Great food, especially the tasting menu. We had with wine pairing. Although the food was delicious, especially the fish dishes, it was perhaps a tad too expensive for what was on offer (compared to other similar restaurants in Cape Town). Also check the price per glass of you're ordering one of the wines paired with the plates -- can be a whopper. Nice vibe and good service. Best to go at night.

The restaurant is beautifully decorated inside with great vibe and ambience. The service is execeptional. To have an overall feeling of what the restaurant has to offer, I orderes the tasting menu with 5 courses. The flavours were not that explosion I expected, but well balanced dishes. My favourite was the seared tuna, which was served on a cold plate that kept the texture of the fish a prime. The desert was a sweet taco with popping sugar (I was supper expecting for that), but ... they forgot the popping sugar "/

This is really an amazing place - we tried the Muchos Gustos menu and it was the best decision ever. The chef was also extremely accommodating because of my allergies to seafood and changed the menu to suit me! We had the best time, the food was fast and fresh, the service was amazing and friendly. I cannot recommend it enough.

Service was slow but the food was delicious. No complaints about portion sizes but just remember mains come without real sides. Those must be ordered separately. The pork belly was tender but I would have preferred the top to be crackling.

The most amazing steak I've ever had! Even though they were busy and seemed short on staff the manager looked after us and was doing his absolute best for each table. I would love a bigger portion but that's just because I'm a greedy piggy!

Excellent place. Great vibe, very good decor, excellent tapas, very creative generally, but yes, it is pricey, and somewhat noisy, which I see as an advantage because it gives the place vibe. I have been here 3 times already and would go another 10. Highly recommended. And yes, the Pisco Sour's are excellent!

Enjoy the unique food menu although it is quite limited - they have recently added to their menu which helps. Always have a good meal! Great for dinner with friends but can be on the pricey side but love the decor and chilled vibe.

The oysters are good, the service is good although a little slow because of how full it was on the day I was there, but the fullness didn't detract from the service levels of all staff on duty. The cocktails are nice and there is a great vibe. Worth a visit.

Charango was one of our favourite dining experiences and meals in Cape Town. The open air restaurant has an effortlessly cool vibe and our server Virginia was spectacular. We ate slow and enjoyed our meal over 3 hours. Then there was the food. It was done simply, with amazing ingredients, and was over the top delicious. We started with the tuna tacos which were a perfect concoction, we also ordered the tuna tataki which was epic. For our main we split the fillet in the chimichuri rub and oh my goodness, one of the best steaks I have ever had. Definitely order their beef, it is cooked incredibly and so memorable. We also ordered the tomato salad and charred corn which accompanied the beef perfectly. Well done Charango, your food, service and vibes will not be forgotten!

Best steak I had in a three week trip to SA. Recommend the fillet with truffle butter on the side. The taco was also pretty good. Cocktails were okay based on my limited sampling of one.

Charango is a great spot to have an amazing food experience in Cape Town. We came wanting to taste loads of different things and every plate was great. The mains paired with a side will be more than enough for someone, but went tapa style and tried a bunch of things.
Each plate has a distinct and memorable flavor, the food was prepared beautifully and presented so well. Every dish was enjoyable.
The vibe is great, tonight there is a Wednesday and there is a live band playing. And every seat is taken so you will definitely need to book a head of time. Do yourself a favor and give Charango a try next time you are this side of the world.
