Review Love Thy Neighbour - Cape Town Central

We stumbled on this place because of the beautiful quote on the wall outside! The food was fresh and good! I was also a huge fan of the chill music, creating a very relaxed vibe. More than anything, the service was amazing. Really genuine, fun and kind people. I recommend trying this place!

Beautiful spot with so much heart. The staff is sooo friendly and make you feel welcome. I love that they make their food an name proud and provide to the less fortunate people as they do live their neighbours. Come here, order a drink and relax. You won’t be disappointed

This is a little place that offers great food at a reasonable prices. The pizzas was so good that I had to come back the next day for another one.

My friends and I attended an event here and they only had 2 bartenders working! The place was packed and buzzing, but waiting to order drinks was an irratation. Overall the DJ and the vibe made up for everything and I thoroughly enjoyed my experience!

Great atmosphere. The minimum age requirement is 18 and they check Ids. Great place to visit on first Thursday

Red Stub Nose from the grill - sooooo good. Like the outdoor space, indoors isn't doing it for me

Always great to pop in for a drink, they have quite a large selection, good for watching sport too. It does have stairs leading up to the area so not disabled friendly. Drinks are reasonably priced, they also sell food. There is a trendy crowd that hangs out and popular with students.

I may not have experienced the place myself but I wish to commend them for the good that they do. I work not to far from there and pass Love they neighbour on Bree street everyday.I have,on more than one occasion, seen the outside area packed with homeless and less fortunate people of all ages.I wondered what it was about.... Until someone told me that they feed these people.I was immediately filled with heartfelt emotion and gratitude and for that I wanted to say THANK YOU. Thank you for your kindness and goodwill..

Really amazing atmosphere, I would highly recommend this spot, food is amazing, really put of this world, all on the fire! Feeling like chilled with an old school feel after a good meal, they're attached to Hanks Olde Irish, a really decent whiskey bar. head out there!!

Best freshly caught fish in Cape Town! Good, wholesome, unpretentious food. Aubergine fries were delicious. Tarama was the best I’ve had ever. Can’t wait to go back.

One of my favourite venues in bree: great outdoor area under a marquee with loads of seating space. Lovely ambient environment with a fire oven constantly blazing to make all their food and pizzas. The burger I had once there is decent but not the most memorable. Food is quite pricey, but to be expected in bree street

What a vibe on a Friday night. Chilly evening, beautiful red wine, open fire cooking whole fish and meaty souvla, and a serious vibe. The food is delicious with a homely Greek flare. Try the fire roasted olives, they will keep you coming back for more.

Loved the lamb bowl with the grains instead of pita, was fresh and tasty and the lamb was subtlety spiced. The chopped salad was delicious, amazing crunchy textures, the light creme fraiche dressing pulls it all together.

Great spot in the CBD to meet up with friends after a long day. There menu offers a few really unique dishes, and mostly tapas so you can pick and try a few! You absolutely have to have their fried aubergine. They look like fries and come served with date molasses, mint and whipped feta which surprised me with how delicious it was. The calamari is also wonderful and deserves a try.

The waiters were all very friend sky and helpful but the manager kept shouting at the staff in front of us which was off putting.

The food is very simplistic yet well made and tasty. I do think that some more effort should be made in the presentation and there should be more to the meal. It feels like the meals lack refinement. I like that the meat is braaied in front of you.

I absolutely loved eating at Love Thy Neighbour. The cuisine is authentically Greek/Cypriot but has been modernized. The ingredients are locally and consciously sourced and the menu is seasonal. Each dish was better than the previous one, from the calamari through to the horta and sheftalia which tasted as good as my grandfather used to make.

The beef and the pork wraps were DELICIOUS! All flavours worked so well together . The taste was perfect as well as the presentation . The service was also excellent .LTN is definitely a spot I'll be visiting again soon.

Organic. Fresh. Tasty! A perfect spot for a quick lunch or afternoon drinks. Their service was warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere was very laid back. I'm definitely going back again👌🏽

We had a brilliant lunch at Love Thy Neighbor. The roasted olives, halloumi and calamari were delicious. The fried aubergine was one of the best things I've eaten in a while. We drank delicious wine and ended our lunch with the Loukoumades- doughnut balls covered in chocolate and hazel nuts. Can't wait to visit again!

We've only been for drinks here but have never been disappointed by the service. They have a great selection of beers. I love the large sturdy wooden tables that are well spaced from each other. The braai/cooking section outside close to the tables adds a great touch and the smells from their braai in the open space is mouth watering.

I haven't quite paid much attention to their food menu but will be back some time to try out your veg mains.

EDIT: the souvlaki here is about a 3/5. See comment for description. We had the roasted olives as a snack and it was amazing. This place wins with their snacks.

Stumbled upon this little gem last night and boy am I glad. Love Thy Neighbour is at the old @Union building, which has now been upgraded to a stunning cafe style dinning area, with dim lighting and a good selection of local wines, LTN makes for a perfect date night, with an outside section for smoking and larger groups, and of course inside for your more intimate dinning experience. We received exceptional service from Bobby, and the food was amazing! The chicken dish was served fresh off the grill and was done to perfection. I will definitely return to taste some more dishes on the menu.

Nothing helps you wind down after a long week quite like an ice cold, boozy beverage in a vibey venue. We decided to head to Weinhaus & Biergarten for a before-dinner drink with friends. It turns out what used to be a German beer garden is now replaced with a pub called Love Thy Neighbour.

The stone courtyard is chilled yet vibey with long wooden tables, cobblestones and twinkling lights to add to the ambience. The inside is small yet cosy.

Great selection of craft beers available and although beer is the main beverage of choice, there is also a selection of wines to choose from.

They also have a food menu and you can expect anything from Meze dishes to Karoo Lamb chops to Loukoumades if you crave for something sweet.

It is a great place in the CBD to unwind and enjoy a drink.
We stopped here for drinks one rainy afternoon. We had come for Weinhaus & Biergarten but it's gone. In its place is Love Thy Neighbour. Staff stood outside blocking the doorway so we had to ask if they were actually open. The interior is small but cosy. We asked for a table as there were 2 open and were told the one table had to be cleaned and the other was booked for 7pm. As it was 5pm we said we were just having drinks. Not the most welcoming reception.

The Mediterranean menu is small, serving unusual & interesting tapas (marinated olives, whitebait, taramasalata, grilled aubergine, saganaki halloumi, squid or pickled octopus) mains (fish, chicken, lamb chops, a burger, lamb & pork sausage, a veggie dish) and sides (salads, greens and grains) and one dessert being Loukoumades (Cypriot donuts). An eclectic and unique menu that we may have to try another time.

We had three beers (Newlands Spring Weiss, Devils Peak lager) and white wine between us.

BigJoe Sharese Hunt Glen Hunt

This is my absolute favourite place in the CBD.

The quality of the food is spectacular! Everything is of the highest quality. Each and every dish is better then the last!
The staff are welcoming and passionate about this little restaurant. It really does make a world of difference.

When you're in the mood for a meze style meal in a relaxed courtyard environment... make sure you give Love Thy Neighbour, a try!

Such delicious food and people! Highly recommend Love Thy Neighbor. Best Hummus in Cape Town by far. The staff and atmosphere are also big winners.

The food has been exceptional ever since the change of ownership and ever better since the re-launch. Greek meze done right. One of the only places to sit outside and enjoy an ice cold beer, good music, even better food and friendly staff. I'll definitely be coming back soon.

One of the best burgers I've ever tasted, really, really good!! Definitely a recommendation! 👏 Not to mention really friendly staff! :) Thanks so much!
