I only went to Lefty’s because someone told me that their chicken and waffles are delicious. They are really great. We had a friendly and attentive waitress. They also have some great drink specials- I think there was a 2 for 1 double G&T special.
I went to Lefty's for one reason and one reason only, to try out their chicken waffle and glad to say i was not disappointed. Probably not the healthiest option on the menu but if you're in the mood for something nice and sticky I'd suggest you try it. The service is nice and friendly and just the general feeling in this place is very cool, calm and laid back and a lovely casual dining spot.
Love everything about this place, had such a lovely night here last week. Amazing Service, Amazing Food, Amazing Atmosphere, Amazing Decor. Just Amazing!
Lefty’s food blew me away! This is not really my type of setting - a little too grimy and smoky - or food, but on our way to The Fugard with Dias Tavern full, curiosity finally killed the cat. I am so glad it did. Despite being quite full, they got us our food very quickly and the waiter was friendly and chatty. The food was SUPERB! We were advised to have the Pulled Pork sandwich and the Waffles, and both dishes were sensational - among my favourite meals in Cape Town, with such excellent flavour. I will definitely be back. Their reputation is well-earned!
I have always liked Leftys, to hang or to have a nice meal, the burgers and ribs are really tasty and is priced for what Cape Town is, expensive but they have great gin and brandy specials.
Loved the lunchtime vibe here.
The food is like something out of diners, driveins and dives.
It was all very tasty and well prepared. We will be back.
Last night my boyfriend & I were looking for a decent place to have ribs.
We tried Downtown Ramen before, but never ate downstairs at Leftys .
WOW, the ribs was more than amazing , possibly the best ribs I've had & the portion size was good.
I had a flat white - which was Deluxe Coffee (not my favorite brand of coffee) but was surprisingly nice.
Service is efficient and fast.
Will defiantly be returning !!
Decided to try Lefty's as my boyfriend felt like ribs and because we love Downtown Ramen. I had the mushroom burger and he had ribs. The mushroom burger was rather tasty and was more than enough for me. My boyfriend's rib portion was huge and based on his reaction, he seemed to have enjoyed it a lot.
All round the food was very tasty and the portion sizes where decent. The service was abit slow but not bad and the setting is a little dark and sticky, but it's part of the Lefty's experience.
I would recommend this to meat lover and vegetarians alike (beetroot and ginger falafels are amazing). It's also a great place to go with friends and have too many drinks followed by some soul food and then more drinks!
You don't get more authentic than Leftys.
Great vibe and music selections.
The food is also off the hook, personally my favourite cheeseburger in Cape Town
Excellent food - come hungry! Their Southern Fried Chicken and Waffles is my absolute favourite! It's not quiet in there though - don't expect to have easy conversation at a larger table without needing to yell over the music a little ;)
Tonight was the first time I sat down at Leftys usually I have their [absolutely delicious] pizza as take away. Tonight I had the Nashville fried chicken sandwich which was more tasty than I expected - it was spicy and tangy-the chicken was crispy and not oily which was great! The burger was filling enough - no side required :)
The Nashville Chicken was amazing - spicy, crispy, juicy, and with a fresh bun. It really is quite hot, so be warned.
Their falafel is delicious and I return for this often. Light, flavorful, and the slaw was perfect. I return often for this.
The pulled pork is always a winner. Deep, smoky flavour and the same house slaw.
The pizza was surprisingly good, but their pizza oven burnt down in January. Not sure if it's repaired.
Excellent pizza, fantastic drinks prices and about all that's left to say is..chicken and freakin waffles! I think it might be the only place in CT that does chicken and waffles and they definitely do NOT disappoint!
Lefty 's is a really cool bar and grill. The food is different and tasty and they have some drinks specials. Definitely worth visiting before a night out in town.
Loved my dinner at Lefty's a few nights ago - such a chilled place, good vibes and awesome unpretentious food. Service is friendly, maybe a little slow but it's part of the relaxed experience Lefty's offers. Our table had one of everything - ribs, chicken and waffles, pizza, pulled pork sammich - all reviews were excellent! I personally had the pulled pork and it was epic, I was very happy with my choice. It's a little on the pricey side for such a chilled place, but food is quality and portions are decent.
I had a hankering for ribs last night, and I've been wanting to try Lefty's for quite some time, and let me tell you I was not disappointed!
Online it said they served pork AND lamb ribs, however when we called to make a booking (and when we read the menu onsite) the lamb ribs had been removed from the menu.
We were seated efficiently and our waiter was at our table within a minute to take drink orders. We opted for the gin special (R40 for x2 double gin and tonics) which is a steal. When the drinks arrived, our waiter briefed us about what specials they had and what they unfortunately no longer had stock of. I ordered the double rack of ribs and Zenith had a spicy Nashville chicken burger.
Everything is made to order, so do not come hungry or you'll end up eating the table while you wait. The food took just over 30 minutes to arrive, but boy was it worth the wait!!!
The ribs were basted in a magical BBQ sauce and were so tender they fell off the bone! Also, the double portion was HUGE! This came served with thin cut fries and house slaw dressed in a tangy vinaigrette, a nice palate cleanser and a welcomed change to the regular mayo ridden slaw the regular joints sell. At R195 this was definitely value for money.
Zen's burger was out of this world! The chicken pieces were so succulent and the breading is a total game changer. It was spicy, crunchy and super flavorful! This was also served with thin cut fries.
Our waiter was attentive, but not overbearing. Whenever he passed by our table, he would glance over to see if we were ok (I'm assuming that "not ok" would've been us not devouring our food). He only came to ask us verbally if everything was fine once we had gotten most of the food down. This was great because it's always so awkward when you have a mouth full of food and you try and answer that question!
The service was efficient and the food was incredible. This is exactly the place you come for unpretentious, tasty food. I've given a 4 star rating, because even though it's a "dive", the toilet situation could really be a bit better.
Lefty's has overtaken Jerry's for best burger for me. The cheeseburger is consistently mind blowing. I don't know what sauce they put on there to make it taste so good but god damn is it amazing. Awesome ribs too, of course, probably #2 in ribs for me.
My score is only for the food. Personally I loathe the atmosphere - it's dark and smokey, difficult to get a waiter's attention (though they are very nice when you finally do), and often takes forever. However, the food is so good that I will brave all of this for it. If the whole smokey hipster vibe is your thing when you'll love it here. If you're like me, rather order to take out.
Sometimes tricky to get a table, but always worth it. Good, relaxed, friendly service. The food is simple, but satisfying (the ribs!). A great hidden spot worth taking visitors / friends for a new experience.
Total hipster vibes, waiters seem like you are disturbing them while they yawn at life. But holy mac & cheese can they make ribs. Fall of the bone, soaked in deliciousness and makes you regret nothing.
I had the most delicious chicken and waffles at Leftys! The only problem is that it's way dark inside the restaurant, definitely bring your own flashlight hahaha!
This place is great! Found it by googling "best ribs in Cape Town" and was not disappointed. I like that the feel inside the restaurant is very chilled and laid back. It's always my first choice to take friends and family. If you have not tried their food, please do! You will not be disappointed.
Was my first visit tonight.. And not my last. There are just to many interesting comfort food I need to try.
Lefty's a rather cool joint, dark and what you see is what you get type of place. Perfect for a few drinks with your buddies and perhaps some pizza or a few racks of ribs to share
Wife ordered their Chicken Waffle and I went for the Pulled pork sarnie. The Chicken waffle is out of this world. Pretty much the fluffiest waffle I tasted in ages with deep fried crumbed chicken strips and bacon on top.
Will go back for more of this Chicken waffle. My Pulled pork was perfect in every way. Sauce dripping off your elbow type dish.. So worth it. They serve that with a side of chips and some BBQ beans.
Next time, I will probably go for the mixed platter. The only suggestion I have is.. Please consider a lunch time slot. That will be cool.
Always good vibes, love the shots and drink specials. The ribs are the best in Cape Town and waitrons become friends! Their pizzas are also delicious and the decor is legit. Oh and the decor is nerdgasm.
I have eaten burgers all over Cape Town, tried all the top 10 lists. Lefty's cheese burger IS THE BEST!!! My number one burger in Cape Town.
Interesting items on the menu (aka chalkboard). The beetroot falafel is incredible! The fried chicken wings on a waffle with maple syrup on the other hand, though intriguing, was a bit too rich for us.. We went a year ago but must come again soon!
Absolutely great!! My goodness the food was amazing. I had the sticky ribs and they were so delicious and trust me Lefty's is not stingy with their serving. Then later on I ordered their chicken and waffles. At first I was sceptical about having something sweet with something savoury but I was blown away. It was really delicious. The waffles were crispy and just great. Its gets an 🅰+ from me
Love this place! Very chill vibe and great for the fact that it opens late as well. It also seems quite popular because if you arrive around 9.30 or 10, most items on the menu would already be sold out.
Ended up here as #PechaKucha at Assembly was WAY full tonight and folks at 75 Harrington coffee spot told me to go up the road just as they were closing...and I have to say, I think @leftyscapetown is simply BRILL! Had the most exemplary, friendly, professional, sparky welcome and #service from Mngr Liesel who couldn't have been nicer (place also has #DowntownRamen upstairs btw), and the #chicken/#BACON(!)/syrup waffles (R85)...AMAZEBALLS! Place felt like someone's home...super safe and fun! Oh...and they have a ACTUAL #PacMan machine...for real-real, not for play-play...DEF @jamescapetown fave! 🐯🐙😘😁🌍
Let me say this: this lowkey might be the best waffle I've had in recent memory.
Right, back to the restaurant. This dive bar specializes in what could best be described as dude food. Nothing fancy, no linen table cloths, no napkins, no olive oil and balsamic vinegar on the table, no menus (just a chalkboard). Okay, now that you've gotten over your prissy self, embrace the experience. The food is awesome! Bags and bags of flavor!
Standout dishes are the RIBS, the pull pork sammich (yes, sammich) and the chicken, waffles and bacon(yes, on the same plate).
Definitely worth a turn. Oh, and if you're up for some really good ramen, just take a quick trip upstairs.
Lefty's is alright. Been there a few times, the service was a bit slow for me. Took 30-40 mins to order even drink or get them. Food was fine, takes a bit of time to come in though. What's good about it is that they have tried keeping the vibe different from many other Cape Town spots. It will survive!
I think the important thing to remember about Lefty's, as a vegan, is that while the menu probably isn't great if you're trying to avoid animal products, that misses the point. Because plaid and alcohol *are* vegan.
Great dive bar vibe, prices aren't quite as I'd expected but I guess relative to the rest of the CBD they aren't so bad. Their kimchi burger is one of my favorites, spicy and delicious. My only gripe is the ambience - music is almost always too loud and you always leave smelling like an ashtray.
My first time at Lefty's and it lived up to my expectations! The vibe is laidback - perfect after a long day at work - and the fried chicken waffles BLEW my mind. Would definitely go back.
Went here for pre drinks before The Black Lips concert. The vibe is welcoming and dark. Music is a bit loud inside. The beers kept flowing and the tequila made its rounds. To load up on the munchie I had the burger, pity I can't recall which one but it was amazing! The sauce was very tasty and the chips were thin cut. The service was good on a busy night and it we real fun to hang here. Keen to come back and try the famous chicken waffle. Rad joint for beers and a munchie.
The ribs are genuinely not that great, I tried the chicken waffles twice - and they're amazing. The service is always good and you won't wait longer than 30 mins for your food - as compared to other rib & burger joints!
Quaint, Bohemian little gem that sneakily slips under the radar. Kitchen closes very late so it is perfect for a spontaneous boozey chow. Having said that, the food is unbelievable sober too. Some of the best ribs I have had in Cape Town.
Their pulled pork and fried chicken/bacon waffles bring a uniquely Texan style cuisine to South Africa.
Had my first-ever pulled-pork sandwich here and it rocked the f--king Casbah. In fact, Lefty’s opened the door for me to American-style, Guy Fieri-approved cuisine. And I haven’t looked back.
I took my brother here for some ribs- and they are definitely right up there with the best. Service was a tad slow and we had to prompt the waiter to order, for drinks and the bill. We werent in a hurry so it didnt impact much on our evening.
If we didnt go specifically for ribs, I think my brother wouldve ordered the chicken and waffles, after seeing it. Portions are generous and flavourful.
Hip, central downtown city vibes.
Delicious food and a great range from ribs, chicken on waffles to pizzas. The usual local craft and on tap beers plus other pub like drinks.
Cool place to meet friends pre a night out or mid week adventure.
Popped into Lefty's at around 8pm and the joint was packed. A lot of similarities to a bar than one would find in London's Shoreditch area. Their burgers have a great flame-grilled taste. Try their oyster shooter!
Lefty's is our grubby little home away from home. American style comfort food just like Mamma used to make 'em. They smoke their meat on the premises. Expect loud music, cold beer and good times.
I have to say that we have been avoiding Lefty's. We heard that the food was great, but had a bad experience trying to order the first time we went (over a year ago) and hadn't been back since. When a friend organized a dinner there, we decided to give it second go. Have to say that the service was MUCH better and the revamped outdoor area is great. The beers are a bit expensive (I accidentally ordered a R44 beer!), but the food prices are very reasonable. Though they are known for their meat, I decided to try the ginger-beetroot falafel and it was delicious! It was plated very beautifully, with six mini falafel wraps. The falafel was moist and cooked to perfection. Next time I want to try the kimchi burger.
Don't expect anything fancy, this place is small and raw. BUT....Left's has the most tastiest pulled pork sandwich. If they have ribs available then order them mmmm
The first time I went to Lefty's, it was for a drink. And I honestly assumed given its atmosphere (and the late time of night) that I was there that that was all they did. Friends invited me there for dinner last month. Although, everyone raved about the ribs - I was in the mood but was continually assured that they were excellent. I instead went for a terrific artichoke pizza.
I have been dying to try out Lefty's since I heard they have fried chicken waffles! When we got there, we got the impression of dive bar/hole in the wall. It's dark with loud Kings of Leon music playing. The sticky barbecue pork ribs are so delicious, they must be the best in Cape Town! And the chicken waffle was also so good but next time I think I'd rather have it at lunch time than for dinner.
I've been to Lefty's a few times and have never been disappointed.
It's not a classy establishment and never tries to be something it isn't. The ribs are some of the best in town and the waffle with fried chicken, bacon and maple syrup is a definite must try.
My favorite thing on the menu right now is the kimchi burger. The burger patty is made from good cuts of meat with no gristle whatsoever - this is extremely important to me else I can't eat it.
There's a very interesting looking falafel dish which I'm dying to try next time I go.
The staff are also super friendly and helpful.
The ribs are FANTASTIC! Service was pretty good. Good atmosphere. Not a huge fan of an indoor smoking section, but it doesn't detract from the food. My MAJOR gripe is the state of the loos and the general cleanliness.... Severely let's the place down.
I live within walking distance of this local hangout - and I'm never disappointed! The place itself is a little dark and dingy, but I think that adds character to the experience... The ribs are some of the best in town, worthy of a second order usually ;) don't forget to book, they are always full!
Big fan! Lefty's is a good hang out spot, and the food doesn't disappoint! I'm a little obsessed with the chicken and waffles, and have to go at least once a month to get my fill. I once had the beetroot falafel balls and they were also fantastic. They have some good beers on tap, and the outside space is really nice, even in the cold months. You have to know what you're getting into though - it's a casual place. You might have to spend some time flagging down waitstaff to order drinks, but it really all works out in the end. Cool vibe for sure.
The pros: the chicken and waffles, the chicken and waffles and...the chicken and waffles! great atmosphere too.
The cons: It can be really crowded and noisy but...it's a bar! You just have to decide if you're ok with that. Waitstaff can be a little absent, but it's not too bad.
I heard great things about the waffles at leftys and my word were they fantastic! Waffles covered with crispy chicken strips, bacon and syrup...absolute game changer. Next on the list is to try the ribs which looked pretty spectacular.
Ribs ribs ribs! If you love ribs then you will love Leftys. Their ribs are sticky, BBQ, fall off the bone delicious. You will always find yourself wanting more (that's how good they are). The place itself is a little dingy, but it's totally worth it for those ribs!
Lefty's has truly given me a food orgasm with the best ribs I've ever had. They are deliciously tender, fall of the bone juicy greatness. YUM YuM Yum..the food is affordable especially with the portion size..trust me when I say u better come there hungry coz there lots of food to go around. Don't worry they are drink specials to and I kinda dig the whole rocker/hippy dive bar vibe they have going on..it suits them. So YAY for Lefty's.
Food is out of this world amazing, and creative! The vibe is very chilled and friendly. It's definitely a spot to chill and enjoy good food.
This place is just truly amazing. Was there a few weeks ago for a little holiday and I was SO impressed. The vibe of this place is just amazing, cool and laid back. Best friggin burgers EVER and the fries, don't get me started on the fries..
Hipster central. Go there for the ribs, you won't be disappointed. Good pizza selection. Limited craft beer selection. The owner is often on the floor and involved in the daily work which I appreciate.
I've had the falafels, ribs, chicken waffles and pizza... the pizza though!!! I don't really like ribs in general and the chicken waffles were a bit sweet, but the margarita pizza is defs in my top 10 favourite pizzas in Cape Town. Especially with sriracha involved. The falafels are also really good - it's a very meaty menu but weirdly my favourite dishes are the vegetarian ones.
Such a chilled place with an awesome burger menu. Don't go if you're in a rush though. Only if you're keen for amazing burgers and cool staff.
Wow. This place left us wondering where we had been and what had happened (in a good way)!
We had an awesome time at this little dive. The atmosphere was perfect for a Saturday evening out on the town. The music was on! The drinks were on promo and the food was rocking! We made a reservation and were given a table right in front of the humble little kitchen - great! Service was easy and very relaxed.
As is usual for our gang, we ordered almost everything on the menu and shared the food casually.
There were two absolute winners here: burger and the crispy fried chicken that was part of the waffle dish (yes, you read that correctly).
I will wax on about those two dishes for a long time.
Burger for me was easily in the top 5 that I have had and I've had MANY. The size, texture, bun, toppings, juiyness, seasoning - all perfect.
The chicken waffle dish was excellent, if a bit sweet. But the chicken in this dish was so good that I would say it was the best cooked breast I have had, simply perfectly cooked. The waffle was lovely and almost seemed as if it had been made with Yorkshire pudding batter, different and yummy.
Ribs were again perfectly cooked, but the sauce lacked a bit of needed oomph, which I suppose you can add with extra salt and Sriracha (that was on the table).
Chicken wings were also well made and we had fun trying the "Return of the beetroot Falaffel", nice dish.
I loved this place. Down to earth. Gritty. Warm. But the showstopper for us was the beautifully made food. That lady behind the grill: She can cook!
This place is a mix of awesome and awful.
it is filthy at the bar.. maybe cleaner in the kitchen.
i kind of get the feeling that the staff have always been out partying harder than you have and for a while.
Food wise. i have very much enjoyed their fare.
even the ramen upstairs..but that has been a bit more hit and miss
downsides have been shite music at very high levels.
Having a beard here will make you enjoy your meal even more...got a truckers cap? wear it....tattood calves are not optional

Southern Fried Chicken, waffles, syrup, and bacon. Honestly, need I say more? My friends and I washed this down with beer, and didn't feel nearly as guilty as we should have. Will be back!
My sister and I came here for dinner and drinks after work, we had incredible service by Garren who was very knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. We had wonderful food, Kentucky style chicken and waffles and a pizza and awesome music! Cheers Lefty's Amy Tauber
Went for a meal there and sadly had to sit outside in the winter as it was full. The cold was soon forgotten as I was pleased with their gin special and blown away by their hot dam burger that the waiter recommended! Great night and good music!
Bloody amazing ribs, oh my word - you can literally just pull the meat off the bones with your fingers, it is so tender. Some friends took me for a birthday dinner and though the place may seem a bit dingy, the food is some of the best I have ever tasted. Attentive service too.
Amazingly good food.
Lefty's will leave you satisfied, hating yourself, but satisfied. Ribs were amazing, chicken and waffles phenomenal, they do soul food with extra soul and I love it!
Great vibe, soulful music and really good food. The pulled pork sandwich is among the best I've had in Cape Town! I would definitely recommend going to Leftys for a casual night out!

Lefty's is perfect for a night of festivity on a casual and intimate level. The food is amazing and down to the point of being real. No substitutions! Real authentic almost diner feel. My friend had the waffles and chicken (classic!) and I had the "return of the ginger and beetroot falafal" Dee-li-cious! The ambience is also very casual and almost lounge meets bar. Homey. Dim lighting. Down right lovely :)
Brought a large group of 10 people to Lefty's saturday night around 6pm. They very quickly made adequate seating us, which was a huge relief and very accommodating. We ordered many different dishes. I got the Chicken Waffle, which was raved about online. Personally, I felt the waffle was far too chewy and dense, and did not retain heat very well (perhaps was waiting around and got cold?). The chicken and bacon however, was very very tasty. I would recommend one ordered the Fried Chicken Wings, which were prepared similarly and came spiced with fries. The Kimchi Burger (which a friend ordered) was also somewhat of a disappointment. It was your average burger, which was fine, but it did not have enough kimchi in it to warrant the price. Also, the bun left something to be desired. Come for drinks, pizza, and the fun/funky bar ambience if you decide to come to Lefty's. Its more of a fun place to hang with friends than a serious culinary spot.
Look place to go to with mates. Very chilled and spacious, think they had a band last time as well. The ribs are good as well! In my personal top 3 spots for ribs. Just wish the portions were a bit bigger though
This is one of the first places I went to when I moved down. Most people do.
They're famed for their sticky barbeque ribs, which I have smashed on all but 2 occasions. The other times I had a cheese burger and lamb ribs (which were godly).
You'll most likely find NOFX being pumped over the sound system, if not a selection of quality hip hop or general good tunes.
The portions are well sized, fairly priced and will leave you satisfied.
Their chicken and waffles is also a hit. Waffle with chicken strips, bacon and drizzled in maple syrup. De-lish.
Be prepared to wait a wee bit as staff are super chilled, but that's Cape Town, right? Like, so chilled, bru. Make a plan to go. Eat everything. Bye.
As I love me some ribs, we had to try them out for ourselves at Lefty's, fast gaining a reputation for having ‘the best ribs and drunk food’ (words from other reviews, not mine). And boy, were they yummy! Truly delicious, and not badly priced either, at R65 for 3 short racks of baby back ribs. I was hungry, had been looking forward to this for days, and still had to donate third rack to Husband as I was so full. He had the pulled pork sammich, one of his favourites… not quite so reasonably priced at R60 for a regular-sized roll. My other complaints? Service was lukewarm-to-tepid and there were no milkshakes on offer. Not even plain vanilla. Oh well. Will definitely go back for the ribs though, they were lip-smackingly, finger-lickingly good. Speaking of finger-licking, I may just try the ‘Kentucky chicken waffles with bacon and maple syrup’ next time. Mmm.
I had the pulled pork hamburger and it was incredible! Service was a bit slow but everyone was very friendly there. Leftys is a great place to take someone on a relaxed date and after you can go watch a show at the fugard theatre, which is walking distance from the restaurant.
Based in an quiet part of CBD this bohemian style restaurant offers a small variety of food. Friends I was with enjoyed the food, but I was not bowled over. It was a fun place to have a drink or two with a group of friends.
Leftys is a fantastic, gritty, bohemian gem of a restaurant. Can definitely say that they have the best ribs in Cape Town and would recommend it to anyone wanting an offbeat meal with a few drinks and friends
Love the vibes here. Lefty's has great diner food at reasonable prices. I've tried quite a lot on their menu. A little disappointed with the crispy chicken waffle as the waffle is a bit on the soft side. My favourites here are ribs and pulled pork. Service is good and friendly, but I think they may need more assistance there to keep up with the masses of diners they get.
Brilliant ambience and general vibe, definitely a great spot for those one a "student budget". The fried chicken and waffles, burgers and chicken wings are a must have ????
All I can say is chicken, bacon and syrup waffles!!! They are the best! The Ramen upstairs is also very tasty. Huge portions and vibey place to be. Love going here.
I went to this laid back restaurant with a friend on a lazy Friday evening, to see what the hype was surrounding this place. We were there during Happy Hour, but the bar was closed as they had a training session for a new bartender - I wasn't stressed because I was doing a 10km run the next day.
The food didn't take too long to arrive, even though they were short staffed. Ordering during Happy Hour meant we got a nice discount on the burgers and we could splurge AND get the ribs! The ribs were smoky and well seasoned but they tasted so tough. Some of the meat was tender with a nice char while others were burnt and as chewy as liquorice. I managed what I could (was not letting my money go to waste). The burgers were juicy and had a nice basting sauce. They were much better!
I always check out bathrooms, and it was pleasantly clean. The outdoor seating is great for smoking or if you would love to be closer to the bar. The bar looked well stocked, but I'm not much of a drinker. From the outskirts, you expect greasy pub grub but get so much more than that. Lefty's is very quirky and its quirk is best enjoyed with friends.
*our waiter - Jeandré was a darling, and he earned Lefty's an extra star. Although he was the only one on shift, he made sure we were looked after. Thanks, doll!
I use Uber Eats for convenience. Lefty is a real great option for burgers with fries. The food standards are really high, and I am always happy with my orders.
My first order at Lefty really impressed me. I was rather concerned with the pricing of a simple burger and fries, however this was soon justified as I opened my first order. I can only say, that was one damn good burger.
I would say I have ordered around 10 to 15 times, all being positive experiences. I can't really complain.
If the burgers were to drop in price, maybe around the R80 mark, I'm sure more people would order. I would also love to see larger portions of fries, maybe packed separately.
All in all, I would recommend ordering from Lefty for that special meal, or when you want to treat yourself.
Service is rather slow but ribs and burgers are fantastic! I dare say that the ribs are probably the best I've had. Highly recommended :).
Really cool vibe. Very nice staff. Food was OK. The ribs are awesome according to other diners.
Good stop for after work drinks and a bite to eat. A relaxed atmosphere and friendly laid back vibe can come in sit down have a draft and a quick bite.
Great vibe .. enjoyed the old music classics and the food was amazing service was great to .. thank you for having me.. also had a Hyperli voucher and was used with no issues or anything
Love lefties, its the best place to bring friends and have a good time. Always have specials and they have the best ribs in town. Smoking area outside as well. Waiters/tresses is on point
My absolute favorite place! Have to try the ribs if you have the change. Don't know if I like the new amendments done to the place. But the food is still great
Love the ribs!!! Even though one time they took forever to be made and were under cooked but generally the ribs are great. I’ve heard good things about the chicken and waffles too. They also have an amazing G&T special.
A nice cozy place where the best ribs in the city can be found. Cheeseburgers and the Kentucky chicken waffle are awesome! Select craft beers on tap and a good selection of local beers too. Stop b for a quick bite or an evening enjoyed with friends. Great ambiance and friendly staff. Seriously, have the ribs, it'll change your life!
We were walking around looking for a place to eat. Ended up walking down this street that was not lit. Seen this place and came in. My first thought was it was going to be some dodge place, but it turned out to be a really cool place. Food was fantastic. Ribs were amazing with a very large portion for a single. Love the shoe string fries which have been hard to find in capetown and the double burger was excellent.
Food is reliably very good. Pulled pork is standout but almost everything else is worth a try depending on what BBQ mood you are in. Good beer. Service is earnest and generally good. Can get busy but chill and enjoy.
