Great little spot, just a few tables. Had the winter special which is R295 for three courses. The food was delicious Italian and excellent service. The mains we had were amazing, melt in your mouth steak and perfectly grilled lamb chops. Make sure you try the most silky panna cotta drizzled with a wonderful caramel sauce.

First time visit to Amore but not the last. Established four years ago this Italian gem was a wonderful surprise. From chic decor to an actual Italian in the kitchen, excellent service and a small but a something for everyone menu and good beverage options, its a perfect place for meals with friends or colleagues. Genuine flavours and ingredients. Relatively small so booking would be a good idea. We tried the salad to start, ravioli with gorgonzola cheese, and ended with excellent choice of deserts. Classier and tastier than expected. A surprise appetiser in a shot glass was also excellent and unexpected.

Kicco and Dessy are the perfect hosts. We let Dessy take control of our meal selection paired with the recommended wine and it was spot on! Small quaint restaurant seats 25. Highly, highly recommended. Be prepared to pay but it is definitely worth every cent spent. No disappoints guaranteed!!

A friend brought me an exquisite birthday cake as a gift - it was not well received by the manager. "I was not warned about this" and "I will have to charge you if you eat it". That spoiled it for me.

We went to Amore restaurant in Kenilworth on Wednesdsy night. Husband (chef)and wife team, one waiter, fantastic service. Small restaurant, authentic Italian. Starters were 1x Gnocchi and 3x ravioli. Delicious! Mains were 3 x lamb chops and 1 x chicken breasts. Amazing! Dessert 2x coconut milk semifreddo with pear and a divine caramel sauce, and 2 x gelato (2 yummy flavours) Sublime!! A small menu which changes regularly. Not licensed. Was tempted to keep this a secret! We will be back again and again.

Although Amore now has a wine Licence we opted to open our Graham Beck Brut Zero which was yum!! We then enjoy a glass of the house red, it's delicious! Local I believe!!

Awesome food and fantastic hosts!! The butternut ravioli was divine!! And as for the asparagus wrapped in bacon with layered aubergine mozzarella and tomato starter...awesome! My hubby devoured the tripe!! Definitely an experience I will go back for! As for the waiter and manageress - so friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a lovely evening!

What a great, authentic Italian restaurant!! Going there feels like you are in someone's home. Our friends are regulars and we were treated as such. A simple but massively high quality menu with fresh ingredients prepared while you wait...not for long!! I had prosciutto and melon and their awesome lamb chops, followed by beautiful home made ice cream. Nice wine list too. Give it a go!!! �

We had our 4th visit there last week. It just gets better and better. The lamb chops are wonderful but so is the fish so its difficult to make a choice. The whole experience is great and we have never managed four courses. The house wine is good, particularly the red. The decor and atmosphere is modern, sophisticated and a delight. A fifth visit next week!

Yesterday evening I had the most unfortunate experience at this restaurant. My wife ordered the special of three courses and I ordered a main which I explained to the owner/manageress and explained that we would be sharing the first course and she said she would split it on to two plates. On receipt of the bill I noticed that each course had been itemised instead of accumulated as the special. Assuming that the owner had over looked this, I queried it with her and was told that under the special it was written that there was no sharing, and as we had shared the first course the special had now become itemised. Which incidentally was not explained to me when I ordered. I explained I eat out regularly and have visited their restaurant on more than one occasion and have never been charged like this and said I will pay the bill but will never return. To which she replied, ‘that I am putting her on the spot’. To which I replied, ‘How can I be when I have offered to pay but will never return’. To which she took my card and I paid. .

Went here on a recommendation from a friend. This is not your typical hole-in-the wall restaurant as it's fresh and clean and new but has amazing food and is an absolute gem. Will definitely be back for the great and classic Italian 👌🏼

A quiet Saturday evening, a previous recommendation, and we tried Amore for the first time. <br/><br/>It's tiny, so very intimate, with roughly ten tables, and minimal staff. The menu is traditional Italian in format, small in choices, and interesting. Our waiter was very pleasant, and efficient, even though he was the only waiter. <br/><br/>We received a tomato and garlic bruschetta in addition to our primi of gnocchi with pancetta and asparagus x2 and tortelli with butternut - gnocchi was better. We followed this with kingklip in tomato, caper, olive white wine sauce x2 and brandy fillet with artichokes - kingklip was better. Finally we semi-shared a chocolate pannacotta and pear torte - torte was better. Bottle of Kleine Zalze Chenin and water. <br/><br/>Verdict was the food was nice, but at this scale I would prefer a very traditional, family favourite style ie dishes that the chef ate at his grandparents or at family meals, not local ingredients with an Italian twist. I think it's not different enough to attract a loyal following. Nice, but we'll try a new spot next time

Amore is cute and quaint and somewhere I drove passed a million times before I realized that it was a restaurant. It has very few tables, which makes for an intimate dining experience.<br/><br/>The food is what I would imagine to be authentic Italian, or something close to it. Butternut ravioli is exceptional. I had the gnocchi as a main, which was delicious too although almost too small to have as a main (which it's not meant to be)<br/><br/>The service was efficient and friendly. The prices are on the higher side.. and worth it.

I had heard great things about Amore and was excited to try it. The restaurant is small and intimate, tastefully decorated, and the service was great. Our primi piatti course was so delicious - I had the butternut ravioli in gorgonzola cream which was amazing, I licked my plate clean! The prawn gnocchi and pear salad had by the rest of the table were also great. Sadly however, the starters gave us high expectations for our main courses and we were quite disappointed. While the food was good (we had the linefish and the lamb chops), it wasn't amazing, and the portions were very small for the high price tag.<br/><br/>I'll be back for the ravioli, but won't bother with a main course next time.

Loved the food but the restaurant was full and unbearably noisy. Can't go back until either carpets are down(not really practical for a restaurant ) or the ceiling is baffled by acoustic tiles.

My husband and I went for our first anniversary and we absolutely loved it. Casual, elegant and, most importantly, delicious! My only negative comment is that it's slightly echoey. Other than that, it's a great option for a deliciously authentic Italian meal.
