The location of this restaurant is superb! You have the Zeitz Mocca Museum a stone throw away, the Waterfront is 2 staircases away, the Silo Hotel is a blink away, the Virgin Active Silo exclusive gym is a few skips away!
So you can literally pop in for a food and/or drink stop or to catch up on emails or to take that virtual meeting that’s interrupting your chilled Friday.

My husband and I had a wonderful time at the Yard on Valentine’s Day. Great atmosphere and great service. The food was okay. My husband would have loved his steak with veggies but they don’t have it on their menu. Kelly the general manager is doing an amazing job there. I could sit there the whole day that’s how wonderful the place is.

My review here is mainly about the service received.
Nobody spoke to us when we arrived. We eventually just went inside and chose a seat. Normally someone would take you to a table. We had to wait a bit to receive some service. The waiter also missed certain things like when I asked for water - we ended up just leaving it.
With regards to the food, there was no option to have the fish and chips grilled, which is quite odd.

An absolute gem. This resturant is a must try for all the dosa lovers. I love their breakfast dosa and mango lassi.
When you are here, do try the Bombay Breakfast which consists of a mild lamb sausage, flat naan bread, roasted rosa tomatoes, cooked spinach, spiced scrambled eggs and buttered lentil (dal makhani).
The aroma from the kitchen is divine and the food is delicious.

I was a bit sceptical at first - fusion food, but the food was awesome. Very nice setting. We did get a bit lost trying to find the parking garage but it was worth it. Pricing is reasonable and they make a killer margarita. Definitely worth a try if you feel like a relaxed meal with great flavours.

The yard is a must visit restaurant at the V&A Waterfront. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxing with charming candle light for night time visits and a romantic spot for couples or first dates. They have done away with print out menus. Instead you scan a QR code and the menu is downloaded to your phone in pdf. The food is well portioned and delicious with a wide array to choose from. This place gets a 5 star rating from me.

Great food. Great location. Well arranged seating (both inside and outside). Great service. The mushroom sauce that came with the sirloin was to die for, and I would visit again just for the chocolate lava dessert. Burgers etc all good too. However, quite pricey (especially if you’re hosting a small group), but, as expected.

Our family went thr for supper was very nice the deco,neatness of the place on point from the moment u walk in til seating sat at a booth with our 2kids and the space for seating was enough the food was Excellent , sevice amazing friendly staff and Management felt totally comfortable with small kids i would definitely recommend this place to families it dsnt disappoint The Yard restaurant will definitely be added as a family favorite to our list of top 5 eating out places in Waterfront.

I’ve been for relaxed lunches with friends and large group lunches with work colleagues and never disappointed. Great ambiance, friendly helpful staff, an amazing choice of amazing food to cater for every dietary need. From giant beef burgers to the best ever vegetarian curry and delectable desserts this is a must go to venue for any occasion.
My next visit will be for their beautifully presented high tea.

Very nice location and ambience within the restaurant.
The food was mostly good. I did not enjoy my Tandoori chicken but the rest of our 8 strong party loved there Lamb Rogan Josh. The middle east platter we shared as a starter was tasty and the chocolate fondant dessert absolutely amazing.
However, the portion sizes are really small, and against some really steep pricing left a sour taste come bill time. A 10cm diameter naan bread costs 30 bucks!
All in all it was a good night out at an unreasonable cost.

Worst experience ever. Celebrated my mom's birthday today. Booked a table for 15. Arrived after 1pm and gave our order. Food arrived an hour and 45 minutes later!!! One dish arrived 2 hours later!!! Unacceptable. When the food did arrive it came in stages. We had 4 family members finish their meal while the rest of us waited for ours . Soggy burgers and terrible service. Poor communication between the waiters and I think understaffed kitchen staff. The experience almost ruined my mom's birthday! Safe to say we will not be visiting this establishment again.

Arrived with no Front of House to greet us and had a rather grumpy waitress who point blank ignored us for a good few minutes. Even though we tried to get someone’s attention, walk-ins were attended to before us! When we eventually got someone’s attention and provided proof of our reservation (which was not on their hand written list), the staff seemed very reluctant to help and thought it might be a good idea to seat us right next to the band (with a 3yr old toddler and 5 month old baby!). Even though we were told a table would be forthcoming, it just didn’t happen. Eventually left with my party of 7 in tow. Safe to say we will not be returning to this utterly disappointing establishment.
