Review Cafe Manhattan - Cape Town Central

Fun!!! Colorful, crowded, classic bar food. I got the vegetable platter which was giant and not just the stereotypical healthy vegetables, also had onion rings, fries all sorts of stuff. The milkshake was good too. Also got a salad, although wasn’t a fan of the taco shell bowl they put the salad in to be honest… nevertheless, still a great place.

Lovely place we came across. Super friendly staff all around. Cool outdoor dining even in a light rain. Great for people watching. The place is large enough (without feeling huge) to host a bar (with tv), dining area and outdoor seating. Menu is mainly pub grub with burgers, pastas, and salads. We enjoyed salads, burger and the very large roasted vegetables platter. This platter is for sharing. Extensive drink menu. Recommend and would return.

I'm told that lots of gay bars and clubs in Cape Town have closed down. Cafe Manhattan remains sands I can understand why. They have a great vibe, super friendly staff and great music. I actually think the music there was better than the club we went to later. Had a hilarious incident where the top of my pepper mill came off and covered my potato wedges in pepper. Our waitress didn't bat an eyelid, took it away and brought us a fresh plate of food.

Great spot for a drink and/or meal. Service is super-friendly and engaging taking a minute to really connect. We shared a Greek salad then had a filet and ribeye. Both steaks were perfect medium rare. The joint is very LGBT friendly and the decor reflects that in a very fun way. Convivial times at the bar too of that’s what you’re looking for.

I had the beef bobotie spring rolls with a chutney dipping sauce and salsa. The beef was fabulous as well as the chutney. My husband ordered the ostrich, but they misunderstood and brought him a steak. Even though my husband insisted that it was fine, they made up for the mistake with a free drink. The steak was so-so, but the mushroom sauce was delicious. Our server, James, was exceptionally nice and visited with us for a few minutes.

To me this is one of the most stable landmarks in Die Waterkant. It's great to have a venue that doesn't change much. Always the same friendly service, well priced drinks and good food.

Stopped in for a quick drink with friends and definitely loved the vibe and the cool space.

Love coming back to Cafe Manhattan! The energy here is always light and fun! It's perfect for a quick drinks catchup with friends, and if you're feeling peckish, they have a great bar style menu. Be warned, their burgers are massive and can easily be shared.

The service is excellent and the atmosphere is good too. It's just not a place for introverts, that's for sure. Then again if you're a shy person looking to get out there and have people approach you then it sure is your place to be.

Super cute place in the center if the city, there are seats inside but also on the terrace outside. We ordered some cocktails and they were pretty good and well done! Good atmosphere and kind staff, perfect if you want to spent couple of hours in a nice place! I recommended it for sure!

A cute little pub bar atmosphere with some limited but good food options. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. The neighbourhood around is very updated and you feel like you’re apart of the excitement here.

Tasty food, a good selection of drinks and friendly staff are the perfect combination for a great time at Cafe Manhattan. They have two patios for outdoor dining and an indoor fireplace that creates a cozy indoor space. Dont forget to check out their happy hour specials.

From walking in to receiving the freshly made meals, this spot has been an absolute experience. Worthwhile popping by and ordering their longisland iceteas and enjoying the energetic atmosphere and staff. The jalapeno poppers and chicken strips are a bomb! See you here guys!

Sorry guys.... this is the second time in a row that we have had a bad experience at Manhattens. We have been loyal customers for years, but the last two times have been horrible. Tonight we waited for an hour for a table... the place wasn't that busy either. People that came in after us were seated long before us (and no they hadn't booked) ....Eventually we were given a table outside in the corner and ordered and then we waited another 45 minutes. Eventually after checking the kitchen our waitress told us that they hadn't even stated preparing our order yet. That's when we decided to leave. Don't think we will be back.... pity because the place used to be our favorite place to grab a quick bite to eat. Very disappointing.

Sorry guys..... but Manhattan's leave a bad taste in my mouth. Never in my entire life that I felt so embarrass in front of customers. As normal we came in to have a quick late lunch before going to do clubbing. But as we walk in we the one guy stops us and said we have to wait at the door and some else will direct us to a table. We wanted to sit inside unfortunately it was a bit windy that day. Waited almost 10 minutes and the waiter come and fetch us and take us to a table but she was very irritated. We sit down and waited again like 30 minutes before she came back to take our drinks order. I mean I'm thirsty and hungry and we obviously gonna pay for it..... I will understand if it was free drinks and free food. So we decided to call the manager who seems to be annoyed aswell, and very much rude and I didn't appreciate it. We felt like animals the way he talk to us and everyone who was in the restaurant could hear him. I stop him and told him we leaving and not ever interested to come back to this place. The service is beyond poor. I will never ever sat food in that place. Will go somewhere else where atleast you get good service and good food. I will pay for a great service, but Manhattan's days are over!!!

I think it's really bad business practice to not update your Facebook page with new business hours. I checked them before driving all the way from Tableview to have lunch, just to find a note on the front door of new trading hours. I've read all the reviews lately, and it's sad to say the least. Manhattan has always been an escape for me. A lunch away or a few drinks before clubbing. From someone who's been in the Restaurant industry for more that 15 years, it seems like everyone's doing their best to run this place to the ground?? Where's your head office (Madame Zingara) Don't they know? Don't they care? This place used to be a gem, if managed correctly, should be a goldmine! Last year I got engaged there at Pride, fond memories to be ruined by this bitter pill to swallow. I don't expect anyone to reply or care, seems like all staff has given up, instead of teaming up, working a few extra hours daily to turn the situations around and restore things to be fabulous again??

I love manhattans but the service is not great. Cockails is week....taste like juice. Prices has skie rocket with sides seperate. We understand food costs goes up etc but not so much like R50 more for a burger and chips and nion rings. Iwas there last night and never seen the place so empty before. Always full full.... really need to look into this as its thr best bitger bar but its madness now with prices.

Flew to Cape Town to get married. The beautiful country of South Africa was the only place in the world that would let me marry my same-sex partner and would give a visa to a Thai national. (Shame on you, USA...I couldn't get married in my own country.) We had our first dinner as a married couple at Café Manhattan. Great vibe, charming and enthusiastic waiter, good food. Nicholas couldn't do enough to make our night special. Much appreciated. We enjoyed our visit very much and are planning to return to see more of the RSA and her warm and lovely citizens. We'll be sure to go back to Café Manhattan.

Dying a slow death... use to be a great place with great food and always busy... now there’s hardly anything to choose from the menu to eat. Very disappointing.

Have been going to Manhattans for years but on Saturday night was very disappointed with the burgers.....which we normally look forward too. Also, what's with the topless waiters ? Come on guys, you are working with food....don't mind if this was a bar....but not suited for a restaurant. The one waiter also kept on doing pull ups on his way to the kitchen at the door way when collecting food. We all appreciate good bodies......but there is a time and a place for everything.....definitely not when you are working with / serving food. It cheapens the place and not very tasteful. Don't think I will be back soon though.

Sorry to say that the food didn't meet my expectations... sloppy fries..really terrible... the hamburger okay, but nothing more... starter...Halloumi was good But even if the food wasn't anything to brag about, our waiter was really, really nice... friendly, attentive...apparently a new guy . We gave him a good tip... he deserved it...

Looking at the changes made to the new menu, decided to have one drink and move to another restaurant! To increase prices, take away the sides and having to buy them separately leaves one with a bad taste in your mouth particularly now that season is over and locals carry restaurants through winter. Drinks (R42 for a beer & R18 for a 200ml of soda) also now totally overpriced. Will definitely think twice before coming back!

I am a little shocked at the sky rocket price increase and extra prices for sides. This use to be my place but I felt taken for a ride with the heavy prices. And don't get me wrong I have money�. Clearly there is some new ownership or management But it's sad. Good luck �

honestly I took lady friends on Saturday night just past...they have never been before and the vibe that I'm used too...is not there anymore.I used to rate 5 stars ....not anymore...I'm sad.I used to rave about the times being there...Manhattans you have lost your spark for me.I'm sorry.

I’m assuming it’s under new management? Not quite the same vibe anymore, used to love the fries... but the portions are smaller, and the waiters aren’t chosen based on their physical appearance anymore I’m assuming? :-( Still a pretty cute spot though... won’t be going as often anymore

One of the best spots in Cape Town. Absolutely loved the place! The service was amazing. Went there with a friend for the 2-4-1 special for both burgers and drinks! Heaven on earth! Nothing beats specials when you’re running on a student budget. The burger was very nice, a very large portion with big MEAT😏 <br/>With the burger comes sides, fries and onions rings!! Two sides!!!!! I’m sold! Aaaaaand they have a fire place that I thoroughly enjoyed on that “winter” night! Definitely a place to visit

Not sure if they have this all the time but they have two for one drinks if you get there early enough on a Monday. We wanted somewhere warm and cozy but were reluctant as vegetarians. The falafel burger was incredible! So delicious and exactly what we wanted! Sometimes you just need a big saucy, crunchy burger with yummy sides. Worth a visit and shoutout to our waiter James for being awesome.

The staff is great! The burgers are juicy and flavorful! I love the selection of cocktails and wine they have. It’s a fun place with fun people. It’s a gay establishment but as a straight person I had tons of fun! Love it! My friend had a milkshake and he says that was great too!

Visited this restaurant on New Year's Eve for dinner, it was amazing! The food, the Location, setting, atmosphere and service were all great. <br/>I think the menu was limited because of NYE but, more options would've been great. But from the House beer, Texan wings and rib basket we ordered, those were great. <br/>Will definitely be visiting again!

I’ve been here a few times mainly for drinks. Over the years it has been the go to starting place for a night out and there had always been a nice buzz about the place. The few times I did eat food it was mainly of the burger variety and for the price disappointing. Maybe Manhattan is going through a slump or it just needs a concept tweak to keep it fresh but I have noticed a drop in vibe here.

Sunday, empty restaurant, we've ordered food at 12h15, food served at 13h05. Avocado and brie were missing in 2 plates. Food totally cold on the 3rd plate. Manager not willing to speak to us, we had to insist to see him. Very disappointed.

A fun vibe with cool music and loads of interesting evenings as the staff dress up according to different themes. The food is good and the service chilled. A great place to go for a drink or relax on a weekend. Don't expect too much and you will leave pleasantly surprised

Café Manhattan has become a great disappointment. It has lost everything that made it special. It is now a boring place, living off the remains of it's amazing past. They have lost their soul. This place is wild ! I take my hat off to the waiters/waitresses who work here, you really need to be on your A game amongst all the people and the drinks and the noise. Our waitress was first class. Never forgot a thing and we got everything we ordered. If you go, on a night such as gay pride, you will understand why I say this. The nachos are out of this world. I don't have nachos. Ever. It's always so dry because the bottom nachos don't have cheese for it. Manhattan ensures all your nachos are coated with beautifully melted cheese. The ribs are juicy and delicious. Perfect food for a crazy night full of alcohol. (Excuse the pic quality. As I said, crazy night)

Dead centre in Cape Town’s De Waterkant, Cafe Manhattan is the place to be! It’s a hotspot for cocktails and the local hangout. This little spot has a big reputation and is extremely popular. Weekends you have to be prepared to wait a bit as it can get packed and service obviously slower. Yes, it has a vibe, yes, it has amazing cocktails and light foods to fill the spot, but not a full restaurant experience though.<br/><br/>Add them to your list when you want to experience a cocktail bar in true local fashion. Try to get a table outside as their verandas have great street views.

So... we are regulars... every Friday night, we do dinner. Tonight, we get here and lo and behold, they changed their menus. Nothing wrong with that, I say... they did not change the actual dishes, so all the favourites are still there. However, they upped their prices and removed sides. So where in the past you paid R160 for a steak, you now not only pay an additional R20, you now also have to pay an extra R30 for fries and another R30 for onion rings, which previously were served with the meal. That is a 50% increase. It leaves a bad taste in one's mouth, when management starts taking advantage of their patrons. I will think twice before coming back.

Another top place in Cape Town. It feels like there's a good restaurant every corner and the Manhattan is definitely another great option. Really great and very good value. For a change we had fish - battered fish - and it was great. The surroundings are really nice as well in Waterkant.

I come here often for a drink after yoga (strange that I've never managed to take a photo of ANY of these drinks) but yesterday we came for a tiny celebration and had the most amazing service (thank you, Kyle) and divine food. I'd recommend it to anyone even vegetarians as their veggie burger is really great as well! When you come take a moment to appreciate the effort in the deco, like the bar stools and antiques on the walls. <br/>I promise next time I'll take more pictures to show!

The Madame Zingara brand has really taken over Cape Town with it's quirky eateries, and Cafe Manhattan lives up to the food and decor expectations very well. The waiters are funky and friendly (and apparently shirtless on occasion, but we missed that unfortunately) and the outdoor seating area is a must on bright summer's day.<br/><br/>The food is divine. We had the Calamari and Feta salad which was so good. The calamari was tender and the sauce was so tasty. The Dirty Texan Burger uses their famous chilli chocolate sauce which is interesting, but could use a bit more of a wow factor (like the limited edition Belgium chocolate burger from Rocomamas, where you could really taste the chocolate quite strongly). I also didn't find it spicy at all and it needed a few more toppings. But overall it wasn't a bad burger. My boyfriend had the Chicken Burger which was really good, the jalapeños and creamy Mayo made it quite worthwhile.<br/><br/>Definitely a spot to put on your to do list when you're in Cape Town, whether it's for some tasty food or for a wild drink (grab a saddle at the bar for an awesome time :P).<br/>

Great environment. There is not a big diversity on the menu but the hamburguers were truly tasty. Good meat and fresh ingredients. Also a great place to have a drink with friends.

Madame Zingara's Cafe Manhattan FTW! <br/>For as long as I can remember, I've always loved coming here. Food is 👌🏼. Cocktails are 👍🏼. And not to mention the hottest (I meant friendliest 😝) staff around! Definitely the go-to spot for a 'Friday after work' meet up with friends. <br/><br/>Had the organic sirloin the last time I visited, with the pepper sauce. Cooked just the way I like it, and absolutely loved the onion rings on the side. Their southern fried burger is also a must-have. <br/>

I am a big fan of the burgers at Cafe Manhattan, and they're up there among my favourite burger joints in Cape Town. Their mushroom sauce is delicious and so are their sides. They have some good vegetarian options which is always great.

Shirtless waiters for the win! And the location. And the food. And the prices. It's pretty much pub food, but with a laid back cowboy feel to it. It's often referred to the Spur for grown ups which I think describes it best!

Stumbled upon this gem whilst looking for another little cafe and my oh my, regret was not on the menu! <br/><br/>I had the virgin daiquiri with one of the best lemon meringues I've tasted! Perfect texture, not too overpowering and I received a scoop of ice cream with it which was different but lovely! My partner had the caramel chocolate brownie and he loved it as well.<br/><br/>It's the kind of place you go to to hang out with a group of friends with great music and exceptional service. Such a fun, vibey place - on busy nights feels like you are out at a club! The burgers are absolutely delicious and they make awesome cocktails.Probably best to make a booking as it can get very busy, especially in summer.

Very friendly (and flamboyant) staff! The drinks were great as well and the specials sound great. However, I opted for the seafood options and that was definitely a wonderful choice! Tasted fresh and delicious!

A big shout out to Alex our server last night who magically appeared whenever one of us needed a new drink or more food. Terrific mist cooled stoop and neighbourhood views of happy people strolling by. Really appreciated the good selection of virgin cocktails while my friends appreciated the slutty mojitos and the tequila.

Enjoy the vibe this cafe restaurant has during the day and evening. While the menu may be limited, the food on the menu is delicious, perfect portion, and at affordable prices. I've been twice to the restaurant and find the service is consistent. Love the bar menu! Interesting shooters to try out.

Probably my favourite out of the Madam Zingara group and that's saying a lot because I really love Bombay Bicycle Club and Sidewalk Cafe.<br/><br/>Cafe Manhattan has a wonderful character; decorated with quirky touches like old wall clocks, vintage telephones and shelves of books. Upstairs, you can relax, drink and smoke on a balcony away from the diners but still see all the goings on.<br/><br/>The cocktails are fantastic and well priced and then there's the food. They have some of the best burgers in town and their salads are huge and full of delicious things like calamari and Danish feta. (Or you can have a salad in a wrap).<br/><br/>I had the fish tacos yesterday with all the Latina trimmings like lemon, guacamole and sour cream. It was melt in your mouth magical. <br/><br/>Service has been excellent every time I have gone, even when it's just for drinks. We had a group of 20 yesterday at lunch and the food came out without a hitch, all correct and at the same time. No easy feat. Thanks for making upmarket feel welcoming.

Came here for only a quick coffee and treat but ended up staying for hours. The service was so friendly and cheerful, it was almost weird, the Cocktails were delicious and the cakes were really yummy as well. <br/>If you go there after 3 pm you get 2 for 1 drinks. Perfect on a lazy Sunday evening

Manhattan's is a nice bistro bar in the heart of the Cape Quarter. It's a great place to meet up with friends from out of town or come for a dinner date

Such a vibey and fun place! It's in the middle of the trendy waterkant area with a Great bar and restaurant area. The restaurant has been revamped by Madame Zingara and they've done a great job. The service was very good and there were a lot of people sitting outside enjoying the view of the mountain. My family got the southern chicken (delicious), blue cheese stuffed burger (delicious), the Hawaiian (good) and the falafel (not so great). My chicken was cooked to perfection and was so flavorsome. We arrived in time for happy hour for some pretty potent marguerites.

I have only ever been to Cafe Manhattan on a Monday for their 2 for 1 burger special. It really is a great deal as the burgers are juicy and delicious and they come with chips and onion rings! I love the vibe here and the bar has some awesome saddle seats which are super fun.

Beautiful evening on a chilled Tuesday night, restaurant was humming. Great cosmopolitan vibe, sat outside and watched the world go by. I had the charred fillet with the mad pepper sauce and double fried fries. For desert the amazing pumpkin pie with ice-cream. Great service, food and company.

Always good to be back here. Friendly people, happy vibes, delicious burgers and great cocktails. Laid back atmosphere so don't expect a super fast service. Always a good place to get the party started.

Randomly chosen restaurant, and it did not disappoint! Dirty texan burger with chilli chocolate was mouthgasmic. My friend had the southern fried chicken burger which looked absolutely delicious. He enjoyed it. Shared a choc nut sundae, which was really delicious. And our waiter, Thando, was very attentive and funny and engaging. Really excellent service. I'll be back again, with more people

How to start but to say I feel like home when you enter the doors staff and managers make you feel part of their family I no for a simple cafe not to expect anything major from the food but I will be wrong home cooking meets retro Capetown makes me feel very happy and satisfied will b back

Met friends at Cafe Manhattan for dinner on a Monday evening. This coincided with their two-for-one burger special. I had the beef burger and was presented with a big, juicy, cheese burger that ticked all the right boxes along with a fresh and sumptuous Greek salad. Their house wine selection is from Spier Wines which were delicious.<br/>The only down side was that it was that the music was a little loud at times which did hamper the conversation slightly but otherwise ambience was vibrant and inviting - I especially like the saddles at the bar.

Spectacular decor, the menu is full of unique dishes that are delectable, the atmosphere is great and the service is wonderful... From the host's greeting and seating to the laughs you are guaranteed to have with your waitron! Would recommend thus establishment to anyone! Might even help them to broaden their minds a bit ;)

Perky restaurant vibe with an upbeat crowd and friendly waiters. I've had some really fun nights here and the food is generally great. Love their burgers! Although I did have a bad experience a few months ago when the patty on my burger was pretty tough and seemed overcooked. Didn't complain though...must have just been a bad night. You win some, you lose some I guess. Will be back though!

Stepping into one of their restaurants is like stepping into a museum filled with the most amazing assortment of goodies and hidden treasures, gems that make you smile and giggle and think back to your past and look forward to your future. Their focus on creating magic really does succeed, and Cafe Manhattan, one of their latest acquisitions, is certainly no different.

Went for their 2-4-1 Burger special which they have every Monday. What a great burger with delicious onion rings and chips. You can choose to either have fries or roasted vegetables and a beef or a chicken patty. They also have 2-4-1 cosmos and tequilas all day so it's the perfect combination. Lovely vibe and the staff are great. All very friendly and helpful.

The newly revamped Café Manhattan is a result of The Madam Singara chain expanding to the Waterkant. The outré spaces we have become accustomed from them have made a detour through a dude ranch. The established mostly gay crowd is now sitting on western style saddles and enough horse tack to start a mounted cavalry sitting around bar. Outside a verandah can take in the street scenes and use the outdoor space to smoke, while serious diners are seated in a large room reminiscent of a bunkhouse.<br/><br/>The diner style food is not only well portioned; it is tasty and beats many similar of its type. The fried chicken and slaw was well breaded and crispy and moist. It is deceptive as the zinc bucket in which it comes in easily fits the ½ chicken (in pieces), chips and slaw. With determination I managed to finish as I was not going to throw it away or risk the crisp be lost in a doggy bag. The range of burgers is what one could expect from an up market restaurant, the firm favourite was what I term a breakfast burger, here named a “Train wrecker”  a humongous surprisingly well flavoured combination of breakfast food in a bun. I could almost hear the arteries clog. For a bun free alternative have an American hanger with the addition hash browns and eggs.<br/><br/>The weekend we were there was no place for a mouse. Book and the next available table is yours otherwise settle down for a long cattle drive.

One of my favourite eat and drink spots in Cape Town - I return again and again at every time I'm in the mother city.<br/><br/>The eat: a selection of delicious hamburgers, and some other food that I don't know much about because the hamburgers are really good so you should have them.<br/><br/>The drink: a selection of delicious cocktails to get the party started. <br/><br/>What else? Atmosphere is laid back and friendly. Sit at the bar to meet other people. Sit at your own table and chat to your waiter. Service can be slow for this very reason... <br/><br/>Then head over to Crew for party when you're done.

A favourite place for a late Sunday afternoon snack! The burgers are great and atmosphere relaxed. Try to get a table outside and enjoy the 2 for 1 cocktail special.

Very good vibe and super nice waiters. Food is good as well. Great steaks and salads. The grilled calamari one is a favorite. I enjoy the burger as well. Reservation is a must though as it may get quite crowded. If you want a peaceful dinner, avoiding going on weekends. But if you want to have drinks, have fun and party, that's the place for you.

Always the best restaurant i have ever gone too. I was with a friend for the first time there and they welcomed me like i am a regular guest, which was good and it made me relax and felt involved like am part of the term. The waiter who was serving us was on point, he was always there when we needed him. He helped us with food menu recommendations as well beverages, mmmmmmm the food, damn it was delicious <br/><br/>Guys keep on doing the good work. Impressed beyond belief. I called in this morning to order breakfast for myself and two of my colleagues. Unfortunately I cannot remember the name of the guy that answered the phone. His telephone etiquette while taking my order is next level. Manhattan should be the benchmark. All the dishes were described to me over the phone in such detail it made me hungry all over again :) then I was asked for my contact details and asked a very unusual question "Would you like me to give you a call 5 minutes before your food is ready?" <br/><br/>It's the small this like these that make a restaurant one cut above the rest. Thanks guys for the amazing service that we receive with every visit.

With a lovely selection of American style food and amazing cocktails, I would highly recommend Cafe Manhattan for a chilled lunch or dinner. The service was outstanding; attentive and friendly waiters. And the vibe was laid back.

Our waiter was friendly and attentive. We had the squid (Delicious), Southern fried chicken (very good). This is THE place to go in Cape Town for pumpkin pie - it truly is a work of pastry art. Highly recommend to all. They also do a mean cosmo, well worth trying.

Want to go out for some drink with the girls? Then this is definitely the place to do that. The vibe is warming, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing! Especially the burgers. Really a lovely intimate little place.

Cool place, nice vibe; more for an evening out with friends, rather than a first date or romantic evening out as it can get quite loud. The buffalo wings were a hit, (it comes with chips) nice as a light meal rather than a starter if you still intend to have one of their delicious (giant) burgers served with (a mountain of) chips. Service is fast & friendly.

Fantastic service, great vibe and amazing burgers chips and onion rings :) homemade sauces are to die for! As well as a great selection of cocktails and jugs! Great prices.

Great view of the city and some mountain, awesome spot for people watching on the outside balcony, amazing burgers, full of flavour and stacked high. Best Caesar salad in the world, served with lemon wedges, rock <br/>salt and cracked black pepper, grilled calamari juicy and tender. Frozen margarita a definite winner on a hot summers day

Great falafel burger veganised it for me! Excellent service (if you don't mind a pleasantly stoned rasata waiter) and decent music although we did eat early.

Awesome decor and vibe. Food is below average. My partner had a tasteless hamburger, I had very oily fish and chips and a friend had a falaffel burger which she didn't eat! Won't be going back there to eat but will definitely go there for a drink at the awesome bar area.

Perhaps the worse of the Madam Zingara brands. Burgers are juicy but nothing amazing. Salads, especially the nectarine & macadamia nut salad, are worth the try. Friendly albeit slow service.

Such a great place, the decor is amazing! Love the leather cowboy theme (thinking that and the rainbow flags are a lovely hint as to what they do after hours) and massive MEAT neon sign! We went for the Sunday Set: all day breakfast and tunes. The Eggs Benedict of perfectly made, and just enough to make you feel like you've had a proper meal. Such a dream.

Went for the Sunday breakfast with tunes and had the most wonderful server who made the experience a laugh a minute. To eat, I had the poached eggs, they were done to perfection and well priced. Stop by if you get a chance.

My liquid lunch turned into an early supper with the TRAIN WRECKER BURGER! It was love at first bite!! From the saloon vibe of the bar and restaurant to having a "dirty Andy" shooter with the waiter. This is one of Madame Zingara's best. I absolutely love the place. So much so I booked it for the following evening for family and friends and indulged in the SIDEWALK BURGER! *drool* <br/><br/>And their cocktails - well let's just say you will want to try EVERYTHING on the cocktail menu...

My hubby and me walked around the cape quarter one evening looking for somewhere to eat and decided on Manhattan.<br/><br/>Straight away you can see it is different, the decor giving a cowboy feel. We had the chicken burger which was great! Too many great burger options, will have to go again to try other burgers. The combinations is different and delicious!

Visit this funky and friendly place for some awesome cowboy food, great wings, onion rings, chips, corn cakes, etc. nice beers too. Great prices. Friendliest staff ever. Was such a joy spending two evenings here on a visit recently.

This is the best possible location with just the coolest vibe and interior. <br/><br/>Trouble is, service just falls a mile short. Not that the staff are not friendly and helpful, it's just that they have absolutely no idea what they are doing. We placed orders with 3 different guys and when the items eventually arrived, they were not the items ordered. <br/><br/>Everyone's attitude is up beat and friendly though, so if you have sense of humour, this is a great place to visit!

This was my first visit back to Cafe Manhattan after they had a revamp and gone under new ownership. <br/><br/>Me and my boyfriend decide to take advantage of the one of the last summer days left of the season, and sit outside under the big trees. And just incase you got to hot, a fine must to cool you down. <br/><br/>The decor was as funky and outrageous as you would expected for a Zingara Restaurant. The music up beat and just the right volume. Our waiter was friendly, but with a odd sense of humor. <br/><br/>I ordered the Chocolate brownie Shake. It came in a cocktail glass, topped with a wafer and chocolate brownie bits. As you start drinking you discover the chucks of chocolate brownie that probably makes up almost half of the shake. Yummy!!<br/><br/>I must visit to everyone who what's a break for the norm!
