I live camembert and somehow kitchens really struggle with this.

The food is soooo good, ribs fall from the bone, and the spinach and pumpkin veg is to die for, it tastes like its home made.

The place has an calming atmosphere about it. The interior makes you feel as though you are in a different time. To be a five star steakhouse one would expect excellently grilled quality meats with side potatoes served in any form you like, but also good speady service. At Van Riebeeckshof Cattle baron you will find all of the above and more. P. S. They are on the entertainer app!

Best steak in town. They also have weekday lunch buffay that is delicious. The spread is not as large as other buffets but the food they serve is much better. Pensioners akso get a great discount on the buffet.

Dining at Cattle Baron van Riebeeckshof is one of the best experiences one can have. We've celebrated many anniversaries here over the years and it's always just tops. The outlay, decor and atmosphere is like none other and the experience is lasting, hence why it's worth spending good money here.

Food was excellent as always. But the real killer is the people: I haven't been there in almost three years and the owners and some of the "old" wait staff still remember me and came to say "Hello"!!! Whenever I'm in the greater metropole, this is the Cattle Baron I'll drive to!!!

Burger was dry and tasteless and definitely didn't seem like 200g. Tiny piece of bacon on it and minimal fig preserve. For R102 I expected something much better. Really dissapointing. Will not be going back. Only good thing was our waiter, Lee, who, although super busy, was polite and friendly.

The food was outstanding as always but the service was really shocking. The wine was not opened for our table. The waiter just put the wine down and left. Not once did he come back to find out if our food was fine or if we wanted more drinks. My pudding came without a spoon! I have been going to Cattle Baron for many years and I have never experienced such bad service! It is sad that you will lose clients because of a bad waiter!

Service not great: Waitress had way too many tables to serve, my fillet had a piece of sinew, the chips on all our plates looked and tasted as if it was fried for a second time, the veg was ice cold and the complimentary rolls was old! My milkshake and the rice on the plate was the only things that could get a 4 star! I visit Cattle Barons often, but the Van Riebeeckshof branch needs lacks the Cattle Baron Standard I've come to appreciate and love!!
