The pizza was delicious - everything I expect from NY Slice, the best pizza in Cape Town. I don't know if it's the dough or the sauce or the only real pepperoni in the Cape, but it is so darned good. The staff was pleasant and helpful - and free delivery in Claremont! I sense a lot of pizza in my future.

I ordered ahead of time over the phone but by the time I arrived to collect, they messed up my order and I had to wait anyway. They did make it up to me by adding extra pepperoni and cheese though which was nice. Apart from the service and the awkward location (it's difficult to find a parking in Claremont Main Road) the guys behind the counter are talkative and friendly. The pepperoni pizza itself was huge and loaded with flavour. They also got the crispy base spot on! I really dig the New York vibe and I can vouch that it tastes basically exactly the same as the real deal!
Hands down the best pizza place I've been to...slices are massive and so tasty...if you a pizza fan it's a must go to....keep up the good work
We decides to give it a go. Had mushroom vegetarian slices on 2 separate nights and both times pizza was delicious. Definately place to go to. Very good value and convenient for take away. Hard rock blasting - keep up the good work.
Friendly environment with a nice vibe from the good music. Everyone behind the counter were so quick to help us and the lady ringing up our order was lots of fun. We had the Manhattan pizza and the mushroom pizza, both really delicious.
One of the best pizzas I’ve had in SA, not only inspired by NY pies, but pretty GD close to nailing the flavors as well. Nice solid bases NY cuts (size : yes does matter) and they are licensed so can get a cold one while enjoying your pizza. Also opened late unlike most places in CT

Adorable unpretentious and tasty pizza done like the Italians. Limited seating but plenty of standing room. Only four pizzas on the menu. Don’t go if you are posh and need a fancy menu but do go if you enjoy delicious and amazing food. Ridiculously cheap. Don’t be fooled by the large slices you will need a few - best to order a whole pizza
Decent pizza for the size & price. Plus they serve beer quarts :) it's best for a quick bite and chill session with friends but it's quite small so don't expect a comfortable restaurant experience
Value for money , super convenient and yummy. Thick, cheesy, huge slices of pizza perfectly baked and so filling.

I've been in the restaurant business since I was a kid, and NY Pizza Slice is a great pizza. Decent crust, good tomato base, and when you get a slice hot out of the oven, absolutely delicious. It is a true pizza, not some mish-mash slapped together. I was so impressed I went back several times, and was never disappointed. Wake up, people, this is a great pizza!

Cheat meal , Happy, sad , hanging balls , quick snack with mates before and AFTER burning the mid night oil... never seems to let me down!! Friendly and happy staff always!! Surprised at how good the pizza is here. I'm not sure if it's close to the real deal (I'm yet to visit New York), but it definitely kicks other fast food pizzas' butt!

Loved every bite! Love how big the pizza slice is! Bleak that the spinning wheel was broken we were very keen to try it out! Good service and tasty pizza! Only downfall the place is really small and when it's full it's hard to eat the pizza standing.
Generous portions for the price you pay. The doughiness of the pizza was perfect! The toppings were good. However the limited seating does hamper the NY Slice experience as my friends and I were very cramped. The service was super fast! Highly recommend trying their pizza if you want a quick bite!

New York slice is a perfect stop for pizza on the go. Their gigantic pizza's are definitely a sight to behold. The Garden's branch is very small with barely any seating. The shop is simple and decor is nonexistent, although this is part of the charm. Their menu is limited but all the pizza's look delicious. We had a slice of the pepperoni pizza. The slice of pizza was as fresh as it gets, the base was well cooked and the toppings were generous. The slice of pizza was overflowing over the sides of the paper plate. We will definitely return for another slice!
NY Slice is such a convenient spot for pizza on the go. It's quick, unless you have to wait a bit for a new pizza to come out of the oven. The pizza can be bought by the slice or you can order the whole thing, which is quite massive. It's tasty but can be a little too doughy if that's not your preference. For me the best part is that they close a little later than other restaurants on Kloof so you can always grab a slice if you are feeling peckish later on in the evening.
I recently tried NY pizza slice and it was hands down one of the best pizzas I've ever had! We ordered the entire salami pizza for around R200 - but it was huge! And worth every penny. One pizza feeds 4 small females easily - we each had 2 slices which felt like a whole pizza each.
Their store is open until late in the evening but also does delivery. Glad I live down the road because I will definitely be ordering more often!
Absolutely love this spot for some early evening/late night mid-beers pizza! Excellent vibe from the guys behind the counter and at the oven, seriously quick service and delicious pizza! It's very difficult to pick a winner between the Pepperoni and the Buffalo Chicken so I usually get them both!
The pizza is great, fast and friendly service, while you wait you can always try your hand at the "spin the wheel" 😊, however a wider selection of choice would be great, but good spot for a quick bite none the less.
My girlfriend loves New York slice too much! She eats it at least once a week - partly to stave off her hanger/rage as its v convenient and always open. NY slice really is a great addition to Kloof St.
An oldie but a goodie. The pepperoni pizza is a winner and it makes for a perfect snack after a few drinks. Have been back here many times.
This place makes for the perfect late night bite, delicious and reasonably priced. It's a perfect go-to after a few drinks! Try the margarita and the buffalo chicken.

Simple menu but really good pizza. The buffalo chicken hits the spot everytime and its always a pleasure to walk in store. We were introduced to the place when they had a pokemon go special for free pizza. Very clever
Early Sunday Morning on route to the waterfront we decided to take a drive up Long and Try this out . All i can say is wow . The owner is hands on and this pizza is really good and offered a complementary Mojito well we waited which was also really good which he claimed was left overs from the party the night before , hey im not complaining lol . definitely wont wait long before i am back here
my girlfriend and i really love this place,. I think we are both grateful that it's so far from home or we would be really fat. all the pizzas are great though the soho is unanimously the best pizza they offer. you can always tell great pizza by how enjoyable the margherita is and at NY slice it is amazing. their open until 2am on weekends which makes it the perfect end to your nights out on the scene, drinks are a bit pricey but they are otherwise very reasonably priced.
Craving a good cheesy slice of Pizza :) if you need something to fill you up, if you on the go - so worth it an really affordable.. can't there be more of NY slice pizza branches in other suburbs of C.T.

Went here for a change after a night out instead of McDonalds and it was definitely worth it. Great tasting pizza at a fairly decent price. It's also one of the only pizza restaurants I can think of that stays open until very late.
The name says it all, grab a slice of pizza, maby even a beer, sit at the the little window and people watch. I wouldn't take a girl on a date here but it's a nice pre game spot. Plus pizzas are great value and tasty. Beer is cheap.

This quaint pizzeria takes you straight into underground New York when you step through the door. The pizzas, which can be purchased in slices or a whole pizza are served in very large portions, definitely worth the money. The customer service was good, nothing outstanding but nothing to complain about. Would definitely recommend it for a quick bite.
NY Slice is so good it might become problematic for me. Brilliant for a quick bite on the go before drinks. Delicious. And ordering a massive full pizza is great for when you have friends over.

Situated on the busy Kloof Street in Cape Town, the place itself is rather cramped and I wasn't too keen on their seating arrangements which is basically on the street. The ambience wasn't too bad and the staff was energetic
Their slices are enormous but as far as taste goes, I wasn't really blown away, rather average and a little.
Super cool experience. The staff was super friendly and the pizza is massive ! It tastes like pizza, not super special. What makes this plave cool is that its different to other pizza places. It's a cute place, I wouldnt sit down but would definately go back.

AMAZING. I've tasted real NY pizza and OMG what a trip through memory lane a bite of this pizza took me on. Love the vibe and the taste was spot on.
While waiting 1 hour for a freshly made "pie" as it is called (50cm pizza), my friend I were looking around the place and noticed a leaderboard for the 5 quickest times to eat this pizza, which if you work it out, is actually 2.7 times the size of a normal large pizza (30cm). I will definetely be coming back to try my hand at this mighty feat. We had half chicken peppadew and half mince onion and parsley, I highly recommend you try the combo as the flavours really compliment. The pizza is a bit doughy though and I highly recommend not having the plain.
I could have NY slice at any time of the day/eve. Once we had it for breakfast, I mean it's not the healthiest choice buts it's so delicious! I am generally a slow eater but I definitely waste no time on these pizza slices even with its large size. I love the Buffalo chicken, Manhattan and Pepperoni.
The vibe at NY slice is very chilled and laid back which suits a pizza place as generally it's comfort, after party food. The prices are also extremely reasonable. Will definitely be back for more cheesy goodness!😝
Not quite but pretty close to authentic NY style pizza. We ordered take-out on Saturday evening, which arrived 35min later nice and warm - always a risk when ordering takeout pizza. We had a mixed Manhattan and Staten Island. Tasty and filling - at 50cm this is a huge pizza (very American) and good value for money. A great idea when having the family for weekend/weeknight pizza or the boys around for weekend football/rugby.
Great takeaway NY style pizza. I had a slice of the pepperoni pizza which was great and apparently the best. The bases are thick and there is loads of tomato. The slices are also super big.
A small venue, this really is more of a take-away spot, but the puzza is large, well-priced and tasty. Even my fussy husband aporoves. Great for a quick snack when you're in town. The staff have also always been friendly and happy to chat.
Really big pizza! I have been to Johns in New York so I can vouch for the size being the same. Well done NY Slice for bringing the LARGE to Cape Town. It's a very small spot so you can't really sit down and relax. More of a grab and go place. I have enjoyed the pizza I have eaten there on a few different occasions. I also shot an advert nearby and the production team ordered like 20 pizzas. They went down so well after a long day of shooting. Apart from the size though, the pizza doesn't blow my mind. I have had much better pizza at other spots around Cape Town. I get that it is straight up NY pizza, but from what I saw on the display, options are limited. I will go back though and give it another go soon, as it is very convenient. Don't take my word for it, pop in and give it a try.
The picture says it all!! We ordered some pizzas among friends to watch the rugby! It was simply delicious! Decently sized so that four large pizzas left us with left overs as well! Been here a few times already, this little place on kloof is just great. The one large slice serving of pizza is a twist on your usual pizza night outs. The pizza has a thin but crispy crust topped with a generous amount of cheese - authentic NY. They generally only serve about three different pizzas at any time. They offer a range of craft beers to accompany your pizza. Service is always friendly and served with a smile.
Delicious and affordable, this is the perfect place to grab some food on the run! The slices are ENORMOUS. Like 30cm long. It's not really a sit down place, but if you and a mate have time for a quick beer and a slice I would recommend.

Fantastic little spot for a big old slice of traditional New York pizza. I had Pepperoni and it was delicious. Definitely different to Italian style pizza. My husband who has had the real deal in New York says it's totally up there with NY pizza. Eat at a bar stool or on the run. What a treat!

Absolutely loved NY Slice Pizza! I've been meaning to pop by for ages and it just kept slipping my mind, but I finally got my butt there (thanks, Eskom) and I'm in love with their pizza.
One of the things I really appreciate about this spot is not having to order an entire pizza. When I do go out and get pizza, I generally end up eating the entire thing when honestly I only really needed half... Fatty! So the fact that I can grab 2 (huge) slices for the price of half of what other restaurants charge is amazing!
The variety of pizza is pretty limited and the toppings are nothing magical, but despite their simplicity, they do taste incredible! I grabbed a slice of the Soho and the Pepperoni, and I was not disappointed at all.
They have a cool little wheel of fortune that you pay R5 to spin, and if you're lucky you can get a bunch of things for free. Buuuut if you're unlucky, you may end up paying for more things than you bargained for. I was too scared to do it on my first visit, but I'll definitely try it out next time.
The service is great, the guys are friendly, and the restaurant is more of a grab and go. You can grab a stool though and watch the buzz on Kloof Street which is pretty rad.
Overall, a fun spot with good pizza, a chilled vibe at affordable prices. It brought back some fond memories of my trip to NYC and living off of $1 pizza because... poor traveler ;) Definitely worth a visit!

We stopped in at NY Slice on a whim yesterday after seeing a sign for R14.50 local beers (it was Sunday Funday, after all). We decided to grab a quick pizza as well, and both got the Manhattan, which is essentially a margarita pizza. The slices are huge! The pizza was good, but could have been spiced up a bit more. Next time we want to try to pepperoni, which looks very good.
Love this style! Not so much a restaurant as a 'hole in the wall from which you can get food'. Like a fancy food cart. With delicious pizza. Ok I'm overselling it.
NY Slice is a small establishment with a big heart for pizza. Order a full pizza (or just a slice) of American-style pizza, which you can take home or enjoy at the counter while watching passer-bys on Kloof Street (who will undoubtedly be staring at you, green with jealousy).
Open all sorts of hours in the night, which makes the perfect late night snack available when you need it. Just saying.
My kid's favourite pizza spot - I think it the size of the pizzas that blow them away. Menu limited, but pizza made and cooked with love and they do incredible things out of what is essentially a hole in the wall. It feels sincere, which makes a change from Col' Cacchio bollocks...

We had tried different pizzas- my son's favorite was the 'New Yorker', the 'Manhattan' was also lekker, there was a 'Bronx' & whole selection of different pizzas.
We really enjoyed it, the prices are very reasonable & the staff friendly. My son will make sure that we will visit again soon!! 🍕😊

Best Pizza on the whole of Kloof - indeedly dee. Talent and the rest of the staff are always welcoming cheery and deal with BIG volumes of pizza slices well. Prices have recently gone up though so it's less affordable, but that'd more a sign of the stormy times. Would prefer of they kept the Italian herb and pepper grinder rather than the powdered stuff. And labeled the type of oil used in the garlic en chjilly, ne! Also keep the brilliant share-the-Love initiative going, where you can buy someone a donation slice for R15.!✨🙌🍕

Always a good time and always packs a surprise. Last I was there a dude spun the lucky wheel and won shots which he shared around as he high fived every other patron. The time before I watched someone get arrested across the street.
