I had a very special Birthday lunch on Friday. Natasha assisted us perfectly & the food was delicious. Your cheesecake is to die for & I don't say that easily!!
Thank you for opening early for the Cape Town Marathon. We enjoyed the coffee, breakfast and had lots of fun cheering the runners...always great service which we appreciate!
Service and food was superb! Reasonably priced and a great location! We will be back :)
Michael's is an amazing place to be, whether it's for business or pleasure. Amazing burgers. Best service delivery. I love it.
Love the friendly staff and great coffee!
The service is exceptional and good amazing. Will definitely be back :)
I need to come in and have loads of those brilliant chilli poppers!!!
Michaels is the best place ever! The food and people are incredible, a great place to stop off for breakfast on a Saturday morning or to grab a bite in the evening. This is a must try!
I just have to say that your staff are amazing. The extra things I saw them do while serving us was really impressive. They take there job really serious and made for such a pleasant experience. Thank you
Awesome venue. Food is great and the service is impeccable. Staff are very friendly. The minute you enter the door you are attended to. The vibe is great as it's fairly busy in the week during the lunch period.
My friends and I are Michael’s regulars on a Sunday morning. Very nice spot, with decent service and a very nice menu. The fries are always delicious and they have a great selection of warm beverages and deserts/confectioneries for coffee dates.
Finally tried this place and I liked it! I don't mind coming here for drinks and dates. The alfredo is superb suggest anyone to try it out. The location it's also great for it's not that busy unless it's a school day cause the high schoolers do go there too. I'd like to try it at night that's for sure.
The staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly. However, I specially made sure to ask them to make sure the omelette isn't gooey inside, and alas it was. If you think it's impossible for a omelette to be cooked on both sides, I assure you, it is possible as I've eaten and made many.
The eggs Benedict was apparently very good however and I can't complain about the coffee. Nothing really wowed me here.
Recently tried Michael's out for breakfast. At first things seemed a bit pricey but portion sizes made it worthwhile. Service was efficient and friendly. Definitely made my list of top 10 breakfast spots.
The service was great! We had a friendly waitress Asanda. The pizzas we ordered were tasty. I will definitely be returning for the pulled pork pizza😁. Unfortunately ordered a Frankie's soda with a January 2016 expiry date. However, I ordered a different drink with no issues. I will definitely be returning.
Lovely place for breakfast especially after a nice run or cycle. Welcoming team and good service. Satisfying breakfast options. Their coffee is also good. Recommended if you live in the neighborhood.

Signature burgers, decadent milkshakes and delicious smoothies. Busy but relaxed setting, with excellent service and friendly staff. A favourite in the southern suburbs
Dropped my daughter off for work. Fresh looking place with friendly staff. Chips good portion and good selection of drinks. Large selection on menu plus specials board.
Very casual place, lovely vibe and always good food. The food and service is great and there is a variety of different food on the menu which all taste amazing as far as I've had. Good experience
I love Michaels. It's such a chilled restaurant. I get takeaways from here a lot. They have a pizza that's a favourite in my household - the fig and Brie pizza. It doesn't have a tomato base - instead it has a creme fraiche one. Really different, and I have not found something else like it anywhere else. The service is always good and it's never too full. It's a good, chilled space. I would recommend.
Fabulous relaxed restaurant in suburbia that's very popular with the locals! Food and service are noteworthy but it can get very noisy so don't take a new date there if it's a busy night!
I love Michael's! It's warm, friendly and inviting - and the staff always go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The food is always great and served with a smile, and they're very accommodating with special requests. I've tried quite a few of their menu offerings, including a few of their breakfasts, and, honestly, I've never been disappointed. It's now my go-to restaurant!
This must be a perfect place to go in winter. If you're always cold like me, you can even sit on the couches by the fire and have your dinner. The pizza was delicious followed by cheesecake that all hit the spot. The ambiance is ideal to sip on a glass of wine and enjoy your evening.
I've had lots of take-away coffees and juoces from.Michaels, today I had mu first meal. Service has always been friendly and attentive and I love the feel of the restaurant. The chicken strips I ordered were tasty, but not my style. I would have preferred more chicken amd fewer crumbs. The side sald had a tasty dressing. Look forward to trying out more of the menu, hopefullt as a sit-down diner
Tried this restaurant out for breakfast one Saturday morning and boy was it buzzing. It fills up quite quickly but the service is still really good! The food was quite nice, I feel like breakfast alone is not very reflective of a restaurant's food as it is a simple meal. But all-in-all I loved the cozy atmosphere with the buzz of tables nearby. Would love to try their other meals!
Always driving past Michael's so tonight we decided to try it out. The menu offers a variety of foods so you are really spoilt for choice. I had the chicken strips with "posh" chips (truffle oil and parmesan) so delicious! Sashen had the chicken Prego burger with sweet potato chips which he thoroughly enjoyed. We had good service and a friendly waiter. The restaurant has a nice feel to it, cosy with a slight buzz which I liked. The highlight was definitely the posh chips. Looking forward to trying out their pizza's on my next visit.
I have been to Michael's for breakfast multiple times and every time it has been a very rewarding experience. Michael's is a very easy going and relaxing restaurant, which is ideal for a lazy Sunday morning breakfast. My standard meal is the Mexican omelette which is characterized by its generous portion size and excellent flavour. I would highly recommend it. I really enjoy this restaurant and undoubtedly will be back soon in the foreseeable future,
Great milkshakes, mushrooms, and service. Family restaurant with a sophisticated but welcoming feel to it. Awesome and polite staff willing to go the extra mile to please the customer.
Super service and what a clean place. Love that they offer Banting options and lovely cocktails! Will come back over and over and wish we had such a "local" in our hood!
What a great experience! Just had lunch and I'm liking the new change in this restaurant! The menu has a great and wide selection so I always like to have a range of choices.
I ended up having a focaccioa which was extremely tasty and satisfying. Pork wrap was also good which my sister had. Service was speedy and friendly. Will definitely be back!
Also, just a thought, if Michael's did decide to do home delivery I'm sure lots of people would order from here all the time-me included, even though I live in Newlands! It would be epic :)
What a great change! We've watched michael's change hands many times over the years and the addition of a bar and new menu is inspired. The food is delicious and it's usually full and bustling as well as warm and cozy. I'd really recommend this little restaurant to anyone in the rondebosch area :)
A lovely breakfast spot in Rondebosch: Michael's is always buzzing during breakfast times, in both Winter and Summer. I especially love that they have a "wintery" section with leather couches arranged around a cosy jetmaster fireplace. The service is attentive and I have never waited very long for the food to arrive - which is important for the first meal of the day! Their menu offers the largest breakfast variety that I have come across (including allowing you to make up your own breakfast - nice!), but do yourself a favour and try out the eggs Benedict :)
Super relaxed environment with great food to go with it! Had bacon banana feta avo pizza was amazing. Have couches in front of fire place. Cheesecake also really good. Winner winner
Really great place - well priced and epic burgers! Let down by poor service at times.
Has come a long way over the years and definitely recommend giving it a try
I've wanted to check out Michael's for months now... we finally had a moment to visit them on Friday and it was comfortable, warm, friendly and all the food we saw coming out of the kitchen looked GOOD!
We just had a few drinks after work and a banting cheesecake to takeaway and can confirm that the drinks are affordable, the service is great and the cheesecake is delicious.
We will be back for burgers and beers soon. It's great to have another winner spot in the area.
Very impressive first visit to this institution as I travel frequently to CT lately. My guest had the veggie camenbert burger which was attractively presented and met with high praise. My order of salmon and grated butternut was also delicious. All completed by friendly and attentive service.
We popped in here for a quick supper his week.
It was buzzing inside and we had a fairly good meal. It's a very simple old school menu so perfect if you are in the mood for an old school classic. Pretty limited range of pizzas but my margarita was good. Mark had the ribs and calamari combo - both cooked very well and tasty! Ribs were super tender and so was the calamari. Chips were store bought and not great but the side salad was delicious.
Good selection of wine by the glass.
A lovely setting. Formal but also very relaxed. Perfect for any occasion. Food is great and so is the coffee. Was a bit disappointed with the service. Left my table alone for a good hour before asking if we want the bill and then that was a long process.
A place you can call home. The service is top notch and the food is not too shabby at all. Will definitely make this a regular hang out for the family.
Came here today for a take away and ended up changing it to a sit down. The service was excellent and so welcoming that I felt like a regular! Had a tramezzini and a lovely coffee. I now understand why it's so popular!

What a delightful surprise! Lovely, cosy eatery with EXCELLENT food and prices. Every element of the meal added value to the dish: crisp salad, 1st rate fries, but especially their house mushroom sauce, which has some special ingredient I'm sure. The meat was done to a standard now sadly lacking in many Cape Town restaurants. Though well positioned on a busy road, we were misled by the view from without for as long as I can remember, but now Michael's is a firm favourite for us! Kudos to the owners, chef and conscientious staff, led by their energetic manageress. Wonderful decor and ambience too!
We had a very pleasant experience at Michael's. The decor was very well done. Our drinks took a long time to come, but the service was good and the cream that my friend ordered with coffeee was very fresh. I don't eat bacon, so I was dissapointed when the waitress told me that the salmon was out of stock. I ordered the design-your-own-breakfast and had an omlette with cheese, mushroom and avo. It was a very big portion and good value for money. The cheese was not melted, so I sent it back and I got my food back very quickly with a clean set of cutlery, so I was impressed. Our waitress was generally very friendly and efficient.
Had a really nice lunch at Michael's this afternoon. I had the BBC burger but replaced the blue cheese with cheddar.
All 4 of our meals were really good. Service was decent.
Well definitely return, probably not at 2pm on a Sunday though as they were starting to close up.
I don't how to rate the level of their toast, eggs beacon makes me drool before I dig In , Michael's Kitchen & bar is eco Friendly.
If you never been there I suggest you you book for a nice experience
No frills breakfast menu offering morning favourites. Great service from the staff - thank you, Percy. Just a little bit chilly on a colder Winter morning but that can be addressed with a change of table further down in the back.
Wow. My favorite spot after school is still producing good food. We stopped in to get a burger on our way home and it was delicious. There was lots on the plate, almost too much to finish, not complaining though. (The price is a bit more than normal but you the amount of food makes up for it as well as the quality of food.) I was happy that when asking for water they they brought us a jug. The service was fast and the staff were friendly. The bathrooms are clean and well decorated. This was a wonderful experience, I will be back soon.
Convenient location with a free parking lot across the street. It's often busy, so it's recommended that you book ahead during busy times to ensure that you get a table. Breakfasts are very good and the carrot cake a highlight. Coffee very decent as well. Popular spot for runners and cyclists to enjoy breakfast after a morning run or cycle, and due to the convenient parking. Outside and inside seating available.
We had their burgers. Tasted great and good quality chips. The mushroom sauce was delicious and will definitely be going back to try out the rest of their menu.
Such a warm and friendly place with wonderful staff ready & willing to be of service.
Great place to also come and work for a meeting with free WiFi as a tremendous help.
Michaels is just up the road from where I live so it's always my to go place to get a coffee or a pizza (which are really good, by the way..... thin, crispy crusts and very tasty). They have the friendliest security guard who always ask how I am. And super nice staff. Inside...... very"rustig" atmosphere.
After having come from a wet and windy hike up Devil's Peak, we went to Michael's and it was warm, service was great, having asked for a table of eight in the busy restaurant, the waiters managed to get a table up in no time. We enjoyed lovely service and my friends and I enjoyed our time there. Top quality food.
Today, I had a coffee meeting at Michaels in Rondebosch, Cape Town, which I had thought was just a restaurant that’s open at night. To my surprise, it’s a beautiful deli, which serves really great oat milk coffee, and I did notice some scrumptious-looking gluten-free options on the menu. I loved the service, and I appreciated that there was enough parking around the area, and the establishment is just really easy to get to.
What really stood out for me, from my experience at Michaels, was the way that the restaurant supports their staff. One of their staff members has a little section on Michael’s deli shelf, selling products from a 9-year-old girl making doorstops – incredibly beautiful door stops, and I bought two! The 9-year-old is raising funds to support her sister, who is not in South Africa. The full story is right by the shelf, and its an incredible show of community support. Michaels could have just thought of themselves, especially during this time, but they chose to be better and more positively impactful. Definitely go and support Michaels! It’s a great place to meet, they have good Wi-Fi access, they are dog friendly – which is a bonus – and the fact that they support their staff, is another bonus worth a trip. 5/5 for sure!
Great food, rich coffee, swift service, warm atmosphere!
Cosy atmosphere with all kinds of seating arrangements. I really enjoyed their cappuccino and chicken mayo toastie.
Open early but it has a dated decor. The eggs benedict were decent as was the coffee.

We had a great meal last night at Micheals Kitchen and Bar. The restaurant is cozy and boast a great wine selection to go accompany their great dishes
Really relaxed vibe with nice seating facing the street. Had the veggie wrap so nothing special but it was still really tasty and will definitely be back
Tasty breakfast paired with super yummy coffee 🤤
Cute and stylish place. Great coffee and friendly staff.
Very nice community, family type venue. The setting is quite unusual in that you have the ability to sit on a patio type bar looking at all the traffic passing by or sitting indoors where there is live music if i recall the 1st friday of every month. Beer draft on tap and a quiet unassuming venue to relax.
