentious gem. Lovely vibe and excellent coffee.

Dapper coffee is pricey but superb. It's part of the Club 9 classic car dealership, so it is heaven on earth for car enthusiasts who love good coffee. In a buzzing part of town on the trendy Breë Street.

Good spot for coffee, but quite cold in the winter ❄️ It’s a unique spot with vintage cars you can wander around and check out. Good space to work, and the service was attentive. Just remember a jacket or two if it’s cold out!

This place is awesome, inside a very cool car show room. The staff are really friendly & polite. Great coffee & lovely brunch options.

Great coffee. The classic cars in the back are a bonus and sitting outside having your cup of coffee does the trick!

The Salmon Eggs Benedict was amazing. The cafe mocha was good too. Service was good, the atmosphere is great. Its definitely one of my favourite breakfasts, can't wait to go back!

Cute little coffee shop. I had a flat white and it was delicious!!!!!

Only problem...the service is crap. I had to ask to be served at least 3 times...Not cool!
Eleanora Bresler
The BEST coffee in Cape Town! I would have given Dapper a 5 for this but the service was not great. A little slow and incorrectly rung up. Meals are pricey.

Had the Red Juice which is a burst of rich flavours, with the ginger giving it an amazing extra kick. Unfortunately, we got there 7 minutes after their kitchen closed so I had a delicious slice of cheese cake to go.

After walking past and seeing all the stylish vintage cars my family and I decided to visit for breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Not too busy so easy to find a table. Order at the counter and they will bring food out.

The cappuccino I had is probably one of the best I have had in Cape Town, blew me away. I also really enjoyed my eggs benedict, really nice tangy hollandaise and eggs cooked well. The kids shared some scrambled eggs and toast, it was gobbled down quickly. My wife had the super food breakfast bowl, she enjoyed it but it wasn’t scrapped clean, her red latte got a big thumbs up.

Overall nice place to go to have some delicious coffee and breakfast, plus it is always awesome to check out some cool cars.

Beautiful old vintage cars on display , which sets Dapper apart from any other restaurant in Cape Town . The food is pretty good but I definitely think the cars are the main attraction.

Such a cool and unique setting! Really enjoyed the tacos, and the coffee was great. Slightly on the pricey side, but well worth it for the setting and location.

One of those places that have no concept of time. And you’d think being in the CBD, they would cater for office workers in the vicinity that would like to stop for a fairly quick lunch during their lunch break. Nope, not at all. It’s more of a cafe for hipsters sitting on their latest MacBook, with nowhere else to be, and who don’t mind waiting for an eternity for an overpriced dish.

Ordered the super salad with chicken for a whole 130 rands and 50 cents! Waited more than 30 minutes for this salad (with no waiter coming by my table to check up on me or inform me of the delay). Eventually had to ask for it to be placed into a takeaway so that I could eat it at my desk.

Was it tasty? Yes. Was it a big portion? Yes. Was it worth the price and eternal wait - goodness no!

Was really impressed with the service and the Quality of the food. Definitely my go to place for a fantastic coffee. Had the eggs Benedict, fresh as can be with your taste buds left wanting more.

Well now I know . Went for a quick bite but was really hungry, found out the omelette doesn't come with toast so ordered the benedict which had more white on the plate than food. I'm really disappointed in this. Completely over priced for a small thing. If it was worth it fine but it wasn't .
Otherwise:
Lovely vintage/classy cars to browse and take pictures with
Retro, modern and elegant is the perfect three adjectives that would describe this place, open early in the morning till mid afternoon serving amazing coffee and some of the best in the city. We had a red cappuccino and Americano both well made and delicious in flavors. The Americano for me, was not too acidic, but a had a perfect balance of flavors and I’d recommend it.
The venue is also very cool with cars found all over the shop ranging of vintage to modern cars which add to the vibe and feel of the place. It’s honestly such an amazing coffee shop and no words can describe it. Our rating: amazing

Visited Dapper for the first time this past weekend, however it dis not live up to expectations. The concept and space sure is unique however the food was okay but the service not good. We had to ask for our table to be wiped clean and waited a while for a waiter even though it was not that busy. Did enjoy the coffee.
Giorea1984
Beautiful concept, a coffee shop surrounded but vintage muscle cars. Food is good, service attentive and coffee can be easily included in my best coffee list

Loved this quaint store with all the antique cars around!! Staff were super friendly!! Limited seating but we were accommodated easily. Came for breakfast and was totally surprised with the quality of food and service. Tried their chocolate croissant, mocha, cappuccino, the dapper bennedict and creamy mushroom replacing the sour dough bread with brioche!! Everything was too notch and we were left full to the brim!! Shall be back and recommend to others!
Chelyn De Graaf
Might just honestly be the best coffee in Cape Town ... the blend they came up with makes my knees weak !!🙏🏻😋 added with a a yummy chocolate treat (my choice) ssssshhhhhh. or any other dessert is heaven!! With sexy cars in arms reach... this place will get anybody's engines revving!! 😂👌🏻 different and a winner for sure!!

We came back for breakfast and it was nice but not really something I’d repeat. The berry brioche was basically the top of a bun and not particularly nice bread. My eggs benedict had good flavours but it was so rich and could have done with some more greens.

My brother loves to work at Dapper and i can see why. Love the beautiful old cars and the look and feel of the restaurant. The coffees are served on these cool wooden trays with pottery mugs. The food is quite expensive but judging by the number of people in the restaurant and how quickly they all polished off their meals I would guess its worth the money. Lots of carbs and cheese and generally yum things. I'd definitely come back for breakfast, look like they have great options.

My favorite spot in Cape Town. the vibe is always good. Great working environment and all the staff are friendly. I pretty much live at Dapper ;)

I came here early one Friday morning for a cuppa, and was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of the restaurant.

The flat white came on a little wooden tray in a trendy cup. The espresso shot was well pulled and fresh, with a thick crema. The microfoam content to steamed milk ratio was fine and the temperature was appropriate.

The service was good and the the staff were friendly.

The decor and ambience is really interesting. It sort of feels like you're in a parking garage surrounded by beautiful vintage cars.

Gorgeous plates:
The smoked trout on rye with fragile beets and fennel ribbons. Maple pancakes celebrated with blueberries, gooseberries and strawberries.

Aromatic coffee, and the glimmer of old fashioned cars, a pleasant atmosphere, and contemporary health trends - thank you!
John Schippers
One of the best coffee spots in the CBD. When you step in, it feels like you've traveled back in time to where everything was about quality. The environment makes you think you are in a 007 movie. It is not only the coffee, but also the cars and the service that will keep me coming back for more.
Robyn Rainier
Such a chic, chilled vibe at this place! The service was friendly and very efficient and the menu has some nice options to pick from. I had the salmon Benedict while the other friends enjoyed a bacon and cheese croissant and a Benedict with bacon. The presentation is lovely when the food arrives and very tasty. The sourdough was toasted a little too long so it was a bit chewy to eat and it felt like the salmon was a little skimp for the price that I was paying but nonetheless tasty. The showroom floor definitely adds a little something to the whole experience!

Very cool setup for First Thursday. Efficient bar service, amazing DJ set, and those cars on show... Beautiful. Would be very keen to check it out during the day for coffee or a bite to eat. Impressed!
Marcus Christiansen
Dapper is on the upper scale of "Wow! This place is expensive!", and possibly a little too much for what you're getting. Cuisine-wise, there are absolutely no complaints. I really enjoyed the tacos I had. The service on the other hand is a little slow so don't come here if you're in a rush. For what you're paying, it's not good enough.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast on the go. Turns out there was nothing quick about this breakfast... as I waited over 20min for someone to finally take my order. And no it was not full. Once my breakfast (croissant with egg and bacon, I added cheese and tomato) arrived with my cappuccino, I asked for some tobacco and Worcester sauce, but unfortunately they did not have the later. The breakfast was average rating a 5/10 with the croissant being far too oily. The cappuccino however was the highlight of the visit and Dappers saving grace scoring a significant 9/10!

Overall I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you wanna grab a quick coffee :)

Enjoy guys!

Such a great spot - love the cars, the environment and the vibe. Service with a smile and delicious food. I had the Eggs Benedict - great! - and my friend had the Breakfast Bowl which she loved. The coffee is really good and served beautifully. Highly recommended!!

Another very cool coffee shop. And if you enjoy and appreciate cars as much as I do, or a good well made coffee, then this is a place to visit asap! Great service and outstanding coffee. All beautifully presented on a wooden board. The barista consistently makes good americano, with a good crema on top. I enjoy sitting here, sipping away my coffee, while overlooking some classic investment cars.
Calvin Van Rooyen
Had an amazing experience at this place, rustic look, and showroom of Classic, beautiful cars adds to it's character.. very Dapper indeed. Coffee was amazing, and having a Portuguese father-in-law, the pasteis de nata was really good, nice fluffy pastry, though his is better. Would definitely go back, great vibe.
Brian
Very cool spot for a breakfast, all still quite new I guess, staff very willing, however probably lack a bit of training, had to request all the usual condiments (salt, pepper, tobasco, chutney) after breakfast arrived. Fortunately it was quiet, think that if they got busy it would be a real spin city session. Like I said the team is willing and there are some great old lady's (car's) to look at. Definitely will return and I am sure the team will gain experience the busier they will get.

I’m a weird girl. I like pretty cars. I’m more likely to uhh and ahh at a nice car driving by than anything else. I’m also likely to uhh and ahh at a pretty dish I see – in a restaurant, online, as a take-away … It’s like my eyes are constantly searching for pretty cars and pretty food. See why I say I’m weird? But it seems I’m not the only one as the whole food and car combination is becoming pretty popular. The latest and probably coolest addition to the food and car scene is Dapper, the awesome new spot at the bottom of Bree Street.

Any guys dream with old cars in a coffee shop! Best of both, i'd say! Great coffee, nice food and an ambiance that does good in a mans world. Tacos are a nice light lunch option, the open sandwich is devine and the flapjacks are massive!

Coffee and cars, pretty much a guys dream afternoon. Dapper coffee is a coffee shop in a car showroom with some pretty cool vintage classics and showy supercars. My boyfriend dragged me here and well, I'm sure I'll be back.

The coffee and service was excellent though. I had a mocha and it was really tasty. Enough chocolate to warm up my insides, enough coffee for a caffeine kick. The coffee shop area is simplistic and neat and the kitchen appeared super clean from the counter.

The car area is a bit cramped in terms of the space in between the cars available to walk around. Be careful with your coffee. Free wifi adds the cherry on top.

This rating is a rather confused one. The decor of this place is amazing but somehow their food falls short of the decor. I was really fascinated by their use of hats as lamp shades and upside down umbrellas. Although our waiter was just as amazing as the decor, I will go back, however I doubt I'll order a burger again. Not the best that I've eaten.

Loved this little spot in the cbd! The vibe is so friendly and the vintage cars are to die for. The cappuccino was delicious (so much so that I had two cups) ! The croissants were fresh as well. Next time I'm trying the flap jacks though- they come highly recommended.

I love this place! Had coffee early on saturday morning. The flapjacks are what im going to keep coming back for. Great coffee. Love the vintage cars around me and love the vibe it has to it
Johnelle Olivier
Awesome setting. Best carrot cake I've had in ages! Selection of cakes a little limited and coffee cups can be a little bit bigger, especially on a cold winter morning. Next time I will definitely try the breakfast. It looked yummy!
Katrina Arends
The best of the best breakfast place in the CBD of Cape Town. To sit amongst these vintage cars and bikes and sipping on your coffee and sumptuous breakfast is a crazy experience
Shae Leigh
This is an amazing trendy spot complete with show cars and buzzing with the street-side electricity. The coffee wasn't as amazing as I was told it was but not horrible by any means. The friendly barista and awesome atmosphere made up for it.

1st Thursdays at this vibey and cool Café was fab! The burger, with no bun, was fanTASTIC! It is pricey but delish! We sat at the counter, inside looking out to Bree street, what a prime seat! The coffee is out of this world, service magic and presentation on a different level! Will be back soon!

Great food, good presentation, had breakfast and lunch there on more than one occasion, very satisfied.
I m just disappointed about the cost of the coffee,R 28 rand for a small cappuccino, that's a bit much, or is it the going rate for a good coffee these days???
Iman Bawa
I've been wanting to try this place for a while and today I finally got around to it. Went for breakfast with a friend, we both had the eggs Benedict with salmon, and absolutely loved it. The coffee tasted good but was a bit thin and the beetroot juice was a bit over powering but I'm just nit picking now. I love the effect of the vintage cars it gives a unique atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

This evening 11 of us all chose to have dinner here on First Thursdays. The vibe was enjoyable and vibrant; the burgers (most of us had the cheese and bacon burger) were over priced considering that they were average (consider the choices of burgers in Cape Town). What let it down most was not the extremely apathetic service and warm beer, rather something far more encumbering, an aggressive attitude of management that neither myself nor my friends have ever experienced locally or abroad.

It took forever to get the bill paid as we waited patiently for the card machine, thereafter the wait continued as money seemed outstanding. It turns out the waitress added things onto our bill that we hadn't had. The issue got heated when the manageress told us that we were making things tough for her (as we were taking too long as she didn't have the time), belligerently demanding us to just pay up more and move on. She was patronizing, passive aggressive and exceptionally argumentative, blaming us for her restaurant's bad error! When tackled about her rude attitude and eye rolling she quipped back that she wasn't rolling her eyes but that we would certainly know about it if she chose to do that. No apologies were made considering rudeness and her restaurant's complete incompetence.

None of us will ever step foot in that place again! Average food, bad service and vitriolic senior management mean one thing - stay away!
Nicole Vrede
I really enjoyed this lunch spot!

I love that you can sit by the windows and watch the day to day hassle of the city.

The fresh juices are awesome, I hate when 1 ingredient is over powering, so this one was balanced well.

The bun less burger with bbq sauce and tatsiki was amaze! The burger was tasty and the highlight of the dish, not to mention that I could have licked my plate with that delicious BBQ sauce!

I can't wait to go back.

Very cool, unique spot. We stumbled upon it this afternoon as we needed a midweek catch up. My friend and I had some lovely bubbles 💕 the Secret Cellar Brut. The service was friendly and quick. Looking forward to trying out their breakfast and coffee on my next visit.
Debi Malherbe
Very unique concept. The coffee was fantastic. The breakfast however was rather over priced. 2 slices of French toast with honey - no bacon etc - a whopping R81. The pork loin on brioche is a very small portion and is more like a think cut of bacon. I do however enjoy the build your own breakfast concept.
Michelle
What a great spot, especially if you're into cars.
I happened to be walking past and was mesmerised by the gorgeous cars, then I saw the have a little cafe inside so I just had to stop for a coffee.
Delicious coffee, beautiful cars. Great spot!
Inge Wessels
Fantastic place guys! Brought my dad for breakfast, he was like a kid in a toy shop with all the cars around him.
Service was great and the food was uncomplicated and great!
Will be back!
Ramsay Daly
Cool concept. Good coffee. Average service and tasteless oily eggs. If you need to kill some time and work here then it's great but I wouldn't eat here again.
Tiyaarah Cloete
Such a cool concept. Popped in after seeing the reviews. The venue is really laid back, it's awesome sitting amongst all these cars people seem to be really taken by it. Just had a little bite as I had eaten earlier but it was pretty good. The green juice is lovely (needed to clean the system)...

Someone recommended this hidden gem to me recently. I always drove straight past it thinking it was a car showroom. Today I stopped by and was in awe at the beautiful decor (cars) and the amazing service and friendly waiters. I couldn't think of anything better than to enjoy my two favourite things at once, cars and coffee. I will be back to try their food as the meals looked amazing!

Fabulous little eatery serving breakfasts & lunches in a vintage car showroom. So unique and utterly titillating! Enjoy the first class coffee and a build-it-yourself breakfast. Eggs to order on a variety of delicious breads. I especially savoured the black mushrooms lightly seasoned with lemon zest. The lovingly cared for vintage vehicles are a show stopper and are much revered and admired. Excellent!
Phillip Black
I have eaten here 3 or 4 times. Loved it. Not really into cars but a cool concept. You can have a coffee and add a sports car to the bill, so I did! 😜
They do tribe coffee which is pretty good. I have had the breakfast special, pork and egg bun and the chicken baguette for lunch...all pretty delicious I must say. I would definitely recommend a visit. Even though I am more of an A to B car guy, I still enjoyed checking them all out, and sitting amongst cars I will never afford has a surprisingly good feeling attached to it. I took a boat (car) load of photos so enjoy...pics finally uploading. I was having issues. :(

If you walk or drive past Dapper in Bree Street, you’ll most likely look twice, and even with a single glance, you are surely to remember the place. There are a gazillion new kids on the block these days, but Dapper Coffee Co., as it is fully named, is not just a coffee and breakfast/lunch place, it is also a showroom of luxury cars. So while you have a chance to drool staring at a vintage Ferrari or classic Porsche, you might as well grab a seat and order some food in the process.

Smart move, Dapper, although there is plenty to enjoy for those who are not into car porn. As the name suggests, the coffee place is definitely about show, but it also has plenty of substance. The modern wooden bar, the open plan interior and handy outside seating area all look pretty slick, and the menu offers great original dishes with fresh produce alongside their good selection of coffee.

I had a breakfast there this morning, and decided to sit outside at the bar. It was a late morning, so I could use a fulfilling meal. With my cappuccino I decided to order the Tuscan Baked Eggs, Tomato Fondue and Sourdough Toast. Little did I know I was in for such a treat. Served in a little pan, the dish was gorgeous for the eye, but even more kind to the taste buds. Absolutely wonderful. Take that English Breakfast!

Now that I had a teaser of Dapper’s quality food, my appetite for a return visit is definitely sparked. So while I might not be all things car, I’ll happily have a pit stop at this new hot and happening on the corner of Strand and Bree. I suggest you do too.

The ambience is excellent. The decor and vintage cars make this coffee shop something different. The menu has a good variety. The coffee is excellent. We had the salmon trout on rye and it was really good. It had interesting flavours. The carrot cake was moist and very delicious. The service was also good.

Came across this beautiful spot while doing some errands and what a stunning place. Very newly opened and I can tell it's going to be a great hit. The little restaurant is surround by vintage Porsches and it's so awesome. The coffee was Amazing and oh my such delicious fresh apple juice. I opted for the DIY breakfast and it was all very fresh and delicious.
