Nice play with excellent view. There pizzas is a must. Atmosphere and music is excellent. Love the place will be back soon.
Michael Mischke
Came in here for lunch. The balcony is comfortable, wine is well priced and food was tasty. We had salad and burger. Salad was very good. Burger was a bit plain but we didnt get much on it so the restaurant cannot be blamed. Sorry about the food pics. Obviously I didnt take them until we were half finished. The presentation was decent though. Stop in and enjoy the warm service.

Amazing place. Service was excellent! The cocktails were just beautiful and the happy hour was a great value for money! I loved my time there!
Larry Liu
Perfect pizzas. Food was incredible and the view of long street was perfect. We sat on the balcony which was comfortable. Tables could be cleaner. The staff was helpful and friendly. They have a range of pizzas and burgers. I recommend the pizzas!
Adam Wateman
Came here on whim and really liked it. Happy hour drinks were limited but good if you like sweet drinks. Food was delicious and there were many choices. Jalapenos were spicy!
Craig Maseho
This is a best place in long Street for the enjoyments you have Live music when the restaurant still open then after it becomes a pub where goes full of people

It's a very relaxing and friendly atmosphere with always great music playing. The food is incredible and the new owner is captivating.
Nicolette Peters
Love the decor and the food is amazing on Tuesday's there's a two for one pizza special. The base of all the pizza's is thin with a wide selection of toppings. My favourite is Johnny Jalapeno. From 5pm it's happy hour. The staff are all friendly. No complaints only smiles.
B
Delicious pizza with thin crusty base and lots of toppings options. But well, it is a bar and it can get very noisy during the evening.
Jan Weitzel
We were there on a Sunday where they had special happy hour and food offers. I had a very great pizza so I even ordered the same twice in a row. The cocktails are also very nice.
Christian del pozo
Nice bar to have a couple of beers and get some food, with friends or family 🍔🥤🍻🥃.
Mighael Klaase
Great place for a fun night out
Irmani Smallwood
Very glad these guys could fit us in for a quick dinner before loadshedding. Great burgers - even better jalapeño poppers which were super spicy! Pizza well received too. Nice stop for a spot, we enjoyed the balcony and views of Long Street
Kyla Visser
Great vibe, great price drinks and their sweet patatoe fries are to die for!
Jasmin Laux
We liked it here! Good meals, good drinks, very good service - we recommend :)
Carmen Fourie
After many years their quality has always stayed consistent. Love all of their pizzas, they also had a special on the day we visited so even more value for money. Also had a delicious cocktail. Will always return when we visit CapeTown! Our waiter was also very friendly and service fast.
Andreas von Holy
Excellent burgers and pizzas here,! Nice seating area on the balcony overlooking long street.
Paul Whitehead
Good food and the server 👍 was really Nice..
Bradley Smith
Best place to grab a beer with great pizza in the heart of CPT
Bruce Muguti
Best place in Cape Town , great service , best pizzas ever , great entertainment , it's kaboom.
Courtney Brown
Hidden gem with the best pizza in town, also good for a cheeky dance later on
Natasha Osborne
Cocktails are not good and the burgers were ok... a bit disappointing. I hear the pizzas are good though. And the vibe and beer pong was awesome. As well as the service.
Alexandra Kotchoubei
Such a great end to a great night with an amazing pizza and dance with my girls! :)
Sabie Sam Matsobane-Ngwenya
Great vibe. Good music. Amazing friendly staff. Definitely coming back for seconds
Michaela de Witt
Amazing place you need to experience it to understand it🤩
Danel Koster
Good for the views and your in the hustle and bustle of the Long street nightlife but the experience was far from great. The restrooms could do with an upgrade and a good clean scrubbing. On both occasions I visited I found it extremely lacking.
Shereen Kazansky
I had the best time at Sgt. Pepper on New year's eve. Excellent service and exchange in abundance for what we paid. Thank you Jonathan and team
Zane Olivier
Had a blast here last night, Dj was lit, vibe was electric
Dwayne de Klerk
Pizza was good, the base was sure thin and just the way I liked it, center could be done a little more, but beautify matched flavours. I understand the water situation here.... Being from gauteng, we are spoiled, but feel waterless hand cleanser or even wet wipes would be nice. But over all a pleasant visit whilst in the mother city...
Herman Van Boom
What a experience cuz.. history has been made yet again..

Check out SGT. Pepper !!!

The best pizza and friendliest service in Cape Town.
Jessy Da Silva
Great vibe on A Friday evening! Really enjoyed their jalapeno poppers, pizza and burgers where great too! Pizza was my favorite, we had the Mr Piggy. Their sweet potato fries are a must with the burger, could not stop eating them!
Lulu Kieser
Overall experience was good, the atmosphere chilled and inviting. Huge variety of pizzas, cocktails, burgers and other yummy things. However their onion rings tasted and looked pre bought. Pizza was good and their cocktails average.
Ntshembo Nkuna
My friend Mbalenhle Gumede and I went there for late lunch. Even though it was a Friday, it wasn't packed at all. Really nice that it wasn't overcrowded. The service from our waiter was 10/10. The food was okay, not amazing but edible. I'd recommend it👌

Usually go to the bar for the drinks, decided to try the food this time. Had a pizza loaded with loads of toppings. One thing that I wasn’t expecting was the surprisingly thin base; it was like a phyllo pastry type of base. Definitely was much lighter than the the usual that I have tried around local pizzerias. It was quite different and delicious at the same time though.
The waitress was really kept on her toes (seemed to be the only one on duty at the time), the outdoor deck was fully-booked.
The cocktails are well priced and it’s worth it to try the selection during happy-hour.
Sita
To keep it short: the pizza was quite thinly topped, but tasted good. Service was decent and I like that there are jar options for the cocktails.
Tsepang & Thapelo
Had a salad which was pretty good. My friend also enjoyed her food (she got a burger.) Very chilled vibes and friendly staff. Good long street chill spot.

Love the pizzas here but really didn't like the wrap...

I recommend going when it is 2 for 1 pizza and cocktails
Get a nice table on the balcony and enjoy

Of all the million places I could go to again, SGT. PEPPER won't be one of them.

The prices are ridiculous for the portions that you're getting: from the cheese in the salad to the size of the wine glass. The salad was tasty, but not memorable at all. I remember the wine was incredibly warm too, and seeing as I had the tiniest of wine glasses, there wasn't really room for ice in it.

The free Wi-Fi was the highlight.
Rebecca Rawcliffe
Lovely edgy vibe.. great food and drinks selection👌👏 just a pity not a lot of people knows where they are. Other than that.. I'm not too fussy and love it.
Thandi Mcizana
It was unfortunate that at my first visit to this place, I was served raw pizza. The dough was still wet. I sent it back. It is probably the worst pizza I've ever had.
Amy Strydom
I was quite excited to eat at Sgt Pepper's as I had heard good things about their pizza. It was difficult to choose what I wanted due to the wide array of pizzas (and burgers) available. I eventually settled for a smoked chicken, camembert and cranberry pizza, while my boyfriend chose one with lots of bacon, avo and feta. The pizzas were an absolute delight - thin bases and lots of toppings.
The only disappointment was a rather flat beer and a fairly inattentive (but by no means 'bad') waitress. Other than that, it was an enjoyable experience. Great atmosphere with awesome background music. I will come again!
Charnè Meyer
Second time I have been here for a birthday party. The vibe good, thin based pizzas and excellent service. Tip: Book ahead for a seat on the veranda.
Aletha Jeftha
Went for dinner with a friend and we both opted for pizzas. The bases were thin and crispy (just the way I like it); however, the pizza sauce & toppings were quite average and lacked flavour. Heard their burgers are good, so perhaps next time I'll give that a go instead.

Update: returned to try out their burgers. They don't have a plain burger on the menu. Not a single one. They all have a million and ten toppings that just would confuse my taste buds. Our awesome waiter however figured a workaround and got me a simple bun with a patty - charging me per the item - so happy he could do this for me.

A good burger needs no toppings. Sadly this is not a good burger. More like a frikkadel on a roll. And it doesn't even come with a side! You need to order that separately 😳! The wedges are however yummy.

My friend ordered the BLT with cheese sandwich and liked her dish.

For dessert we shared the sticky toffee pudding. Not half bad. But that ice filled ice-cream was definitely no bueno!

Will likely not return.
To skip traffic my partner and I decided to get something to eat and I knew Tuesday's are pizza specials so we went to SGT pepper. Tannie Tandoori is my number one pizza I never order anything else lol. Absolutely love it but the base is waaaay too thin. Otherwise it's very tasty and service was great. Drinks were cheap. One of my favorite places to go in the CBD. Love it!
Jessica Zef
Been here a few times with my colleague for the Tuesday pizza special. The service is terrible - the waiters are always nowhere to be found and the service and food takes a long time. The pizza itself isn't very good. The bacon is of cheap quality as it is mostly fat and chewy bacon cuts. Have not been back since the repeated bad service and food.

We went to grab dinner at SGT Pepper last Sunday after a day of wine tasting. From the street, it looks quite appealing for a burger & drinks vibe. It was quite early when we arrived so the restaurant was not yet busy. We seated ourselves at a table on the balcony after standing around awkwardly for a few minutes without anyone coming to see to us (not unusual in Cape Town) but the view overlooking Long Street was really nice. The waitress assigned to our table was sweet but very slow. I ordered a classic mojito and The Cranberries burger (brie, caramelized onion and cranberry sauce) and my companion ordered a chicken wrap. My mojito arrived and it was bland and reminiscent of a mystery punch you make using lemonade at a braai. We then waited over an hour for our food to arrive, during which time the surrounding tables left and were replaced by new occupants. The host said sorry our food was taking so long but the restaurant was busy it wasn't). When the table of new occupants received their food, my sister enquired how that was possible as some of them had ordered and received burgers. After numerous different excuses, we were told that the delay was due to the kitchen running out of lettuce for the burger - which is fair enough, it happens, but could have been communicated an hour earlier. I eventually had my lettuce-less burger, which was better than it tasted. It was accompanied by some very brown wedges, which I did not care for. By the time we left, the restaurant had gotten quite busy, so it clearly fairly popular but after the shocking service AND average food, I would not bother to go there again.
Constant Meiring
Ordered pizzas though a delivery service. Pizza base was oily and reminded me of a samoosa. Look, I love samoosas, but I ordered a pizza. Would not recommend.
Rui Burguete
Lovely balcony to have a downer overlooking Long Street. Not going to say a word on the food but the pizzas did look good and people looked happy with them so it's because they're probably good. Maybe next time around...!
Ankia Scholtz
Some of the best pizza's in town and great that the place turns into a very lively space. For a great night out with friends this is definitively a fun spot to go to.
Wade Witbooi
Potentially the best pizza I've had! I went there once and really enjoyed the pizza, then went again to make sure. Their pizzas are really good and the beers are well priced, AND they're on The Entertainer. Win! Megan Bellinger

At ease, Sergeant.

Our inspection report is quite different to previous evaluations:
» service: polite but slow
» pizzas: rather ordinary in topping and taste
» decor: slightly tired, worn wooden floors, clean tables and chairs

Overall: tourists and loyalists will ensure your survival (even a cult following), but this time round, no medal from us.
Well, this is never a comfortable thing to write about but nonetheless, I think it should be done. I had, what I found to be, quite an upsetting experience last night at Sgt Pepper. Needless to say, it was quite busy because of the 2-for-1 pizza special but the staff were all really friendly upon us entering and our waiter was upbeat. Our food arrived and was very tasty – no complaints there – their pizza is most certainly a winner.

After dinner, the large table next to us left, and a bouncer and our waiter came over to separate the large table into two smaller tables. This wasn’t very easy to do as the balcony was cramped as is, but the bouncer, while separating the tables, ended up bumping my two companions’ chairs quite roughly and repeatedly in the process. They turned around and asked him to please be wary as he was repeatedly bumping them, only to be met with a withering look and an infuriating “Relax, just relax”. We were quite taken aback at the nature of his response, and a short but heated exchange of words ensued with his only response being to repeatedly tell us to 'relax'.

Our waiter came over and ushered the bouncer away and apologised to us profusely for his behaviour. We said it was fine, but there was absolutely no need for rudeness. Our waiter’s response? “It’s a cultural thing”. This was met by a table of stunned silence before I interrupted him and informed him it was most certainly not a cultural thing, but in fact just a rudeness ‘thing’. Our waiter clearly hadn't read his audience correctly because he went further by saying “He’s Congolese. Do you know many Congolese?” to which we responded in the affirmative and said that that still had no relation to rudeness? His response again? “Yes, but do you know many Congolese bouncers?”. At this point, we simply waved him away as how much longer can you go on and fight that sort of ignorance? I didn’t want the waiter near us after that, and about 40min or so later we got our bill and left.

All in all, it was a very unfortunate experience. I know this is a popular place and this situation is not a reflection on all staff, bouncers, or even the owners - but I don’t think it’s appropriate to remain silent on bad service OR racism.

Bets pizza and cocktails. Such a great vibe and friendly staff. Lots of specials and often have dj's on weekends for an extra treat. Best place in long street by far.
Nicol Miller
Not really a Long Street fan, but SGT PEPPER, is festive and actually is a good spot to meet up with friends and grab some drinks and a pizza. Especially the Lord Camembert, which is camembert cheese, chicken, rocket and a reduction of balsamic or if you into nibbles, the peppedew poppers are really tasty.

✔value for money
✔good pizza options
✔festive

✖road parking
✖noisy
Tiyaarah Cloete
We decided to try sgt pepper after seeing how full everything else was on first Thursday. Another entertainer find, it was good. Service was okay, the pizzas were a little oily. Little complaints after that
Ulisha Moodley
Love the pizza's here, especially the tannie tandoori. It's delicious and flavorful. Service is good as well. It's also nice that you can have dinner first and then enjoy some drinks at the bar followed by some dancing.
Nadia Müller
I would recommend this spot if you need a place to meet up or wait for other places to catch a vibe. Service was average. Food wasn't anything to write home about but wasn't bad either. Price was it was affordable and decor and or ambience wise, also nothing unique
Murray Lovemore
Really good pizzas and Tuesday is two for one. Really great for an on-a-budget evening and also has a great location with a balcony overlooking Long Street.
Thandie
It really baffles me why the pizza in this place is so highly rated. I went there on Tuesday and had their 2 for one special. Ordered something called the Don and mamma mango.
The taste was so bland. The chicken was pale white with no hint of seasoning. The cream or so called cream cheese on the mama mango tasted off the peach chutney looked like the entire bottle had been emptied on the actual pizza. The Don was filled with green chilli and that was just the only thing you could taste.
The worst piece of cardboard I've ever stomached. Had 2 slices of that nonsense and asked them to pack it up. I was polite enough to pay and give the tip. But this place needs to seriously go for pizza making lessons and should not be getting away with the ill food they serving to customers. I am still so ticked off as I know what real pizza tastes like and this mediocre piece of trash should be audited.
Keenan Naidoo
We visited SGT. PEPPER for a late lunch this weekend and it's distinctive aesthetic appeal quickly grew on me. It boasts a decent selection of meals and after much deliberation, we settled on the Tannie Tandoori. The pizza arrived in remarkable time and was incredibly light and flavourful. Pepper also has a great assortment of drinks to please any palate. Overall, it's a great way to grab a bite when you're out on that perfect, sunny, Cape Town afternoon. 🌞
Wez_Undercover
This place has it's ups and downs.
Ups - Great vibe, great service and really tasty burgers.
Downs - when it is busy it can drive you up the wall, food comes out raw and service can take ages.
But then again, have a tequila and enjoy the ride. Their music playlist is amazing.
TerryCPT
Decent pizzas at good prices, a well stocked bar and when the night moves on - this spot turns into an awesome 80's, 90's dance hall. It's super fun and really well run.
Chloë
If you're ever looking for a Tuesday night special, here is were you go for 2 for the price of 1 pizzas. Just know the conditions that you must buy a beverage of sort to qualify for the special. The choices on the menu are unlimited. Someone picked out a good selection of ingredients for the pizza. I wouldn't say the pizza is extremely large. I normally can't finish a large pizza but managed this fairly easily (same with the other girls). All in all, a great place to go for a early week special!
Kyle John Richter
Went here the other day. Loved the pizza- great selection and awesome deal on half price Thursdays👍🏼 also has a very cool atmosphere and friendly service🍻
Juanita Rene Stears
Love spending the night in Cape Town, so going to this place was great! The vibe, the food, the massive cocktail drinks, the prices, and service just amazing, we all had pizzas ane they are so good! Loved every bite.
Janomi
Very popular spot for young vibrant people looking for a jol. Big dance floor. But never enough bars. On a friday it takes
Forever to order drinks.
Megan Bellinger
I want to start off by saying i didnt have high hopes when i initially walked in. It was sparse in terms of patrons and waiters, and slightly dark and cold. However on the balcony it already improved. They have tv's up out there which is great for sport watching.
We waited for service for ages, so i eventually had to go get menus for us, and encourage sone kind of service. When we did, he apologised which i appreciated and ended up being quite good, no nonsense.
There was 4 of us and we all chose pizzas, which was a task from the huge selection, traditional and exotic types. What a great choice! Thin crusts and generous toppings on all. So yum.
We saw burgers pass our table, they looked great too, so I'll definitely be back to try one of those, as well as to try there daily specials!
Erhardkk
Off the bat this place doesn't look that great, but once outside on the deck things brighten up. I'd recommend getting a beer tower and some chilly poppers before sinking your teeth into one of the delicious pizzas. It's nice for a late afternoon chill and some drinks.
Lauren Kim
A vibrant and chilled spot for a meal. TV to watch the rugby. The Parma princess pizza was lovely just a little sweet with green fig preserve and onion marmalade. The bacon, feta and rocket pizza came with Avo but they ran out so substituted it with guacamole- glad they could make a plan. The burger unfortunately was the down fall - very very very over cooked. And lacking taste - the wedges were great though. Good service and a fun atmosphere
Jaynisha Patel
Visited this spot for the two for one pizza special on Tuesday. The place is quite dingy inside but a lot better outside on the deck. The wine list is pretty mediocre but they are very generous with their wine by the glasses, filling it to the rim. The service was practically non existent and towards the end of the meal we didn't see our waitress for 30 minutes and had to ask someone else for the bill.

Despite the slow service, the pizza is thin and crispy. Really good pizza and even more worth it on Tuesday with the special. They weren't overly generous with the toppings which a bit disappointing.

Overall, would definitely go back for the pizza. Would recommend sitting on the deck and not expecting much in terms of service.

Justen Van Eck
Nice native long street vibe. The Jalapeño poppers were amazing, cocktails are very good but service is very tardy.

If you're in long street and have a lot of time on your hands, go experience it.
Chad Rutter
Dig the vibe here! And they've renovated a bit so looking fresh ! Service is great, the best humans work here, gotta say I enjoy their company, very kind and friendly. Don't mind their pizzas at all! Great tasty pizzas and they are made pretty quick, sometimes service can be slow but that's part of life. This place is always good fun on a Friday night x
Carl Gustav Stoltz
While the drinks were top quality and the pizza was beyond magnificent, I was less than impressed with the time in between drinks. The toilet area was also a problem. Other than that - not too bad.
Dominic Carvalho
I recently ate a chicken burger at Sgt pepper and only after I had nearly finished my burger I noticed that the chicken was raw and I informed the waitress about the chicken to which she replied she doesn't know what to say and she hopes I'll be ok. I now have severe salmonella and I am utterly disappointed with the the service and quality of the food, won't be going back anytime soon.
The Jax Blog
Great little spot where Zula Bar used to be. Lovely cooling sprays on a hot summer's day. "Love potion" cocktail that resembles a jam jar tasted FANTASTIC! Service a bit slow and toilets could be cleaner, otherwise a not too bad spot on Long Street.
Kevin
We ordered 6 pizzas 1 and a half hours before arrival. On arrival the waiter lied to us that the order was ready. We wasted an entire half hour waiting only to find out that they had only started to prepare the order just after we were seated. Worse off the manager brushes us aside saying that did we tell them that we only had 1 hour for lunch. Which rational person would order that many pizzas to come and sit and wait for them to be made. Ridiculous place; i would not recommend anyone to go there.
Martin Evans
The kind of place you go for a pizza and maybe a snacklet.I have to admit that the few occasions I have eaten here have been rather average.

Then again. I didn't have massive expectations. There are worse places to eat in the area. At least they have the comedy nights.....
Sophie Mamet
I never been there for the food!
But for some drinks and party on Friday evening or on Saturday evening!
It's always very festive!!
The service is also quit quick for the amount of people at the bar!!
Nicole Vrede
Awesome awesome pizza!! They have a huge selection, you could basically close your eyes, pick any pizza, and be so happy with what you get.

You can especially enjoy the long street vibe on the balcony on a hot evening.

I will definitely be back soon ;)
JonJon Clark
Very vibey place were people too cool for school frequent! Slightly rustic but makes it perfect to play a game of cards with friends whilst having a drink overlooking long street. The pizzas are absolutely amazing - they come in this super cool oval shape and taste superb. Lots of choice on the menu! Almost too much! Would recommend going there on Tuesday night for the 2for1 pizza special.
Jess Weisz
Had lunch here today - incredible as always with great service. Would highly suggest their 2 for 1 pizza nights on Tuesdays - an absolute bargain for amazingly tasty food. Always a vibe on Long Street
Bree Street Brent
I honestly don’t know why Sgt Pepper never makes it onto burger and pizza “best of” lists by the likes of Eat Out and Food24. I’d go here for a burger over nearby Royale any day of the week. And the pizzas are even better.
Danielle Martincich
Had an amazing evening with 10 friends last night. We had booked a table to celebrate a friends 21st birthday. The castle towers and jugs were amazing and the pizzas were value for money. Special thanks to the manager, he was great, and the runners were super helpful. 👌👌
Nici Botha
I Love SGT Pepper not only does it transform into an awesome "club" at night but the Pizza is really good!! The Pizza crust is sooo nice, thin and also super crispy and really tasty.. the fact that this restaurant doubles as a place to go dance later makes it so much better! Really would recommend this place for good pizza and a great time!
Selina Joy Smit
I have to admit, I wasn't overly impressed with Sgt Pepper. We went in the afternoon, so the restuarant was quite empty. But even so, the service was slow and our food arrived cold. They have a very impressive menu and we had ordered four different kinds of pizza, and even though they were good I've definitely had better.
Andy Walker
Fairly good burgers but slow kitchen service. The Yellow Submarine is one to try but definitely make a turn if everywhere else in Long is packed.
Simone
Let's start off by saying that this is not a family restaurant or a place to have a romantic dinner. This is a chilled place to have a beer/cocktail and pizza and dance a bit (over the weekend the restaurant transforms into a club). I may even go as far as saying that it's a bit grungy. That being said, the pizza is amazing, the vibe is fun and relaxed, the waiters are awesome and we had a really fun night out. The only downside is that the bathrooms are terribly dirty, I would avoid if possible.
Gerrie De Haas
Absolutely horrible experience! Even as a patient person I found the experience at Sgt Pepper to be shockingly awful! We went on a friday night which is supposed to be extremely busy but still got a table with some ease only to find out that half the items on the menu were not available due to faulty kitchen equipment. We were incredibly hungry and then opted for a simple plate of chips and chilli poppers to share. After 95 minutes of waiting for our food we had to cancel our food order as we were already late for an appointment elsewhere. Even cancelling our order and paying for our drinks was a strenuous exercise causing us to be more than half an our late for our appointment. This ordeal made us wonder how Sgt Pepper handles busy nights and how they are ever capable of running a full menu - do patrons then have to wait 2 hours for a pizza?
I would advise people to maybe opt for one of the dozens of other establishments in Long Street if they are planning a night out in Cape Town.
Katya Krat
Fantastic vibe, beers and pizzas! The new menu is great! I recommend the fold over pizza with gypsy ham if you are keen to try something new 🍕🍕🍕😏😏😏
Morne Visser
Another fantastic place on Long Street! Set in a historic building with an upstairs balcony overlooking Long Street, enjoy long lunches or vibrant dinners overlooking the street life.

With an excellent selection of signiature cocktails, start the party off with a few classic or house specialty cocktails. Follow this with delicious starters - jalapeno poppers are my favourite! The main course? Best selection of burgers or pizzas. Look out for weekday specials!!
Shivani Garg
We went on a Tuesday and got BOGO on pizzas. They have a good selection of Pizzas and the size is pretty big too. The pizzas were thin crust and oven baked, just the way I like them !

The Pizzas were extremely good. We sat in the open area and the view of the street from the top is delightful. We visited the restaurant in Cape Town winters and were so glad that they had a heating tower in place.

We had a lovely time. The staff was friendly and efficient. They also accept cards.
Jenevieve Fabre
Definitely more for a younger generation..
More of a drink and pool vibe or to possibly grab a drink and pizza with friends I'd say in varsity years.. Not the type of place for a sit down meal to impress a partner.
Tafel Vir Twee
We love coming here to have a drink on the balcony. With Hunter's Dry on tap and cheap house wine, it is a great place to relax and enjoy the views of Long Street. Since we love a deal as well, we have come twice for the Tuesday "Buy 1 Get 1 Free" special. We came the first time around 8pm and it was packed! The pizzas were being rushed out and were rather sub-par. We decided to come again on Youth Day around lunch. Lunch is definitely the way to go, as there are far fewer people. The pizzas were MUCH better. We had the Godfather and Father Thyme on both occasions.

UPDATE: we tried the burgers an have to say that there is a reason why Sgt Pepper is known for their pizzas an NOT the burgers. They were definitely good and a great value, but the partty lacked in flavour and quality. It wa huge though.
Awie Erasmus
Yummy pizzas. Delicious burgers. Great vibe. Comfortable, chilled, non-pretentious and awesome. The perfect place to start a big night out - and end up staying until 2am! Also a great venue to have big groups for a party.

I have never been disappointed by the Sergeant!
Arno Quinton
Great place. Beautiful view of the generic hipsters at Beerhouse. Well priced beverages. The music on a Monday night felt like a Friday at a dance festival. Seemed legit. I liked the late night music. It feels comfortable and I enjoy the energy. The comedy was exceptional. It is a must for a chilled night out or if you feel like an experience that doesn't make you feel like you're out of your depth. Will frequent more often. This place has the same personality as my faulty but beautiful friends. Must visit.
Dominique Andrea Vieira
Great vibey spot on long street for a pizza and a drink with a couple of mates. We've been there a few times and haven't ever been disappointed. If anything there are too many options on the menu - but that's just me and my indecisiveness talking. If it's busy, you might wait a while - but they're worth the wait
Anamika Karamchand
Definitely the perfect spot to get your weekend started with your mates and chow down a gourmet pizza in the process! It has an awesome vibe, and the food is reasonably priced. Cocktails are super cheap and quite a steal if you ask me. Definitely a must when times are hard, and you still want to have an awesome night out.
Rebecca Francis-Pope
Perfect place for a Friday night jol! Only arrived at about midnight and the place was pumping with both new music and some classic old school tracks :) And best of all, Jagerbomb specials: 5 for R100!
Lame [Lah-meeh]
Had the pizza, was tasty. The vibe was average, not really my cup of tea. My friend had the burger, I'm told it was amazing (I'm not a fan of burgers)! Overall not amazing.
Kwanele Mkatini
SGT Pepper...great place, nice location. Let's get to it, the FOOD!!! Being a first not knowing what order I asked our waitress , she pointed to several pizzas to choose from. Looking at the menu the names of the food were out of the box, like the fact that they played around with the names and you could literally relate the pizza to the name. I order the BIG BIRD...the minute you put the slice in your mouth you could taste each bit of the pizza if it's not the smoked chicken it's the sour cream and if it's not the sour cream it's the Jelly...Yeah I know JEALLY. Great cocktail menu and the next time not sure to order a pizza or a burger or BOTH,should have done both since it had reasonable pricing. For two people it comes to the sum of 250-300 max. One of the best pizza places, if not thee best.Great place definitely going again.

Best pizza in town - it's basically like a thin piece of crispy, cheesy heaven. Amazing bar with cool staff. Great place to meet up with friends - for celebrations or just to chill. Awesome decor. Book if you want to sit outside. Make sure to go dance on the dancefloor when there are DJs. Love this place so much, wish there could be a Johannesburg outlet. :)

Definitely one of the BEST burgers I've tasted in my life. I doubted the food because of the staircase but as soon as I sat down, I asked the waiter what he recommended and he said "The Bob Marley" , I ordered it and it honestly FANTASTIC ! Loved it ! The cocktails were yummy but tasted diluted. Nonetheless, the food is amazing !

On our last night in Cape Town, after a really crazy hilarious incident at the top of Signal Hill, I had originally suggested to my friend to the V&A for dinner, but after much consideration we decided to park our car at the hotel and walk to Long Street which was just 5mins away on foot.

Our boss had wanted me to take my friend to Royal Eatery (previously reviewed by me already) but there was a 25mins wait for a table so we gave it a miss and walked along Long Street to try our luck at other restaurants. One of my friend's friend had the previous evening suggested Sgt Pepper as a great place to try. And so that's where we ended up at.

We managed to grab the last table upstairs on the balcony, albeit on the inner track, not by the balustrades. We had excellent service from our waiter but though my friend didn't quite enjoy the wine that the waiter recommended.

We both ordered pizza, I had the "Fisherman", which I realised later was really composed of 2 salty ingredients, i.e. anchovies and salami. But despite that, I did enjoy my pizza.

I would go again to try the other pizza offerings the next time I visit Cape Town.

A very vibe-y and younger crowd patronage for this restaurant.

Thought the place was a little run down on the
Inside and peeing into their kitchen as I walked upstairs, put me off ordering food. This seems like a bar for students rather that foodies.

I didn't know about Sgt Pepper until a few friends of mine mentioned that they were regulars... We then went to dine this past weekend at the place in long street.

Such a good vibe with great music that plays whilst you overlook a busy street that gets festive at night.

Their pizza's are quite nice but not the best I have tasted. Our table ordered a lot of different pizzas - so we could have a taste of a few.

I wouldn't go here on a date, but rather for a "night out" with mates- as there is a dancefloor after supper

A hip little eatery nestled in between the many bars and clubs of Cape Town's infamous long street. This spot is perfect for a quick bite, after work drinks and various social gatherings. Not only does Sgt Pepper do an amazing 'buy one get one free' pizza special every Tuesday but come around Friday at midnight the eatery turns into a bit of a club, with tables moved and a dance floor setup. A few personal favourites on the menu include the Tannie Tandoori and Lord Camembert pizzas. Tasty food, a good vibe and a perfect balcony for long street people watching, a definite go-to spot for most occasions.

Love the vibe here! Good food, prices and staff! Deon, the bartender, is epic! Actually going there tonight for some pizza and beer!

After a tiring flight from Jhb to Cpt, a few of us decided to troll Long Street on a Sunday night looking for a bite to eat. We walked quite a bit and settled on trying Sgt Pepper.
They have outdoor seating on their balcony which was great as it was surprisingly hot on this autumm evening. It was relatively busy so I was not expecting great service. And hey, this is Cpt, everyone is chilled :)

I had a strawberry mojito and tandoori chicken pizza. It was really good with a thin crispy crust, just how I like it. The others didn't receive the best service unfortunately. The food ordered was not available and we only got told 30mins after ordering.

Not a bad place for drinks, if you're not that hungry and are willing to wait for food

We went to Sgt peppers on a Friday night and watched the transformation from trendy restaurant to trendier night spot – As the evening progresses the tables seem to disappear making way for a dance floor and a DJ that slowly develops the mood.

The drinks were great and kept flowing, they have a nice selection of cocktails including a mango and chilli daiquiri which I loved.

Being a good size group we ordered a selection off their menu and shared to get a taste of as much as possible.

Their Chilli poppers made for a nice change in that you got jalapeno and piquante pepper poppers (yes that’s a mouthful) with a range of dips. The pizzas are tasty and they have the usual favourites as well as some creative additions.

To top off the evening we shared a dessert calzone – Definitely made for sharing it is a large dessert with a wonderful balance of tart and sweet flavours.

I happened to drop my phone on the way out – Thank you to the manager who happened to pick it up - he stored it safely until we could collect it the next day. It does not happen often and it was a VERY pleasant surprise to be able to get my phone back!
