Review Yours Truly - Cape Town Central

Martha-Theresa Borst
A cool spot! We dropped in for a drink and caught the upstairs vibe with people dancing and having a blast. It's a hip place, perfect for a younger crowd. The energy and atmosphere make it a must-visit for those seeking a lively experience.

The pizzas were very tasty. The bottom is nice and thin and the ingredients are fresh. There is the possibility to put together your own pizza. The pizzas are served without cutlery but are pre-cut so I only messed up once. It has a hip vibe with music and it's well decorated inside. The staff is very nice. Too bad they don't have desserts but that's the only comment.
Keke Lekalakala
Had their pizza, which was very delicious but small in size. Upstairs there's a nice frozen cocktail, which looks like a slushie and fast on getting one drunk 🥴

Perfect spot for a nice lunch or a chill evening. The food is really affordable and tasty. The atmosphere cuts you out of the city, this allow you to feel free for a nice moment surrounded by plants and wooden decorations. Be ready to wait a little if you order a salade because everything is fresh made and they care about the details. Overall a great place to hang or grab a bite.

Yours Truly on Kloof Street, is always a gem to visit. Whether you're popping in for the best Hot Chocolate in Capetown, or brunching out with their own delicious Rosè and a Mr Popular. You're in for a treat! Year after year, this proves to be on of the best solo, date or friend spot, to meet up at. The staff are always brilliant, the plant life is what makes the space, and the menu options are delectable 🌼😊😋 It's always a win to visit my favorite spot in kloof street. Thanks for being amazing, Team! 🥑🥐🌰☕🍕🥬🍓

Always a vibe. Great atmosphere, good music, can boogie upstairs, very central and convenient. Definitely worth a visit when enjoying a night out on the town.
Rabea Kämper
Stopped for a quick bite and enjoyed the sandwiches and hot drinks. Everything was delicious and good. Can imagine that this place is also great for some drink at night.

Yours Truly is one of my favourite spots on Kloof Street - Nice location, cool furniture and a lot of plants result in a cool garden flair. The restaurant is self service (except the pizza, they are brought to your table). They offer a selection of house brand wines, the rose is a recommendation, light and easy. Service staff is cool, prices are fair, pizza is tasty. The upper floor is also a great place for having a cocktail or two and offers a lot of space - suitable for groups as well.

If you're looking for a chilled evening, turned good night out, Yours Truly is the place. The place is vibey. Food & service is good

This is my ultimate favourite spot EVER. Aesthetic is stunning!. Such a laid back vibe. This is definitely a summer spot. Can get quite windy and chilly. Love this spot to meet up with friends. Have a bottle of wine and pizza.

Lovely place, just the waiter didn't seem like he liked being there ,his interaction was codfish and unbothered.Otherwise a charming place to have a drink or two.
Gerhard Stewart
They have friendly staff and could serve us during load-shedding. I really enjoy the plants in the environment.
kayla zeeman
One of the reasons to stop by, definitely their scrumptious, thin-based pizzas. Also, Yours Truly has friendly, welcoming staff. The atmosphere is very relaxing and perfect for unwinding.

Yours truly is an amazing bar and a must visit in Cape Town. With multiple locations yours truly offers a place where friends can get together to share a bottle of wine or grab a light meal. I created some of my best memories here meeting new people. It does get crowded very quickly so if you want a spot get there early! The upstairs bar also closes early.
Gilbert Carstens
Awesome vibe, really cool staff, always friendly and helpful. Just need to maybe have more non alcoholic options like savanah lemon, and hunters non alcoholic.. Otherwise even the people who hangout there are very very friendly, you can share seating and tables, just ask the patrons they will share. Its awesome.. Its still the same.. Lovely.
Louise Hendricks
A Truly beautiful gem in Kloof Street Cape Town. Lovely beverages and delicious pizza, pastry and breads☺️ great vibe and music, whilst sitting under and amidst a forest of green😉 go and see what I mean, because you have to see it to believe and experience it✨
Busisiwe Ndlovu
The vibe was amazing very nice and relaxed atmosphere. The pizza was delicious and I had the luxury to add my own ingredients. I was lucky because there was a Vans promotion and the DJ was playing music from all around the world.
Bongani M
Chilled restaurant during the day and a pumped up vibe in the evenings. Great aesthetic and a vibrant spot.
Bryan Vally
This is somewhere I am a little old for - but a cool place to visit on the Rocking The Daisies weekend, which thinned the regular herd substantially. Drinks and Food are reasonable, but the waiting time for our pizza was inexplicably half an hour longer than the rest of our table. The self-service vibe then got frustrating, it works when all runs smoothly but not otherwise. Still, they’re an institution so a good choice if you’re on the younger side and looking for a bustling hangout to have some drinks and a decent pizza.
Cynthia
I like the vibe of this place, quiet a young hipster clientele. The staff are friendly and their pizza's are a must try. However their drinks menu is quiet limited, with that being said great night out.
Farzana Dalvie
I love the hipster feel of this spot, this is my kinda vibe and the cappuccino I had was great and so was the service..I would recommend this spot for a quick coffee catch up with friends.

Finally came to Yours Truly and I was not disappointed.

I came here mostly for the vibe and chill, than I did for food. Also, the plants were a big part of the decision.

Anyway a few drinks later, we felt a bit peckish and ordered some pizza which was heerlik!

I will definitely be back in summer. This could easily be one of my new Cape Town favourites.
Emily Boolsen
Mixed feelings about this place 👍
If you’re on the hunt for hipsters this is the place to be- although I usually find the crowd quite specific and pretentious.
The food is pretty good but a bit too pricey.
The music played upstairs is really awkward to dance to.
But the location is prime and the wine isn’t too expensive 🥂
Riaz Orrie
Yours Truly had a very nice and chilled ambience which allowed us to sit and just enjoy the vibe of town. The service was really good and the staff were friendly.
Kaitlyn Williams
Absolutely enjoy the vibe of this restaurant. always upbeat and cozy. My friend and I shared their smoked chicken with sweet chilli cream cheese pizza, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Great for a coffee meeting or an evening chill with friends.
The people and staff are always friendly and joyous. I also really like the fact that you pay before you eat therefore when you're done you can just get up and go, saves so much time!
Tsepang & Thapelo
Yours Truly is like the Club culture kid of Cape Town's food scene; it's an outlier in that it doesn't necessarily see itself as a food place, though it sells some of the most incredible pizza and (pizza) salads in town! 🍕🍕🍕🥒🧀🍅🍃

Our love affair began 7 years ago when they only had their long street store (which still exists and sold the most incredible red velvet cupcakes and coffee ☕️🍰) but since then there have been two more additions; 📍Loop street, and 📍Kloof Street...

It's a young crowd that generally goes there, hipsters and street style impresarios🚦, stylists, photographers📸, models, film 🎥and art industry experts🎨🎭... and it's all because of the vibe, great array of alcohol on offer🍻🍹🍷

We love their salads, and of course... their claim to fame their thin-base pizza 🤤🍕

TIP: (1) the bigger your crew the better and (2) Great in the afternoon and evenings, if you arrive after 4pm, head upstairs to the rooftop and enjoy sunsets over lion's Head 🌄

Festive season vibes! This place was awesome, went with a big group of friends in December , it was paaaaacked! Grabbed a gin and tonic and a small opportunity for a table as another group was leaving. It reminds me of a slightly bigger Living Room in Joburg. I was really hungry on this particular evening but sadly the food option is very limited , I’m not a pizza kinda gal. But pizza it was and it did the job but what actually made my night was the happiness feels of this place, the music was kif and I was in great company.
Julian Coetzee
Undoubtedly the beat Pizza in Cape Town, you can take any Pizza and won’t regret it. The vibe is young and vibrant with a deep house backtrack. There are no waiters which means everything you do, you do by yourself, nevertheless fantastic
Jessica Zef
Came here at night for dinner. Place was packed with no open tables and no one to assist. Had to ask someone if we could share their table. There is no service and no one and no sign to tell you no service. You have to order food and drinks at bar and they bring the food to you. The pizza was on the cold side and it was nothing special - not worth its price. No one came to take away the board once we had done eating. Won't be back here again.
Rebecca Rawcliffe
Best Coffee ever.

Awesome staff as well.. just an entire lovely vibe.a

Haven't tried the food yet.. but it looks yummy.. whenever I'm feeling a bit gloomy I just pop around here and get a latte, which kick starts my day. Oh and one of the guys usually puts a heart in my coffee ❤ which makes me feel special. Haha
Elle Mbadaliga
This is a nice place for drinks and catch up. It's very casual. You Order at the bar and the Service is quick. The pizzas have very thin bases, which is a plus for me.
Tupac Shakur
I'm not very into "high profile" places yet this place is amazing! The Biltong Salad was exactly what I needed, great music and lovely fresh atmosphere. One of the coolest places to hangout in Cape Town (day or night)
Sara Lohmaier
This is definitely a must go for all Cape Town Hipsters!

It is very loud and busy. Very very busy. It took us a while to find a table, and standing in a queue for the bar only to be told it was cash only(not sure why) was less than ideal.

We ordered Pizzas, which understandably took quite a while to arrive. When they did, they were cold. Like the cheese is already setting cold. At this stage sending them back and waiting another hour was simply not an option. They were however very tasty, great base and fresh toppings.

I must admit, this is place is not really my vibe, maybe I'm not cool enough to understand the allure of such a trendy place, but i just found it too busy. I did however enjoy the people watching. So many strange and wonderfuls.

I probably won't be back, but if you like pizzas and gin- go for it!
Thembakazi Sonwabe
I've heard a lot about how this is the spot for cool kids and I wasn't sure what to expect.

The Kloof branch is more of a bar rather than a restaurant. You order your own drinks and pay for them. If you're sitting upstairs and you want food, you have to go downstairs and pay for it. They then give you a number and a waiter will bring up the food to your table.

The pizzas are not filling and had to order two for my friend and myself. I've honestly had better gourmet pizza.

We were sitting by the DJ and the music was okay, I think he was playing electro.

All in all this is a good spot for drinks and to watch the sunset.

Wouldn't visit again though.
Chad Marks
Truly one of the most beautiful venues I have enjoyed in Cape Town. Slightly disappointed with the portion sizes of the food, though this doesn't take away from the fact that it IS delicious.
And again, its just simple, no pretenses and a genuinely gorgeous spot in the hip Kloof Street strip.

All things considered, I would still go back again soon
Sarah Mcghie
If you want to be at the 'it' spot for evening drinks then this is it! They have a downstairs and upstairs area and they are always full! I often come here because the vibe is amazing and I love the outdoor/plant/lights vibe! The drinks are well priced and their food is good! I've had their make your own sandwich during the day, which is tasty and have eaten their salads and pizzas for dinner which are really out of this world considering their price, and food not being their main focus!
Cameron Moran
Great little place. After travelling around Southern Africa for 5 weeks we came across this place on our first morning in Cape Town and the coffee and chai latte were amazing!!! Highly recommend!!

Food

Is alright
Wines list is to be reviewed
The red Merlot was not stable.

Ambiance

is cool and young

Price

Is alright compared to the whole street

Services need to be cleaner
This afternoons lunch is courtesy of Yours Truly. This is a new spot for me walking past you immediately pick up on all the greenery - it's like a industrial chic mini warehouse in a forest *complete with the token white subway tile that has plagued all the cafes in Cape Town recently. I loved the proteas scattered all around the place and the warmth the wood textures provides. You order at the counter so I guess the service is as quick as you can get to the front and pick something. Staff are friendly and efficient.

Today I sampled the smoked chicken wrap and BLAT ciabatta roll. Drinks, a hot chocolate and flat white. Both meals were beautifully presented on big wooden board and the brown paper adds to the whole character of the restaurant. My flat white was very strong for me and needed more sugar than I usually would put in a coffee but the hot chocolate I tasted was splendid. My wrap was filling and packed full - being slightly toasted gave a nice texture to the wrap itself. No meal would be complete in Cape Town without some making an appearance on the plate and today was no exception. The ciabatta roll was lovely and crisp but I found it too floury - don't make direct eye contact with other customers when eating this roll people will question all the white powder on your face. Jokes aside the roll was tasty.

Overall an awesome spot on Kloof street - well worth a visit.

The vibe at Yours Truly is really great on a Sunday evening. They have a DJ upstairs. It's outdoors and the lights create a warm atmosphere. Take a jacket. Getting a table can be tricky. The food service is good. I have only ever had the pizza and it's not bad. Mostly I'd recommend Yours Truly for drinks with friends.

Love this place for a Saturday night out- drink prices are reasonable depending on what you like to drink, if you are like me and love drinking your whiskeys on a student budget then this isn't the place to go but! When ordering ciders and coolers the price is definitely, infinitely better. The space is a bit small especially on a busy weekend evening into night so you'll definitely end up standing around with your drinks. Great music though- the crowd of hipsters (if you're not too partial towards hipsters then steer clear of this place) are cool and friendly, well when they feel like it but other than that it's a good place to go out if one is looking for a place to go out to.
Phila Goduka
Great food, awesome vibe! The one downside is that it regularly gets packed - probably because its such a great place. Its a nice place to have sundowners after a long day and unwind with some mates.
Brad Taylor
Young, Vibey, with Good Food

Yours Truly in Kloof Street was a great experience. It was buzzing, filled with a very young crowd. And with Lively music it created an awesome ambiance.

The food was decent. Brought up to you on wooden platters after you order and pay downstairs. The service was slightly slow but it was busy.

The bar staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall a really great place that I will visit again! Only downside is no bookings.
Mandisa Nduli
Situated on Kloof, Yours Truly is the perfect chill spot. With a great food menu, YT is recommendable for anyone looking to get out of the house for some air or meet up with some friends. The YT crowd is young and trendy-- not so much a family place.

Divided into two floors, the rooftop feels like you're in a different city. It's perfect for a hangout with friends over a few drinks and some pizza.
HospitalityHedonist.co.za
Popped into yours truly whilst exploring kloof. The Venu is packed with reason, location is great the staff friendly and some beautiful people to meet over pizza and beer if your a solo traveller. We didn't eat but thin based pizzas looked great
Megz Mackintosh
Loved the vibe & artsy ambience of this cafe! The food was ordered at the counter & then delivered to your table. It was an enjoyable sandwich but the avo was a bit too brown for my liking. Great coffee!
Chillies Chef Cephas
My addiction with their coffee led me to this space. Welcoming staff 😜. The atmosphere was cool. The double espresso my favorite . was excellent. Fresh sandwich made whilst you are waiting.
Pia
Been here for a salad and a Sandwich. They were both fantastic! You can create your own sandwiches or take one of them plenty from the menues.
They were yummy, had a Wonderful filling and the vibe there was great as well
Marcus Christiansen
Thumbs up for this place. Super cool vibe all day long due to the mix of young local and internationals who hang out here.

They also make pretty rad pizzas and serve a variety of good craft beers.

Yours truly is a vibe for any night.
Mosa Mashati
This is my favourite place on kloof!
The vibe , the food , the drinks and the music . Prices of their house wines aren't heavy on the pocket and they taste decent.
Ive had about three different types of their pizza and they all taste really good, if you're a fan of good thin base traditional naepolitan pizza, YT pizza is for you.
Theresa Scott
Really disappointing! Went through to order a Hit & Run, a wrap and an Ice Coffee...ended up waiting for 35 minutes! When I followed up with my waiter, I saw him sneak behind the counter and only then take the sandwiches to the kitchen. Absolutely ridiculous that he never even apologised. Really upset because the Iced Coffees are amazing at your place, but your stale breads and slow service really sour the deal.
Scarlett
The hippest location in town! Confused of where to go with friends for some drinks and some Tapas? Yours truly Kloof street is the place to be. An airy and magical feel at night and a relaxing place for the day. A place that is always filled with people from all over the world and all over Cape Town! Share a table and a bottle of wine underneath the trees or on the terrace upstairs dominating Kloof street. Quick and friendly service as well as medium portioned food.

Been there about 100 times and never get bored. If it's not your still, it doesn't matter because you'll fit right in.
Curious Foodie
Definitely a good place to go meet new people. Its always buzzing and full even late at night. The music they play is also very nice and it gets you in a jovial mood. Tried out their pizza and it was quite nice, slightly above average. The waiters were all very friendly. Its a good chill spot in a nice central location
Leonardo Sforza
The only place that was open until late on New Years Eve. Awesome staff that are super helpful and friendly. Their food has been said to be quite good. (Have not tried) however their beverages are reasonably priced and also has some great coffee. Nice little place up in Gardens. Most Definitely a place to try in town
Tabassum Smiley Aleem
I felt like the place was super crowded and that the food was pretty average. We opted to just have drinks. The vibe is great with everyone sitting together upstairs.
Sanelisiwe Sani Sibanyoni
Yours truly is so amazing! My Sundays are spent at yours truly, upstairs where I can watch sun set sipping on the paradox box Sauvignon blanc. Fave spot on Kloof!✨
Richard Bower
The pizza was delicious. However my ultimate attraction to Yours Truly is the awesome vibe! Set alongside a hostel, there is always a crowd there. I really love chilling upstairs as there are often some hip hop tracks playing. After 9 the crowd moves to the main area downstairs where the party goes in until 11.

I will defs be back for a couple cold ones soon.
Chiquita Lai Göhse
The chillest spot to meet up with friends anytime of the day, anytime of the week. Sandwiches taste great. House white wine is 👌🏼 it's definately a trendy young spot filled with artists, skaters, surfers and people who want and have a good vibe.
Pia Harris
Possibly Cape Town's most popular hangout for hipsters, students, free-lancers and trustafarians. Really chilled vibe, extremely relaxed service (don't expect anything to happen quickly) Simple, delicious food; mainly sandwiches and pizzas. Its affordable, vibey and always a good time. The rooftop bar opens from 4PM til about 9PM and is a brilliant summer sundowner spot.
Danieljake
Can't even count the number of times I've been here. One of the best places for sundowners or any casual get-together. Drafts are well priced and the iced coffee is great. Never a bad time at YT
Theodora Lee
This place is hopping with gap year-ers and gives you a chance to sit back and relax in the city with a wood fired pizza and coffee or a reasonably priced tall glass of wine. Whenever I go, I'm reminded how trendy my city is. They also have a rooftop bar just above that you have to visit!
Sharese Hunt
The thing that pulls people to Yours Truly is the relaxed but friendly vibe. Fronting the backpackers "Once" this place is buzzing with a good mix of foreigners and locals.

Plants decorating this place for a garden feel with picnic-style benches that is open for all to share. It is a great spot for locals to meet people from all over the world and also giving travellers the opportunity to mingle with the locals.

From the menu you can find a good selection of coffees, craft beers and wine. On the food side they have fresh pastries, pizzas and gourmet sandwiches. Variety of rolls and breads vary in size and texture with different cuts of meat, top-quality cheeses and fresh ingredients to choose from. All served on lovely wooden boards, the sandwiches are simple and nothing too over the top. Coffee was really good.

It is partly self-service where you have to queue, pay and place your order at the till and then return to your bench to wait for your order.

It is this trendy, friendly and open nature that drives the success of this place that Capetonians love best.
Mignon Kriel
During the day it's an above-average cafe with amazing pizza and sandwiches then around sunset, music starts playing and people start rolling in. Coolest vibe for a younger crowd with a wide selection of beer and wines for a drink after a long day or a drink before a night out!
Glen Hunt
Dropped in here looking for a bit of brekky in Gardens and found Yours Truly open and wanted to give them a bit of a try. I must of been missing the memo that says they do breakfast. It's a shop that does coffee and pastries. Ordered a couple of cinos and a couple of salami and cheese sangas. Coffee was good, not burnt or Ricoffy (bleh!). Sangas were decent but really didn't cut my lunch.

Service is pretty friendly and chilled relaxed vibe here. I'd come back with a couple of mates, down a few froffies and a grab a pizza.

For those who need a translation please comment. He he he.
Jessica Stromin
Great place for drinks and a night out, or upstairs for day drinking during summer! 💃🏻 🍹 I had a pizza and a glass of wine - value for money (R35 for a margerita!) and just what I felt like! the salads and sarmies sound good too! It's pretty much self-service which works well as long as...
Anja Immelman
It's okay, I guess. We went here since my friend's budget seemed a bit tight and he wanted to opt for the cheaper option. The food was fine. I just think there are better options around. I'm not really into the whole backpackers vibe. And it's way too cramped for the available space.
Sophia Clark
Lovely location right off Kloof Street but well decorated so you feel as if you are in an "urban garden." Service was quick, and although they accidentally added two drinks to my order they realised the mistake (which I had not) and ratified it. Really loved the salami, brie and avo sandwich and the bread was so good I wished they sold it by the loaf!
Zanenkululeko Belot
Clever concept, great atmosphere, really great music. I really enjoyed this place's vibe, its an excellent place to grab drinks.

The place is a little cramped, but the decor is cute and cosy and the drinks are reasonably priced. Do check out the roof top bar (Up Yours)
Tiyaarah Cloete
Yours truly in kloof is the better one. There's a vibe the coffee is good and I enjoyed their pizza and salads. It's really pretty outside where there's loads of seating
Ulisha Moodley
Had lunch at Yours Truly today, we were lucky to have good weather as that definitely impacts the experience of the outside area.
To drink I had a mocha choc which was great at first but a few sips into it wasn't that great as it had a milky aftertaste - which was probably caused by the milk being over boiled. Sashen however loved his americano. To eat we had "The Don and the "Delicious Monster". Both were good, but nothing to write home about - I mean for the price at R50 for the Don and R60 for the delicious monster you expect a little more... Especially when it's called "gourmet sandwiches".
Nicol Miller
The coolest hang out spot in Cape Town. You can grab the yummiest salad ( I recommend the Jan van Riebeek) or the tastiest pizza ( Mr Popular), sip on the best hot chocolate( made with Honest Chocolate) and listen to the best hiphop beats. And it's situated in a bustling prime location. Nothing better 👌
Grinding Gears
Loved it! Great concept! Great setting - especially the upstairs bar. I had two pizzas. The one with jalapeños was great! And spicy (can't remember the name now unfortunately). But great for going for drinks and a few bites.
Chiara Esposito
Yours Truly offers a wonderful vibe. Sitting under their trees and fairy lights with a glass of wine and a few mates is very pleasant. But saying their service is terrible would be an understatement. I understand that they are a self-service spot. You got to the till, order, pay, and then their waitrons bring you your order. It's all very chilled, which I like, but every experience I've had there has left me feeling irritated.

Firstly, every time I've gone to the till to place my order, I have had to wait for the cashier who lacks focus for an unfair amount of time instead of he/she waiting for me. I am an experienced cashier and one of the first things you learn is to put the customer first. Their shift from the day menu to the night menu is greatly flawed. Firstly, there's a half hour period between 3:30-4pm that you cannot order food and more likely than not there are no more ready made sandwiches left. Secondly, if your night menu, including the main option of a pizza, starts at 4, you are prepped and ready to make the food at 4. This includes your oven being hot and ready for the first pizza to be baked i.e. You put your oven on at 3:40, while you're waiting around for about half an hour for your night menu to take over. Basically, I ended up waiting 50 minutes for a pizza by which point I was starving as I intended to come for lunch which ended up being early dinner.

Whether you are self-service or not, you have a responsibility to ensure your customers are happy and I for one was not on many occasions. I will not be back there in a hurry. Unfortunately, Yours Truly has become "the go-to place" for students and my fellow friends, so I sometimes find myself hesitantly on my way there. Unless I hear of some massive improvement or my friends are willing to endure the pain of ordering me a glass of wine and possibly some food, I'll be much happier staying in at home as opposed to going there.
Princess Petra
I can't help but stop in here every time I am down in Cape Town, it is one of my absolute favourites! The decor and vibe are super trendy and inviting. The service I had was always good and the staff are super friendly! Whether I'm popping in for a cup of something warm or bite to eat this place doesn't disappoint. It has a sort of community feel to it and looks like on of the trendiest places in Cape Town.
Hang T
Love the vibe of this place. Although the patio is right next to the busy street, they managed to section it with foliage to give customers the feeling of being in a garden. The décor makes it very enjoyable and of course, the subs are amazing!
Iman Bawa
It's the first time I've been at Yours Truly, I've been meaning to go for a while and finally got the chance. The vibe is so relaxed and inviting and the food is a perfect accompaniment. Service was prompt and friendly and the food was tasty. It's a good hide out in a busy city
Candice Martins
Stopped to get something to drink with a colleague of mine. I originally ordered an orange juice, which was great. Then ended up staying for a coffee too. I love the vibe of the restaurant, very Cape Town and very hipster.
Caro Van Aardt
I've been here a million times now, and I'm never disappointed. The vibe is great if the weather is good. Perfect for summer nights where you can sit outside until late, enjoying the humdrum of Kloof street. The pizzas are delicious, with fresh toppings and an excellent thin base. Go with lots of friends for a great night out on the town. It gets really busy though, so don't expect to get a big open table just waiting for you.
Ashna Dayal
Yours Truly has a wonderful atmosphere. It was relaxing and I enjoyed a glass of chilled wine. I was a bit disappointed with the menu. There was not many vegetarian options. I decided to make my own sandwich with basil, rocket, feta and avocado. The service is quick and all the ingredients were fresh and crisp!
Michael
If you cannot order anything for 20 min due to a shift change. Not even a beer. Please. Get your act together.
Andreas Botha
Drive from Gordons Bay every morning. Thought we would try something new. Decided on Yours Truly as their website says 6am....They don't open at 6. Made us wait till 6:40...
Went to Arnolds. .
Zandi Mgutshini
Friendly staff and a really nice setting. It can be a bit busy but it's understandable because the place is lovely. My favourite place in Cape Town.
Charné
I give this place 3,5 for decor and vibe. The place was completely packed with people who all seemed to be having a great time. I did find the food and service a let down though. Our pizza was pretty average and the ingredients were pretty sparse. The waiter was borderline rude the entire time (even when it wasn't busy) and I think the ordering at the counter system seemed to confuse him more than help him. I will definitely be back for the bar (which is also great) but not for the food
Tafel Vir Twee
Meh. Average at best. Heard alot about this place and my friends absolutely love it. For me it is very overrated. Service is nice, decor is cosy and food looks great but I just don't see what the fuss is about. Vibe isn't anything special and the manager if that is what he was (he looked 12) kept talking loudly on his phone about banging some hottie on a table, I wish you luck for the future you fine Gentlemen you. Will probably go again but won't make a day out of it.
Kent Blake Henderson
Such amazing coffee, but the systems are lacking...

When arriving, you know it fits the morning coffee hipster spot that fits every stereotype...

With an "at the counter pay before you receive" approach, Yours Truly have made a simple pay and wait technique when going for that morning coffee... However, the simplicity of the system becomes flawed when the waiter's struggle to find the tables of the orders that were placed, having almost received 3 different tables orders and watching every table follow the same fate.

It's hard to enjoy yourself when there is a clear miscommunication between staff and orders become displaced.

The food was good but portions weren't filling me up (I am a big guy, so this can be debated).

But most importantly, the coffee, which I enjoyed so much that I ordered more, not for the need of caffeine but just for the taste! It was brilliant!

I wish I could score the café higher based on their awesome coffee, but the systems in play need to be refined or table orders need to be sorted behind the counter before customers walk away...

In conclusion, if you want coffee, it's the place to go, it's worth the frustration, both which are guaranteed...

Great atmosphere. Dog friendly which is stunning! The music is lovely for the early morning, creates a great ambiance.

Our drinks took a while to arrive and tables that sat down after us got their drinks before us.
Their ordering system is very confused. Waiters kept bringing us other people's orders.

The cappuccinos were very good, however we ordered The Don & were not informed that the restaurant was out of rocket, which was an ingredient of the meal, that was disappointing. The rest of the meal was satisfying & enjoyable.

Went there on a Monday evening not expecting anything. But OMG the food was fantastic! I shared the Mr Popular pizza and Honest salad with a friend. The food was made with good quality, fresh ingredients. Definitely will be back soon! Loved it! The vibe was great 👍🏻🎉

This is one of my favourite spots in the city! The pizza is great, the vibe is great and the drinks are well priced! I hit up the roof top bar recently, aptly named Up Yours and it did not disappoint. The only downside was the service was a bit slow at the bar, but you would expect that at most places on a Saturday night, but the slightly grumpy waiters were not enough to put me off a stellar evening!
You really feel the summer vibe when you can have a cold glass of wine, great pizza and jams on a rooftop!

Popped in here while walking down Kloof street! Really busy place with a good vibe. Take note you order at the counter which isn't too obvious! The food is reasonably priced and the biltong salad was huge! They did put our sandwich on the wrong bread which is surprising as we chose a standard menu sandwich- it was still tasty. Iced coffee were great!

Great vibe and great atmosphere. The waiters are a bit grumpy but not enough to put you off. We had a rooftop party for a friend and it was one of the best parties I've been to in a long time. Chills. Craft beer. Crazy good times. Too bad there isn't a non-alcoholic beer option and the coffee is very average.

I was feeling particularly adventurous and decided to visit the place I've heard a lot about - Yours Truly. I loved the vibe, the music was spot on and the waiters very friendly and helpful. I wish the wifi worked better, but it gave me a chance to enjoy sitting in the midst of the kloof street frenzy, enjoying my very delicious sandwich and iced coffee (which was HUGE) and soaking in the sounds of all the people around me treading on to their next mission. It was cool to feel like a part of a productive, busy vibe yet still feel comfortably and sufficiently protected from the hustle and bustle that is characteristic of Cape Town, Gardens. Thank you! Good experience.

Awesome vibe upstairs and downstairs and I love the idea of the projector casting cool stuff! Keep up the cheap wine and pizza! I ordered the most basic pizza and it was delish! I will be back soon!

As a matter of principle I wouldnt go for dinner unless I was able to reserve a table. I dont like queuing for food, and if Im going out to spend good money on a restaurant I dont want to wonder how long it will be before I can sit down. So strike one was the inability to make a reservation. It being a week night I thought we could chance it, as I really wanted to try out this place. Strike two was the "sit anywhere and order at the counter" approach. Again, I dont like queuing for food. Ever.
What redeemed them was the really good (above average) pizza we got - although they did fumble my friend's order. Fresh ingredients, and good portion size. And I could pay with Snapscan-winning!
Ive come to the conclusion that perhaps Im a tad older than their target market, as none of these things seemed to bother the many (mostly younger, hipster) patrons and the place was packed by the time we left. So I doubt I'll be back. But the pizza was good.
Finally went to Yours Truly this week. Yes, everyone was correct, what a great place to be. Nice atmosphere, more of a community feel (I guess he backpackers is to blame for that). Great sandwiches available here but in general, it's all about the beer.
Thys Geldenhuys
The best sandwich place with very large portions and fresh ingredients. You can build your own sandwich so the options are endless. The atmosphere is very earthy with plants and trees enclosing most of the area. Definitely a great place to go and very well priced!

The best vibes as per usual. Coldest beers. Delicious pizza. I had a great time, but be warned never arrive at 3. They have a shift change that lasts and hour and don't take any drink/food orders 😡

I simply love the vibe and setting of Yours Truly! I have enjoyed cups of coffee here with my friends as well as a good night out on the top deck drinking and chilling out listening to the live music. It is such a unique place, especially on Kloof street. This place is definitely a must to go enjoy a couple of beers wth your friends!

It’s no secret that I enjoy trying new restaurants around Cape Town. When I hear of an interesting place I book a table or add it on my to-do list immediately - and I am rarely disappointed. When I got to Yours Truly in Kloof Street I expected a good cup of cappuccino and good service but I was surprised with so much more.

First thing that came into my mind? Why had it taken me so long to pop in? I love Long Street but when I do venture out further, Kloof Street is my next stop. But why is it that no one had ever pulled me aside to tell me that it is possible to have a lunch for two in Kloof Street all under R150?

If you don’t know Kloof Street is known for its great restaurants and great food; and before today I was yet to find one that sells a glass of wine for R25. To find out that I can buy a bottle of wine in Kloof Street for less than R100 is THE jackpot of the year. I can finally say lunch is on me without batting an eyelid without compromising on taste and location.

It’s the best kept secret in Cape Town. They squeeze their own orange juice and it tastes great and the sandwiches are to-die-for with creative names such as The Don and The Junky Funky . Your standard BLT sandwiches have no space at this eatery. Do pay attention there is a day and night menu.

With long, wooden tables to sit at and living plants around you, you as feel as though you just walked into a garden. Just remember to order your food first before you settle on a table. The only challenge that we had was the lack of parking - but with the Life Style shopping centre on the next block we parked there and walked to the restaurant.

I love this place. Beats, open seating, and lots of plants create a fantastic chilling vibe, the coffee is great, and the food is divine - try their salads, sandwiches, or pizzas! Plus, they have free wifi and are dog-friendly, and the owner's dog, a little cutie called Molly, is often around. She's a little shy at times, but generally always ready for some cuddles. Also a great place to visit at night for a glass of wine, and there's an upstairs balcony section as well that opens up at night. Note: The menu changes in the evenings, and pizzas are only served at night. But that's okay - they're so worth waiting for!

This is a really great spot. With trendy people, good music, great food, I think it has become my new favorite hangout- perfect for anytime of the week.

Good coffee and a great vibe. I didn't eat but the menu consists of sandwiches and salads mostly. It's a build your own sandwich deal which offers many options.

I love this spot, hidden behind the leafy greens on Kloof. Popped in for a coffee, and the atmosphere was great! The coffee was top notch, the staff were helpful and friendly, and the music was rad. Such a nice setting..

Your Truly comes across as the ultimate hipster location for anything from breakfast and coffee to beer and pizza. The atmosphere is very vibey and it can get packed as it is quite a small venue. The pizzas are yummy but slightly overpriced. You can get a margarita and add toppings for a slightly cheaper meal.

I love the hustle and bustle in Kloof street and there are so many spots one can choose to go to. I decided to try Yours Truly for the first time and I have to say I will definitely be back again. I just had a glass of freshly squeezed OJ and the Biltong salad. Quality and quantity at its best because that salad was huge, I had to put it in a take-away for later. It's the perfect spot for a nice group gathering out in the sun or just to sit and do work on your own.

Been there once because I happened to walk there during the day and saw how cute it looked inside. Then another time I went for pizza with friends in the evening and the vibe was completely different. Calm and pleasant by day became magical and vibey filled with hipsters and other trendy people by night. Incredibly cool place to hang out at and enjoy beer and pizza. Also very affordable.

In all honesty I feel yours truly is overrated. My most recent experience there wasn't a great one. I went there to have a pizza and a beer. There beer was great, but I spent an hour waiting for the pizza bases to arrive (which is confusing considering it says 'homemade pizza's' on the wall and menu). I recommend this place for a drink with friends, but I won't attempt to eat a meal there again.

Yours Truly is always fun. Good vibe. Always pumping. When the sun is out it's a great place to hang out and have a few cold ones. The pizza is good. And they sell a strawberry and lime cider which is ridiculously yummy

I actually came here twice in one day. Their craft beer and coffee are equally good and, having come from joburg, their food is so well-priced that I actually did a double-take at the bill. I had a pizza with wine and it was absolutely delicious. Although common in Cape Town, Yours Truly was incredibly charming, and you find yourself (reluctantly at first, if you're me) sharing a table with strangers and having an surprisingly good time.
Gizela
What's not to like about an intimate, hip and chill place like this in Kloof street? The gourmet sandwiches are very tasty and I might just come back to try the homemade pizza and craft beer, but the coffee burned my taste buds. It's definitely a Capetonian favourite as it is buzzing even during the middle of the week on a cold winter's day.

Absolutely love the atmosphere - yummy wine, always bump into friends we know, make new friends, and eat good pizza. "Mr popular" is a winner for obvious reasons. No one leaves this great place with sour spirits!
Kilaan
Awesome layout, really enjoy the effort they put in greening the place and very nice use of wood and natural elements. Food was enjoyable though my The Don sandwich was a little salty. Did not enjoy the music, too gangster rap for me. Would go again if I felt like a coffee and sandwich but would sit outside next time to avoid the gangsta...

Wonderful little place in Gardens, very nice vibe with a trendy feel. Definitely the best place for a great designer sandwich! I just love building my own😜. Friendly service!

Hands down on of my favourite spots in the city - there is something about sipping wine and eating amazing pizza, whilst under a bunch of fairy lights that makes my heart smile. They often have live musics as well. Get your butt there - you will thank me :)

feel like wine, AMAZING pizza and live music...its a no brainer to head over to yours Truly. The upstairs with its cute table arrangements and fairy lights is my personal favourite. Hands down one of my favourite spots in the city!

Such a great place to go for after work drinks and pizza! Yours Truly - a very vibey spot! You can't book so I suggest going early if you planning on going with a group of friends :)

Nice vibes! Very yummy pizza. Very popular restaurant on Kloof street 👍🏻 Recommended if looking for something chilled. Hipsters alert. Seats may be a problem but there's an upstairs and downstairs area.

Came here for some drinks on a Friday evening, and really enjoyed the relaxed, comfortable vibe. The bartender was really friendly, but once they started closing the place up, staff attitude took a bit of a change for the worse as you could see they were keen to get rid of everyone. Still a great place and will be back!

Hipster Central !!! Finding a table to sit at is the hardest part of your experience, once that's out the way it's pretty smooth sailing. You order at the counter & your order gets brought to your table. Service is slow at times but it's busy, so you can't blame them! I have had a number of their sandwiches and they were all great... lovely spot to sit and chill, always people around, great place in the evenings as well, quite a jol . Evenings are even busier & their pizza menu is available. Good luck finding a table, but if you do, you won't regret it.
