The vibes were immaculate.
Firstly, the service. The waiters were so nice, friendly and patient. They explained the menu well and treated me well. 10/10 awesome servers.
Secondly, the food. I. Love. Mochi. So I'm a bit picky, but overall I really enjoyed what I ordered.
1. The vegan mitarashi dango
2. The milk tart mochi (vegan)
3. Iced Americano
I didn't know what to expect with the Mitarashi dango but boy was I happy. It was soft and squishy, but also slightly crispy. The sauce was buttery, salty and sweet and basically everything just worked.
The milk tart mochi was super soft and squishy and the filling reminded me of milk tart, but not too sweet with a hint of cinnemon. The only negative I have to say about it was that it was a bit grainy, which I didn't like.
All in all though I'd definitely go again, and order again ^^

Feels like a bit of Tokyo, right here in ct. Clean well designed, Instagram friendly restaurant.
After eating a lot for lunch, all I could manage was the Japanese cheesecake and mochi with macha iced tea. Everything I tasted was just ideal, takes you back to japan in an instant. I will definitely go back here to try more of the menu.

What an excellent little place! Perfect for a light lunch, breakfast or snack!
My husband has been to Japan and always tells me he wants to go back for the food and we tried this place today and oh my greatnesss… the mochi! Excellent.
Amazing flavours, well priced and authentic (according to hubby) very close to what he was craving from Japan.
We sampled a few of the pan (milk bread) options, some matcha tea and bought a whole bunch of mochi. The pink nesquick flavour was our favourite. A must visit spot for some yummy unique treats.

I was in this place a few months ago, and I enjoyed it! The place is decorated very nicely, and the pretty-looking desserts only complete the atmosphere. I liked the matcha ice cream, and I highly recommend it for tasting! It was moderately sweet, and the delicious and sugary toppings in Oreo crumbles, motti and tapioca balls just complimented the whole flavour. The iced latte coffee, however, was rather mediocre. Mochi Mochi is quite a pricey place, as can be demonstrated by the small mochi balls, which cost R15 each. However, it is worth it. You will have an excellent chance to familiarize yourself with Japanese desserts and savoury foods. I will definitely revisit this place soon!

It really has a unique ambiance which in turn I loved. Certainly a place I recommend for anyone in Cape Town or visiting Cape Town.
I am without a doubt going back for the delicious treats and tasty foods.

Thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered from the croque Monsieur to the hotdogs and truffles for dessert. Great little gem for some delicious different treats

Stepping into the space, creates a whimsical feeling, and everyone is welcomed. Loved that Mochi Mochi had a variety of vegan options. Which meant that the bill became pretty steep quickly 🤣. However, this experience was worth it!
The dessert mochi: the salted caramel stood out for me, as it reminded me of the caramel bars that you could store in the fridge, which I use to enjoy as a child.
The Japanese cheesecake: light and fluffy. The flavour of the cake is so delicate. The caramel sauce is an additional option. However, I found the sauce was too salty for me.
Dango: crunchy outer layer, airy inner layer, wonderful caramel/toffee like sauce. Bite size perfection.
Theonista Cream soda: very subtle. Next time I’d prefer soda/sparkling water, as this will assist to cleanse my palate between each dish.
The environment has many seating options, and are family friendly. The staff are friendly and helpful as well.
Please note: The space is pretty popular, and therefore brace yourself for the queue. The downside of a placed order, is that if you would like to try another item off their menu, you’d have to queue again. (Then cueing an internal debate, which would go as follows; how desperately do I want the item and do I have the luxury of time to stand in a queue again?).
Also, the earlier during the day you arrive at Mochi Mochi, you’ll be able to order from their entire menu, as the day progresses items get sold out!

This was a fun place to go.
Very friendly staff, lots of variety of Japanese cuisine.
I tried a few things there. The flavors were very interesting and unique. The Mochi Anpan was my favorite...
We also got a few Mochi Truffles to try. My favorite is the Milk Tart flavor. That stuff is addictive.

A pretty awesome experience as you don't encounter places like this often. Our waitress was friendly and accommodating and the food was certainly interesting. It may not be everyone's taste, but definitely worth the visit.

The mochi here is so so good, they have a large variety of interesting flavours and it’s super fresh and yum. The matcha latte here was very good, would have just liked if my matcha arrived with my partners matcha, I got mine and by the time his arrived I was finished. The melon pan is really good, not too sweet. The bun with red bean paste and mochi inside was my least favourite, but only because I don’t like red bean paste. The egg mayo was interesting and good savoury option, its very rich. The wagyu stuffed bun almost taste like a burger and was really interesting. They also sell cool Japanese chopsticks, matcha, preserves etc

I would love to rate this place 4.5 stars. Surprisingly tasty mochi in Cape Town! My flat white was strong enough, buns were alright (not so sure about miso flavour on something sweet), japanese cheese cake was great, mochi was delicious!😋
Updated 2023: The new location is more spacious and comfortable in Heritage Square. The selection of teas and mochi flavours are amazing! Try their Mochi Anpan (mochi bun). Ample street parking. New rating= 5star!

I freaking LOVE Mochi Mochi. In fact, I love them so much I have Mochi Mochi merch so I can spread the good vibes around.
Firstly, this spot is definitely adult and kid friendly. They have amazing fresh Mochi that I always make time for.
Secondly, their drinks are great. I love Matcha and I love that I can get a warm oat-milk matcha latte to just ground me. They also do an excellent pour over coffee that I can highly recommend.
Besides the Matcha ice cream, incredible stash, their hot dogs are also fantastic! Great snap to the dog itself and the flavours are very umami.

If you are looking for something new and completely mind-blowing to try to visit Mochi Mochi. Recommend the milk tart mochi

Had a marvelous time there. I found them on Instagram and finally got the opportunity to visit. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is immaculate, and the mochi is fantastic. Thank you for the experience. I’ll definitely visit again some time.

I went there with some friends for dessert. We got our orders to go and the staffs were very friendly.
The whole place was well-decorated and cute. Everything was on theme and the atmosphere and vibes were definitely up there.
Their Matcha Lemonade was quite sour and it went well with their sweet treats but can be a bit overwhelming on its own.
Their mochi were well-made and the textures are great. They were light and sweet and the mochi ice cream was really good.
The prices are a bit high but it's a great place for drinks and treats.
