I loved this place! Fantastic fun cocktails and amazing waiter. We didn’t eat here so I cannot comment on the food. The cocktails are expensive but worth the experience.
Most authentic and delicious range of cocktails with a map to guide you every step of the drunken way to the next. Drinkatarium will kick you off in the right direction. 5 shining stars. A cocktail for every personality.

Didn't expect the food to be as great as it was! The Snack platter for two was yummy for days and the burger sliders were crooked f perfection and quite filling.

out of this world SENSORY experience featuring the most, crazy, genius cocktails! It has an amazing vibe to it, especially on a Friday Night after the cocktails have gotten to your head if you know what I mean ;)
They even have an alcohol-free menu for those designated drivers.
I would highly recommend this to everyone and every one! And I would definitely recommend letting the waitress help you order a cocktail that will suit your specific taste preferences. It is absolutely magical!
After a friend’s raving on the amazing cocktails from this bar, I have finally made myself to this bar. Our waitering staff is super friendly and funny, I should have invite her to come and sit down with us. I have the Nelly the Elephant, a cute and fun drink. My friend had the Daisy which is something we did not expect as a cocktail...but overall their cocktail is experimental and super fun. We had the snack attack platter to share and the chicken strips are amazing!!! Probably one of the best I had. Will definitely come back for more fun cocktails!

Wow - what an unbelievably unique SENSORY experience with their EXPERENTIAL cocktails!
They really do tickle and play with every sense from smell to taste! I loved the explanation of their concept, the itnercation, quizzing them on where they get their raw/natural ingredients and the whole vibe! We had LIVE entertainment watching the mixologists create drinks such as The Daisy (a tribal looking margerita) and something I cant pronounce (insert a fancy name for a G&T) which we enjoyed thoroughly!
The former came on a wooden board, in a bowl, with shrub on fire next to it, the look and smell was very UNIQUE and INTERESTING, it had all heads turning while we dipped our sugar sheets into granules of salt and into the pot of alcohol in front of us, the latter came with dry ice in a flask, a dropper and a mixture in a glass - I was able to play with all different flavours from lavender to "ocean" to "fynbos" flavour, to give my drink that extra kick - tantalize those taste buds!This place gives new meaning to "playing with your food" (although not food, the menu is set out so that you have a starter, main and dessert in the form of liquid)... if you do happen to crave solids go for the SNACK ATTACK PLATTER, IT was enough to feed the 4 of us (HUGE), deep fried pickles, chicken, fries, meat balls, dips and haloumi! 5/5 JUST LOVE FRESH CONCEPTS - IT'S WORTH THE EXTRA BUCK OR TWO! #LOCALISLEKKER #SUPPORTLOCAL
So we did what any normal people craving a cocktail after a movie would do, drove from Tygervalley to the CBD at 11pm. Our intention was Gin Dock, but then I told wife let's give Cause Effect a try.
Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed. We couldn't decide which cocktails we wanted but the bar tenders were extremely helpful. Basically they can make u anything that suits your taste buds .
If you enjoy cocktails, this is an experience. I will definitely be returning and trying some food as well.

This is no average bar, nor is it merely a cocktail lounge, it’s a sensory experience that blows you away!
The staff behind the bar are so well educated and passionate on what they are doing, you could literally chat for hours. We tried 4 incredible options on the menu, which blew us away; not only on presentation but taste as well. (I also squizzed the food menu, looks very tasty and I’d definitely be back to try it)
They not the cheapest option in town for a cocktail but so worth the amazement and taste that you get when you have that first sip. I’d highly recommend this was something new and different.
WOW! What an amazing experience! All the way from the very creative cocktails to the beautifully presented food.
Very kid friendly as well they made an amazing effort to entertain my little one with extra cotton candy that was provided as well as a show of dry-ice play on the table, which had us in awe.
If ever in the area, I would 100% recommend that you pop in and enjoy one of their wide varieties of cocktails with friends.

Great spot. Proper South African recipes using fynbos and local spirits. Very entertaining with extra special efforts made to make cocktails. Great presentation. Reasonable prices.
It an awesome place, with amazing atmosphere and service. They can customize drinks according to your taste, bills are paid according to the shots used in mixing the drinks, would say it's definitely worth the experience.
Great selection of cocktails, and also very creative! Staff are friendly and super helpful if you are unsure on what drink to try. Very close to the V&A waterfront so perfect as a drink spot once you've finished exploring!

What a fantastic place to have cocktails! Not sure why it isn’t rated higher? Service was great. The recommendations on cocktails were spot on, and I think the music was great! I’d go back and recommend.
Food was amazing. My favorite was the Ferrari mussels, smoked salmon tacos. And the table mountain cocktail.
Went there for a light snack and drinks on 29 April 2023 just after 4pm. They were packed and only had seats available at the bar. It was a pretty good view. We ordered the Larry No-drama llama (it's the one with the cotton candy), koala bear (looks plain but very potent), the blue drink with the dried ice (it has no name but it is sourish) and the Rum Misfit something (with the canon - I really liked the taste). To snack, we had the pork belly bao bun. After 5pm they got a bit quiet. During our stay there were these annoying Scottish pipe players outside. Cool vibes with lots of seating and friendly staff. Best to reserve a table as they do fill up quickly.

Cause Effect is well-known for their interesting cocktails so I was very excited to visit them. The restaurant isn't very large making it a bit more intimate, and although they have a very small outside seating area, they also have an indoor seating area which is beautifully decorated. After going through their very extensive cocktail menu, the waiter offered to make recommendations based on our preferences. I asked him to recommend some cocktails to me and out of the 3 he recommended I'd already had 2 of them in mind, which showed that they really know their drinks. By far they are most renowned for the creative look of many of their cocktails (mine was more flavour based than visually exciting) so I recommend you mention to the waiter if you want one of those options. They aren't just a cocktail bar, but a restaurant as well, and although I haven't eaten there yet I have heard very good things of the food. Cause Effect is very popular, and we were lucky that a table was open, but next time I will definitely make a reservation.
